mekaboy: Now, 99.999% of christians opposing this message are those of us struggling with the flesh. We all know that married men struggle with temptation not to cheat on their wife, how much more when they take alcohol that will give them the push?

Ok let's forget about Jesus turning water to wine and follow the simply scriptures that say " if you right hand will cause u to sin, cut it off" now most times alcohol will cause us to sin. So cut it off.

I pray I can cut it off entirely, when a guy drinks, the urge for sex increases.
if u have a wife wath is wrong with the increased urge 4 sex

Mintayo: God bless you real good,i think ppl like frosbel shld read this your post, they because they always drinking 'wine'will look for a scripture to backup their sins-that is a lying spirit!

God bless you!
in d passage u quoted why was wine consider as unclean thing frm d book of jg along side with strong wine. Y do u ppl act as if u don't knw dat we have high and low percentage of alcohol
Christianity Etc › Re: Alcohol And Immorality By Pastor Adeboye by loswhite(m): 6:28pm On Mar 10, 2013
PHIPEX: This is to my understanding the very reason why the Bible says that the letters of the Bible kills but the spirit behind the Bible gives life,(2Cor 3:6). Someone who follows simply the letters of the Bible (especially regarding this issue) could very well justify whatever he does even with scriptures to backup. The king James for instance sometimes uses the word "wine" as alcohol but in most cases it differentiates Alcoholic wines (which it calls Strong drinks) from Non-alcoholics.

Le 10:9 Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:

Nu 6:3 He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.

De 29:6 Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I am the LORD your God.

Jg 13:4 Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing:

Jg 13:7 But he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing: for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb to the day of his death.

Jg 13:14 She may not eat of any thing that cometh of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing: all that I commanded her let her observe.

1Sa 1:15 And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.

I can go on and on...

I believe any christian who understands the level of his relationship with God will not use a simple instruction given to Timothy by Paul due to his ill health at the time to undermine over 20 other contrary instructions from God. Even if one is able to justify the drinking of alcohol but for the level of debates it's generating, the love and meekness in a christian should be able to make such a one to desist from it in order not to drag the name of God to disrepute.

in 1 Cor 8:8 Paul said he has the faith to eat (drink) anything and nothing will happen neither will he feel condemned but he went further to say in 1Co 8:10 "For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat(food and drinks) in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols." In verse 13 he said " Wherefore, if meat(food and drinks) make my brother to offend (sin), I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend."
wine is also considered as unclean frm d passage u quoted so what dat tells u is strong wine has high percentage of alcohol. Fresh palm wine 4 instance has low level of alcohol but d more it ferments d more it becomes stronger in terms of alcohol
Politics › Re: Ezekwesili Replies Sanusi On $45bn Reserves by loswhite(m): 9:21am On Mar 10, 2013
mikeapollo: Dont mind this attention-seeking woman. She was the head of the so-called 'Due Process Office' under Obasanjo when over $16Billion was spent on power projects with nothing to show for it. Some of the money was even paid to fictitious and non-existing companies.

She belongs to the Obasanjo camp....together with Fani-Kayode, Soludo, El-Rufai and Ribadu etc. They are making noise to seek attention because they are no longer favoured by the government.

During the power-probe, she rushed down from US to come and defend Obasanjo.

A few weeks ago, she was at a PDP event to celebrate Obasanjo, and she was eulogising Obasanjo to high heavens, despite all the corruption in his govt.

I am not a fan of GEJ or PDP, but I dont like hypocrites. When they were in govt, they were telling us that all was well....but all of a sudden, they have turned into 'emergency activists' because they are out of favour. HYPOCRITES!

Any good follower of International Economics knows that Nigeria was able to save much because the price of Oil went to as high as $140/barrel during the economic boom of 2003-2007. It is common sense that the external reserves would be negatively affected when the price of oil fell to below $40/barrel for about 2 years.

Ezekwesili will be embarrased if Okonjo-Iweala comes out to debunk her claims.....afterall, Okonjo was the Finance Minister and the person who allegedly helped her to get the WB job, and invariably her senior too

The FG should ignore her. She cant even face Sanusi
which year did d price of oil fell below 40 usd per barrel 4 two years dats a big lie
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Was Nani's Red Card Justified? by loswhite(m): 1:37am On Mar 07, 2013
Frostyzone: No, it wasn't. Nani didn't even see the guy coming as he went for the ball. Nobody, not even The Madrid players expected such an hard decision the ref, as none of them contested it.

I even thought at first that the decision would swing our way, after watching the first replay.
Arbeloa was the clear instigator of the foul, as he had no business throwing himself at an on rushing Nani at all.

My only regret is that he wasn't hospitalized, only then would a red card had been justified.
really ! Decision swing ur way chai na back of television u watch

- Nani DOESN'T know that the guy was coming because ALL his attention was on the BALL. If the Ref had just issued the red card immediately I would have said it was a reflex (which ofcourse he will regret later). That guy waited for atleast 70secs before issuing the red. Nobody in that match expected a red card at that moment beside the refree. You could even see the surprise on the faces of RealMad players. May be yellow but definitely NOT a red. That Ref is a biatch!
his stud was on arbeloa's rib . I agree wit u on it was not intentional but if u fowl sumbody on box 18 weather it is intentional or not it is a penalty so d same applies

I mean, even the excuse of personal right to sexu@l indulgence seems to be more plausible and hold water.

Even in our mundane activities we are lured, common sense simply demands that you weigh the value of what is to be given and what is to be taken to then make the decision that would be best for you. petsam11: What do you mean by wastage? If he (President) will release the money to them and it enters good hands for better management/utilization. I see nothing like wastage...Nollywood is very capable of employing the unemployed, generating revenue and so on... WHAT I KNOW IS THAT, WITH VERY GOOD FUNDING, NOLLYWOOD CAN GET TO THE LEVEL OF HOLLYWOOD IF NOT BETTER... Because when there is much funding, there will be great competition amongst actors/actresses, directors, producers, infact all the departments in the movie industry... And from there you will see massive development...
is it Us government dat is funding Hollywood ? Pls government cannot fund nollywood. Wat they can do is to put laws in place dat will encourage investors

We are a people of great self worth! i sincerely dont understand what the op is saying.... Plus, if the op is smart enough then she doesnt need nairalanders to teach her how to raise her kids. (well, maybe her kids are already showing beggarly symptoms)

@ op get more perspective abt life itself d only tin constant in life is changes. Lets say there is a child dat comes frm a wealthy home and sum how he lost his dad so he is trying to adjust but he is use to wearing 3000 naira jean. So oneday he ask his uncle for money to buy jean and uncle said hw can u wear a 3000 naira jean wen there is okrika jean dat u can buy 4 200 naira but ur uncles children r wearing d one of 3000 o. I will like to knw hw u will feel @ dat point in time. For me I will b happy if my uncle js say I don't have moni than 4 him to start defining wat shud b my need and want and also wat I shud b contended wit. i cant remember the last time any of my friends or family members called to beg me for anything, and i must confess they only call to discuss business opportunities with me.

@op, quit messing around with beggars

NIGERIANS are not beggars, they dont sit at home depending on the government to feed them through welfare packages, they are hard working set of people. If they dont call u again, its not because u did not give them money, its because u are unreasonable, just like your post.

davidylan: hmm and how do you know they dont "behave like us"? Dont they wear brazilian wigs too or is that restricted to nigerians only? There is nothing inherently wrong with the nigerian culture... what we have are people who travel abroad then acquire a false sense of superiority over those who have not yet made it to the airport.

Your examples above are not unique to nigerians. I see plenty of American girls do the same... take a trip to NYC or LA... so many living on credit cards just to keep up with the Joneses.

Like Biolabee said above... teach your kids contentment. If you cannot afford to help those from naija who beg you, just say no and leave it there. Coming online to beat them down and run down the entire country because of your warped idea of a few is not the way to go. I have no problem with helping... but many of us do so in such a condescending manner and yet act surprised when those we help arent falling over themselves to show their gratefulness.
i like ur post. To poster their is joy in giving. It is not ur position to start defining want and need cos wat u feel is a want might mean a need to d other person so if u can give if u can't I don't have. It is very simple

damiso: Oga i will never ever SNEER at people in NEED.NEVER.Fortunately or unfortunately i come from a family that went through both having and not having.Heck my dad got called olowo atijo(rich before before) my some people who were meant to be friends. So as I keep saying no one so far on this thread has said dont give to people who are in need.

The issue is begging people for things that are non essential.I am not one of those people who believe they are better than somebody cos they live abroad. My friends are even always joking that my jokes about how they are enjoying would make anyone hate living abroad ;DSome even say eeeya pele i simply dont know how ur coping without permanent live in domestic help.

In short if it is to beg i should be begging some of my husband relatives that come from.Nigeria cos some shops they enter hen i neva haff the liver lipsrsealed if i enter na for 99% off sales grin. But i wont beg them to buy me Birkin bag cos if i dony carry birkin or mulberry or Ferragamo bag i wont die.

greatgod2012: Yes oo madam CC, always correct, just yesterday, my sister's kids came to play with my kids, and along d line, one of them was begging for biscuits from one of my kids, and d next thing i overheard my first kid telling him is...."dont you have self-esteem, why would you be begging for something, are you a policeman?"
and d other kid answered him....." what is soo special there, everyone begs for one thing or d other" and my kids replied....."noooooooo, its a lie, i have never begged for anything and i've never seen any of my parent begging for anything from anyone, so, its not everyone that begs"..........blah, blah, blah.....
so, op, d basis of my story is that, it lies with d parent, whatever you train your kid with is what he will grow up to be, ......."train a child d way he shall go and when hes old, he will not depart from it"
Anyone that begs cant possibly have that self-esteem and cant attract respect from pple, so, its our duty to teach our children self-esteem, its very important, lets always teach them to be self-dependent and self reliance rather than thinking that someone will help them to solve their problems.
May God help us all.
dis hw u train ur kids to b spoilt brat instead of correcting him to share wit her cousins u r talkin abt hw dey learn frm u not begging.is it a crime to beg or ask after d bible says ask and it shall b given to u. As 4 op begging or asking does not bring abt low self esteem it is how u go abt doin it.so train ur kids to ask wen necessary cos no man is an island.point of correction no human is 100 percent self sufficient .

HAH: This guys are not terrorist but are obviously working for the iranian intelligence agency they same way we have so many CIA and mossad agents everywhere.

Infact most countries do have intelligence agencies that gather infomation for them in foreign countries mostly locals are recruited to aid in that. In Nigeria we have the NIA who are mostly in foreign land gathering infomation, I personally know of somebody planted by NIA in a foreign land as a clergy.

Nigerias problem is not iran but salafis who are funded by saudi arabia but because saudi is a major US ally they are untoucheable,

Egba girl: Glad this topic is on the front page. Here is what I said on the thread I created on this topic:

What is even sadder than this little girl's death is the reaction of the school authorities asking the fam to drop the case and accept it as the will of God. To make it worse, the comments made my heart bleed. Why would anyone in their right mind support teachers sending students on errands that are not school related and even outside of the school building at creaking 10am in the morning too! I mean I know the education system is failing but really, has it come to this?

The teacher didn't kill the student, the truck driver did. However, the teacher, just like the driver, needs to be held responsible for his/her actions.

Btw, why do we continue to claim all the bad things that happen as God's will? If only we will put religious sentiments aside for once and see that it is we humans that are the cause of our own problems! Like one of the comments mentioned, there is no enforcement of any child protection laws. But I ask myself again, is there any enforcement of any law (generalization but mostly true)
pls have u in ur life send anybody message to help u buy sumtin ? We do dis everyday it doesn't mean anything so pickin on d teacher to me is wrong. The teacher is already in a serious emotional pain dat she might not4 give herself for that.it is tragedy.
