RomanceRe: Independent Girls In Nigeria?? Tell Me Why I Should Believe In Love?? by Lunagirl(f): 12:49am On May 10, 2017
When I hear stories like this it makes me wonder one thing, where are these broke girls guys complain about?

I look at my friends and my circle of girl gang. I see the way all of us are hustling to make ends meet for ourselves without any assistance from boys or men. I look at us and I see our drive, determination, pride and passion.

Then I come to Nairaland and hear different stories. Then it just makes me wonder, where are these girls?

FamilyRe: My Unborn Will Bear My Own Name by Lunagirl(f): 8:24am On May 08, 2017
I like that you are strong enough to think about that. Personally, my siblings and I bear my father's own name.

Now let me point out some of the disadvantages I noticed.

We are somewhat disconnected from the larger family. While everyone is bearing a particular surname, we are bearing something else. It feels somewhat, trust me.

There is this joy that comes when you see or reconnect with a distant relation, especially when you guys share same surname. Sometimes people trace you simply because of the familiarity of your surname. I won't know because nobody ever asked me.

Essentially, just know that you are building another branch of the family. If everyone decides to start bearing their father's name, imagine how it will go.
FamilyRe: My Dad Has Refuse To Apologise To Both Children And Wife by Lunagirl(f): 7:44am On May 08, 2017
If he doesn't want to apologize, then let him not. I understand the need for apologies but I need you to come to terms with the situation and proceed with your life.

Remember, who you are and what you become should not be determined by your family background. You have a lot to accomplish so just get on with other things.

It has its moods. These days I have been playing Ellie Goulding's Army on repeat. I remember when it used to be Scars to your Beautiful by Alessia Cara, Second Hand Heart by Ben Haenow, Hand of God by Jon Bellion.

and Nigerian men are the model ones abi?

At least AJ is in Britain, so he will date the girls around him. You don't expect him to date Nigerian women

You people are in Nigeria with the likes of Uche Jombo and Ufuoma, yet, oyibo snatched them from under your noses and you want to list bad manners of Naija girls? Chris Attoh snatched Damilola from under your noses as well.

The unfortunate naija women that spend their lives with naija men end up running away because of his animalistic ways.

Before you critic the ladies, don't forget, na the same mama wey train those 'gluttonous' women train the men too, so, na the same character dem go comot with

If the women are bad, the men too are bad.

If this Nicole girl now was a Nigerian girl, y'all would call her olosho, baby mama and all that, but because she's British, you won't talk the usual smack.

I think he was too mild though. How can someone you haven't known for long start almost harassing you for money to make hair? The guts of some girls though...

If I were a guy ehhhhh grin grin
RomanceRe: by Lunagirl(f):
Just look at them.

The girl was not joking, she wanted the guy to give her the money for real. She turned everything back to him when she discovered he won't.

The guy was polite and sensible, but he's still an a_ss licker. Was expecting him to put the girl in her place but he still suckered up to her. Continue, you will surely create a Nairaland thread soon tongue tongue
RomanceRe: How Does It Feel? by Lunagirl(f): 6:34am On May 03, 2017
The fact that you are not seeing the suitors does not mean they are not there.

Not everyone is sociable and relaxed like that to the point of letting people into their homes that way.

And who has plenty boys visiting you helped?

factwriter:
Your response is somewhat laden with emotion, probably you have related with people (mother/child) who were once victims or (with due respect), yourself was a victim.

Whichever the case, the fact that you appear to have had a first-hand encounter with this issue evidently compromises your judgement.

In other words, you are being too extreme with your prescription.

If Nairaland were a more private (IM) forum I could have delve into my personal experience and show you how a "now blossoming" marriage was almost dissolve based on similar prescription like the one you are giving.

There's always a light at the end of the tunnel, what matters is just how high we can hold our heads up and how encouraging those we lean on could be.

Thumbs up for all the "enduring mothers" of the world.
I made it here today because a mother was there yesterday.
At this point, all I am going to say is that you have your point of view, I have mine and that is enough for me.

Leave with their kidshuh

You mean the kids she brought from her father's house or the one she had for the man? I thought a child belongs to both biological parents.

Do you know what happens to children raised outside marriage?
Do you realise how tough it can be for a single woman to successfully raise " disciplined and morally upright" children alone?

Everyone here seem only concern about "the woman", nobody appear to be considering the disadvantage of such decisions upon the children.

While I strongly condemn domestic violence (especial when it's unleashed on women being the weaker sex), I firmly believe that protection of any one spouse against domestic violence, be the man or woman, is the responsibility of the LAW and ACTS governing a land.

In the America, UK and the likes nobody tells you not to beat your wife, do so and go to jail while that same woman you abused "gets to remain in your house to enjoy the comfort and security" needed to raise the children she bore for you.

Again protection against domestic violence is the responsibility of the LAW.
Telling an aggrieved spouse to move out simply before she has a sustainable financial means is selfish cause you are putting the general future of the children at risk.
Thank you for taking your time to write that article.

Do you know how hard it is as a child to watch your father constantly abuse your mother?

Do you know how many times you begged your mother to leave but she won't?

Do you know how it's like to wake up in the morning and resent your father every single day?

Or how about the cries at night your mom thinks nobody hears?

How about if she dies and your dad goes to jail and you end up with some dumb uncle and aunt, separated from your siblings forever?

Yes, it will affect the kids to grow up without their father. But it is way better than watching your mother get abused.

Any woman strong enough to leave should leave, not because of herself alone, but because of her kids too.

RomanceRe: The ‘endure It’ Syndrome: Women, Flee From This! by Lunagirl(f): 11:18am On May 01, 2017
Final advice for women, never ever stop making money. Don't sacrifice it for anything. The reason why most women can't leave is because they can't afford to be alone with their kids.

Have the number of kids YOU can personally afford and make sure you keep making money to the point that if violence becomes a trend, you can easily leave with your kids.

If you tell these abusive guys to beat their fellow men for road them no go gree o.

But they will come home to form boss for their wives
RomanceRe: Wedding!! The Ladies Are Holding The Guys Back by Lunagirl(f): 11:14am On May 01, 2017
Cut your cloth accordingly. You must not have a wedding that will be featured in a newspaper. You must not have a wedding better than your friends own.

Do what you have to do with what you have. Everything depends on the bride and groom. If they share the same mindset, all these unnecessary expenses will be cut off.

Wedding is one day, marriage is forever.

If you really want to go big, either have a truckload of money or wait till your fifth anniversary.
