If elected officials had a means by which they could be held accountable to and for the campaign promises and also their allocations they would be forced to sit up. From roads, to power, investments, job creation, ect. being monitored on a platform would keep the masses abreast of exactly what was transpiring in the halls of power. I won't lie I like it. I'm going to bookmark this page and follow your account. Hopefully you don't get banned or anything but if I can help or get any new ideas I'll bump this thread. To now I'm being asked about why PMB hasn't arrested Amaechi and Mama Abacha as if that has any significance to the initial discussion. Would you prefer is PMB allowed all previous looters to go free? Or do you want some of the ill gotten wealth to come back? Last I checked there have been an awful lot of Northern governors, officials and other politicians who have been probed, prosecuted, arrested and even forced to return loot. Buhari flagged off the Ogoni cleanup which GEJ didn't do for 6 YEARS! but oh yes let's call him a bigot! He made sure to include the Lagos Calabar rail in the budget that even SS reps and senators allowed to be excluded so they could feed fat on the National Cake. Ben Bruce, Akpabio, Ekweremadu all kept silent. PMB went out of his way to make sure the rail goes through Ekiti after the engineers omitted the state from the initial plans just to prove he is a president of all the people. Is he perfect? No and no again! But the man is trying to fix a nation that has be ruined for decades. Aisha Buhari's media trial has been laid to rest so please give it a rest. Amaechi is being probed at present and if Wike had anything on him he would have thrown the book at him a long time ago like all the new governors have done to their predecessors. So now that I've played your game and answered all of your questions in full please be respectful and respond in kind by answering the initial question that was posed in the very first post in this thread. Local politics always trumps national. When we can get it right at the state level naturally the rest of the country will come flocking. Already look at how people keep ranting and raving about Anambra. The other 4 SE states have the same potentials but lack honest leadership. The federal allocations if used properly will bloom the SE like nobody's business. blues20 I love your ideas. Do you have any plans or is this just the starting point? falxx:Your neighbors for one. Your actions would lower the property value of the surrounding area. The homeowner's association in some locales can actually evict an owner that is ruining the environment. In the case of the ND they are not helping themselves. I'm completely against the injustice that they have suffered at the hands of the IOC and previous gov'ts but this present rampage is uncalled for after the relative peace of the past 6 years. There are plans in place to improve the region but they have cut their nose to spite their face. We are all suffering as a result. I want resource control. I want federalism. I want development but blowing up assets will do nothing to further the cause. Who in their right mind will invest where people behave like this and are applauded? |
