that was below the belt, a lot of us are financially tied to our clubs, i am a gold member, and pay my dues, its not shares but i have the pivilegde of knowing my money goes a little way in doing stuff, i ain't in England no more so i can't attend matches (even when i was there i wasn't a season ticket holder, but i did attend some matches) Oga V has sent us some pics of the Grove before it was commisioned so either he went there as a visitor or he did some work there and you have no evidence to show that he has not spent his hard earned money in one way or the other to support the club.

My ties with the club run deep, i had a cousin who used to play in the academy, and we all supported him so we had to support the club, unfortunately he couldn't make the cut. Anyway whether you have share or money in a club is not the issue, how many of us had shares in Eyimba when they played in the CL and won twice, but for us Eyimba of aba, became Eyimba of Nigeria.

Fellowship runs beyond financial commitments. For Christ sakes i subscribe to MUTV and Chelsea TV just because i love to watch football from different angles so now i should try and get my money back since i am contributing to your clubs

When did blackburn and Bolton become big boys out of those two teams Bolton has been our bogey team, but unlike the last two season, we now have more of a balance to our squad.

Right now we must just take each game as it comes not worry about future teams, we are the team on form, with some important wins under our belts, all we have to do is win tommorow against CSKM so that we can leave the CL (as we could actually qualify for the next round if we win) and concentrate on the Carling Cup and the Prem. Believe me we won't lose 11 games this season.

Our key games are still against Chelski, the Pool both home and away and then return leg against the Scum of Manchester.

Just go out and support the team, This year has so much instore for us gooners, so all gooners wear your colours with pride

Abeg no mind me, I try to not enter silly arguements, can't really remember when last i responded to something jackal posted. But the problem is he responds to my posts, well i really do not have a problem with that, its his sly remarks that makes me want to respond to him,

please check all my posts pre-jackal coming into the discussions, and honestly tell me if i made any comments insulting Seun or Mochafella, but as usual jackal always turns everything between us into an arsenal/Man U rift, and i remember informing him to not only stop doing this, but to stick to his points and leave all the name calling and posturing for somewhere else, but as usual he doesn't listen. Tell me honestly Akola, if in any of my replies i refered to him as a comedian, do you honestly think he would not take that as an insult and respond back accordingly. You know the truth, but you act as if i am the one starting all this stuff, instead of calling him to order, Oga Olotorin actually told him to stick to his arguements and stop all the "loyika is talking heresy!! bulls@#t". But i guess you guys are tight so its easy to put the blame on someone else. Fair enough.

Anyway i have always maintained that the only reason jackal gets away with all this stuff is because we are on the net, if not all his "trash talking" would have stoped a long time ago, i mean "When i don't like someone i don't pretend to and the next time he spews shit will be his last time.

Jackal i really believe something is really wrong with you mentally, so i will not bother replying as it could become contagious.

Ask yourself this, Why is it that you are the only one on this Forum i have a problem with, look at all the discussions before you decided to join in, I, Oga Seun, Oga Mocha and Mr Olotorin were engaging in some constructive discussions. But you just had to come in with your normal insults. ok here goes

First let me deal with Oga kola's initial thread

Every team does things that are within the law in trying to get an advantage over another team. so the stadium stuff is not new. Even Arsene tries to make sure the pitches both at highbury and the Grove suit Arsenal's way of playing, thats why the pitch is generally watered to make it slick for easy quick pass move, and the grass is cut so low so that the balls are not slowed down (thats why he always makes excuses when Arsenal lose by blaming the pitch of other clubs)

A clear example of this was when Pompey were angry that their game against Arsenal last season was prosphoned when Arsenal complained about the water logged pitch, whereas Harry R felt the pitch was playable (because he knew his team were used to playing under those conditions and would have a legitimate advantage over the visitors)

This is a legitimate strategy, the problem with Chelski is that the whole thing sounds cynical . WHY ONLY BARCA last year as well, Must you always do work on your pitch when ever barca comes calling . why must the tie always be shrouded in one mystery or the other. just play the damn game over any pitch and beat them .

Anyway on the other hand, Barca have a ready made excuse if they lose, what next!? chelsea put itching powder on the seats of the opposing teams dressing rooms!?
Typical spanish tross , even if a truck load of sand is poured on the pitch, if you are the best team in the world, as we all keep hearing, you should win anywhere. Pray tell what did W Bremen do to almost give you a bloody nose (thank God for Messi)

World-class players aren't really that world-class any more, are they? Actually, that's unfair: today's top stars have no peers when it comes to promoting Pringles, themselves, Adidas, themselves, themselves, EA Sports and themselves. But when they finally get round to pulling on their sponsored boots, there aren't too many of them who consistently deliver when it really matters. Here's that Fifa 2006 world player of the year shortlist in full:

Adriano (Internazionale, Brazil): This club-footed oaf spent the summer single-handedly dismantling the last vestiges of Brazil's tedious Mexico-70 samba-dancing joga-bonito Nike-advertising-agency nonsense once and for all. For that at least, the poor man's Emile Heskey has our thanks.

Michael Ballack (Chelsea, Germany): His only meaningful action in the World Cup saw him hoofing a free-kick three miles over the bar at the business end of Germany's semi-final against Italy. By the end of his Lampardesque year, the "best" all-action midfielder in the world was reduced to panicked two-footed lunges on the best all-action midfielder in the world, Momo Sissoko. Shame shame shame.

Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus, Italy): Has spent an entire career behind defences which leave him with precious few crucial saves to make, so who really knows what he's capable of? Apart from Luis García? And Cesc Fábregas? Anyway, seeing that he makes Borat Sagdiyev look more hand-wringingly liberal than George Monbiot, even if he had six eight-fingered hands on extended springs he could eff off.

Fabio Cannavaro (Real Madrid, Italy): Wildly over-rated in the World Cup on account of having a) nothing really to do in any of the matches he was involved in other than saunter about, and b) nice hair. Currently in La Liga doing a passable impression of a slightly more confused Rio Ferdinand.

Petr Cech (Chelsea, Czech Republic): Dodgy on crosses, as the Greeks revealed in Euro 2004. Also, he's just let in a goal by Kevin Kilbane. Next!

Deco (Barcelona, Portugal): Sent off against Holland for the most idiotic ball-handling offence since the days of Claudio Caniggia. And that's about it.

Didier Drogba (Chelsea, Ivory Coast): Finally he pays back a whack of that £24m fee with 16 goals in the calendar year to date. Not bad, but for the record, that's five less than Peter Crouch has managed in the same period.

Michael Essien (Chelsea, Ghana): Currently having the rumbustiousness sucked out of him by Jose Mourinho's careful-careful coaching plan. Makes list ahead of Arjen Robben and Damien Duff, you'll note.

Luis Figo (Internazionale, Portugal): The holder of the world's most over-rated player trophy for five consecutive years from 1999, Figo finally got a chance to make a bid for immortality in this year's World Cup semi-final. And was marginally less successful than he was with his "performance" in the Euro 2004 final.

Gennaro Gattuso (AC Milan, Italy): Robbie Savage with a beard.

Steven Gerrard (Liverpool, England): A couple of timely goals in Cardiff, there, Stevie. Though seeing you're always banging on about how your best position is in centre midfield, aren't you slightly embarrassed that every single time your club manager relents and lets you play there, there's enough room down the middle to spin a few doughnuts into an articulated lorry?

Thierry Henry (Arsenal, France): Didn't show in World Cup 98. Outshone by Wiltord (!) and Trezeguet (!!!) in Euro 2000. Failed to step up to the plate in Korea/Japan or Euro 2004. Sulked like a baby after going missing in this year's Champions League final. Took a dive, though he is not a woman, against both Spain and Portugal in Germany. And in the final he went miss , ah what the hell. One of the favourites, it says here!

Kaka (AC Milan, Brazil): Totally off form for the entire year.

Philippe Lahm (Bayern Munich, Germany): A purler to open the World Cup for the Germans; nowhere to be seen when Fabio Grosso closed it for them.

Frank Lampard (Chelsea, England): Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Jens Lehmann (Arsenal, Germany): Outstanding penalty save to help Arsenal reach the Champions League final; outstandingly poor decision-making in Paris to make them wish they hadn't bothered.

Juan Román Riquelme (Villarreal, Argentina): Have you ever seen anyone more nailed-on to miss a penalty than Riquelme in the last minute of that Champions League semi-final? Just look at those flickering eyes. If you're not blinded by the glistening beads of sweat forming on his forehead, that is. Nearly redeemed himself in the summer with a couple of fantastic displays for his country, but again went missing when it came to the crunch. José Pekerman wasn't the only Argentinian whose brain went into meltdown during the quarter-finals.

Ronaldinho (Barcelona, Brazil): Those showreel flicks look real nice on Soccer AM's Skills Pedalo. But they don't seem to do the business very often in Champions League semi-finals, finals or crucial World Cup matches, do they?

Wayne Rooney (Manchester United, England): Has failed to score a goal in the Champions League or in international football for two years. For the record, that's 13 fewer than Peter Crouch has managed in the same period.

Tomas Rosicky (Arsenal, Czech Republic): Currently engaged in a heavyweight tussle with Dimitar Berbatov to be crowned the most lightweight player plying his trade in north London. This nomination also suggests he's had a better 12 months than Fábregas, doesn't it?

Andriy Shevchenko (Chelsea, Ukraine): Currently having the rumbustiousness sucked out of him by Jose Mourinho's careful-careful coaching plan to such an extent that he's been reduced to diving against Scotland! Oh dear. How the mighty have fallen (with triple salchow and pike).

Lilian Thuram (Barcelona, France): Fantastic six years ago. Can we vote for Ronaldo, Laurent Blanc and Fernando Redondo as well?

Patrick Vieira (Internazionale, France): Arsène knows.

Zinédine Zidane (retired, France): For all his many faults, most of which were blatantly apparent before the World Cup final, Zizou has been the one "world-class" player in the last decade who's ever bothered himself enough to step it up a gear at the business end of tournaments. And now he's gone. Help! Someone's broken football!

You'll note I left out from Fifa's list Samuel Eto'o, Franck Ribéry, Miroslav Klose, Andrea Pirlo, Alessandro Nesta and the fantastic, adversity-shunning twinkletoes of Cristiano Ronaldo. All of whom were, well, not bad. And in any case, you can't be finding fault in everyone just to make a facile point, can you?

Since you give Ruud's Awards, (lets not go there cause you know you cannot even compare the two based on Awards and honours, but i will follow Oga Mocha's thoughts that Awards and Honours are subjective in nature, so can't really be seen as scientifical)

How many players have won FWA Awards three years how many years has Ruud been top scorer in Prem league. Jackal ok do you feel the Dutch league is better than the Ligue 1. How many years did Henry spend in Italy, if you feel he is a failure.

Do not put the Spainish league cause he has just started, will he end up as Top scorer lets wait and see. jackal you and i know that ruud felt he was forced out of Old trafford, so he never really wanted to go to Real, but he is there. Henry had a choice to go to Barca, but chose otherwise, doesn't sum up that he can't make it there. The spainish league is not as rough as the italian and Prem. Jackal you know this.

Sheva has not clicked yet for Chelsea, does that mean he won't prove himself in the Prem, and even if he doesn't, then will we say he is not a good striker

Jackal ok then take away 3 years from Henry's goal exploits in the Prem 99, 00 and 06 and add both their goal tallies. who has scored more goals Now if your answer is Henry, I beg to ask, " what exactly are you all saying. You mentioned goals ratio, i quote someone that knows a whole bloody lot about football (esp the prem) i repeat Jackal give me evidence to back your claims. If Henry has scored more goals than Ruud, even taking away 2 full seasons and this season as Ruud is no longer in the Prem, how can you say Ruud's ratio is higher. Even tlyer states that it is very close, but that T Henry is just slightly better.

ok jackal, if henry is a local champion as you claim, Please list the Big teams ruud has scored his goals against and compare them with Thierry, also how can you call someone that has won the World cup, Confed Cup and Euro Cup a local champ, you see what i mean you keep going back to the Arsenal thing, cause you keep looking at Henry with Arsenal thats why you keep refering to Uefa and the CL.
