Nazgul: Men to be honest it has improved, like seriously improved. We had light for 6 days at a stretch without blinking. Before they took it and brought it back almost immediately.
The only problem I'm faced with now is that my prepaid meter's units is horribly dropping each day with reckless abandon.
Power supply has seriously improved on Lagos mainland. I don't know for other parts of Nigeria. Why do we complain of prepaid in this country? Can you compare the amount you spend on petrol generator with your prepaid? We have to change our mentality. Electricity is expensive in every country. It should be stable and we can easily switch off our appliances |

If they take it,it won't be up to 5 minutes before they bring it back.

CharleyBright: Sounds logical. It is very obvious that Tinubu is supporting Akpabio for Senate President because Akpabio stepped down for Tinubu at the primaries and paved way for Tinubu's emergence as APC candidate. That's okay. It is Reciprocity.
But as someone who believe in Seperation of Powers and who is greatly opposed to Executive interference in the Legislative, am caught in between the two scenarios of Tinubu deciding for the Legislative arm who should be the Leader (on one hand), and on the other hand, if Akpabio doesn't become Senate President, Yari would be President. What that would imply is that #1, #2, #3, and #4 positions in the country will all be occupied by Muslims. That will automatically means Muslim dominance in govt and further give credence to the Islamization agenda. This is one thing the Muslims will never accept if the situation was reversed.
But it seems the members of the Senate will hijaack the process and go against Tinubu's wish and gang up to support/vote Yari. This would further fuel the internal crisis within APC. Already El-Rufai and Ganduje are already nursing grievances against Tinubu over appointments to juicy positions. They might try to incite Northern senators to gang up against Tinubu and ensure Yari emerges as Senate President. And going forward, Yari will become an instrument to oppose Tinubu bills. I thought we have gone past the religious sentiment? They said we should not talk about Muslim Muslim ticket but focus on capabilities...lol. The first to last position can and should be held by Muslims we don't care. |

I mean, just imagine. This thing is getting illogical day by day. Same United state forcing other NATO, EU members, bullying other neutral countries into sending billion dollar worth of weapons to Ukraine, is still the same US threatening others not to rally around Russia. Donald Trump complained on CNN today about how billions of dollar were flushed down the drain by US into this Ukraine war, thereby abandoning Key projects that can even benefit the US citizens. Who the fvck do these guys even think they are? A god?
UK today just announced they are sending Long range weapons to Ukraine. Long range weapons are not for defense but for offensive. Yet the hypocritical west are saying they are only arming Ukraine for their defence. Who then supplied the sophisticated drones they have been using to attack Moscow?
This is what you get when you worship these slave masters. Nigerians who are fond of running to them for validation and writing letters to them to interfere in our internal affairs should learn from this. A mere Ambassador running his mouth. Imagine a nonentity threatening a sovereign state. Cuba today cant even import a bottle of coke because of heavy sanctions from the US. The only crime they commited was allowing Russia build a military base in their country bordering US. A 'sin' which almost warranted US nuking Cuba. The same thing US are supporting Ukraine for against Russia. Focus on your country and stop ranting from your kitchen...kolo |

1. The King isnt as popular as the Late queen Elizabeth. The people are not use to the change yet and they dont seem like they want to or going to get use to it anytime soon.
2. The Late Princess Diana death is still playing against everyone in the royal family. The Citizens still looking for scapegoats. The Queen consort, Camillia is always the victim here.
3. I think the citizens are tired of not being able to elect their leader themselves. They want a president not some fancy kingdom with kings and queens.
They wish to vote their leader themselves. They want to be the decider and for that to happen, they need to scrap the monarchy system entirely.
Not very possible with the way things stand. lol make them come Nigeria come see the one we dey vote since 1999...lol |

Politics › Re: Buhari Lays ‘booby Traps’ For Incoming Government; By Punch Editorial Board by loswhite(m): 11:32am On May 02, 2023 |
DeLaRue: That 40% salary increase was shocking. The agreements they are rushing to sign are befuddling.
We need fiscal and monetary tightening to bring our debt profile to a sustainable level, not reckless spending.
Reckless spending = more debt, more debt = increased chance that we default on repayment, default will = crash of the naira to well over N1, 200 to $1. To put things in context, the Egyptian pound lost 50% of its value last year alone.
Naira crash = hyper inflation which will finally turn the economy upside down.
By then, we will be in the clutches of IMF, like Ghana, Sri Lanka, Argentina, Egypt, and Lebanon.
Inflation in Lebanon is over 250%. Bread there costs 50 times as much as it did 3 years ago.
That's the equivalent of buying a N500 loaf of bread for N25,000.
All because they failed to manage their economy properly.
Tinubu needs to declare a debt state of emergency as soon as he gets in and do the following:
1. Temporary ban on salary increases 2. Ban on certain infrastructural projects for 2 years - e.g no new major road construction to be approved. Let's do patching for now 3. Orasanye report or a revised version should be implemented. Many agencies should be abolished or merged 4. Sell off non performing refineries that are still gulping tens of billions annually.
In the mean time:
1. Channel resources into education - elevate their infrastructure, keep agreements made with lecturers, and help our schools produce graduates that can compete on a global level,
2. Increase import duty exponentially on non-essential reckless imports that is destroying the value of the naira. I don't understand why my local supermarket has 4 different types of almond milk. 10 years ago, nobody had heard of almond milk, and we survived.
3. Spend on improving efficiency in public service delivery.
A few years ago, registering a company was complicated and in many cases required bribing CAC staff. Today, the process is as smooth as butter because the entire process has been moved online and no.more bribery. The efficiency gains are massive. This approach should be adopted across all government departments. It will significantly reduce if not eliminate corruption, at very little cost.
4. Pay down our debt.
5. By the end of year 2, start loosening the purse strings again, but more responsibly than the current govt. Paying down the debt significantly will help to stabilise the Naira, and help Mr Tinubu to start investing in priority infrastructure again. New roads, better schools, better hospitals etc
Instead of immediate salary increases, he should consider removing anyone earning N40, 000 or below from paying income tax. This will have less impact on inflation. Not a single mention of the politicians wasteful payment package. The leaders should be the first to slash their salaries and crazy allowances. |
Politics › Re: Sense Of Entitlement Syndrome In Nigeria Too Much – Ngige by loswhite(m): 9:37pm On May 01, 2023 |
N3TRAL: If you have passed through a public university in Nigeria and then you think Dr. Ngige isn't making sense , then you should forfeit your degree.
Education in Nigeria is heavily subsidized. Nigeria cannot train you almost free of charge and then you run away to a foreign country when Nigeria lacks sufficient manpower in your field of endeavor. The practice is worse than being unpatriotic. It is wickedness.
Medical doctors spend less than a million naira in tuition in Federal universities to complete their program. In fact, during the NYSC program, most medical students make back the money they spent on their tuition.
Many medical doctors in the foreign countries you wickedly dump Nigeria for spend the first two years of their career paying back student loans. Their salary is high because of the high cost of living in their country which is why they pay an average of 100,000 USD for medical education ( tuition+ others fees).
The government doesn't intend to stop you from migrating. No, they'll be stupid to do that because it's against the tenets of FHRs . The FG is simply telling you, if Nigeria is the worst country on Earth, go to Canada, US or UK and spend 50,000 USD to acquire medical training and then work for them. If you want to benefit from our subsidy then you must compulsorily serve us for a few couple of years.
However, the policy of the FG is not good for the long run because medical consultants, experts and specialists will greatly reduce in Nigerian hospitals as there's no embargo placed against them.
What's the need of having many medical doctors who are not really proficient?
The best practice remains improving the welfare of Medical practitioners and enlightening them of their Hippocratic oath to serve their black brothers and sisters.
God Bless Dr Ngige. He's a patriotic Nigerian! You are a foolish Nigerian. A patriotic Nigerian will slash the amount of money we spend on politicians. A patriotic Nigeria will speak against pension for Ex looters (state Governor) This ppl constantly feeds on the country. Jumping from one position to the other and enjoying tax payers money and yet they don't care about the welfare of doctors. They jump on the next flight to get medical attention in foreign countries and yet they budget so little for health sector. You are big fool for calling Ngige a patriot. |

Invitationn: Valid points. Spotting a propaganda campaign isn’t as hard as it seems. The whole idea is to corrupt the truth.
I’ll give you some instances and you be the judge. We’ve been dealing with the US for decades now. We have the a huge energy issue. We have a huge infrastructure issue (roads, railways, airports- MMA in Lagos; the busiest, the gateway to Nigeria is an eyesore).
What did the US do about it? What help did they give? All they do is threaten us with sanctions (John Kerry threatened GEJ with sanctions because of a bill to legalise homosexualism). Trump paused the delivery of the much needed Tucanos to fight terrorists as sanctioning measures even after we’ve paid in full.
Looking at what the Chinese has done for us in less than a decade- over our nascent relationship with them. Railways and rail stations , highways, Airport terminals, Port and bridges. They not only provide the loans (interest cheaper than what’s obtainable in the world bank and IMF) they are also building the infrastructure.
Now, you’d agree with me that I didn’t get these information from the Chinese media: these are facts! We can all see it.
That’s not propaganda. Who did it for China in 1989? Why are you always looking for someone to do it for you? You have bad leadership and if only those leaders focused on developing the country by now we would have been in same position with China helping other African countries. |
