Ajayi4:
Hello my people, I want to ask if children are doing biometrics now. I learnt that before passport can be submitted for children, they will ask them to undergo biometrics or pay the money. My wife is going to submit passports on Wednesday and I don't know if she will have to go with the children. Somebody pls help.

She doesn't heed to whatever i say except it comes from her heart and she always find it hard to say sorry.

The famous calgary playground zone signboard.
Often times...you would find a ghost police vehicle parked somewhere along the a road where the sign begins and end. His traffic radar and camera busy taking pictures of vehicles going over 30km while he reads the newspaper or busy drinking a coffee..

The pics below would give you an idea why people fail. Its more difficult if you drive in a country were road rules are hardly obeyed, since bad driving quickly becomes an habit. Brush up lessons are very helpful.

I would have posted a link to the forum i got that from but i spambot might ban me.

jnyuwa02:

Wrong info that even if the children apply for visa now, a visa is not going to be stamped into their passports because they are Americans. Americans apply for a Canadian visa and have it stamped all the time and have to meet the regular requirements like everyone else. That said, I agree Americans going to Canada can also apply for a TRV at the point of entry. I would advice this woman to make her children's application for visa as dependents in Nigeria. Her children's application and status as Americans would greatly bolster her chances for been approved for a visa. This is better for her application in general, than one solitary Nigerian passport applying for Canadian visa. Not to talk of the unnecessary complications she might be faced with doing her children's paperwork were she to defer to doing it inside Canada after she arrives with her children.

I visited Calgary with my wife and son who happened to be an American citizen, my wife and I got our visas here in Nigeria but we didn't apply for visa for my son because he is an American citizen, our passports were stamped just like his at the port of entry. I believe she might apply at the POE but if she is going for PR, she must start from the beginning no surprises.

Earlier this month, singer Dede Mabiaku, in an interview with Sahara Reporters, came hard on the President Buhari led government, saying that the change they promised has not been felt by Nigerians.

Yesterday, Dede and Senior Special Assistant to the President Buhari on Media and Personality were guests on Lagos Talk 91.3 FM where they had a heated discussion. Dede stormed out of the radio studio after Femi told him to shut up during the programme. Watch the video after the cut...

Thanks Ray12345.
My advice to everyone waiting for a response from IRCC. Just keep believing in God, trust me he can turn the impossible to the possible. Despite submitting my application late I was able to get TRV in just 18 working days. You all should keep believing and keep praying hard and it would come trust me. I wish you all success and hopefully y'all would share your testimonies soon.

hoha!!!! Gbamest! Straight from the heart talk....

bayocanny:

Bro, forget about languge barrier you should be fine, English is the language of instruction in South Korean universities..once u enter you will have to learn their language for 3months and it doesn't stop you from hustling or schooling most south koreans also speak English as well. Boss, this is a matter of hustling not that you want to reside in SK, just be in status for atleast a year or six months then u can vamoose go canada. Germany sef no bad na better country but I doubt if you will be able to see naija agent wey sabi gather their application, you can do it yourself I believe the process is not rigorous at all..meanwhile, I have a babe for SA she dey work for ministry of Eduction bro con see as she dey always tell me how dem dey dash people scholarship( fully funded) south Africa sef make sense most of their programs come with scholarship. I'm thinking of applying there as well. Truth be told, CIC mofos are judging our applications because of our ecnomic and social background, they knew that our economy is in doldrum with a double-digits inflation lol, so every applicants are intended immigrants for their eye. Only Masters and Undegraduates seems credible to them others(PGD/PGC/Diploma) just want to elope for buhari sake. Boss, this is common sense, come to think of it our passport will be hold for at least 10weeks yet they still will deny us TRV, that's nonsense
Bro, forget oo na street information dey, align yourself with correct people and see your dreams come to reality am not saying you shouldn't pursue your canadian dream but you can cross-carpet from naija to other country and hold ground for sometimes there then u port to canada, it is easier like that.

thanx for the info

SegunWamiri:
As an international student here in Canada, [b]one is not eligible to work outside campus for the first six months. To gain eligibility, you must spend a minimum of 6 months as a FULL-TIME student and with a minimum GPA of 2.0 (during those six months) then you can apply for your OCWP (Off campus work permit). This takes about a month to process and processing time for online applications are always faster. Upon procurement of your OCWP, you can then apply for a social insurance number (takes only about 5 minutes). This number ensures that taxes are duly deducted. With this, you can find employment off campus.

Note that if for any reason your GPA drops below 2.0 after procurement of your OCWP, your working privileges would be withdrawn by the Canadian government and they might even ask you to mail your OCWP back to them until you are able to raise your GPA.

If however, you come as a landed immigrant, you dont need to wait six months. just get your SIN and find employment.
As for getting jobs, McDonalds is literally always hiring. So is Tim Hortons. Whatever job you get be it serving coffee or flipping burgers, be sure to accept if you must survive as living cost is relatively high.
If you dont get a job off campus, there are numerous job opportunities on campus. You could work in your school cafeteria, at the library. All you need do is ask questions and look out for fliers. You should be fine.

Accommodation: I would suggest that in your first year, you live in residence (on campus). Living off-campus right from the first year is not advisable because you have to give yourself time to acclimatize to the new environment of your school. Typically, general information gets to those who live on campus first before those who dont and one thing you always wanna ensure is that you are in the know all the time. It is only after first year you can confidently move out of residence if you want to and get cheap accommodation outside.
Try to make friends with people (Nigerians and other nationalities) during your first year so that you can at least find someone to co-rent an apartment then you can split your bills equally and save some money. The average cost of a 2 bedroom apartment is $700. You pay half of that if you split.

That said, try to find an apartment where all the utilities (light, electricity and internet) come in the bill. You dont wanna be paying $350 for rent and pay an extra $60 for utilities.

To call home at cheap rates, always use a calling card. NEVER try dialing an international number directly on your mobile. That is so expensive.

That information became obsolete in June 2014. You can start work either on or off campus as soon as you find a job in Canada as a student NOW
