Good morning everyone. I am a permanent resident with a south african ID and recently got married last month.my wife applied for a relative permit to join me here since 28th july.the tracking system says received at the abuja high commission and under assessment since then.she didn't receive any emails or sms after submission.she called the customer care 3 days after submission and she was told they sent an sms on their system but it didnt deliver.Pls is there anyone that submitted a long term visa/permit at abuja around the same time and has received it or still waiting for it?I am just trying to have an idea of the processing/waiting time for long term visas at abuja.thank you

ON ORO FESTIVAL _( Festival that restrict females movement )_
Oro Festival is an annual festival in most places in Yoruba land. Most places in Oyo state, Osun state, Ogun state and others mark this traditional festival yearly to the extent that a city in Oyo is called ISEYIN-ORO.
Odun Oro as mostly called is the festival that restrict the movement of women and young girls partially or totally throughout the period (at most a month). That period, women and young girls are not allowed to go to their schools and places of work in the name of the festival. The doers often claimed misfortune for those that violates their which is to go out among females. Haba, What a wicked festival!
Even, civilization apary, a person having very little sense of humor would know that the festival should be cancelled. Why? Because adequate measures have been put in place from time to time to fight insurgency- that threaten the life of individuals so that there could be freedom, policemen go out to ensure people are saved. How would you leave such festival that claimed misfortune for females unbanned?
In Nigeria of today, there are three recognised religion; Islam, Christianity and Traditional. Islam as it connotes peace, her believers celebrate thier weekly and annual festivals (Jumat, Eid il Fitri and Eid I'll Kabeer), people rejoice with them without restricting thier movement. Christians on the other hand celebrate Christmas, Easter and new year, people rejoice with them and also their freedom does not altered. How would the minorities in Nigeria, I mean the traditionalists be allowed to restrict our female movements in the name of their evil festival? Practise your believes and let practise ours.
It is even bizarre for such restriction to hold in this country after it was stated clearly in our constitution that every citizens should practise his religion freely without disturbing others, how would our government laid with the constitution and look at this without any say.
Our women are also the problem, they entertain fear and think their going out would truly led to their misfortune. How would a believer who listens to preaches in their respective worship places that no one can bring joy and misfortune except what thier creator has ordained believe this crooked lie. If you are still afraid, then let me remind you of a pious pregnant Muslim sister in Iseyin who came out during their festival period sometime ago, she was to them possessed by their god but fortunately the sister gave birth to triplet that night. Is that fortune or misfortune?
To this end, I am using this medium to call on all Nigerian who are females to disregard their lie and go out during this period and have it in mind that nothing would happen to them. Oro festival is an evil festival that should be abolished. Join me in campaigning this too!

The issue of Electricity in this blessed country has been my great concerns especially in the area I found myself. Even, they hardly give 30 minutes power in some places and it is not an overstatement that many places have Electricity only when they (NEPA or PHCN or Distribution Companies or what is their name called) want to distribute Electricity bills. This is annoying a times.

I called a Master in China who said he has experienced uninterrupted power supply since he got there since 3 months ago.

So do you think Nigeria can be like those countries in terms of electricity and what measures do you think we can use?

- President Buhari while on medical vacation in the UK made an important phone call to Nigeria
- The president made a call to Osun state governor, Rauf Aregbesola, to commiserate with him over the demise of his mother
- Alhaja Saratu, the matriarch of the Aregbesola family, passed on earlier this week.

More outpour of love and support has been shown to Osun state governor, Rauf Aregbesola, who lost his mother.

Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari who is on medical leave in London has joined the list of sympathizers
He called Governor Aregbesola to console him over the death of his mother, Alhaja Saratu.

President Buhari who has been away in a telephone call expressed sympathy with the Osun state governor and eulogised Aregbesola's mother Alhaja Saratu.

In his telephone conversation with Aregbesola, Buhari said Alhaja Saratu is worthy of commendable honour following her sacrifices in giving her children good moral upbringing.
Buhari prayed for the soul of the deceased and for the Aregbesola family which she left behind in mourning.
NAIJ.com earlier reported that Alhaja Saratu Aregbesola died in Ilesa, her hometown, early hours on Tuesday, August 1 and has been buried according to Islamic rites.

The Arabic word ightisaab refers to taking something wrongfully by force. It is now used exclusively to refer to transgression against the honour of women by force (rape).
This is an abhorrent crime that is forbidden in all religions and in the minds of all wise people and those who are possessed of sound human nature. All earthly systems and laws regard this action as abhorrent and impose the strictest penalties on it, except a few states which waive the punishment if the rapist marries his victim! This is indicative of a distorted mind let alone a lack of religious commitment on the part of those who challenge Allaah in making laws. We do not know of any love or compassion that could exist between the aggressor and his victim, especially since the pain of rape cannot be erased with the passage of time – as it is said. Hence many victims of rape have attempted to commit suicide and many of them have succeeded, The failure of these marriages is proven and they are accompanied by nothing but humiliation and suffering for the woman.
Islam has a clear stance which states that this repugnant action is haraam and imposes a deterrent punishment on the one who commits it.
Islam closes the door to the criminal who wants to commit this crime. Western studies have shown that most rapists are already criminals who commit their crimes under the influence of alcohol and drugs, and they take advantage of the fact that their victims are walking alone in isolated places, or staying in the house alone. These studies also show that what the criminals watch on the media and the semi-naked styles of dress in which women go out, also lead to the commission of this reprehensible crime.
The laws of Islam came to protect women's honour and modesty. Islam forbids women to wear clothes that are not modest and to travel without a mahram; it forbids a woman to shake hands with a non-mahram man. Islam encourages young men and women to marry early, and many other rulings which close the door to rape. Hence it comes as no surprise when we hear or read that most of these crimes occur in permissive societies which are looked up to by some Muslims as examples of civilization and refinement! In America – for example – International Amnesty stated in a 2004 report entitled “Stop Violence Against Women” that every 90 seconds a woman was raped during that year. What kind of life are these people living? What refinement and civilization do they want the Muslim women to take part in?
The punishment for rape in Islam is same as the punishment for zina, which is stoning if the perpetrator is married, and one hundred lashes and banishment for one year if he is not married.
Some scholars also say that he is required to pay a mahr to the woman.
Imam Maalik (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
In our view the man who rapes a woman, whether she is a virgin or not, if she is a free woman he must pay a “dowry” like that of her peers, and if she is a slave he must pay whatever has been detracted from her value. The punishment is to be carried out on the rapist and there is no punishment for the woman who has been raped, whatever the case. End quote.
Al-Muwatta’ , 2/734
Shaykh Salmaan al-Baaji (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
In the case of a woman who is forced (raped): if she is a free woman, the one who forced her must pay her a “dowry” like that of her peers, and the hadd punishment is to be carried out on him. This is the view of al-Shaafa’i, and it is the view of al-Layth, and it was also narrated from ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib (may Allaah be pleased with him).
Abu Haneefah and al-Thawri said: the hadd punishment is to be carried out on him but he is not obliged to pay the “dowry”.
The evidence for what we say is that the hadd punishment and the “dowry” are two rights, one of which is the right of Allaah and the other is the right of the other person. So they may be combined, as in the case of a thief whose hand is cut off and he is required to return the stolen goods. End quote.
Al-Muntaha Sharh al-Muwatta’ , 5/268, 269
Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
The scholars are unanimously agreed that the rapist is to be subjected to the hadd punishment if there is clear evidence against him that he deserves the hadd punishment, or if he admits to that. Otherwise, he is to be punished (i.e., if there is no proof that the hadd punishment for zina may be carried out against him because he does not confess, and there are not four witnesses, then the judge may punish him and stipulate a punishment that will deter him and others like him). There is no punishment for the woman if it is true that he forced her and overpowered her, which may be proven by her screaming and shouting for help. End quote.
Al-Istidhkaar , 7/146
Secondly:
The rapist is subject to the hadd punishment for zina, even if the rape was not carried out at knife-point or gun-point. If the use of a weapon was threatened, then he is a muhaarib, and is to be subjected to the hadd punishment described in the verse in which Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“The recompense of those who wage war against Allaah and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off from opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the Hereafter”
[al-Maaidah 5:33]
So the judge has the choice of the four punishments mentioned in this verse, and may choose whichever he thinks is most suitable to attain the objective, which is to spread peace and security in society, and ward off evildoers and aggressors.

please day before yesterday makes the fourth Tuesday my study permit application was submitted; I submitted on 11th July and till now got no response from the embassy. please why is it taking long like this? does it require just stamping visa in my passport? I ought to have resumed for school by now.

please advise me. What should i do sirs/mas.

N-Power postpones Teach Assessment test to August 09
N-​Power on Tuesday night announced that the Teach Assessment tests
scheduled to commence Wednesday August 2 has been postponed.
The information was relayed on the N-Power Twitter account @npower_ng.
The programme said “the test will now
begin on the 9th of August, 2017​”​.
The handle added that it will provide further details in due course.
Assessment test for N-Power Agro applicants will end Monday night.
The current Agro test only applied to those who registered between June 13 and July 14.
Applicants in different categories in N-Power test which started July 1 have now attempted the test. They are Tax, Health and Agro.
However, applicants who registered between July 15 and 27, (the extension period) will commence their test later in August.
Meanwhile, Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has assured the N-Power teach volunteers in the state that they will be absorbed into the civil service at the end of their service.

Dream is what people see in their sleep. This is also called nightmare. Using Hadiths, dream may be classified into two or three categories:

Two Categories of Dream

1. True dreams
2. Evil dreams. And this comprises of the Shaytan’s attempts to frighten and the workings of the subconscious.

Evidence:
Abu Qutaadah said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: _“True dreams come from Allah and evil dreams come from the Shaytaan. If anyone sees a bad dream that scares him, let him spit drily to his left and seek refuge with Allah from its evil, then it will not harm him.”_ al-Bukhaari, 3292

Three Categories of Dream
1. Visions or dreams that come from Allah.
2. Attempts by the Shaytan to frighten us
3. The workings of the subconscious.

Evidence:
Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: _“Dreams are of three types: glad tidings from Allah, what is on a person’s mind, and frightening dreams from the Shaytaan. If any of you sees a dream that he likes, let him tell others of it if he wishes, but if he sees something that he dislikes, he should not tell anyone about it, and he should get up and pray.”_ (Saheeh Sunan Ibn Maajah, 3154).

I dreamt what should I do? No problem, no fortune-teller or soothsayer...needed.
Understand the followings under each type of dream.

True Dreams
1. Know that it is from Allah

Evidence:
Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri narrated that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) says: “If any one of you sees a dream that he likes, it is from Allah, so let him praise Allah for it and tell people about it... al-Bukhaari, 7045

2. Praise Allah for it

Evidence:
Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri narrated that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) says: “If any one of you sees a dream that he likes, it is from Allah, *so let him praise Allah for it* and tell people about it... al-Bukhaari, 7045

3. Tell people but only to the one whom he loves

Evidence:
Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) says: “If any one of you sees a dream that he likes, it is from Allah, so let him praise Allah for it and tell people about it... al-Bukhaari, 7045. Narrated Abu Salama: I used to see a dream which would make me sick till I heard Abu Qatada saying, "I too, used to see a dream which would make me sick till I heard the Prophet saying, "A good dream is from Allah, so if anyone of you saw a dream which he liked, he should not tell it to anybody except to the one whom he loves, and if he saw a dream which he disliked, then he should seek refuge with Allah from its evil and from the evil of Satan, and spit three times (on his left) and should not tell it to anybody, for it will not harm him. " al-Bukhaari Volume 9, Book 87, Number 168
