Politics / Who Will Win Nigeria Presidential Election According To Google Search Data by ludot(m): 10:55am On Jun 16, 2022
I looked at search interest data from Google Trends for Nigeria Presidential candidates from 2011 to 2019 and found out that whoever had the highest average search interest in the 12 months preceding an election went on to win the election.

Below are charts from Google Trends showing search interest trend for past candidates over 12 months up to election date – and also the average for each candidate in that period.

Who will win 2023 Presidential Election?

If the election had been held on June 11, 2022, I would have given the victory to Bola Tinubu and that is due to the correlation I noticed between the candidate that had the highest average interest in the 12 months up to election date and the eventual winner of the election.

As they say one week is a long time in politics – not to mention months. If come election day, February 25, 2023 and he is still in the lead as per average search interest – it will be interesting to see who the eventual winner is. I created https://nigeriapresidentialcandidates.com/nigeria-presidential-candidates-2023-popularity/ page where I can track the candidates Google search interest leading up to election to see if ‘historical data’ would repeat itself.

Come 2023, it will be interesting to see if Google Search Interest will translate to vote intents and determine the eventual winner. See the analysis in full here https://nigeriapresidentialcandidates.com/whoever-wins-google-search-interest-wins-nigeria-presidential-elections-2023/

This should not continue with our generation.

Religion / Did Jesus Tithe In The Bible? by ludot(m): 3:21pm On Nov 23, 2017
Leviticus 27:30, "And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’S: it is holy unto the LORD."

Deuteronomy 14:22, "Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year."

Leviticus 27:32, "And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD."

Deuteronomy 14:23, "And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always."

If tithes in the bible meant the produce of the land, flocks and fruits of the tree - what did those that worked as carpenters tithed in the bible? And you know the most famous carpenter in bible, Jesus. Did he pay tithe?

That's an exceptional incident . Besides he didn't give him wine because of tithes. Tithes only came later

The same way Abraham's tithe was an exceptional incident, wasn't it?

Following your logic of tithe was after wine - that means pastors that don't bring wine first deserve no tithe.

But... Bro, that bread and wine is symbolic na. Remember what the Bible said about the man in the book of Hebrews? Study your Bible

Lol...bread and wine is symbolic but tithe is not?

Jesus didn't officiate at the wedding. He attended a wedding reception just as pastors attend wedding receptions today. And there is nothing wrong with pastors taking alcohol to wedding receptions.

It's laughable when some who don't study their bibles feel there is a hidden conspiracy about tithing in the church which pastors have been covering up. Daddy freeze claims that the Bible. Command tithes to be uses to drink beer. Firstly that's is insult to God and stupid . But in truth there is a provision under the law to use a tithe for feast and eating .

As much as we are not tithing based on the law. We tithe based on Abrahamic revelation . However the explanation here is to throw light on the misrepresentation by daddy freeze .

THERE WERE THREE DIFFERENT KINDS OF TITHES

There were three different kinds of tithes in the Bible . Daddy freeze dwell on a minor one to rubbish the major one .

The three different types are as follows:

1. THE LEVITICAL TITHE (sacred to God).

Leviticus 27:30
And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord's: it is holy unto the Lord

This tithe is used for the work of service in the place of worship and also for the welfare of the workers there.

Numbers 18:21-25
21 And, behold, I have given the Levites all the tithes in Israel for an inheritance in return for their service which they serve, the [menial] service of the Tent of Meeting.

2. THE TITHE OF THE FEAST (Deut. 14:22-27).(daddy freeze beer boozing tithe )
Deuteronomy 14:22-23
Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year. And thou shalt eat before the Lord thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the Lord thy God always.

3. THE TITHE FOR THE POOR (Deut. 14:28, 29). (Every 3 years)
This is done once in very 3 years . It is shared among the poor . While the main annual tithe still runs .

Deuteronomy 14:28-29
At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates: And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest

The first tithe, the one we trace back to Abraham (Gen. 14:18-20), is the sacred tithe, given to the Levites and priests for their service to the temple and the congregation in the Old Testament. This is the tithe we continue to give under the priesthood of Melchizedek in the New Testament. It is the tithe consecrated to God and the furtherance of the gospel and has, therefore, validity for all believers in Christ.

Paul was clear enough .

1 Corinthians 9:13-14
Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel

Now some may say Paul didn't accept support . That's no big deal . He didn't accept support in Corinth because of their carnality . But he accepted support from some other churches . Same goes for pastors today . Most pastors serve voluntarily. They don't receive support . Over 9% of pastors in Deeper life ,Redeem ,CEC, winners are serving voluntarily. They have their own jobs . In fact one of the criterial by which you are sent out is to first have a good job . Except only few who may be required to serve full time and they may have to resign from their job. To get support from church . Church tithe is used to pay workers , church rent , maintainance , equipment ,projects , generator fuel. Chair hire etc and other expenditures. The pastor is not the owner of church money . Every ministry has structure by which money is handled . A pastor in redeem cannot dip his hand into church account . There are approvals from head quarters for expenditure. Not what bloggers online post who don't even go to church

We are not giving tithes as commanded under the law . Our tithing dates to Abraham before the law came . And that it why the other kinds of tithes were not emphasized . So daddy freeze only dwell on the feast party which is not abrahamic . And antitithers are jumping up that they have a hero (who is not even a Christian )

Lol ... the tithe Christians pay dates back to Abraham.

Genesis 14:

18. Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. (Now he was the priest of the Most High God.) 19 He blessed Abram, saying, “Blessed be Abram by the Most High God, Creator of heaven and earth. 20 Worthy of praise is the Most High God, who delivered your enemies into your hand.” Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of everything.

How come pastors don't bring wine and bread to church and give to those that tithe?

Sports / “It’s Hard To Stay With One Woman” – Usain Bolt by ludot(m): 10:48pm On Aug 16, 2016
It seems Usain Bolt’s mum, Jennifer Bolt can’t wait to have grandkids. Her wish for her son who just won his third 100-meter Olympics gold medal in Rio is to “get married and start a family”

“I would hope he’ll settle down, get married and start his family,” Jennifer Bolt told CNN’s Don Riddell in a segment that aired Saturday about what she hopes Bolt will do after the Olympics end.

“I know he’ll settle down because he has said it,” she said. “He told me many times that he’s going to start his family.”

It seems mama Bolt will have to wait a long time to come as the world fastest man is not ready to sprint into marriage. They are too many beautiful women out there to be hooked to one yet.

“I’ve thought about it, but I know I’m not going to get married before 35, for sure,” Bolt told the Telegraph last month.

Usain who turns 30 on Aug. 21 has his reasons for not wanting to rush into getting married just yet.

“Like, Rooney got married so young — all the footballers that are English, as soon as they get really famous they have to get married. And I think it’s unfair to them,” he said.

“You get famous, there’s so much pressure of girls wanting you. And for you to get married at 21, you have not lived one bit. It’s hard for you to stay with one woman because girls are literally just throwing themselves at you.”

Fair enough, I guess Usain Bolt is just being true to himself. Do you blame him for wanting to sow his wild and fast oats?

Abeg, mama Bolt should wait joor! Usain carry go..,nothing do you.

Science/Technology / Facebook Is NOT About To Start Selling Your Information. by ludot(m): 4:06pm On Jul 02, 2016
I am about to make some people feel uneasy by dropping a bombshell. So here it goes, Facebook privacy notice is a hoax.

Recently, you may have seen some of your Facebook friends started posting a Facebook “Privacy Notice” clarifying that they no longer give Facebook permission to use their photos, personal information, and so on. You may have probably probably posted that yourself.

It looks like this;

"From Monday, 27th June, 2016, 1528 IST, I don't give Facebook permission to use my pictures, my information or my publications, both of the past and the future, mine or those where I show up. By this statement, I give my notice to Facebook it is strictly forbidden to disclose, copy, distribute, give, sell my information, photos or take any other action against me on the basis of this profile and/or its contents. The content of this profile is private and confidential information. The violation of privacy can be punished by law (UCC 1-308-1 1 308-103 and the Rome statute).

"Note: Facebook is now a public entity. All members must post a note like this. If you prefer, you can copy and paste this version. If you do not publish a statement at least once, you have given the tacit agreement allowing the use of your photos, as well as the information contained in the updates of the state of the profile. Do not share. You have to copy."

Now you know what I am talking about. Similar privacy notice have been circulated on Social Media in the past and will also be circulated in the future.

Just so you know and I repeat, Facebook privacy notice is a hoax.

The most shocking part of the whole thing is that even some of my friends that I thought were clued up about stuffs like this have been posting the message and encouraging others to do same.

I bet some people still don’t believe me

Well, Facebook has also issued the following statement about this post:

“You may have seen a post telling you to copy and paste a notice to retain control over things you share on Facebook. Don’t believe it. Our terms say clearly: You own all of the content and information you post on Facebook, and you can control how it’s shared through your privacy and application settings. That’s how it works, and this hasn’t changed.

“You can visit Privacy Basics to find out more about who sees what you share on Facebookand other topics.

“You can also read the Data Policy to find out what information we collect and how it is used and shared. We want you to be informed and in control of your experience on Facebook.”

If you are really concerned about your privacy on Facebook and you should be. Facebook provides settings that limit strangers, and of course the company itself, from accessing any posts, photos or content that has been shared by you.
Privacy Check is there on Facebook that will allow you to limit the audience for posts and decide what information you want to share on your profile.

Don’t fall for this hoax or any other one that will come in future – Facebook is NOT about to start selling your information.

Religion / Kano Religious Police In Arresting Muslims For Not Fasting by ludot(m): 9:51am On Jun 22, 2016
The religious police in Kano State have been arresting Muslims who fail to fast during the holy month of Ramadan. As DW’s Nasir Zango reports, the suspects could be caned in public if found guilty.

The Kano State Police, also known as Hisbah, have arrested scores of people for failure to fast and ensuring compliance with the rules of Ramadan, the third pillar of Islam.

Ramadan is a special month of the year for the over one billion Muslims throughout the world. It is determined by the lunar cycle and will run until July 5 this year. For Muslims it is a time for inner reflection, devotion to God and self-control. During fasting, strict restrictions are followed. Muslims are not allowed to eat or drink during daylight hours. Smoking and sexual relations are also forbidden. At the end of the day, the fast is broken with prayer and a meal called the “Iftar.”

Since Ramadan began on June 6, Kano police have deployed its men to strategic places in the state to ensure compliance with the rules of Ramadan. Those who are found to be violating the rules have been arrested and held for interrogation.

Deputy Commandant of Kano’s Hisbahm, Nabahani Usman, said that those arrested would be prosecuted and be sentenced according to the law. “We hold them at Hisbah for at least two days to teach them the importance of fasting,” Usman said. He added that every adult Muslim must observe the holy month.

According to Islamic teachings, fasting helps one feel compassion for those who are less fortunate and underprivileged.

“We deem it fit and necessary to ensure that every Muslim in Kano State observe Ramadan. We have a report of people who are not complying with this important pillar of Islam; hence we mobilize our men to arrest them,” Usman emphasized.

The “men” referred to are Muslim scholar operatives whose work is to enhance Islamic teachings based on the Quran. They also have powers to arrest and detain notorious “non-compliant” followers.

Human rights activists have condemned arrrests
Besides the arrests and detentions, the convicts are subject to beatings after they have been handed a sentence by the religious courts. However, punishments given out by the Hisbah police have been strongly criticized by human rights activists. They accuse the police of overstepping mandate.

Activist and law professor at University of Bayero in Kano, Barrister Audu Bulama Bukarti, said the Nigerian constitution does not allow any religion to punish anybody for not fasting.

“Section 36 of the constitution of Nigeria is very clear that nobody should be arrested or punished except for an offence which is defined by a written law of Nigeria,” Bukarti said. “I am not aware of any law that makes fasting compulsory in Nigeria whether on Muslims or on any other person in the country.” However he called on Muslims to abide by Sharia Law unless they have “acceptable excuses.”

DW’s correspondent Nasir Zango in Kano State has seen several people at the headquarters of the Hisbah in the Sharada area who are being held for non-observance of Ramadan. One of them told Zango that he failed to fast due to chronic ulcers.

“I cannot fast while also taking both modern and herbal medicine to cure it,” he said.

It is not the first time the Hisbah religious police have cracked down on people for not observing the rules of Ramadan in the region. In 2012, more than 20 people were arrested by Hisbah for deliberately refusing to fast and they were held in detention for three days.

Phones / How To Free Up Storage Space On Your Iphone Without Needing To Delete Anything by ludot(m): 9:52am On Apr 02, 2016
It drives me nuts when I am trying to download a photo, video or app on my phone and I am hit with the dialogue, “Cannot Download.” I’m guessing a lot of people reading this will agree that it can be nerve wracking when that happens – you have a lot stuffs that you do not want to delete to free up storage space.

A trick to get more storage space on your iPhone has been circulating around the Internet — but you have to have less than a gig of available space left on your phone to make it work

Start by renting a movie from iTunes (don’t worry, it won’t charge you). Pick a long movie like The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, because the trick requires that the movie’s file size exceeds the amount of storage left on your phone.

After you hit the Rent button on a movie, a dialog box will come up, which will prompt you to hit OK or Settings. Hit Settings.

Your phone will take you to the Settings menu. If you take a look at General > Storage & iCloud Usage, you’ll see that your phone’s available storage space has probably gone up.

I tried this and my storage space went from 0mb to 67mb (not a great amount tho).

Try it and let's see if it works for you.

Religion / London Church Fined Thousands Of Pounds For Holding Noisy 3am Services by ludot(m): 9:53am On Mar 19, 2016
A female member of the church told reporters when they visited the church in broken English that 3am is the best time to hold such services because it was the best time to ensure “very strong deliverance” from evil.

Apparently, residents of the street where the church is located are fed up with the level of noise that comes from the church.

“I live directly next to it,” a neighbour said. “The noise is constant.

“I don’t mind being bothered on Sunday mornings, but the late evening and early morning sessions are horrible.

“When there is a pause, the congregation flood out to the street to get food from a small food stand for a recharge, making just as much noise as while inside.”

Camberwell Magistrates Court slapped the Kingdom's Church leaders with a fine of £7,500 on February 22 after being found guilty of two charges under Section 80 of the Environmental Protection Act 1980. This was after Southwark Council was flooded with complaints about “loud preaching” and “amplified music” every Saturday morning.

Southwark council cabinet member for communities and safety Cllr Michael Situ said: “We would have preferred to settle this matter out of court, but unfortunately our attempts to work with the church leaders were ignored.

“We hope the penalty helps to remind both the leaders, and the wider community, anti-social behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated and wrongdoers will be made to pay one way or another.”

In comments quoted by local newspaper the Southwark News, Bishop Climate Wiseman indicated the church would appeal the fine.

He said: “It is a big fine and we will be appealing against it. I do not deny that we made some noise – we did. But we have spent nearly ten thousand pounds reducing the noise.”
