Hello Dinocarex, Please how old is your dog now? If the dog is still less than 6 months, I doubt it will bite you (90% sure it won't). When I bought my male puppy, it would not even eat when we are around and he was wary of everyone. What I did was create really quality time to play with him. With time he began to trust me and today he takes me as a father figure. Put some enticing treat (say meat) on your palm and take it close to him. If he growls, drop the piece for him and step some distance. If he doesn't eat. leave and check from time to time if he has eaten it. Do this continuously say up to 5 times a day for some days. Please avoid raising you voice at the dog or beating him. When he agrees to come out of the cage. play the game that dogs like where they chase you. Run around and stop. Continue for some time and make sure he is watching. He will definitely become interested soon. Also, do not be afraid like I said previously as I don't think the dog will bite you as I assume he is still at a young age. Don't sell the dog. He just needs love and attention. I must tell you, most foreign dogs require a lot of attention and are usually really scared a young age. |
Oga Gboisgroups, I don't know you and I don't know Tobi. However, my dogs are not for sale. They are family to me. Even when I have puppies from these beautiful dogs, I'll make sure that only responsible owners are sold to. Your so called Tobi said that you gave him my number and he is telling me that he heard that I own a dog on Nairaland and that Biggy which I assume to be you wants to sell the dog, .... My advise is that you endeavour to do your business legitimately and not post pixes of one dog and sell another dog. Someone seeing the pix of my dog might become interested and you will definitely send another dog, that's if you even actually have any dog to sell in the first place. Nairaland in an online forum and we must all try to sanitize it so that people's businesses are not put at risk. You say that you are not a scammer and your friend Tobi has also alluded to that fact. But how else can I describe a person that does't know me but puts my dog up for sale. He even has my contact number and pixes of my dogs even the one that is dead and might even advertise the dead dog for sale in future. Nairalanders, I beg make una contribute ooooo!!!!! I bought a dog from Bobbysaxy without knowing him and he delivered quality as promised. I have since recommended countless customers to him. So many others are also on Nairaland: Jado, BSquared, just to mention a few with good testimonies. I beg moderator, I think you should investigate this case and people like these should be sanctioned or out rightly blacklisted from the group. |
Oga Gboisgroup abi na wetin be your name. Why you wan help me sell my male Caucasian wey I no send you. Why you come dey post the picture of my male caucasian wan take scam people na. Maybe you truely get a male Caucasian for sale but dey shame to post the picture. That's why we are always advised to water mark our posted pictures because of crooks like you. I'm absolutely sure that none of the dogs that you posted exist and you are just trying to scam Nairalanders in this terrible period of recession. My guy, I beg repent oooooo! The kingdom of God is at hand. By the way, My Cauc was around 13 months in the pixes and not 9 months and he is now about a year and eleven months. @ Countsparrow. U can add me on WhatsApp or call on 08051286114 |
Hello CountSparrow. These are the kinds of Vets we should run from. There is a full sticker on the body of the vaccine that must be removed and pasted on the pet book after which the bet signs and writes the date of vaccination and the next due date. My fear is that your pup might not be properly vaccinated and might be at risk just like my vet exposed Kiara preventable epidemics like Parvovirus. My Vet even tried by putting half a sticker meaning that he was sharing one vaccine for two dogs. Consult a reputable Vet ooo. Just an advise. |
Sorry @ okikiosibodu for my late reply. I lost the female (Kiara) to Parvo. My Vet gave a fake vaccination and I did not know. It was not until she fell sick that the new Vet looked at the pet book and discovered that the sticker from the supposed vaccination was fake. Anyway, the new pup, Nala who will be 9 months of the 9th of September is doing great and really comforting us. She was 8 months in the pix that I posted while the male (Kovu) was 1 year and 10 months there. Pixes are posted again.

I love the paws of the male. |
Hello Tadeus, I inuired about Toyota Highlander 2007 model previously and you replied. How much will it also cost for a Toyota Highlander 2007 model with third row seat. Thanx. |
Hello Tadeus, What will it cost me to get a Toyota Highlander 2007 and 2009 to Nigeria. Thanx. |
Hello Tadeus, I must say that you are doing a great job for us Nairalanders on here. Despite the enormous requests, you always find the time to provide the information requested. Nice one. Please do keep it up Val. |
Kovu and Nala both Caucasians. I lost my female (Kiara) that I previously posted.

Hello guys You all recall Bobbysaxy's Hallelujah puppy? Pixes at exactly 8 months.
|
@Fruzzy, I thinks its more to do with their age. I had to send my adult male for intensive training at 9 months. He was just impossible. However, I read that by a year six months Caucs tend to mature and some of their antics would be dropped, that's apart from aggression which gets worse everyday. I don't know the age of your dogs but by the time they are two years plus to three years I believe that the Caucs, particularly would cool down even if they only had obedience training which you can handle yourself. Slant backs are usually easier to handle as they are eager to please the owner and really extremely intelligent even if I dare say that apart from the Caucs frequent stubbornness they are nearly as intelligent as GSD. I trained my male for 90K (both aggressive and obedience training) and swore that I would train all my other dogs myself. Truthfully, aggressive training is not necessary for Caucs and I have been able to teach the younger female all the commands (obedience)that my trainer charged me heavily for. Sorry if I am deviating from the thread. |
@Fruzzy, I have two Caucs and they will never bark unless there is need for them to do so. |
Fruzzy, thanks for the point that you noted about dogs that will be agitated for example when chained or locked up, especially pups that are just being introduced to such situations. However, we often abuse such training and a dogs might be trying to communicate a serious situation and the owner hushes the dog. I cannot see any reasonable dog barking all night or all day if the situation does not warrant it. Definitely, there might be times when you might want your dog to be quiet. But let owners not abuse such training and at the end of the day defeat the purpose of having a dog that alerts in case of a security threat or any other situation worthy of alerting the owner. |
I hear people use the word "excessive barking" and I wonder what they mean. Like you rightly noted, barking is natural for dogs and it is their way of communicating. Different breeds have different characteristics and that means different breeds will bark differently. Stopping a dog from carrying out his or her natural inclination could have negative effect on the dog and ultimately result in poor communication possibly out of fear for the owner. I think what we should be concerned about is recognizing what message our dogs are trying to pass across any time they bark. With my dog, the following messages are always clearly communicated whenever he barks: 1. When he is in distress, i.e., the leach is tangled; he wants to poop or wee. 2. When he is excited. 3. When there is danger or he senses an intruder around his territory. 4. When the danger or presence of an intruder is too close for comfort just to mention a few. So let us understand the message that our dogs are passing across rather than hushing them. |
This is definitely not 9 weeks sir. The puppy fur is all gone at 9 weeks? This is minimum, 12 weeks plus. Please your calculation again. Thanx. |
Bobby. This one make sense! She will be welcome in my house. Nala is pleading that she be sent over to improve her company. Nice one as usual. |
Yeah. \ The pup was gotten from Bobbysaxy. Really huge paws. Check out the mini dairy of the pup on Bobbysaxy's thread: “U Will Shout HALLELUYAH Wen U See The Female Caucasian Puppies...for Sale”. |

Hi Bobby, You recall your Hallelujah puppy? Pixes at 5 months plus

Nice one Bobby. Excellent Pups as usual. These pups are the bomb! |
Hello Resurgence. Extremely valuable info that you have presented to us pet lovers in the pet sector. Information like these are what makes this section fun to be in. I was particularly struck by the information that the Caucasian Ovcharka, originating in the Caucasus Mountains is not a man-made dog breed but a naturally occurring breed (Source: http://www.earthporm.com/23-chubby-puppies-mistaken-teddy-bears/). We all know the aggression of the Caucasian, although many Nigerians are still of the view that many Caucasians are lazy, timid and not aggressive. However, it is well documented that the Caucasian Ovcharka is one dog breed where not being aggressive is a fault. I have a male Caucasian that from the first day he arrived my house, I knew that I had procured a wild animal and not a dog. If you come around him, he would take some time to process the information as though assessing the object coming close to him. The pup was however not aggressive growing up to the extent that people called him "whimppy kid". But from a year two months till date (about a year seven months now), you just cannot control him when a visitor comes around. Except for those of us in the house, no other person whether you come to my house every day or not can walk in my compound if the dog is not chained or locked in his house. The same thing goes for a friend's Caucasian that is not far from my house. And when my attacks as seen on two occasions, he actually pounces on the victim as though going for the face or neck as opposed to going for a leg bite of hand bite. He also enjoys hunting and on many occasions, we just wake up and see blood all over the compound. I eventually caught him when he killed a dove and when I attempted to rescue the dove from him, I nearly got bitten. I eventually aborted the rescue mission and locked the dog up for two days as punishment. I eventually realized his wild instincts are still there. If not for the love that these breeds have been known to show for family members as well as their loyalty, they should not even be brought near our homes. Even introducing new people to them is extremely difficult and they often refuse to accept new people especially for Caucasians from the age of a year and a half upwards. I'll like to know other people's thoughts. |
I specifically mentioned the type of milk required (baby milk for new born). I hope you are not giving the pup normal or adult milk as the digestive system will definitely not be able to handle it. I'm not saying adult milk will kill the pup, but you will not get results in terms of nutrition and expected growth. Anyway, like the previous posted noted, "pix please"!!!! |
Please what are you doing with a 2 weeks old puppy. Where is the mother of the pup? Please the pup requires very close attention in terms of warmth and feeding. I would advise you to get NAN baby milk for new born (goes for about #1500) or Lactogen for new born (goes for about #1200). Also ensure that there are rags in the house or paper so that the pup does not catch cold. For me all my pups stay indoors with me at night in a special corner provided, until they are about 10 weeks. Please pay close attention to the pup. All the best. |
Actually, some large breed dogs are quite timid until they become mature and then realize them self. I have three experiences. 1. My male Caucasian from Jos, now a year and six months rarely barked until around 6 to 7 months. Even at that, it was not until between one year and a year two months that he showed the true Caucasian in him. He would not want to see any visitors anymore. He was also very friendly to other dogs before that age but now he wants to be the dominant one around both dogs and humans. Most importantly, he is not an excessive barker and will only bark when there is a threat even now. 2. I got a female a female Caucasian still from Jos (now late, though - died at 7 months) that was an excessive barker and highly aggressive even at less than 3 months. The problem is that from my research, Caucasians are not excessive barkers. Although my family loved are for her aggression, I was always skeptical about how pure of a breed she really was because of some traits she demonstrated (excessive barking, she was not coordinated, she was not intelligent, e.t.c). Looking at her size and physical feature that were exceptional however made everyone love the dog. 3. I replaced the female that died with an exceptional female that I bought from Ibadan. This pup now 4 months has even better exceptional physical features than the female that died, combined with the intelligence and coordinated characteristic of my male. She rarely barks except when playing with the male or when other dogs are barking at her young age and I am not bothered because of my previous experience with the male. When visitors come in or knock at the get and the big male is barking, she just watches. I know when she matures, a lot of these traits change. The bottom line is: don't be envious of your neighbour's loud dog. Yours might just be of better quality and purity. From what I know, Bull Mastiffs are even tempered and intelligent dogs. So be patient with your dog. If by 1 year to 1 year and 6 months, he is still like that and timid, then we can say its a fault. For now, be patient. All the best. |
14 weeks is still small now. Anyway please post the pix of the pup. |
Guys. Bobbysaxy sell dogs una complain. Some attack am. He sing him own song. Una still dey complain. I watched that video and recommended to him some parts that I felt he could still work on as the video is still in production. You guys can constructively contribute to what you feel will make this our video and song a big hit. Bobbysaxy is our man ooo nairalanders. Let us celebrate our own. |
But why will you cross two very dissimilar breeds like Alsatian and Rott in the first place. What traits will this dog have -mixed of course. Sorry, not spoiling your market but I see a disaster waiting to happen here. |
Hello Tadeus, Still expecting your reply. Thanx. |
Hello Tadeus, I made an inquiry yesterday on ML 500, 2009 and 2011 models and you stated what my budget should be. I will like to know what it will cost for a GL350 2009 to 2011 models and which of the ML500 or GL350 you would advise one to go for. Thanx. |
