You claimed that it would force Nike to move production to the US. If Trump is not going to move production to the US why would Nike? Do you realise how much it would cost them to do it? How would that expense be offset by the tariffs they would avoid?

The US produce palm oil so it puts a tarriff on palm oil coming in from other countries not the raw materials. This is the basic thing you are not understanding in supply chain. Raw materials go into a transformation process and become a finished product. Finished product is not equal raw materials.

Your country is producing cars, unless you have domestic companies that produce metal, you don't put tariffs on metal but you put on cars. A car is not metal.

And not only that if your home grown producers are not able to cover the demand then the price will go up. Also the US doesn't produce everything there are things they have to import. For example palm oil, tariff that and all the goods that rely on it must become more expensive.
