I work in a big organization and I'm also a supervisor, so I can relate with your story.
I've worked with a junior colleague who frequently showed me attitudes that suggested she felt I wasn't qualified enough to be her supervisor. Direct instructions from me would be treated with disdain, even though she'll eventually carry out the instructions.
I would care less. I don't care if you greet me in the morning or not. I don't care if you respect me on a personal level. Just make sure you do your work well. If not, I would issue queries and keep documenting them. I will make sure to pile up the queries.
When I have accumulated enough queries, I would forward all to human resources and let them take their decision.
Your husband has to make sure he doesn't have any sexual entanglement with that lady or the table might turn against him. He should examine their previous calls/chats, if there were any, to be sure they didn't contain sexual innuendos because she might have kept such evidence to use against him.
