This is from the winners of the Lyttle Lytton Contest where people compete to write the worst first sentence (in 25 words or less) of the worst imaginary novel, like "The man looking at me had eyery eyes and they were deadingly deadly!" The winners are below 2019: "Are you okay?” asks my sister Tlaloc. “You’re as green as the parrots that inhabit this part of the continent.” ...joins a pretty amazing list of awful past winners: 2018: As I felt the vampire sexily drinking the blood from my neck, the warmth between my legs grew both in wetness and in fear for my life 2017: YOU, the Anagramancer, stare down the invading MANTICORE: Will you ROMANCE IT (turn to 123), give it CREMATION (turn to 213), or summon EROTIC MAN (turn to 312)? 2016: It all started when my topaz eyes looked up into his soft emerald ones. 2015: I drew my customized Kimber 1911 .45, with the Pachmayr grips and skeletonized trigger, and leveled it coolly at the African-Americans. 2014: “Together, we will beat them all,” she whispered, caressing the circlet-girt fontanelles of her #royalbaby. 2013: The men greeted each other, wearing various smiles on their faces. 2012: Agent Jeffrey’s trained eyes rolled carefully around the room, taking in the sights and sounds. 2011: The red hot sun rose in the cold blue sky. 2010: "I shouldn’t be saying this, but I think I’ll love you always, baby, always,” Adam cried into the email. 2009: The mighty frigate Indestructible rounded the Horn of Africa and lurched east’ard. 2008: Because they had not repented, the angel stabbed the unrepentant couple thirteen times, with its sword. 2007: It clawed its way out of Katie, bit through the cord and started clearing. 2006: This is the cipher key for all that follows: |||||| || |! 2005: John, surfing, said to his mother, surfing beside him, "How do you like surfing?" 2004: This is the story of your mom's life. 2003: For centuries, man had watched the clouds; now, they were watching him. 2002: The pain wouldn't stop, and Vern still had three cats left. 2001: Turning, I mentally digested all of what you, the reader, are about to find out heartbreakingly. ![]() Can you come up with stuff worse than these? |

KoiceReloaded:You're right, he was no Doctor, he was of the chancery profession. |
KoiceReloaded:It wasn't the old doctor, buddy.... Perhaps you're mistaken? Thanks for the recommendations, will see. ![]() |
Just watched the BBC one mini serie and then there were none based on Agatha Christie's best selling novel of the same name. I had started reading the book and wanted to see the serie after I was through, but felt I would enjoy the story more visually (so I dropped the book and went for the show)- and I sure did! Quality acting with some beguiling characters, good dialogue, witty sequences and the misdirections were well nailed down (at a point I stopped trying to solve the mystery and just focus on the entertainment ), and the ending will leave you stunned because the killer was quite obvious you wonder why you didn't figure it out!Would finish the book now. ![]() |
KoiceReloaded:Hahaha that scene alone can be made into a movie and it will still sell. ![]() |
KoiceReloaded:And coming here to inundate us with box office sitting and rotten tomatoes ratings. ![]() |
Seven psychopaths 8/10 A unique narrative, witty and self aware of it's own goofiness, with many fvcked up individuals, no forced humour or expository characters. Well casted and edited, and well paced (though I felt pacing a bit faster wouldn't do any harm). An overall enjoyable picture that will live you entertained by the end. ![]() Beware spoilers below (can't help it, this part is so damn good )Imagine being stalked for years to the point of madness, where you think your only solution was suicide, because only those who take their own lives are guaranteed a place in hell and you think that's the one place your stalker won't be able to follow you, so you pull out a knife and slit your throat; but the last thing you see as the blood spills is the stalker reach into his pocket, bring out a knife of his own, put it to his throat and slit (and he smokes a cigarette while the blood spills from his gullet). ![]()

acedsportsng:Search "toy story fzmovies" without the quotes on Google and click the first link, follow the process and that will do it. |
Toy story 10/10 Seeing this movies as an adult for the first time I miss not seeing it as a kid, I can only imagine how awestruck I must have been and how inspiring and sophisticating I must have found it. Such brilliance, hilarious, touching, amazing story, satisfying ending and the voice cast was excellent. Would tackle the franchise now. ![]()

Octopusssy:The bolded is one of the top reasons I love Tarantino's movies. |
JeromeBlack:Do you know how naive you sound? Nigerian government that hasn't successfully improved prestigious aspects of the national life are who you expect to venture into entertainment? |
EditLord:Use Google, there is a wealth of information out there you can tap from. |
The aviator 9/10 I recall the first time I watched this movie I was enthralled and found the lead character alluring, and now on this later viewing the experience has become even more effervescent. A story about a man battling with his demons, eccentric and charming, touching and soulful, Scorsese and Di Capirio did excellent on this one. |
mekaprime:You're on point, but I must interject that part of it's Oscar winning craze was in part due the portrayal of a strong female lead - you know how the academy award like to appear politically correct. But I must confess that the picture was fascinating, very suspenseful and really awe inspiring. |
My hiatus is over, let's make some fvcking money!!!! |
ayobamiJR:You're welcome, and it will be better to post actual footage of the film. |
ayobamiJR:Didn't find it interesting. |
iamJ:It's business, these remakes are grossing near billions so they are capitalizing on it. |
ayobamiJR:Which studio is producing this? |
Princess mononoke 8/10 From the guy who made spirited away, an epic fantasy war anime with an adult story, beautifully drawn and fastidiously executed. Watching it was a wonderful experience, the romance was bared down to a sufferable level and the philosophy is resonate. This and spirited away are my top feature length animes so far, and they are spurring me to check out more stuff from studio Ghibli.

The tree of life 6/10 This movie starts out boring and incomprehensible, it might even induce some serious lethargy on the viewer. For the first 30 minutes or so I thought I was watching a discovery world plus Nat Geo wild documentary featuring voice over from an ancient Bible broadcast. I somehow get what the makers we're trying to portray, plus the acting from Brad Pitt and Jessica Chastain managed to pull me in and engage my attention, I must say that this was an audacious experiment and it could have been done better. Granted, the picture wasn't made for entertainment purpose, you will have to have a strong spiritual orientation to be able to enjoy it, but I must confess the the movie did grow on me as it progressed. |
Has anybody here watched the tree of Life? Movie is a bore fest! Been trying to finish it since morning because I feel it might have a good pay off, but... |
KoiceReloaded:Yeah. You have to hand it to them, they are more tolerant than Mohammedians. |
