According to reports by Notebook check the AMD Radeon VII coming out February 7th was tested to be faster than the Nvidia RTX 2080. They were tested using: Extreme: 12,224 with Intel Core i9-9900K and 12,141 with AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Ultra: 6,688 with Intel Core i9-9900K and 6,707 with AMD Ryzen 7 2700X In the Performance preset, the Graphics Score achieved by the Radeon VII is 27,587, while custom factory-overclocked GeForce RTX 2080 cards can score 26,800. The NVIDIA card gets a beating when using the Ultra preset as well: 6,782 and 6,871 points (Graphics Score with the aforementioned Intel and AMD processors) for the Radeon VII versus 6,430 for the GeForce RTX 2080. Psychodavidovic:Recent Triple A games... you shouldn't go less than a CPU with 4 cores especially when you're using mid-highend GPUs else you'd bottleneck your gpu However if one is getting a budget gpu then 2 cores would suffice. But, I presume you're talking about AAA games of last, say 5 years or so. In that case, a CPU with 4 cores and >= 3.0 ghz would get you through any recent game. CPUs are hyperthreaded these days so, you won't need more, at least for now. But, if one has the money to throw around, there's nothing wrong with going higher to 6 cores... For future proof 1 Like |

Whizzahd:Do you even read what you write? You said buying a gaming PC is a dumb idea and you said the person should get a console plus a low budget gaming PC... You high or some sh!t? Adding that money alone would get you a very good rig. Buying a PC for the fps is soooo yesterday, people are more educated now. One doesn't need to get a "gaming PC" a usual core i5 4th or 5th gen with a decent gpu say, gtx 750/ti will do to play new games in low-medium settings, even on high for few games. That's gonna take 150k more or less. Console is about that prize with the crazy expensive discs. I'm not encouraging piracy but, with PC's you can buy a legit copy of the game you'd Play for the entire year and play cracked copy of the rest. When noobs hear "gaming PC's" what comes to their minds is a core i7 8k and gtx 1080ti rig... Nahhh that's just an overkill. You don't need that 2 Likes |
