noblezone: Our forefathers lived before Nigeria. We can live without Nigeria.
Saying the only alternative to Nigeria is Nigeria sounds like slavery.
Indeginuos people have right to self determination, we have an alternative out side Nigeria.
Now, a National conference was held that should assist to usher in your decentralisation. Now, the North has rejected it.
Bros, I am not discussing "what should be", I am discussing realities. , Am being realistic here, Nigerians clamored for a Buhari led change and already they are beginning to loose hope with the so-called change agenda of the scam called APC. By 2019, they will be back to ground zero, looking for another working alternative and gradually we will limit our options to only decentralization. Self determination is still possible under a true federation, United States and U.A.E are practical examples. Oil price is fast crashing, soon there will little or no money to share and the North will realize the futility of waiting of waiting for oil money. |

Right now my inspiration is an alternative to Nigeria. The only alternative to Nigeria is Nigeria, but a Nigeria that is a genuine REPUBLIC. By that i mean a Nigeria that is decentralized, where every zone or people group is allowed to be itself and express itself while constituting part of the federation. Self expressing, self determining zones with only the federal controlling armed forces and diplomatic missions. Case study is United Arab Emirates. |

Now, what I'd the Nigerian Dream? That one day, we will have a Nigeria led a president in his 40's or 50's who is a Harvard or UNN first class graduate with dynamics idea and 21st century pragmatic approach to leadership. (An Ibe Kachikwu, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala) A Nigeria where the group of army officers that fought the civil war and retired will stop passing this country around as private property.(E.g OBJ, IBB, Buhari, Danjuma etc.) A Nigeria were merit is accorded the first place in all sectors, politics, academics, civil service ect. and quota system alongside federal character is buried. A Nigeria were 21st century advances technologies are deployed to PREVENT corruption at all sectors and not trying to punish people after the deed has been done.(e.g present JAMB exam system). A Nigeria were true federalism is practiced both fiscally and politically. Let Lagos, Rivers, Enugu, Delta states earn their income and spend on themselves and not generating income to be shared among other. More will still come |

I want those with practicable solutions to the numerous problems facing Nigeria to bring it on.
I want someone to inspire me. Never let your dreams die, Joseph dreamed another dream even when his 'brothers' threatened to eliminate him and his first dream. The Nigerian dream will still come to pass, am sure of that, let's not give up because of the temporary set back of a few Hausa-Fulani oligarch. We missed the chance of re-negotiating and setting Nigeria straight at the Gideeon Orkar coup(shared similarities with the Rawlings revolution in Ghana)> As for me, i still keep hope alive. |

Someone should convince me with great reasons on why I should be a Nigerian.
For all I know, Nigeria is an estate of slave traders. Our founding father Mr. Laggard was a hardened criminal whose cruelty and inhuman treatment of out fathers, stinks.
He forcefully, took our lands and our rights, and then created a nation for us.
Nigeria. is a jungle!
This is a nation where innocent people will be sleeping in their homes at night, and a group of their fellow citizens will attack them, kill them, many them and burn their houses.
If any of them complains, they are told, it's ONE Nigeria! One Nigeria at whose expense?
Who can inspire me?
Bring it on. There is something sinister and ungodly about the person and name of Lugard. One of the ten houses in my secondary school was named after Lugard and the house comes last in alsmost everything, sanitation, inter house sports and most of the people that comes last in most classes were from Lugard house. Also, no national monument named after him has endured the test time, not even one. |

SABOTAGE: Army Col, 10 Officers Set Nigerian Tankers Ablaze, Pave Way For Boko Haram
There were shocking revelations at the weekend that an Army Colonel, some junior officers and soldiers who were taking part in the military offensive to reclaim communities taken over by the Boko Haram terrorists in Adamawa State, have been arrested for sabotage.
https://dvsl3w2q45hb8.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Mutiny-Army1.jpg
Top military sources said that the Colonel (a Muslim) who was Commanding a team of three Armoured Personnel Carriers, APC’s, with the capability to fire up to a range of 1.5kilometres or even more, had instead of pursuing the terrorists, deliberately set the APCs on fire between Gulak and Madagali, before running away with his team of soldiers into the bush.
Saturday Vanguard gathered that the Army authorities were outraged over the development and ordered the arrest of both the commander, the junior officers as well as the soldiers under his command. Narrating how the ‘’embarrassing incident occurred,’’ a source who was privy to the development noted that until the latest development, the Special Forces of the Nigerian Army who commenced the putsch to rout Boko Haram terrorists from Bazza, Michika, Gulak and Madagali from Vimtim, had successfully dealt with, and inflicted heavy casualties on the terrorists up till Gulak.
It was said that between Gulak and Madagali, the Colonel who had all along been prided with air surveillance reports, was again informed that Boko Haram terrorists were approaching his team in six Toyota Hilux Pick Up vans from the Madagali axis.
“However, rather than blasting and taking out the terrorists in their pick-up vans; he ordered his soldiers to jump out of the APC’s and set the armoured tanks on fire, without realising that he was being monitored. This was shocking because the terrorists were armed with weaponry which were grossly inferior to the firepower of the Nigerian Army Amoured tanks. After accomplishing the sabotage act, the Colonel and the junior officers and soldiers ran away into the bush, claiming that they were overpowered by a better armed group of Boko Haram terrorists,’’ Saturday Vanguard was told.
Military sources said that the action of the Colonel and soldiers under his command had given vent to the disclosure by the top hierarchy of the military that there were so many fifth columnists in the military working against the country’s determination to flush out Boko Haram terrorists in the land.
Consequently, Saturday Vanguard was told that a Board of Inquiry, BoI, had been set up by the Army authorities to investigate the Colonel and his soldiers after which a Military Court Martial would be set up to try them for conspiracy, treason and willful sabotage among others.
Also speaking on the development, a senior officer confided in Saturday Vanguard thus, “You can now see why the Military Court Martial which is currently sitting is inevitable. The uninformed would feel that soldiers who are fighting the nation’s battle are being unjustly punished. But the truth is that many of them are sabotaging Nigeria and making the insurgents look formidable for reasons that cannot be explained. Some of them appear sympathetic to the insurgents.
“How can it be explained that several APCs that cost up to $1million each in some cases or more will be willfully destroyed by Commissioned Officers, COs, who swore to defend the territorial integrity of their nation, just to help terrorists? That is treason of the highest order.”
The source added that the new vigour and determination with which Nigerian troops had been prosecuting the war, resulting in the killing of several commanders of the sect as well as hundreds of the insurgents, was the fallout of the new position of the military high command to deal with those pursuing a different agenda from that of the Federal Government.
The Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh said last week that the death penalty imposed on the 12 soldiers who were tried for treason was lawful and in accordance with military dictates. He spoke at a three-day conference organised by the National Security Adviser in collaboration with Trim Communication Nigeria Ltd on Media/Security relationship in crisis management.
According to him, “The day you join the military you have signed off, whether life or death, and it is obey before complaint. How can a soldier just jump out of the APC because you want to donate APC to Boko Haram; and somebody is there talking about constructive mutiny.
“The laws are there, if you run away from the enemy, you will die and that is what the military law says. Apart from the old Nigerian law, we abide by the military law. Nobody forces or conscripts anybody into the military. It is a voluntary service, and so if we have this type of challenge, you should be able to confront it and not to run away.” - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/10/sabotage-army-col-10-officers-set-nigerian-tankers-ablaze-pave-way-boko-haram/#sthash.yEr08jzq.dpuf Buhari's administration needs to step up it's game as these unnecessary blame game is not doing him any good. The mutiny at the 7th division Maiduguri was never as a result of lack of arms & ammunitions but some soldiers felt aggrieved that the G.O.C. went against the rotation rules at the division & selected soldiers from only a particular section of the country & most of them were killed in an ambush in a supposedly covert operation that only the G.O.C had knowledge of. The soldiers later turned their guns on the G.O.C, out of anguish of seeing the bodies of their ambushed colleagues being brought back to the barracks.
Stealing public funds is ungodly but this administration should not give that as reason for an offence as bad as mutiny or treason. |

By Gbenga Olarinoye Osogbo – Minority Leader of the Osun State House of Assembly, Oladejo Makinde is dead. The lawmaker who represents Ife Central Constituency died, Sunday afternoon, in a hospital in Ekiti state. Makinde, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in the state was said to have died after a brief illness. Late Makinde, popularly called ‘Igwe’ was a former chairman, Ife Central Local Government Area of the state. His corpse was said to have been deposited at the mortuary of Ekiti State Teaching Hospital. The Chairman, Osun Assembly Committee on Information and Strategy, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye confirmed his death to our correspondent on the telephone. He expressed shock at the demise of his colleague. Also confirming his death, the chairman of PDP in the state, Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa said he dies following health complication. Meanwhile, the house has described the death of one of its members as painful and unfortunate. A statement by the Chairman, House Committee on Information and Strategy, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye said the death of the lawmaker came to the Assembly as a great shock. The Assembly noted that though the late lawmaker was battling with illness, but his response to medical attention gave them the confidence that he would soon be back on his feet and join the legislative business in the house. The late lawmaker candour and relationship with other members of the Assembly, inspite his political partisanship, according to the parliament, would be greatly missed. “It is shocking that late Honourable Makinde died at this critical period that he is needed in his immediate and political family most. “In Osun Assembly, we are really saddened to hear of the death of one of us. We will mourn deeply his passing due to his valuable contributions to deliberations in the Assembly. “Politics apart, his oppositional engagement as a minority leader on the floor of the house has assisted the 6th Assembly to arrive at reasonable conclusions on several issues. “Though, he is a member of opposition in the Assembly, but he was not being taken as one when it comes to issues relating to the development of the state, hence, we will miss him dearly”, the Assembly stressed. It sympathised with the immediate and political family of the late lawmaker, consoling them to take solace in the fact that he live a worthy life. The Assembly also prayed that God almighty should grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable lost. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/12/breaking-osun-assembly-minority-leader-is-dead/ |

Budgets are never secret. They are an open document on expenditure and allocations of govt.
When has any budget planning and presentation become an act of secrecy? Follow my posts and see my drift, what has been made public is the summary Buhari presented to the national assembly, that i have seen, the food part should be part of the 19 billion budgeted for presidency and i have asked my friends in APC, presidency and the media to either validate the 1.7 billion on food or out rightly deny it while giving Nigerians how much of tax payers money will expended to feed the presidential house hold in 2016. |

Mynd44: I heard there is no breakdown. Then I hear that a certain amount was budgeted for food.
What sort of philistinism is this What the president laid before the joint house was a compressed summary, a detailed expenditure outline will be presented to the various commites of both houses so it is still a 'secret' document till the D.Gs and ministers do their defense. The thing is all over the social media, so a denial or otherwise from the PSP is highly needed on it. |

Mynd44: State house allocations includes but is not limited to the running of the house including the security, painting, works and lowering anf all other running of the entire house. It is also out of this that hosting evebts is coming out of .
Why am I even responding to this if the OP can call the report of a 1.7 billion in food which emanated from Trent as "reliable sources"
Do me a favor Gerrarahia.
As for the breakdown, wait until each minister come to defend his/her allocation and you get to hear what goes where. Stop putting the cart before the horse.
Whats with Nigerians sef? Nothing has been brought before us on the contrary as a proof that it was a lie. |
