Years back when i was in a financial mess - failed business, heavily indebted, family expenses etc and during this moment, my car started giving me regular issues, so i decided to dispose it and get a nigerian used car atleast to be mobile pending when i float back.
My wife heavily kicked against it, that over her dead body, she won't enter such a car with me.
That i am very pessimistic and always spoil her prayers. She will be going to church praying for the family to have big big things, i will be thinking small ...Okay now.
She said i should keep the money and work more for like 3 years to get the money for the kind of car she likes ---- i see. In 3 years alot would have happened that i would have dipped my hands in the money. A burial, maybe wedding, naming, school, medical etc anything
That money won't grow rather spent. SO i told her to keep praying while i get this naija used first to be moving around.
The aim is to pressure me. She knows my jumping around on bike and keke within a year will pressure me to suspend every otehr things and prioritize the car.
Afetr getting the car, she was the one to jump in first and when i asked her why she is not waiting for 3 years to get her choice car, reply? she turned the table on me.
That i am not a caring husband. SO i expect her to be walking under the sun and rain using keke while i am driving a car that i don't Love her ... Na sooooooo

Yes I agree with the mental stress on men. That is why I usually tell young dudes that being born a man in this world is basically 2-goals down. We develop the strength and mental toughness that ultimately makes you a man. The road is usually hard, rough and tough. If you are lucky to meet people who care about you as a man, then you are lucky indeed because men are not loved because they are men but for the value they can provide. I knew this ages ago. Everyone wants you to be a provider, protector, sacrifice for everyone but you rarely see anyone giving a hoot about your pain, fear and wants. That is why being a man is literally the toughest job out there because most times you are alone and expected to figure it out alone.

I will never get that part though. The part where men get small money and they rush to get married, especially to the same ladies who rejected them when they were broke. It's almost like men have this innate desire to watch themselves suffer. Then they still stayed in these marriages despite knowing they are not loved but tolerated because they can provide. The same set always tell me 'you better marry, you are not a complete man if you don't ' and when I point out how fvcked up their marriages are, they are like 'fear who no fear woman oh' and my mind is why dafuq did you have to marry who doesn't love or respect you? And you knew this yet you went ahead.

All in all, this community is one of the saving graces to help men grow and see their own value.

Yes we Guys keep complaining about this day in day out but we never seem to learn. When the money comes, we share the money. We spend on people who won't add any value to our lives and impress people who are just there to ruin us.

MY EXPERIENCE
There is the girl I was dating when I was I secondary school some 10years ago. I really loved this girl with all my heart (she is a nairalander and I know she would know herself once she reads this story, I don't mind). After leaving school and gaining admission into the university, we lost the vibe and only stayed casual friends. I got admission 2 years before she got admission into her own university (lautech).
Fast forward to her year of service and coincidentally she was posted to the state where I worked. Coincidentally, I got a multi-million naira contract. Life was good!
We started our relationship over again. I made sure she enjoyed my little money. We were even talking about marriage and life after her service. Then disaster struck. I entered a business agreement with a collegue and contributed all my savings into the deal. The new contract we were pursuing never come through. This girl's warm reduced immediately. Within a month she came up with the excuse of having a boy friend she was engaged to. Later learnt the guy had just gotten a good job.
Interestingly, I had a Neighbour, also a single lady who sold shoes and stuff. She was all nice to me when the money was flowing. All of a sudden she stopped asking after me.

Now I got my juice back and she is all nice again.

It is a FACT, women are calculating, they look for the greenest pasture. You got money? You got their heart.

Spend your money on your family and close guy friends, they will be there for you in your down time.
