Episode 64 - eigenvalues and eigenvectors

Today (Episode 64), I continued with Program 5 from Frame 47, Page 509. I explained the concept of eigenvalues and eigenvectors and demonstrated how to obtain the characteristic matrix, characteristic polynomial/determinant, characteristic root (eigenvalues), and their corresponding eigenvectors. I concluded the chapter by discussing Cayley Hamilton's theorem.

Education / Have You Ever Mimicked Or Nicknamed Your Teachers? by Lukgaf(m): 3:00pm On Jan 01
It is not uncommon for students to mimic and give names to their teachers based on their teaching style and repeated phrases during lessons.

A friend shared a funny incident that occurred after their teaching practice (TP) at a school. During the "send forth" program, students were asked to mimic some of their TP teachers for fun. One student humorously imitated our colleague, complete with mimicking how he introduced his lessons and touching his moustaches simultaneously. The scenario was said to have brought laughter to everyone.

I believe positive mimicking is beneficial. It aids learning and helps students remember important information shared by the teacher. Positive mimicry can solidify important lessons from the teacher.

Many of our teachers have shared stories of how they, too, mimicked their teachers in a similar manner. Personally, I mimic teachers I admire (positively) and appreciate students who mimic me (positively). Recently, a student sent me a voice note of how I explained a concept in one of my videos from A to Z, showing their engagement.

However, giving teachers nicknames based on their teaching style or repeated phrases may not be appropriate.

Atimes to avoid being labeled with a nickname stemming from a funny incident in class, I make it clear, "that does not mean you should be calling me Mr (that thing) o." This helps set boundaries in a playful manner. Who knows if they would insist and include me in their nicknames?

How do you feel when your students mimic you?

Do you like it?

Have you ever been nicknamed by your students?

Islam for Muslims / A Charitable Act Upon Every Bone by Lukgaf(m): 8:16am On Dec 29, 2023
This week, let's review the 26th hadith of the forty hadith of An-nawawih. For the past review, see here

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Every joint of a person must perform a charity each day that the sun rises: to judge justly between two people is a charity. To help a man with his mount, lifting him onto it or hoisting up his belongings onto it, is a charity. And the good word is a charity. And every step that you take towards the prayer is a charity, and removing a harmful object from the road is a charity.” [Al-Bukhari] [Muslim]

The hadith expands the concept of charity beyond the traditional understanding of giving money or material possessions. It includes a wide range of actions, emphasizing that even small, everyday deeds can be considered charitable acts.

One of the highlighted actions is to "judge justly between two people." This underscores the significance of justice as a form of charity. Fair and just decisions contribute to the well-being of society and are considered virtuous acts.

Also, acts of physical assistance, such as helping someone with their mount or belongings, are recognized as charitable deeds. This encourages a sense of community and cooperation, emphasizing that lending a helping hand is a valuable contribution to society.

The hadith mentions that "the good word is a charity." This emphasizes the importance of using positive and kind language. Words have the power to uplift and inspire, and using them for good is considered a charitable act.

Islam for Muslims / Clarifying Muslim Stance On Non-muslim Festivals by Lukgaf(m): 8:09am On Dec 29, 2023
It is another festive period for Christians, and there has been controversy regarding wishing those who celebrate this festival a Merry Christmas, with many people pointing to those who hold the belief of not celebrating them as extremists.

Are these people extremists? No!

Firstly, Islam teaches Muslims to respect and do good to people irrespective of their beliefs. In fact, Prophet Muhammad enjoins us to be good to human beings and even to animals. A good Muslim should be good to all mankind — respect them, show love to them, commiserate with them when they are bereaved, and grant an invitation when invited to a halal event. But there are limitations. Every belief has this. When there is a conflict in belief, then Muslims stay back.

Christians believe in the Trinity, while Muslims believe in monotheism. So, it is part of my belief and principle not to associate myself with anything that goes against my belief. It is just like our politicians. Some are in APC, and others are in PDP. When there are core principles that do not go with APC, will PDP abide? Does that mean PDP hates those APC members? No! When Akeredolu died, all of them, irrespective of the party, commiserated with his family, but they did not celebrate Akeredolu when he won at the tribunal. I hope you see the angle I am coming from.

So, people should stop tagging Muslims who do not celebrate non-Muslim festivals as extremists. They are not! They are acting based on their beliefs and principles. They are not extremists.

Politics / Opinion: Former President Buhari Should Be Probed by Lukgaf(m): 9:13pm On Dec 23, 2023
Following the investigation conducted by Jim Obazee, a special investigator appointed by President Bola Tinubu to examine the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)'s records during the tenure of Godwin Emefiele as governor, a report has been released.

The findings highlight various corrupt practices during President Buhari's administration and when Emefiele was CBN's governor. I think the former President should be probed and questioned by the EFCC for allowing such things to happen under his leadership.

Islam for Muslims / Maryam – Mother Of Jesus (peace Be Upon Him) by Lukgaf(m): 9:30am On Dec 22, 2023
Who is Maryam? Who is prophet Isa (Jesus)?

Below from JamiatKZN provides some account about the life of Prophet Isa (Jesus) and her mother, Maryam (May peace be upon them).

The Noble Qur’an tells us the story of Prophet Isa (alayhi salaam) - Jesus. He was one of Allah Subhanahu wa ta ’ala’s beloved messengers. The Qur’an Shareefa recalls Isa’s (alayhi salaam) miraculous birth, his teachings, the miracles he performed by Allah Subhanahu wa ta ‘ala’s permission, and his life as a Nabi of Allah.

Maryam (radiallahu anha) was the mother of Isa (alayhi salaam). She was great, not only because she was the mother of a prophet of Allah but because she perfected her faith. Her father was Imran (alayhi salaam). Al-Imran are from the descendants of Sayyidinah Ibrahim (alayhi salaam) and Al-Imran are the family of Sayyidinah Isa (alayhi salaam). This is the family of Zakariyyah (alayhi salaam) and Yahyaa (alayhi salaam).

Imran’s (radiallahu anhu) wife was a righteous woman whose name was Hannah bint Faqudh. They were unable to have children for many years. But Imran (alayhi salaam) passed away before their baby was born. She said, “O Allah I dedicate what is in my womb for you, for your service.” This child will serve in the masjid – Masjid al Aqsa. She was not thinking of this dunya at all. Hannah wanted her child to go to the service in the Masjid for its whole life.

When she said that her son is going to be the servant of Allah in the Masjid of Allah she said that is tahrir – freedom because if you are not a slave of Allah then you will be a slave of something else.

When Hannah finally gave birth, she gave birth to a girl and she said, “O Allah a boy is not like a girl,” meaning she wanted a boy so that he could remain in the Masjid. Allah Subhanhu wa ta ‘ala says that He knows best and the male is not like the female. whatever male she would have delivered would not be like the female that Allah has given her. The female that Allah Subhanahu wa ta ‘ala has given her is the best woman of the world. She doesn’t know this. But Allah knows who this female and is and who the woman this girl was to become. She is Maryam (radiallahu anha).

Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) says every child who is born is stabbed by Shaytaan. The first thing they do is cry. There is an exception of two. The ones not stabbed by Shaytaan, Maryam and Isa (alayhi salaam). Shaytaan did not stab them because of the dua of Hannah, “I seek refuge from you O Allah for her and for her offspring from Shaytaan.”

The most definitive quality of this noble and great woman, Maryam (radiallahu anha), was her chastity. Allah Suhanahu wa ta ‘ala loved her and favoured her. She was chosen by Allah. She was a woman of good etiquette, good manners, morals and well spoken. She was a woman of dignity.

It was not practiced that a woman would be in the Masjid but Hannah wanted to fulfil her promise to Allah so Zakariyyah (alayhi salaam)took it upon himself. He was a carpenter who ate from his daily earnings. He built a room in the Masjid for Maryam to grow up and have her privacy and worship Allah and not compromise her modesty. She grew up and Maryam (alayhi salaam) loved to worship Allah. At the times when she could not be in the Masjid she would go out to the East and Remember Allah. She ate, breathed and drank the dhikr (remembrance) of Allah.

Zakariyyah (alayhi salaam) would always find her, when he checked up on her – in Ibadah. But he noticed strange things. He would find with her rizq – sustenance from Allah. She would get the fruits of summer in winter and the fruits of winter in summer. these fruits were fresh. these things happened frequently. Zakariyyah (alayhi salaam)asked her where the rizq was coming from and Maryam (radiallahu anha) said, “This is from Allah.” She tells him that Allah Subhnahu wa ta ‘ala gives the ones he wants without any limits.

Allah Subhanahu wa ta ‘ala says the angels came to Maryam and delivered to her the news that she has been chosen by Allah above of the women of the world and Allah has purified her. The angels conveyed to her the order of Allah Subhanahu wa ta ‘ala, “O Maryam commit yourself with obedience to your Lord and prostrate and bow down with the ones who bowed down.” This refers to Salaah.

“When she withdrew from her family towards the East, and she took in seclusion from them a screen then we sent to her one of our angels [Jibraeel] and he represented himself to her as a well proportioned man. She said, “Indeed, I seek refuge with Ar Rahman from you. if you should be fearing Allah.” Jibraeel (alayhi salaam) said, “I am only the messenger of your Lord to announce to you the gift of a righteous son. ” This made her fear even worse. “How can I have a child when no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?” If Allah wants something to happen, nothing can stop it from happening. Jibraeel (alayhi salaam) blew into her and Isa (alayhi salaam) was created by the Kalimah – Kun Fayakun, Be and it is.

Maryam (radiallahu anha)) withdrew to Bethlehem. As the pains of childbirth came to her, she said she wished she would have died before this and been completely forgotten. She is alone and in the pains of childbirth, having hidden pregnancy for nine months. She was chaste and she is righteous, 16 years old and delivering a baby by herself. But Allah Subhanhu wa ta ‘ala wanted her to become a legend for all men and all women and so Allah provided her with tranquility. When things became so unbearable then Allah brought her comfort. She heard a voice say to her, “Don’t grieve, don’t grieve. Your Lord has provided a water stream under you. And shake the trunk of the date palm towards you and it will let fresh dates fall upon you.” Allah provided her with water and dates. When Jibraeel (alayhi salaam) gave Maryam (radiallahu anha)) the glad tidings of a son, he said that Allah had given her a word, Allah had given him his name Isa ibn Maryam. He was named after his mother, held in honour in this world and in the Hereafter and will be one of those who are near Allah.

Maryam (radiallahu anha) has her child with her and it is going to be difficult for her to convince the people that this is her son and it is the word of Allah. But Allah tells her she does not have to argue for herself. She is fasting from speaking. She went to her people carrying the baby, placing her trust in Allah, knowing that Allah was with her. She goes with her baby and immediately she is reminded of the righteous family she is from and accused. But she points to her baby, that he will respond. She hears her baby speak for the first time and defend her to the people. Allah Subhanahu wa ta ‘ala made him speak. He said, “I am the slave of Allah. He has given me the scripture and made me a prophet and He has made me blessed wherever I am. Allah has enjoined on me Salaah and Zakaah as long as I love. And dutiful to my mother and made me not arrogant.”

It is very important to note that fact that throughout her life, Maryam (alayhi salaam was accused by the Jews of zina and they do not see Isa (alayhi salaam) as a legitimate child. Allah Subhanahu wa ta ‘ala called Maryam (radiallahu anha) Siddiqa – a high level of righteousness due to a high level of sidq (truth).

The best of the women of the world are four – Maryam (radiallahu anha)), Aasiyah radiallahu anha), Khadijah (radiallahu anha) and Fatima bint Muhammad (radiallahu anha).

Islam for Muslims / Guidelines Of Practicing Sport In Islam by Lukgaf(m): 9:18am On Dec 22, 2023
Having physical strength, health and soundness helps a person to worship Allah by praying, fasting, performing Hajj, striving in Jihad, and so on. Being physically weak and sick is an impediment in doing many acts of worship.

However, there are matters of Islamic etiquette that one should pay attention to when playing sports and doing exercises to strengthen the body:

1. Seeking reward with Allah, and doing these things to help one worship Him and support those who have been wronged.

2. These activities should not involve anything that is contrary to Islamic teachings, such as participants bowing to one another , striking the face, uncovering the `awrah, gambling, and so on.

3. It should not distract one from obeying and worshipping Allah, honouring one’s parents and other important priorities.

4. One should not spend great amounts of wealth on it, to the point of extravagance; rather one’s involvement in such activities should be based on moderation and within the framework of Islamic teachings.

Allah knows best

Islam for Muslims / Re: The Value Of Charity by Lukgaf(m): 8:36am On Dec 15, 2023
This hadith draws our attention to how the Companions sought to compete with one another for the hereafter and in seeking the reward of Allah (swt). The level of concern the Companions of the Prophet (sas) had to constantly seek opportunities to carry out good deeds is evident in this hadith. Although there is nothing wrong with wanting to be wealthy with the intention that we may give in charity and gain reward from Allah (swt), the Prophet directs our attention to how Allah (swt) has provided many ways a believer can give in charity regardless of one’s situation in life. Remembering Allah (swt), benefiting others, and performing acts in a permissible way are all considered charity. Our concern should be seeking the Pleasure of Allah (swt) in as many ways as possible.

The main message of this hadith is that many Companions were coming to the Prophet (sas) and saying they do not have the same opportunities as others when it comes to giving in charity. The Prophet (sas) corrects that understanding and expands on the definition of what it means to be a charitable person. There are many ways to worship Allah and gain His Pleasure and we should take advantage of all of these possibilities. If we do, then we will have the same potential to earn the reward of Allah (saw) as anyone else.

On the authority of Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him):

Some people from amongst the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to the Prophet (peace be upon him), 'O Messenger of Allah, the affluent have made off with the rewards; they pray as we pray, they fast as we fast, and they give [much] in charity by virtue of their wealth.' He (peace be upon him) said, 'Has not Allah made things for you to give in charity? Truly every tasbeehah [saying subhan-Allah] is a charity, and every takbeerah [saying Allahu akbar] is a charity, and every tahmeedah [saying alhamdulillah] is a charity, and every tahleelah [saying la ilaha illAllah] is a charity. And commanding the good is a charity, and forbidding an evil is a charity, and in the sexual act of each one of you there is a charity.' They said, 'O Messenger of Allah, when one of us fulfills his sexual desire, will he have some reward for that?' He (peace be upon him) said: 'Do you not see that if he were to act upon it [his desire] in an unlawful manner, then he would be deserving of punishment? Likewise, if he were to act upon it in a lawful manner, then he will be deserving of a reward.

Islam for Muslims / When Nafila (voluntary) Prayers Not Allowed! by Lukgaf(m): 8:45am On Dec 08, 2023
Performing Nafl (voluntary) prayers and other acts of worship outside the obligatory prayers is rewarding. It's reported that Nafl prayers will be used to patch any deficiencies in obligatory prayers on the Day of Judgment. Below from IslamQA specifies timings when Nafl is not allowed.

Praise be to Allah.

Determining the forbidden time to offer nafl prayer by clock
Determining the times when voluntary prayer is forbidden varies from one country to another, and from one season to another. Hence we cannot explain what these times are by the clock for all lands and in all seasons.

When is nafl prayer not allowed?
But we will explain the general principles which will make it easy for every Muslim to work out when these times are. Hence we say that the times when prayer is forbidden are three:

From when dawn breaks until approximately a quarter of an hour after the sun has risen . You can find out the time of sunrise from the timetables that are available in all countries.
Approximately a quarter of an hour before the time for Zuhr prayer begins, until the time for Zuhr begins.
After you have prayed `Asr – even if it is an hour after the time for it began – until the disk of the sun has set completely. So the beginning of the time when prayer is forbidden is when one has prayed `Asr, not the beginning of the time for `Asr prayer, because the Muslim may offer `Asr prayer some time after the time for it begins. In that case the Muslim may offer voluntary prayers so long as he has not yet prayed `Asr, even if the time for `Asr has begun. Ibn Qudamah (may Allah have mercy on him) said in al-Mughni (1/429): “We do not know of any difference of opinion concerning that among those who say that prayer is not allowed after `Asr.”

Islam for Muslims / Re: Some Facts On Inisa Mosque Closure And Imamship Tussle by Lukgaf(m): 8:23am On Dec 08, 2023
Islam for Muslims / Some Facts On Inisa Mosque Closure And Imamship Tussle by Lukgaf(m): 8:17am On Dec 08, 2023
It is no longer a news that a central mosque was rumored to be shut down due to an imamship tussle in Inisa, a town in Osun State. While some sources state it was closed three years ago, not five, it's crucial to address the misinformation circulating on the internet regarding the mosque. Professor Abdrozzaq Abdmajeed Alaro (HafidhohuLahu ta'ala) has provided clarifications and insights on the issue:

1. The mosque closure occurred three years ago, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

2. Contrary to internet rumors, there was no involvement of juju (black magic) in front of the mosque.

3. The deaths of two imams, though coinciding with the imamship tussle, are likely unrelated. Given their age (70-80 years) and the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, where many lives were lost, it appears coincidental.

In conclusion, it is essential for Muslims to have a correct understanding of Islam. Allah is the ultimate decider of life and death, and no external factors can alter this reality. Mosques, being the houses of Allah, should not be closed down. May Allah reward those who stood up against this closure. Prof. Àlàro emphasized that death is inevitable when the appointed time approaches.

Prof. Alaro also noted seeing a video where the king mediated and urged support for the imam with the highest majority. He clarified that this is not a recommended method of selecting an imam. Imam selection should be based on the memorization of the Qur'an, and if contestants are equal in this, the decision should turn to the Hadith (following the Sunnah).

May Allah be with all Muslims in Inisa, granting them steadfastness, especially those leading the prayers now.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Allah Forbids Oppression by Lukgaf(m): 7:52am On Dec 01, 2023
Commentary Summary from 40 Hadith Nawawih

This hadith is a 'Hadith Qudsee', a Hadith where the Prophet (sas) narrated Allah’s (swt) words. This hadith stresses on the prohibition of all forms of injustice and oppression in Islam. It also encourages Muslims to seek guidance from Allah by means of supplication (du'a) and to rely solely on Allah, while highlighting Allah’s Glory and His inexhaustible treasures and bounties.

Unlawful Oppression
When Allah (swt) said, “I have made oppression unlawful for Me”, one might think of all the suffering, evil, and oppression that exists in the world. One might think, if Allah (swt) is Merciful, then why do these evil things occur? These things happen because Allah (swt) gave us free will and a choice to act according to what we think is right. We can deduce that it is human beings who choose to oppress one another, exercising their own free will.

The forbidden injustices can occur in many forms. The most extreme form of injustice is al-shirk, or associating partners with Allah. The second form is injustice towards one own self, by committing sins. The third form is injustice towards others, human beings, and other creations alike. Muslims should strive to avoid injustice, as it displeases Allah (swt) and warrants His severe punishment.

Allah is the Source of Guidance
Allah (swt) is the source of all guidance. None of us can give guidance. We may attempt to show people the right path, but the true guidance comes from Allah (swt) alone. Guidance is a great mercy and blessingfrom Allah (swt). This guidance, in the form of the Qur'an, was revealed to us by Allah (swt) through His Messenger, Muhammad (sas). Allah (swt) showed us the right path to follow and warned us against Shaitan, who is our greatest enemy. Reciting Surah al-Fatihah every raka’ah reminds us of our extreme need for our Lord and His Guidance and Support.

Allah is the Provider
When it comes to material goods, Allah (swt) is the One who provides us with what we need: food, clothing, etc. The hadith shows the generosity of Allah (swt). The more we ask Him, the more He gives us. He wants us to come closer to Him by expressing our needs with humility. Allah (swt) said: "Do not seek sustenance from anyone other than Me, for verily all those others from whom you might seek sustenance have themselves been provided for by Myself. So seek sustenance from me and I will provide for you".

Allah is always willing to forgive us
Although we are constantly committing sins, Allah is constant in His Mercy and forgiveness. The door of repentance is always open for all. Allah (swt) acknowledges our weaknesses. People are always subject to wrongdoings. They may neglect or delay performing obligations or indulge in sins, but Allah (swt) is Oft-Forgiving and His door is open to all wrongdoers. If we do something wrong at night, we should come back to Him in the morning and vice versa.

Allah’s Treasures and Bounties are Endless
Allah’s treasures are inexhaustible, so do not let anyone think that what is with Allah will diminish by His giving. The Prophet (sas) has explained in another Hadith: "Allah's Hand is Full; it is not diminished by His giving all of the day and the night. Have you not seen that your Lord has been giving ever since He created the Heavens and the Earth, and all that has not diminished what is in His Hand by the least” (Bukhari).

Accountability
At the end of the hadith, it is mentioned and stressed that everyone will be accountable for their deeds. Whoever finds a good record, he should be thankful to Allah and praise Him for that. Anyone who finds other than that, should not blame anyone except himself. This is a clear statement that shows the personal responsibility we have for our actions.

Conclusion
In many verses of the Qur'an and in the Hadiths of the Prophet (sas), the importance of expressing our need with humility to Allah (swt) is very clear. We should also constantly repent to him. Allah (swt) is The All Hearing, He will listen to us and accept our supplication and repentance. We seek of Him; His mercy, blessings and pleasure. The pleasure of Allah (swt) is our ultimate goal, without which we will indeed be among the unfortunate of creations. We ask Allah (swt) to count us among the winners, the ones who have earned His pleasure (Amin).

On the authority of Abu Dharr Al-Ghafari, of the Prophet (peace be upon him) is that among the sayings he relates from his Lord is that He said:

"O My servants! I have forbidden oppression for Myself, and I have made it forbidden amongst you, so do not oppress one another. O My servants, all of you are astray except those whom I have guided, so seek guidance from Me and I shall guide you. O My servants, all of you are hungry except those whom I have fed, so seek food from Me and I shall feed you. O My servants, all of you are naked except those whom I have clothed, so seek clothing from Me and I shall clothe you. O My servants, you sommit sins by day and by night, and I forgive all sins, so seek forgiveness from Me and I shall forgive you. O My servants, you will not attain harming Me so as to harm Me, and you will not attain benefitting Me so as to benefit Me. O My servants, if the first of you and the last of you, and the humans of you and the jinn of you, were all as pious as the most pious heart of any individual amongst you, then this would not increase My Kingdom an iota. O My servants, if the first of you and the last of you, and the humans of you and the jinn of you, were all as wicked as the most wicked heart of any individual amongst you, then this would not decrease My Kingdom an iota. O My servants, if the first of you and the last of you, and the humans of you and the jinn of you, were all to stand together in one place and ask of Me, and I were to give everyone what he requested, then that would not decrease what I Possess, except what is decreased of the ocean when a needle is dipped into it. O My servants, it is but your deeds that I account for you, and then recompense you for. So he who finds good, let him praise Allah, and he who finds other than that, let him blame no one but himself."

Islam for Muslims / Ruling On Wearing A String Around The Neck by Lukgaf(m): 7:40am On Dec 01, 2023
Is it permissible for men or women to wear a string around their neck? This thread provides an answer

Praise be to Allah.

These strings that are worn around the neck are either one of two things:

1. Either they have images of living beings, so it is not permissible to wear them, either for men or for women.

2. Or they are free of images. If they are only worn by women, and there is nothing in then that is contrary to Islamic rulings, then there is nothing wrong with them.

But if they are for men, as the questioner mentioned, then it is not permissible for them to wear it, because wearing necklaces is something that is only for women, so wearing them is imitating women, and hardly anyone wears them in the manner in which women usually wear them except effeminate men (al-mukhannathun) – we seek refuge with Allah.

It is proven in the hadith of Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) cursed men who imitate women and women who imitate men. Narrated by al-Bukhari (5885).

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-‘Uthaymin (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked about the ruling on men wearing chains, and he replied:

Wearing chains as adornment is haram [for men], because that is something that is only for women, and he is imitating women. The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) cursed men who imitate women, and the prohibition and sin is exacerbated if it is made of gold, in which case it becomes haram for men on two counts, because it is gold and because it is imitating women. It becomes even more abhorrent if it contains an image of an animal or an angel, and even worse and more abhorrent than that is if it contains a cross. This is haram even for a woman, if she wears jewellery in which there is an image, whether it is an image of a human or an animal, a bird or not a bird, or if it contains the image of a cross. This – I mean wearing anything in which there is an image – is haram for both men and women, so it is not permissible for either of them to wear anything that contains the image of an animate being or the image of a cross. And Allah knows best."(Majmu‘ Fatawa Ibn ‘Uthaymin 11/97).

With regard to these pendants, even if we assume that the men do not intend to adorn themselves with them, it is still not free from imitating women in wearing necklaces, and resembling immoral and effeminate men in their actions and adornment. So it is more appropriate to tell men not to wear them at all, and instead of that they can wear these slogans without putting them on necklaces.

And Allah knows best.

Education / Re: Explanation Of The Book "KA Stroud Engineering Mathematics" In Yoruba by Lukgaf(m): 9:48pm On Nov 30, 2023
Episode 60

Tonight (episode 60), I started the next program - where the authors explained matrices (Program 5, frame 1, page 489). I introduced the concept of matrices and highlighted the distinctions from determinants, which we covered in the previous session. I provided an explanation of what a matrix entails, including terms such as row and column. The video concluded with a demonstration of how matrices can be added, subtracted, and multiplied.
