ModestGal: I belong to the minorities in Nigeria who doesn't think the problem we have is caused by the leaders/politicians. But I do believe the problem is caused by NIGERIANS, the people, starting from our fore fathers who have done nothing to make our society grow but to hold on to useless beliefs, traditions, fairies, tales that makes our people backward. The leaders are Nigerians, and no matter how they have looted the country or harmed us, it is a result of a failed society who failed to raise people who care for growth. Have you ever asked yourself why is it that African leaders are thesame? If the incumbent leader should die, or leave office, another thief/looter/inefficient person would be there, this would continue until we as people realise the root of the problem, which is the society that is raising them.
Even if a youth should get to office today, same would be repeated because the problem is deep, it is in the psyche of the black people. Check this thread and you will see how Nigerians are proud to CURSE on Nigeria, or how the majority of Nigerians do not care for it to grow. You should know that whatever bad you experience in Nigeria today is caused by your forefathers that failed to do something about it, that felt unconcerned and just for their selfish growth. Same would happen to your unborn generations and they would curse on you if they meet the country like this.. It is the fault of our fore fathers why Nigeria is this way, it is our fault why it would remain this way for our unborn generation if we fail to act right. ............ Africa culture is beautiful, but the culture of judging others is not Africa culture is beautiful, but the culture of looking down on others who might be lower than us interms of behaviour is not, if you can't help someone who is a PROSTITUTE, don't gossip them and even abuse them they are one because you don't know their story Africa culture is beautiful, but the culture of looking down on other cultures and everyone proofing theirs is best is not African culture is good, but the culture of staying silent during injustice to another person because of loyalty to rich/powerful person is not Africa culture is beautiful, but the culture of I cannot come and die when people are standing out for a a just cause and you chose to remain silent
Making too much sense ....God bless ur wisdom I wish what u wrote can be read as morning devotion to every house hold or taught in schools In Nigeria...
Nigerian youth can no longer stand for a just cause.....too bad |

[quote author=Akiika post=84854041]Because majority of you are greedy, unethical and of low moral compass. Politicians, monarchs, area boys etc will all want a percentage of the contract which will drive down the quality. If it ever gets completed, you guys will start stealing the metals on the tracks, remove the windows etc. The rail workers will hoard the tickets and increase the price to make illegal extra bucks. Some of you will be in the train to snatch bags and rob passengers. You now see that it is a collective problem. You are all culpable in the under-development that will remain in the country for a long time. Those things don't just appear magically, it takes the responsibility of all and sundry.[/quot

AutoJoshNG: In Dubai, one of the most fascinating features in public transportation is the Dubai Tram. The Dubai Tram is an essential part of Dubai transport network.
Generally, Trams are one of the safest modes of public transport in the world.
What exactly is a Tram?
A tram is similar to a train in many ways. It runs on a railway-like line called a tramway. Just like trains, it consist of a series of coaches/carriages/vehicles. Trams usually run from a tramway to a railway line. It can also be modified to have the speed of a train.
The Dubai Tramway
The Dubai Tram is a tramway located in Al Sufouh. The tram service links Dubai Metro and the Palm Monorail and runs along Al Sufouh Road and Jumeirah Beach Road. It provides access to destinations such as the Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Lake Towers.
The tram runs for 14.5 kilometres (9.0 mi) along Al Sufouh Road from Dubai Marina to the Palm Jumeirah and Al Sufouh. It takes about 42 minutes to run from Al Sufouh to Jumeirah Beach residences.
In Dubai, to board and ride in a tram, you would need to pay with a Nol card. You can purchase one at any of the tram or Metro stations. A Nol Card can be used by passengers to check-in and check-out of the tram by scanning (tapping) the card at the platform screen doors.
The Tram has a fixed fare of AED 3 (N300) per ride, regardless of the distance travelled. But if you're paying for a ticket with cash, you would have to pay at a premium.
The trams run every 10 minutes during peak hours and 12 minutes at all other times. A trip along the entire route takes about 40 minutes.
Dubai Tram is fully automated. It provides a vast number of features and services for the convenience of the users. For instance, it is air-conditioned; it has Wi-Fi access throughout its network. It also has a complete mobile phone network. There is also dedicated Tram police to enforce rules.

So, if you’re visiting Dubai, and you plan to stay in Al Sufouh, Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeira, etc., you might need to use the Tram.
The Roads and Transport Authority, commonly known as RTA, a major independent government roads & transportation authority in Dubai coordinates the function of the Dubai Tram.
Autojosh.com takes you to the beautiful city of Dubai, to show you some photos of the fascinating Tram.
Now, why don't we have such mode of mass transit in major Nigerian cities?

There is at least that one person who we have loved at one time or other, but for one reason or the other did not feel the same way.
