basilico: You expect the scriptures to show you how to invent a water pump or an EFI engine. Because that's what I've been asked about bible creativity.
Stupid question, stupid answer. It's the culture encouraged by the scriptures that will lead to innovation. If the scriptures say the earth is flat ,you are a heretic when you start thinking about launching satellites to orbit the earth Well then the question is stupid because you gave a stupid example with the Quran, which is why when asked to produce such an example with the Bible, you turn around to call it stupid. Blame yourself for the stupidity. |

basilico: I have not verified this. Because if it's true E Jean Carroll and the judge should be behind bars by now. You have to be out of your mind not to notice the obvious blunder in that statement. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: 2026 Midterm Elections Live! by LordReed(m): 6:40am On Apr 12 |
basilico: No invention should come from scriptures directly, maybe they can get the juices of creativity flowing in an inquisitive mind. For instance The Quran is not in chronological order,it starts with the shortest verse to the longest verse Oga,with that you could think of inventing a modular incremental energy storage system. Start with a small capacitor, which then feeds serially into large batteries. You could sell your ESS by its physical length to fit your storage space at home. .How many inches/feet of my ESS do you want? One only needs to measure where to store the ESS ,and a suitable one is selected for him/her. Oga ,you could call your ESS, the "Q inspired ESS". To avoid someone sizing what machete to use on your neck, you'd never let anyone know what Q means 😀😀😀
So now you see how Islam impedes innovation . Ok show me someone who saw something in the Bible like you are saying here then invented something. |

TV01: Have you no depth...is your moniker meant to be entirely ironic !
You have a very limited and ultimately futile toolkit, consisting of, 1. Copy & Paste 2. Avoiding questions 3. Strawmanning positions 4. Slurs 5. Tantrums
I see no depth, no artfully constructed points, no comprehensive analysis. I'll try again, because I like your discomfort !
It did so progressively and as long as it sticks, progress will continue. Nothing else can or has sustainably delivered all of that. At best mimic it to a degree. Where are the nations and empires you mentioned? Why are non-JC nations today mostly lagging - even to mimic .
It's why Nigeria is imploding, Somalia is war-torn and South-Africa is spiralling. The "inherency" required to inculcate the necessary ethos does not exist. Chaos and disarray is the natural state - and too be honest, you like it ee.slam by it's very nature cannot of itself give rise to meaningful or sustainable innovation. It's contrary to it's design and intent. The golden age you speak of was history written by the victors.
I have noted repeatedly. ee,slam will claim anything in extant, in development or that lands after it conquers a people or territory. Long-term it will be degraded and ee.slam will revert to type - 7th century Arabia. The link you shared, showed that in detail. Did you read it?
The conquered Persian mathematician who forcefully converts to ee.slam will have his invention labelled ee.slam.eek, and himself a moose.slim. Labelled moose.slim does not mean natal to ee.slam. Did moose.slims settle and build Cordoba or Baghdad or Cairo?
Where are your gods .
TV Judeo Christian values or ethos doesn't make empires immune to the changing tides of life so you asking where are those empires has 3 fingers pointing back at you. |

TV01: Christianity first moved to abolish slavery in the 11th century.
Slavery was finally abolished in Japan under Western influence as it modernised. Formally in the 19th century and fully suppressed in the 20th.
There is nothing outside the JC truth as a basis for sustained, enduring and flourishing nations. Second best is to mimic it as Japan has done - aided somewhat by it's ethnic and cultural homogeneity. Now starting to fail.
Outside that nada, nothing, nowhere - as demonstrated by Nigeria' abject failure and South Africa's spiralling backwards after one generation of emancipation from apartheid. Even the post-Christian West is starting to fall apart.
No Christ, no nation, no nothing. His kingdom come.
Keep up .
TV First moved by whom exactly? The Portuguese didn't want slavery to end in Japan so I dunno what you mean by Western influence. |

TV01: I'll afford you the benefit f the doubt this last time. Please read carefully and slowly - several times if required .
No one claimed inventions should spontaneously arise out of what ever anyone considers to be holy text. Apparently basilico did expect such. The position is that it is the truth of the JC culture that creates the milieu as described in my last post - which has been hidden. To paraphrase below,.
"Only the JC ethos creates the sustainable culture which can deliver full-suite human rights, individual freedoms and civil liberties. Which at once guarantee individual pursuits and free association, formsng the basis for open trade, guilds and capital markets, which drive, innovation, research, scientific inquiry and technological advancement, as well as progressive social welfare programs".
Likewise your mate DeepSight continues to insist that Christianity advocates slavery, and continues to argue that against himself, when the position is the Christian scriptures do not preach slavery. Not that some people who claim to be Christians have not used the bible to justify slavery - no one ever claimed that.
Pay attention sir .
TV The Japanaese did not need your Christian whatever to end slavery 500300 years before Christians had to kill themselves to achieve it. Pay attention. |

basilico: I guess you've never heard about inflation ,or money losing value over time,I won't indulge you in that. I enjoy watching Muslims twist themselves into a pretzel explaining how merciful Allah was to ban riba. While it's his prophet who didn't want to pay back his loans with interest They still have interest ,they call it a contract , paying back and reimbursing the costs associated with the loan.
Without interest there'd be no banks. How banks handle loans and repayments is another matter, banks are critical to any economy. No, banks are critical to the kind of economy we have now, they didn't always exist and economies got on just fine without them. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: 2026 Midterm Elections Live! by LordReed(m): 12:15pm On Apr 11 |
basilico: I'll mention riba
Riba in Arabic is interest on loans. The prophet needed money to run his raiding caravans. He borrowed money from some people including Jewish traders. He didn't want to pay back with interest, ( I doubt he even repaid his loans). Allah to the rescue. He got one or more revelations that interest on loans was exploitative. After which interest on loans in Islam was banned till today. (If you look carefully at Islam, you see Allah conveniently coming to the rescue of his prophet many times).
There are PhD programs in Islamic bankng with specific emphasis on interest free loans. Banks have Sharia compliant loans in their products to Muslims.
I am told that you need a lot of money to invent or innovate almost everything. Ban on riba is a huge stumbling block.
I don't like talking about Islam, so I'll switch back to bashing liberals. Supporting Trump and hating Obama for his sympathies to Muslim terrorists. Actual interest is a trap which is why it has to be regulated or else all the money would belong to the banks. I think the ban on interest is the right way to proceed. You want money to be working not just sitting in a bank acquiring exorbitant interest. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: 2026 Midterm Elections Live! by LordReed(m): 1:00pm On Apr 10 |
basilico: I'll put this down for the record. Democrats usually pick on a populist topic , one that they know the Republicans will oppose. Reparations is one. The Republicans are the ones who actually freed the slaves , leading to the civil war. Not a single Republican owned a slave. One main reason for it's formation was to abolish slavery. It behoves the mind how democrats twist history to cast Republicans as the slavery party. Bewildering at the least. Democrats are the party of Jim Crow and KKK. Only two or three KKK members from the South became Republicans ,and the most prominent Byrd was adulated by Biden,Clinton's and the democrats in general. The big switch never happened the way democrats put it, the generation of KKK adherents died out. Robert Byrd won his seat as a democrat for 51 years till his death in 2010. When socialists run out of money they hike taxes or create new ones like the wealth tax. Two blue states are working on slapping the wealthy leaving their hellholes with an exit tax . When it comes to reparations, democrats want the black vote solidly locked in. Portray Republicans as white supremacists for opposing reparations. Joe Biden every written speech as President was always against white supremacy , he stated it was the most serious threat to Maeica severally. Immigrants including whites , blacks and the brown should pay reparations because the wealth of America was built on the backs of slaves. How about the blacks who made it big , wasn't their wealth built on the backs of slavery. Oprah Winfrey for instant , she should pay reparations if her wealth can be traced to slavery. Trump whose parents immigrated in the 1900s should pay reparations if we can trace a dollar of his wealth to slavery. In short the whole reparations pushed by democrats is only about driving a wedge between the American society and creating a permanent voting block. Nothing more, no love for the black community at all if they won't vote for Democrats. LoLz. Remind me again which party has being caught multiple times exchanging racist messages and admiring Hitler. That's right the Republicans. So maybe you are brainwashed by glib attempts to obfuscate what any thinking person can see but I'm not. |

basilico: Let everyone pay reparations. Including Arabs who still enslave today. Including Africans who sold off their own people.Including Mauritanians Arabs who still keep slaves informally today.
Mexican cartels usually charge exorbitantly for trafficking illegals into America. If you can't pay then once in America you will work your ass off for the cartels ( be it a legit business or not) to repay. That's an indentured slave ,You may be aware that young girls are often pimped by the cartels.

Or should we just accuse whitey of owning slaves leaving out the blacks in America. In other continents every race owned slaves. Where should compensation start and stop and who is responsible . Should the descedants of slavery emancipators be he white or brown or black pay reparations. Should William Wilberforce descedants pay reparations.
Stop playing coy. I LoLz. There is no coy, the answer is a mighty resounding YES. You are the one carrying water for white supremacists and using convoluted garbage reasoning to try and say reparations should not be paid. Disingenuous is your middle name. |

Approximately 3,775–3,776 free Black slaveholders owned 12,760–12,907 slaves, around 0.5% of the slaves then.
LoLz. You are the one beating around the bush. You don't think reparations should be paid be honest let everyone see how much of a water carrier you are for white supremacy. How does blacks owning slave stop the payment of reparations? If not that you are carrying water for white supremacy. |
