Oga Kit ![]() Leave these folks oh Arsenal is playing now. GOONER 89 |
Please folks where is Teeroy and all those who love Real Madrid, cause their club is in trouble, (even with all their killer strike force, or so we are meant to believe) where is Ruud when you need a goal ![]() http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/2006/10/16/capello_on_the_defensive_as_sh.html And before anyone says anything, i watched highlights of the game ![]() i wouldn't wish that match on my enemies. 1, What is the problem is it the coach or the players ![]() 2, Is the problem with the board ![]() 3, should there be a general clear out at the bernabau ![]() Anyway its early days, i mean Barca is only leading Real by like points GOONER 89 |
Oga kola ![]() that was below the belt, a lot of us are financially tied to our clubs, i am a gold member, and pay my dues, its not shares but i have the pivilegde of knowing my money goes a little way in doing stuff, i ain't in England no more so i can't attend matches (even when i was there i wasn't a season ticket holder, but i did attend some matches) Oga V has sent us some pics of the Grove before it was commisioned so either he went there as a visitor or he did some work there and you have no evidence to show that he has not spent his hard earned money in one way or the other to support the club. My ties with the club run deep, i had a cousin who used to play in the academy, and we all supported him so we had to support the club, unfortunately he couldn't make the cut. Anyway whether you have share or money in a club is not the issue, how many of us had shares in Eyimba when they played in the CL and won twice, but for us Eyimba of aba, became Eyimba of Nigeria. Fellowship runs beyond financial commitments. For Christ sakes i subscribe to MUTV and Chelsea TV just because i love to watch football from different angles so now i should try and get my money back since i am contributing to your clubs ![]() Anyway to cool the tension let me post a link on how Jens has decided keepers should protect themselves, enjoy folks ![]() http://leftback.info/?p=30 GOONER 89 |
Oga V ![]() I totally disagree with you, Wenger would have been livid Look at the way he attacked Martin Jol after the game with the spuds AFTER THEIR GOAL, look at the issue against sunderland when Diaby was tackled). Any Manager will be Mad not only JoseHere thoughts from wenger and our German terminator Jens http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,277-2407127,00.html and http://www.arsenal.com/article.asp?thisNav=news&article=422365&cpid=703&title=Lehmann+-+Goalkeepers+need+more+respect+and+protection I will be the first to admit that Jose gives whinig a new meaning but lets be honest "Le Prof" is also a chief whiner himself, he has just met a better match in Maureen ![]() GOONER 89 |
Or till Roman A decides he is bored with Chelski and moves on to something else (and chelsea go bankrupt ) GOONER 89 |
Oga Hustler abeg oh!!!That article was written as a hmourous piece, why don't we nigerians understand sarcasm We are getting as bad as the Americans . Did he not make comments about everyone nominated, all his statements were made "tongue in cheek" thats why i pasted it for us to all have a good laugh, not for everyone to start defending the player they liked. The award will go to which ever player it goes to, we all have no say in the desicion, all we can do is discuss it on our footie forum. Hope i have explained it better for you .But concerning the thread; i doubt Kaka will pick it up, like i said either an italian will win it or Henry will pick it up (although it should go to Zidane, but i guess his head got in the way ) GOONER 89 |
Oga Belloti, When did blackburn and Bolton become big boys out of those two teams Bolton has been our bogey team, but unlike the last two season, we now have more of a balance to our squad. Right now we must just take each game as it comes not worry about future teams, we are the team on form, with some important wins under our belts, all we have to do is win tommorow against CSKM so that we can leave the CL (as we could actually qualify for the next round if we win) and concentrate on the Carling Cup and the Prem. Believe me we won't lose 11 games this season. Our key games are still against Chelski, the Pool both home and away and then return leg against the Scum of Manchester. Just go out and support the team, This year has so much instore for us gooners, so all gooners wear your colours with pride ![]() GOONER 89 |
Oga kola don't bother; Oga Dennylove , i presume you are on the net somewhere, please just go to google, since i cannot be bothered to respond properly to what you have said, and put in the names Arsene Wenger and click and read all the info that comes out, then do the same with Sir Alex, and then just relax and come back and then make statements that make sense, cause what you just said didn't.Anyway its like that sometimes, i mean a friend of mine all this while actually thought Micheal Jackson had a child by Billy Jean becuase of the song , we didn't laugh at him cause we all realised that he was serious, so we all took our time to explain to him that the song wasn't actually refering to anyone in real life. ![]() This Oga Dennylove is your "billy jean" moment, so you will be forgiven. ![]() Take things easy man ![]() GOONER 89 |
Oga Kola ![]() Abeg no mind me, I try to not enter silly arguements, can't really remember when last i responded to something jackal posted. But the problem is he responds to my posts, well i really do not have a problem with that, its his sly remarks that makes me want to respond to him, please check all my posts pre-jackal coming into the discussions, and honestly tell me if i made any comments insulting Seun or Mochafella, but as usual jackal always turns everything between us into an arsenal/Man U rift, and i remember informing him to not only stop doing this, but to stick to his points and leave all the name calling and posturing for somewhere else, but as usual he doesn't listen. Tell me honestly Akola, if in any of my replies i refered to him as a comedian, do you honestly think he would not take that as an insult and respond back accordingly. You know the truth, but you act as if i am the one starting all this stuff, instead of calling him to order, Oga Olotorin actually told him to stick to his arguements and stop all the "loyika is talking heresy!! bulls@#t". But i guess you guys are tight so its easy to put the blame on someone else. Fair enough. Anyway i have always maintained that the only reason jackal gets away with all this stuff is because we are on the net, if not all his "trash talking" would have stoped a long time ago, i mean "When i don't like someone i don't pretend to and the next time he spews shit will be his last time. I will have the paramedics wrap his fucking head like a Hindu." Guy don't make me laugh, but anyway its your style so no probs. Oga Kola to stop all this, i believe that i and jackal should just avoid each other on this forum, that would be to the best interests of all involved. GOONER 89 |
Oga kola ![]() Oga V has a point, you do start up funny threads on other managers especially Wenger, so just live with it when it is dished back. Secondly Oga JK ![]() Oga V keep on my guy, cause Oga kola should learn how it feels when he starts all does Anti Wenger Threads. I will just be neutral on this one (or play the Devils advocate) Oga kola please do not quote me oh!! ![]() GOONER 89 |
But Oga V ![]() Every manager does that sometimes, even Le Prof goes ballistics sometimes when it is not necessary (like his outburst during the Arsenal/Spud game at Highbury last season). I just think Maureen was frustrated with the Barca tie coming up, any manger would be. Its just that Maureen makes a habit of it, which it seems you are saying, and in that i agree with you. Anyway Oga V he has a ready made excuse if Barca win. "BLAME IT ON READING!!" ![]() GOONER 89 |
By the way, "FRANK SPENCER" is not a name of a comedian as you claim, the name is Micheal Crawford, and Frank spencer is a character. As tempting as it seems i will keep my words and just leave it as that. Cheers!! GOONER 89 |
Jackal i really believe something is really wrong with you mentally, so i will not bother replying as it could become contagious. Ask yourself this, Why is it that you are the only one on this Forum i have a problem with, look at all the discussions before you decided to join in, I, Oga Seun, Oga Mocha and Mr Olotorin were engaging in some constructive discussions. But you just had to come in with your normal insults. YOU STARTED THIS, and i remember telling you not to turn this into an Arsenal/Man U thing) but yet you still kept up with your sly remarks, first you accused me of talking Heresy, then you say i am a comedian. Even besides your name, i put up the "cool" icon, but as usual you just can't help being you (and like i have been told privately by other Nairaland forum members, thats the way you just are, so continuing this arguement will be a waste of not only my time, but everyone else) So lets do this can we, this is a free forum and you are allowed to post whatever you like, but Jackal please from now on do not reply anything i put up, you can reply any other person, thats your perogative, but i am appealing to you, just ignore anything i put up, and i will do like wise, cause if you don't know, thats what this whole issue has come to. I am saying this openly to you. Like i said (and have also mentioned to other memebers privately) the only reason you do this is because we are on the internet, so any one can be as silly/arrogant and abusive as they want to, Even when i started i soon realised that not everyone on the forum took kindly to sarcastic comments, so i adjusted myself so as not to offend anyone. But as i said "you have your own style" and if everyone else is used to you or just avoids getting into conmfrontations with you thats their business. So i believe we are now on the same wave length. And your statement about liking or not liking someone, I really don't know how to reply that, the whole thing just makes me laugh.Anyway, its just too bad, but thats the way it has to be. I hope this arrangement is ok with you as this stupid arguement is making everyone feel annoyed, i will not reply anything you post, and i hope you do like wise. I think this arrangement will suit everyone fine. Cheers!! GOONER 89 |
@ Jackal "Loyika is no doubt a comedian" The differences between you and i are so clear, normally these statements would call for an unsavoury comment or reply, but heres where i will show my maturity, which is a big element you seem to lack. i really don't know if you were born into a household where you were insulted first thing in the morning and last thing at night before you went to bed, cause you do not know how to respect people, calling people names like "jokers", "comedians" "soccer novices/illiterates" and so on. As for the topic at hand, we will agree to disagree as i really do not think we should bore anyone again with this, seeing that we will never agree on the issue. Oga Mocha What part of me saying that Ruud beats Henry in europe do you not understand (i have said it so loud, i am turning blue in the face) Thank God you agree with me Grudgingly on the Prem stats (thats why we need to put up evidence and not just make claims, if not for M Tyler you would not have accepted that either. whether marginal or not, ahead is ahead) thats 1-1 where we are stuck is the National team stats, and here is where we will also agree to dis agree. Cause you all convienently put up the ratio issue, since that is the only way you can state that he is better than Henry 9and that is a legitemate analogy don't get me wrong) Even jackal took time to tell us the story why he doesn't play that often for Holland!? While i use goals scored (is it Henry's fault that he has featured more for France than ruud has feature for holland ) and productivity or end product of the goals. But like i said we are both right in our points, so dependimng on how you look at it, i honestly feel it could be given to either player. But you are very much entitled to hold on to your views Cheers mate.Oga Seun Oh well, despite everything this was an enlightening discussion, where i must say i learnt a lot, apart from the slight misunderstanding, it wasn't that bad, and arguements were made in a matured manner. We will also agree to dis agree on the final result Cheers mate. Finally i will say Ruud is a damn good player, so is King sheva and the Ultimate Ronaldo, but i still hold on to my views on T Henry (and its not because he is a Gooner 0 GOONER 89 |

Chelski vs Barca Battle of Armeggadon vol 3 part 1 and 2ok here goes First let me deal with Oga kola's initial thread Every team does things that are within the law in trying to get an advantage over another team. so the stadium stuff is not new. Even Arsene tries to make sure the pitches both at highbury and the Grove suit Arsenal's way of playing, thats why the pitch is generally watered to make it slick for easy quick pass move, and the grass is cut so low so that the balls are not slowed down (thats why he always makes excuses when Arsenal lose by blaming the pitch of other clubs) A clear example of this was when Pompey were angry that their game against Arsenal last season was prosphoned when Arsenal complained about the water logged pitch, whereas Harry R felt the pitch was playable (because he knew his team were used to playing under those conditions and would have a legitimate advantage over the visitors) This is a legitimate strategy, the problem with Chelski is that the whole thing sounds cynical . WHY ONLY BARCA last year as well, Must you always do work on your pitch when ever barca comes calling . why must the tie always be shrouded in one mystery or the other. just play the damn game over any pitch and beat them .Anyway on the other hand, Barca have a ready made excuse if they lose, what next!? chelsea put itching powder on the seats of the opposing teams dressing rooms!? ![]() Typical spanish tross , even if a truck load of sand is poured on the pitch, if you are the best team in the world, as we all keep hearing, you should win anywhere. Pray tell what did W Bremen do to almost give you a bloody nose (thank God for Messi)Some how i feel we might not hear the end of this issue come tuesday!! Now to the match analysis ![]() GOONER 89 |
People this article is so funny i am still in stiches, made my whole friday, this didWhere have all the great footballers gone? Most of the names on Fifa's 30-man world player of the year shortlist aren't actually that good. Scott MurrayOctober 13, 2006 11:35 AM World-class players aren't really that world-class any more, are they? Actually, that's unfair: today's top stars have no peers when it comes to promoting Pringles, themselves, Adidas, themselves, themselves, EA Sports and themselves. But when they finally get round to pulling on their sponsored boots, there aren't too many of them who consistently deliver when it really matters. Here's that Fifa 2006 world player of the year shortlist in full: Adriano (Internazionale, Brazil): This club-footed oaf spent the summer single-handedly dismantling the last vestiges of Brazil's tedious Mexico-70 samba-dancing joga-bonito Nike-advertising-agency nonsense once and for all. For that at least, the poor man's Emile Heskey has our thanks. Michael Ballack (Chelsea, Germany): His only meaningful action in the World Cup saw him hoofing a free-kick three miles over the bar at the business end of Germany's semi-final against Italy. By the end of his Lampardesque year, the "best" all-action midfielder in the world was reduced to panicked two-footed lunges on the best all-action midfielder in the world, Momo Sissoko. Shame shame shame. Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus, Italy): Has spent an entire career behind defences which leave him with precious few crucial saves to make, so who really knows what he's capable of? Apart from Luis García? And Cesc Fábregas? Anyway, seeing that he makes Borat Sagdiyev look more hand-wringingly liberal than George Monbiot, even if he had six eight-fingered hands on extended springs he could eff off. Fabio Cannavaro (Real Madrid, Italy): Wildly over-rated in the World Cup on account of having a) nothing really to do in any of the matches he was involved in other than saunter about, and b) nice hair. Currently in La Liga doing a passable impression of a slightly more confused Rio Ferdinand. Petr Cech (Chelsea, Czech Republic): Dodgy on crosses, as the Greeks revealed in Euro 2004. Also, he's just let in a goal by Kevin Kilbane. Next! Deco (Barcelona, Portugal): Sent off against Holland for the most idiotic ball-handling offence since the days of Claudio Caniggia. And that's about it. Didier Drogba (Chelsea, Ivory Coast): Finally he pays back a whack of that £24m fee with 16 goals in the calendar year to date. Not bad, but for the record, that's five less than Peter Crouch has managed in the same period. Michael Essien (Chelsea, Ghana): Currently having the rumbustiousness sucked out of him by Jose Mourinho's careful-careful coaching plan. Makes list ahead of Arjen Robben and Damien Duff, you'll note. Luis Figo (Internazionale, Portugal): The holder of the world's most over-rated player trophy for five consecutive years from 1999, Figo finally got a chance to make a bid for immortality in this year's World Cup semi-final. And was marginally less successful than he was with his "performance" in the Euro 2004 final. Gennaro Gattuso (AC Milan, Italy): Robbie Savage with a beard. Steven Gerrard (Liverpool, England): A couple of timely goals in Cardiff, there, Stevie. Though seeing you're always banging on about how your best position is in centre midfield, aren't you slightly embarrassed that every single time your club manager relents and lets you play there, there's enough room down the middle to spin a few doughnuts into an articulated lorry? Thierry Henry (Arsenal, France): Didn't show in World Cup 98. Outshone by Wiltord (!) and Trezeguet (!!!) in Euro 2000. Failed to step up to the plate in Korea/Japan or Euro 2004. Sulked like a baby after going missing in this year's Champions League final. Took a dive, though he is not a woman, against both Spain and Portugal in Germany. And in the final he went miss , ah what the hell. One of the favourites, it says here! Kaka (AC Milan, Brazil): Totally off form for the entire year. Philippe Lahm (Bayern Munich, Germany): A purler to open the World Cup for the Germans; nowhere to be seen when Fabio Grosso closed it for them. Frank Lampard (Chelsea, England): Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Jens Lehmann (Arsenal, Germany): Outstanding penalty save to help Arsenal reach the Champions League final; outstandingly poor decision-making in Paris to make them wish they hadn't bothered. Juan Román Riquelme (Villarreal, Argentina): Have you ever seen anyone more nailed-on to miss a penalty than Riquelme in the last minute of that Champions League semi-final? Just look at those flickering eyes. If you're not blinded by the glistening beads of sweat forming on his forehead, that is. Nearly redeemed himself in the summer with a couple of fantastic displays for his country, but again went missing when it came to the crunch. José Pekerman wasn't the only Argentinian whose brain went into meltdown during the quarter-finals. Ronaldinho (Barcelona, Brazil): Those showreel flicks look real nice on Soccer AM's Skills Pedalo. But they don't seem to do the business very often in Champions League semi-finals, finals or crucial World Cup matches, do they? Wayne Rooney (Manchester United, England): Has failed to score a goal in the Champions League or in international football for two years. For the record, that's 13 fewer than Peter Crouch has managed in the same period. Tomas Rosicky (Arsenal, Czech Republic): Currently engaged in a heavyweight tussle with Dimitar Berbatov to be crowned the most lightweight player plying his trade in north London. This nomination also suggests he's had a better 12 months than Fábregas, doesn't it? Andriy Shevchenko (Chelsea, Ukraine): Currently having the rumbustiousness sucked out of him by Jose Mourinho's careful-careful coaching plan to such an extent that he's been reduced to diving against Scotland! Oh dear. How the mighty have fallen (with triple salchow and pike). Lilian Thuram (Barcelona, France): Fantastic six years ago. Can we vote for Ronaldo, Laurent Blanc and Fernando Redondo as well? Patrick Vieira (Internazionale, France): Arsène knows. Zinédine Zidane (retired, France): For all his many faults, most of which were blatantly apparent before the World Cup final, Zizou has been the one "world-class" player in the last decade who's ever bothered himself enough to step it up a gear at the business end of tournaments. And now he's gone. Help! Someone's broken football! You'll note I left out from Fifa's list Samuel Eto'o, Franck Ribéry, Miroslav Klose, Andrea Pirlo, Alessandro Nesta and the fantastic, adversity-shunning twinkletoes of Cristiano Ronaldo. All of whom were, well, not bad. And in any case, you can't be finding fault in everyone just to make a facile point, can you? From http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/2006/10/13/where_have_all_the_great_footb.html But seriously Zidane should win it, but i think either Henry (compensation) or an italian (compensation 2) will win it. Dinho does not deserve it, and i will be disgusted if they give it to any brazilian or argie for that matter (Could our african son ETO come through at the last minute and do us proud, fingers crossed everyone ) GOONER 89 |
Things are just piling up for this lad, and i am really sorry to say, he might not be able to handle the presure, i mean how could he go from being seen as a hero and victim from C Ronaldo's antics at the World Cup to now being the one likely to be boooed by English fans during games, while C Ronaldo is heading towards nomination for PFA player of the year ![]() http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,1921159,00.html Another version, but less informative http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/internationals/6046144.stm Even Cantona at his worst almost cracked during the bad publicity period (but he is french, and knowing the french, they really don't give a toss about the English or Great Britain for that matter a la Cantona's infamous "seagulls" statement and Henry's statement to the Scottish supporters)Maybe he will adopt the Keano attitude or bad boy behaviour of Bellamy or Joey "moonshine" Barton ![]() Rooney is at a crossroads in his career and however things palm out will determine whether he lives up to extreme potential he has or goes the way of Gazza, a living memory GOONER 89 |
Jackal ![]() Did FIFA forget to add Ruud's name on this list (Even Sheva and Rooney are there!!) Hurry up and write tham to correct this blunder and insult, i mean a whole Ruud ![]() Fifa world player of the year shortlist: Adriano (Internazionale, Brazil), Michael Ballack (Chelsea, Germany), Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus, Italy), Fabio Cannavaro (Real Madrid, Italy), Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United, Portugal), Petr Cech (Chelsea, Czech Republic), Deco (Barcelona, Portugal), Didier Drogba (Chelsea, Ivory Coast), Michael Essien (Chelsea, Ghana), Samuel Eto'o (Barcelona, Cameroon), Luis Figo (Internazionale, Portugal), Gennaro Gattuso (AC Milan, Italy), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool, England), Thierry Henry (Arsenal, France), Kaka (AC Milan, Brazil), Miroslav Klose (Werder Bremen, Germany), Philippe Lahm (Bayern Munich, Germany), Frank Lampard (Chelsea, England), Jens Lehmann (Arsenal, Germany), Alessandro Nesta (AC Milan, Italy), Andrea Pirlo (AC Milan, Italy), Franck Ribéry (Marseille, France), Juan Román Riquelme (Villarreal, Argentina), Ronaldinho (Barcelona, Brazil), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United, England), Tomas Rosicky (Arsenal, Czech Republic), Andriy Shevchenko (Chelsea, Ukraine), Lilian Thuram (Barcelona, France), Patrick Vieira (Internazionale, France), Zinedine Zidane (retired, France). http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,1920879,00.html Don't worry i am only playing with you cause i know you will say Shrek is there and Cesc isn't ![]() GOONER 89 |
Jackal ![]() Henry's Personal Honours: European Golden Boot: 2004, 2005 FA Premier League Top Scorer: 2001-2002, 2003-2004, 2004-2005, 2005-2006 Onze d´Or: 2003 PFA Players' Player Of The Year: 2002-03, 2003-04 FWA Footballer Of The Year: 2002-03, 2003-04, 2005-06 Since you give Ruud's Awards, (lets not go there cause you know you cannot even compare the two based on Awards and honours, but i will follow Oga Mocha's thoughts that Awards and Honours are subjective in nature, so can't really be seen as scientifical) How many players have won FWA Awards three years how many years has Ruud been top scorer in Prem league. Jackal ok do you feel the Dutch league is better than the Ligue 1. How many years did Henry spend in Italy, if you feel he is a failure. Do not put the Spainish league cause he has just started, will he end up as Top scorer lets wait and see. jackal you and i know that ruud felt he was forced out of Old trafford, so he never really wanted to go to Real, but he is there. Henry had a choice to go to Barca, but chose otherwise, doesn't sum up that he can't make it there. The spainish league is not as rough as the italian and Prem. Jackal you know this. Sheva has not clicked yet for Chelsea, does that mean he won't prove himself in the Prem, and even if he doesn't, then will we say he is not a good striker ![]() Jackal that Martin Tyler analysis is october/november 2005 is that too far for you here is the link please go through yourself http://home.skysports.com/column.aspx?hlid=344520&lid=Sky_Sports_Columnist_Martin_Tyler&title=It's+Henry+by+a+head+-+Tyler&channel=football_home Jackal ok then take away 3 years from Henry's goal exploits in the Prem 99, 00 and 06 and add both their goal tallies. who has scored more goals Now if your answer is Henry, I beg to ask, " what exactly are you all saying. You mentioned goals ratio, i quote someone that knows a whole bloody lot about football (esp the prem) i repeat Jackal give me evidence to back your claims. If Henry has scored more goals than Ruud, even taking away 2 full seasons and this season as Ruud is no longer in the Prem, how can you say Ruud's ratio is higher. Even tlyer states that it is very close, but that T Henry is just slightly better.ok jackal, if henry is a local champion as you claim, Please list the Big teams ruud has scored his goals against and compare them with Thierry, also how can you call someone that has won the World cup, Confed Cup and Euro Cup a local champ, you see what i mean you keep going back to the Arsenal thing, cause you keep looking at Henry with Arsenal thats why you keep refering to Uefa and the CL. But jackal i ask, what was the best that Ruud's goals have taken Man U to in the CL and compare it with Henry (do not talk about Arsenal not winning, i only asked for Productivity). You must admit that for even this Sheva stands head and shoulders above them both cause his Uefa goals have helped Milan win the CL and get to the Final against the POOL. Same can be said in the Prem (for the period ruud was at Man United) how many titles have his goals won for Man United in all competitions compared to Henry during the period ruud was at Man Uas well 2001-2005/6, please check and respond as well. secondly if ruud scores a hat trick against a team like D kiev, you scream and shout, biut if t Henry does it, you will say D Kiev are not a good team. Henry scored against Brazil and some folks even were not satisfied. As Wenger stated once in 2004 (and don't pick on the fact that i quoted wenger, i can not put up those stats and claim they are mine, focus on the stats and dispel them) but since its from his manager, we should only look at the relevant info, the link is even from your beloved soccernet. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=315479&cc=5739 'But Thierry has still done it it in big games. He's scored eight goals against Manchester United, a hat-trick away to Roma and two against Inter last season.' Van Nistelrooy, meanwhile, may have hit four goals against Sparta Prague in midweek, but has only scored twice against Arsenal in eight games and twice against Chelsea in six matches." Jackal we will just agree to disagree, like this other forum proves, Opinions are subjective in nature, even in the face of evidence. http://www.soccerpulse.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=20614 which was in 2004, so you see Jackal arguements can be subjective, thats why i rely more on Journalists cause they take time to look at all the stats and follow the game better then we do (are they all knowing: NO!! But you must admit they are better placed than you and i) and besides i don't think Tyler will look at this as a Man U vs Arsenal stuff which it seems we are doing, as he really isn't a true Man United or arsenal support a fan of both clubs yes, but not a supporter of either. In conclusion Jackal if Henry has scored more career goals (exclude all the stories about ruud, every footballer has a story, i can give you one on why T Henry doesn't perform as well for France as he does for Arsenal ) Then i guess he is a better goal scorer period!!, if you want to now categorise goal scorers be free to call him a poacher or a forward, thats your choice. if Lampard sores more (deflected) goals than Henry this season, will i now say because Lamps is a midfielder, that they don't count . Jackal you look at it Poacher or otherwise (long stories besides as well) T Henry has scored more goals, won more accolades and titles than Ruud. And i repeat the only person in Oga Seun's list that is better than Henry is RONALDOyou don't have to agree with me, thats your perogative GOONER 89 |
Jackal let me make one final point to you as we always get into this stuff Now it seems you always think we are on some Arsenal/Man u War stuff, But i really do not know why, i really try to be nuetral as humanly possiible as can be, but i am still biased for Arsenal as you are for Man United, so don't accuse me of being biased when you are also biased for Manchester. Stop giving the impressions that you far more objective than i am (look at the stupid Drogs vs adebayor posts) I put up links, you accuse me of being biased, explain to me, how Guardian, Observer and sky sports and all are biased, even BBC, If i put up the Sun or Daily Express you would accuse me of something else. i put up Myles Palmer you say the same thing, where as Mr palmer is a well known journalist in england, who happens to support Arsenal, Jackal everyone has a teamthey support even the F@#king Prime minister of Great Britain. Do you not quote from Soccer net so your own links are the best and evryone's else is stupid. We live in an age where information is free and available to all. so please other forum member might decide to just take your word as law, but if you don't give me prove, its just ramblings to me. I am on the net 12 -13 hrs at work, please do give me links and evidence, i have will make time to check them out. Do not hold back, (since you accuse me of heresy)stop accusing people of things which you do yourself, its childish!? Did i or did i not give links to stats for ruud , did i or did i not Paste Ruud's awards and honours ![]() I put up as many links for ruud as i did for thieery, please check it yourself, You make statements to counter argue and thats where it should stop, there is really no need to add insults, did i insult Mocha or Seun No? Did i say they were speaking rucbbish No!? i just tried to address their points and put up evidence backing my claims so they could check and respond. you made some statements, once again Jackal, please put up links where i can check out your claims and stats. Or even any blog, Man united or other wise, where it is discussed that Ruud is better than Henry in terms of goal scoring. i really would love to read it, seriously i would. (i told seun that he quote derek or is it Dennis rae of Espn and didn't give evidence of it, i quoted Martin tyler and gave a link to show evidence, please how then am i quoting heresy, am i martin tyler , if i quoted espn you would stiil accuse me of quoting heresy). Jackal please be reasonable for once and address me with some respect and not turn everything into a childish arguement ![]() GOONER 89 |
Jackal that is my problem with you, you just put down stats. SHOW ME THE PROOF OR LINKS SO I CAN SEE ALL THESE STATS AND STATEMENTS YOU PUT UP. are you saying you now know more than Martin tyler, or are the links i put up wrong. You all select whatever stats you want to support your arguements but everyone esle's is heresy what an irony. Jackal please we cannot take only your word for it. show us where you get all these stuff cause the last time i checked you are still young and can not claim to know all. stop these attacks, just make your point, we are not fighting just having a matured arguement. You mention all Ruud's honours, then have the nerve to insult me for listing Henry's own ![]() I really try hard to understand you. Has Ruud scored more goals career wise than Henry, YES OR NO, leave all the 44 goals and stuff, even leave all henry's stuff. Has ruud the King Goal scorer scored more career goals that Henry till date in all competitions. Jackal JUST A SIMPLE YES OR NO (forget this Arsenal/Man U stuff you always make it look like we are arguing based on team loyalties). Please respond now and jackal please give us all evidence not just your word ![]() GOOONER 89 |
Now guys please do not think that i am trying to show off or act funny, we are only having a matured conversation on this, i put up these stats and quotes, so that you guys can check it out yourselves, thats why i take the time to paste the links. So you just don't take my word for it. It would help if everyone gave evidence of their own claims, not just say it, cause as you know guys "talk is cheap" ![]() I am not looking to convince you guys as every man will believe what he wants, i am only trying to lay the facts bear for every nuetral member to make his or her conclusions, as stats and stuff can be twisted any which way to suit an arguement. Lawyers do it all the time So please if you feel i am twisting it, come out with your own statements and stats to dis counter my arguements. Thats why this is a forum, we are all meant to learn from each other and take corrections and dispel myths when necessary, thats the only way we grow as individuals. So please do not take my statements, quotes, stats and all as arrogance, i am only trying to prove my case. lets keep up this matured attitude guys (at least this discussions helped me discover some new stuff on both players )And i still insist T Henry is a better player/ goal scorer that Ruun V N, and the only one better than him in all ramifications is Ronaldo de lima. I haven't changed my stand. waiting for your reply. here another site for stats www.rssf.com GOONER ![]() |
Now Oga Seun ![]() Lets take time and look at your Holland statement, I repeat, T Henry played in the Ligue 1 with monaco, under of all people Arsene Wenger Henry was in Monaco from 1994-1999 and scored 20 league goals and 8 in europe, total of 28 Ruud has been in the Dutch league and started with FC Den Bosch in 1993 to 2001 with PSV and scored 92 goals between 3 clubs and 15 Cl goals in Europe so total of 107. Awesome right. Now even if i add Henry's few months in Italy with Juve where he had only 16 apperances and scored 3 goals, even adding it to his 28 goals will only give him 31. But Seun here's the catch. If you claim that its unfair of me to use the prem since Thierry has been there before Ruud, i guess the fact that Henry only played for one club in France where he also won the Ligue 1 with Monaco and the french Super Cup, while Ruud has played between 3 clubs in Holland landing at PSV. point 1, Seun the french league is stronger than the Dutch league, check any opinoin on this. second point check out, Monaco is better than any team Ruud has played in the Dutch league even PSV, Seun check anywhere how both teams are rated and let me know if i am wrong. The crown and glory of the Dutch league has always been Ajax. But head to head Monaco has achieved even more in Europe than PSV (Monaco got to the final of the CL and lost to a certain Porto team under Jose Maureen) Even if you want to use National team stats Seun has Holland achieved more than France in the Game of Football, even in the golden Era of your Cruyffs and Van Bastens, but seun Henry has achieved more with france in this era than Ruud with the dutch team. Now you say that Henry should score twice against Brazil before you are convinced, so scoring against Brazil is now the meter for greatness as a goal scorer , Has Ruud scored against Brazil once/ever (please check this and let me know if i am wrong). So he isn't great then. International Fixtures are not determined like that seun, Henry can only play against Brazil or what ever team when france play against them. so once again this is a no brainer .Let me list your weak defences for you Italy Brazil Man united Chelsea Real madrid Juventus Inter milan Liverpool Bayern Munich Cameroon Portugal England and the list goes on. SEUN!? Henry is France's second highest goalscorer of all time behind Michel Platini. ![]() Ireally do not know how else to convince you guys, i have put up soi many links for you to check them yourselves and do the calculations, but here once again http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thierry_Henry http://www.rvn10.com/revamp/information_statistics.php and the other Ruud link is below check them all out for your self and decide for yourself please ![]() GOONER 89 |

Oga Seun ![]() No it is criminal of you to quote Derek Rae (with no evidence put to back up your quote), an arguement has two views, whether in a debate or in a court of law thats why you have a Persucutor and a Defense lawyer. Ok since you quoted Derek Rae of the almighty Espn we are all meant to believe you and take your word for it. A, Seun sorry but check out your statements on Productivity, for club sides, i really do not need to answer that cause if you believe Ruud has achieved more for Man United than Henry has for Arsenal, i really cannot change your mind (just do me a favour, do not repeat this at another footie forum or any other setting) Please Seun honestly since Ruud joined Man United in 2001 how many how many titles have Man United won (i pasted his Honours and awards below for you to check out your self). Ruud has scored more Euro goals than Henry, Ok you talked of productivity, how far seun have ruud's goals gotten Man United in the CL, (Man U won the CL before ruud was signed hope you know that, and they haven't won it ever since, when last did they even reach a significant stage of the CL with ruud being their arrow head) But T Henry's goals have led Arsenal to a final which they lost to a better team in Barca. Please seun you are on the net, check out for yourself any thing and put up. You also claimed that Henry has been in the prem far longer than Ruud, Henry came in 1999 and is still there, Ruud came in 2001 and in that time he scored 98 league goals,ok let me do this let me remove 2 years from henry's goals, as in 1999 and 2000 and i will even do you a favour and remove 2006, Seun T Henry is still left with 130 league goals, A difference of 32 goals. SO OGA SEUN I ASK A QUESTION. WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR POINT HERE ![]() EVIDENCE: please do the calculations your self for henry check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thierry_Henry for ruudy boy here http://www.rvn10.com/revamp/information_statistics.php and i will even give you another for ruud, so that you will see i am nice http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruud_Van_Nistelrooy Ididn't even add the cups (both league and FA) Like i said the only thing Ruud has above Henry is his CL goals (but what have does done for United )Also Seun both players Awards and honours are give below in other posts please do check them out your self. i will address your other issues next post. GOONER 89 |
Ok let me deal with this person by person, cause this is getting tired, but if we must learn, then patience must be a virtue. Oga Mocha lets start with you first.Ruud's national team stats National team** 1998– 2006 Netherlands 54 Caps (28 Goals) Henry's national team stats National team** 1997- France 91 Caps (39 Goals) Now Henry has scored more goals National wise that Ruud, but i guess you will now argue that Ruud's Ratio is more, cause Henry has played more games for France, Ok i will conside that, but you also should look at end productivity. Henry has won like everything there is to win with France and his Goals have helped lead france to the Confederations cup, World Cup winners in 98 and Finalist in 2006, and Euro winners in 2000. (let me not even look at his exploits in the age group nationals competitions). So Mocha, T Henry's goals are more and have contributed to more end product for his national team. link for T henry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thierry_Henry Link for Ruud http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruud_Van_Nistelrooy http://www.rvn10.com/revamp/information_statistics.php Now secondly you mentioned Europe. Mocha please take time and go over my posts again, you will see where i said Ruud has more goals in Europe than Henry, which means CL goals (cause thats all there is for Europe) This is exactly what i said "Oga Seun Haba how you go compare TiTi with Ruud, Na tropies or awards you want use compare them. Because if na goals well so be it, But realise that Its only in Euro CL goals that Ruud is higher than TiTi" You can look back and confirm now i think you also accused me of not putting Ruud's honour's, ok here Awards and honours Dutch Eredivisie: 1999-2000, 2000-2001 Dutch Super Cup: 1999, 2000 English Premiership: 2002-03 FA Cup: 2004 English League Cup: 2005-2006 Community Shield: 2003 Dutch League Top Scorer: 1998-1999, 1999-2000 English Premiership Top Scorer: 2002-2003 Champions League Top Scorer: 2001-2002, 2002-2003 Dutch Player of the Year: 1999, 2000 PFA Player of the Year: 2002 Champions League Most Valuable Striker: 2001-2002 Henry's record are here so no need to bore anyone with repeats please compare and contrast and come to your own conclusions For Martin Tyler, Well Oga Mocha if you care to look you would see that he answers questions sent to him on the Sky sports website. Oga Seun quoted Derek Rae of Espn, but he didn't give any proof or link supporting his claim, i quoted M Tyler of Sky Sports and gave a link so you all could confirm for yourself. (besides tyler's e-mail addy is there, if you want to send a mail to confirm, he will kindly answer your enquires, if you don't take my word for it, try it and see for your self.) Like i said one mans meat is another mans poision, but i do believe that even Ruud knows that T Henry is considered a better player (and as far as i am concerned goal scorer than him) Once again i repeat that in Oga Seun's list only Ronaldo de Lima is Head and shoulders above T Henry in even sphere of this Game called football, and of that there is no arguement. How can anyone ever think of sacking "Le Professor" Wenger outlines football's role By Laurent Picard - Created on 9 Oct 2006 Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has underlined the importance of football in breaking down barriers. Wenger believes football, along with other sports, has a key role to play in bringing together people from other countries and cultures. Citing his own Gunners squad, which boasts players of various nationalities, the French coach outlined his view on the role football can play in the wider world. "Football can bring fraternity and tolerance," Wenger told But! "That is the advantage of sports. They can show the bad side of society, but they are also able to break down barriers and to open mentalities. "My club counts on 14 different nationalities, but that is not a problem for them to know how to live together. "I have the chance to experience it every Saturday on the pitch. Sport allows you to share values. "Thanks to this job, I have discovered we could create a common culture within a club that every player could share. "There is no need to speak the same language to express yourself together. "To my mind, sports have an enormous responsibility in society. They propose values and aims to youngsters." Also the fact that Double D (David Dein) has just be voted President of the G14 clubs, means that the big clubs recognise what is happening at Arsenal as Phenominal and we have to thank Wenger for this. So anyone waiting for him to be sacked, keep waiting. GOONER 89 |
