Politics › Re: Tinubu To Jonathan In 2012: Subsidy Removal Will Bring Hardship On The People by luvinhubby(m): 7:54am On Dec 19, 2015 |
TonyeBarcanista: I think we should be fair. In 2012 I opposed the subsidy removal but I'm a strong advocate of removal now. Why?
In 2012, the subsidy payment was N78 per litre, while the masses paid N65 per litre. Removing subsidy means the masses were to bear the extra load of 78 naira per litre in addition to the N65. That's hardship.... Beside, there was no paliative.
But now, the open market of pms is around N95 per litre. Meaning, government only pay N8 per litre as subsidy. Removing subsidy won't make any difference on the masses.
Hence, Subsidy Must Go! Tonye your argument is fundamentally flawed because if you follow Tinubu's postulation, removing subsidy will free funds that govt. can invest in infrastructure and considering 2012 and now, govt stood to have more free funds from subsidy removal than now and if GEJ subsidized with N78 and Buhari is subsidizing with less than N8 and the commodity is selling at an average of N110 nationwide, then Buhari and APC has no moral justification to remove a very minimal or virtually non-existing subsidy. Just make 3 out of 4 refineries in Nigeria work at 50% installed capacity and subsidy will die. "After all, governance is not rocket-science" - Prof. Yemi Osinbajo - 2015 |

PapaBrowne: Apparently we have the wrong Finance Minister. In times of Economic crisis, you need the best of heads and this lady doesn't appear like one of them.
Borrow locally The question is when the local economy is comatose, how would the populace buy bonds to borrow the FG money. You buy bonds when there is excess liquidity and you want to save long term. There is no money in the system, hence there is gonna be little or no investment in bonds. Worse still, Nigeria has been taken off the Emerging Markets Bond Index, so no Foreign money coming into our bonds. When that happened, the FG said, to hell with JP Morgan.
Economic management is the job of an Economist. This lady, although with a basic education in Economics is an Accountant by experience and nothing more. The ministry of Finance manages our economy. She would have been better off as an Auditor General. Financial Management in economic terms is a totally different ball game. And bad enough, her highest degree is a Post Graduate Diploma.
You set out a 6 trillion Naira budget with an oil price benchmark of $38 when oil is trading at $36 and going downhill. First error. You decide you will raise a chunk of you finance form custom duties and taxes. You fail to realise that because the economy is weak and dollar rate is high, there would be much less importation, hence reduction in your income from customs. Also you forget that taxes are on profits, so with a weak economy most companies would declare losses which means they would have no tax to give to you.
I fear for Nigeria. APC has already started out on a terribly wrong footing. First it appear to have no direction at all. And secondly it has the wrong kind of people running its affairs. In a time of crisis, you need the best brains AND especially those fit for purpose. Kemi Adeosun is not capable of running our economy especially in a time like this. . Excellent, but watch the e-bots come for your head. Over to you Alhaji Lai Lalasticlala |

Gentlebabs: I use a 2008 Black Honda Accord, it had an issue my mechanic in Festac diagnosed wrongly and said all the fixing will cost #60,000.
My friend who has the same type of car advised me to take it to Oyingbo. There they fixed the car and turned it to a brand new baby. It was as if I had never driven the car before.
Because of hectic work schedule, they even came to my house to pick the car.
My mechanic is Azeez, and when they introduced him to me just last week, they gave me his number as: 07087866954
Now, I can cruise at a higher altitude without regrets! Will you be kind enough, for the benefit of other Honda enthusiasts, to detail us what issue that was mis-diagnosed in Festac that Aeez fixed for you. Thanks |

lilkech: @luvinhubby, kingreign, siena & gazzuz
I drive a 2004 eod i4. For some months now my gear has been acting funny but I decided to keep managing it until recently when it got worse.
Before whenever I'm driving for more than 30mins the gear makes a 'kpom' sound and the gear stops changing, it remains on D and wouldn't increase more than the 2nd gear.
Now this issue occurs every minute once I'm on the road. The way I temporarily stop this problem is to park, Switch off the car and restart it then the gear would be working properly again (until the next minute)
I took it to my mech at warri and after scanning he informed me that I had to change the solenoid A (which I did) but the problem still persisted. After running another scan it revealed that solenoid BC was bad.
My brother, as at today I have bought 2 different solenoids BC but still no improvement. Scan keep telling us the solenoid isn't good and my mech says to see a good one would be hard because nobody takes off a good solenoid from a gearbox and sells separately.
I need to know how much I can get a good solenoid from lagos and I also need some advice from you guys too. Thanks Your problem is not A, B or C solenoids, since the gear has started to stall and de-select, am afraid it is no good news but wait for oga gazzuz to use better grammar break the news to you. |
