Your post is deceptive! If you have been actively involved in the protests you'd know better. Seyi Makinde made a pronouncement on national TV that the police should take a backseat in the ongoing protest, and the other security outfits in Oyo State be on the frontline. |

A few years after I served my first Mass at the altar of St Anthony's Catholic Church, a vibrant young boy joined the Altar Boys Association, when I asked his name from the President who was in charge of the induction process at the time, "he is your namesake" came the reply. From then on, Victor Edeke and I bonded. As time passed, it was time to leave the altar and let the next group of God's boys take charge. I left for the seminary [story for another day] and Victor and I weren't as close as we use to be, but we kept in touch once in a while. Then sometime in 2017, news reached me from one of our mutual friend, that Victor was diagnosed of glaucoma. I prayed and supported the best way I could, the right eye was operated upon, and soon enough he was back and better....or so we thought. This evening, the same mutual friend put up a picture on his WhatsApp status, and when I pressed down my screen, I saw this picture of Victor, lo and behold my namesake has come down with a bone tumour, one that requires urgent medical attention. This really broke my heart, because I know what my friend has been through already, and to make matters more complicated, I was just informed that he has lost sight in both eyes I sincerely and humbly solicit for every help everyone can render to help my dear friend, my namesake......I am beg you! He needs approximately 1.5 Million Naira for complete Medicare. May God continue to provide for you as you perform this act of charity....Amen Donations can be sent to his Mother's Account with details below; Contact Details - 0903 688 4428 Bank - UBA Account Name - SYLVANIA EDEKE Account Number - 2075743620 #saveVictorEdeke

The Nicaragua football federation (Fenifut) on Thursday confirmed that it was left-back Manuel Rosas, and not team captain Juan Barrera, whose vote was sent in to FIFA in its The Best voting for its player of the year. The federation said it mistakenly told FIFA that it was Barrera who voted, when in fact, it was Rosas. Rosas' vote was for Lionel Messi. FIFA on Friday also issued a statement saying that the sport's governing body was "disappointed to see a number of reports in the media questioning the integrity of the voting process." Nicaragua captain Barrera earlier this week said he did not vote for the Barcelona forward. In FIFA The Best voting, choices were made by national team managers and captains as well as various media representatives of each country. Messi beat Virgil van Dijk and Cristiano Ronaldo to win the award, which was given in Milan on Monday. On Wednesday, FIFA denied allegations of foul play with regards to the voting. The Nicaragua federation on Thursday publicly shouldered the blame for the confusion. "Due to an administrative error that we will assume responsibility for in order to be transparent, Fenifut erroneously submitted a vote for Messi to FIFA that was attributed to Juan Barrera," the federation said in a statement. "[Barrera] was the player who voted last year and was already registered [in FIFA voting]." Lionel Messi won FIFA's The Best award on Monday, but some of the voting has been called into question. Photo by Simon Hofmann - FIFA/FIFA via Getty Images In the statement, Fenifut said that the team's coach, Henry Duarte, took charge of naming the players who would vote for the award, and that it was Duarte who chose the players and, in this case, he opted to name Manuel Rosas, who had voted in previous years as well. Fenifut also said that both Duarte and Rosas voted for Messi, just as it appears in the FIFA voting card, which shows five points for Messi, three for Sadio Mane and one for Cristiano Ronaldo. "Fenifut would like to clarify that the entire situation was a misunderstanding, although we take full responsibility for the administrative error and we understand how this can be upsetting to one of our national team captains," the statement read. The federation also apologized for any way the misunderstanding could have affected the credibility of FIFA's The Best awards. FIFA, meanwhile, in their statement on Friday called the media reports questioning the voting process "unfair and misleading." "The voting procedure for each of the awards is supervised and monitored by an independent observer, in this case PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Switzerland. FIFA and PwC follow the Rules of Allocation and relevant standard control procedures," FIFA said in a news release. "As per these procedures, FIFA requested all member associations to submit their voting forms both electronically and in writing. The written documents must also be signed by the responsible persons of the association as well as by the persons authorised to vote. "Therefore in order for a vote to be valid it must include the respective signatures and the member association's stamp," the statement said. "Both FIFA and the independent observer can demonstrate that all the votes submitted in accordance with the rules and within the deadlines were taken into account. Consequently, there is no doubt whatsoever as to the authenticity of the result. Should there have been any case of wrong-doing, and even if this did not affect the result of the vote, FIFA will investigate and apply sanctions where necessary." He stopped the biggest ransomware attack in history – but wanted to be left alone. JAMES FELTON 22/05/2017, 20:02 On the 14th of May, one of the biggest ransomware attacks in history took place. Organizations such as the UK's National Health Service (NHS) and FedEx were hit by an attack of unprecedented scale. The ransomware encrypted countless NHS files, demanding ransom money for them to be unencrypted, and caused widespread chaos in all the organizations it hit. But then a 22-year-old figured out how to hit a kill switch on the ransomware, stopping it from spreading any further. Marcus Hutchins, a security expert from an English coastal town, discovered a domain name within the ransomware's source-code. On a hunch, he bought the domain name for an extremely affordable $10.69. Immediately after he bought the domain name, computers affected by the attack began connecting to the URL, and within hours people's files became accessible again. The attack was stopped in its tracks, deactivated by the kill switch found by Hutchins. Since then, Hutchins, who failed his Information Technology course in high school after being accused of hacking (which he denies), has been rewarded by HackerOne with a $10,000 payout, which he decided to give to charity. "I plan on holding a vote to decide which charities will get the majority of the money," he told HackerOne. "The rest will go to buying books/resources for people looking to get into infosec who can't afford them." Then came the bad part. Since stopping the attack, Hutchins has been hounded by the press and had all his details leaked to the public. Marcus says he may have to move, now that everyone knows where he lives. Hutchins says he's found his five minutes of fame "horrible", and has since taken steps to find out how the press hunted him down in the first place. Hutchins, who clearly knows his stuff when it comes to cybersecurity, says there's no way he could have protected himself against it. He has received messages of support from his followers, who expressed their dismay at the British press for following him, and likened it to the behavior of a stalker. People also suggested that he and others should "dox" the journalists involved, which means searching for private information about them and publishing it online. Hutchins has asked his followers not to do this, and says he just wanted to let everyone know that he hadn't sought out the spotlight and wished to avoid it as much as possible. He has since decided which charities to give the reward money to. "I'm definitely not a hero," he told the Associated Press. "I'm just someone doing my bit to stop botnets." Here is my 1 Naira, giving I was once in this position. Follow this two rules and you would be better for it. Rule No 1: Learn to love yourself first of all, and what do you do when you love yourself, invest in yourself, hit the gym, socialise with people without the need to be attached to them, possess a positive attitude and understand that you cannot control what the ladies you meet do, you can only control how you respond to what they do, therein lies the power. you also need to learn to be comfortable being uncomfortable. Rule No 2: Never forget Rule No 1. Apply it and you would be Happy. |
[quote author=Kenshinmunac post=52051617]*sigh* searching and searching for a girlfriend, all to no avail. Young cool fine guy, but very lonely, no girlfriend. I don't think at this point with all this rejection that I will ever get married in life. I have searching for a gf, met some girls who turned out to be nasty gold diggers, I didn't wanna waste my time on them cause I'm not a flirt, I'm not looking for a short term relationship so having "fun" with all these girls seemed like a waste of time to me as Sex is not my problem, love is. So I met this girl few days back, we got talking, I fell for her instantly, she looked calm and very honest, she is not all these girls who do kk in chat, she is caring and very simple, hard to come by., we flowed really well chatting and I was very happy I found someone as I quickly asked her out and she said "let's see how it goes" I said okay, so today being Sunday, normal chilling day, I called her, very eager to see her beautiful face once more, we got talking and she said I should come to her side. So I said okay by six, Six reach I entered road straight to her side, 30 mins drive, when I got close I dialled her number twice she didn't pick I thought maybe she was taking her bath or something was patient and kept on going, so when I got there by 7pm, I called and called but she didn't pick up the call and she was expecting me o! Na so I begin call her, Even send whatsapp message and direct message all to no avail. I got so maddddd and pissed off, I almost cried because I don't know why I'm being treated like this by ladies. Head to toe I complete, face I fine, fashion sense Is great, but yet, my handsomeness and the growing cash I get can't even get me the slightest fly talk less about a lady *sigh* By 5 mins past 8 she called me, by then I was already going home, and she began to plead, this where error words. "please I'm sorry, my elder brother took my phone to share WiFi, I didn't know he would go far" I asked "didn't you tell him you were expecting someone"?" She replied" i did na but he did not listen, I can't just come and stand on the road and be waiting for you, please don't be angry" In my heart I said Chai! What kind of excuse is this?? This girl just told me indirectly that I'm not important. So painful. I see guys with their girl very happy preparing for Christmas, me i have none. All I do is admire beautiful couples and wish It could be...... Unfortunately the sad reality greets me in my face. I begin to lose my self confidence gradually because of rejection. Smh, all I feel right now is self pity, all I can do is lament. I don't know if I just dislike women right. Here is my 1 Naira, giving I was once in this position. Follow this two rules and you would be better for it.
