No technology is oerfect, but the card reader is going to make rigging far harder to get away with.

If the results are disputed (anf they will be), any polling station with an unusually high number of visually verified voters is going to come under suspicion. Plus they can compare the results to identify statistical anomalies. If 60% of biometrically verified voters vote for APC, but 99% of visually verified vote PDP in the same polling station, we'll immediately know something is up. Plus forensic experts can focus mainly on the visually verified votes to find the mass thumbprinted ones during the tribunal.

The PDP is not helping its reputation by fighting against the use of a globally recognized security feature that makes elections fairer. They might as well admit that they were planning to rig and Jega is refusing to play ball. This election is going to be very interesting.

If no technology is perfect & perfection is a process, INEC should have started the card reader experiment in previous elections & achieve a near perfect status before the most important election in Nigeria.

Nobody is disputing card readers, the concern is experimenting with an imperfect technology for first time at a presidential election, they had 4yrs to prepare for this.
We cannot afford the kind of scenario that played out in 2011 which resulted in a one week extention now, that could be catastrophic.

Any pastor that abandons his pastoral "calling" for political office was never a called pastor by God in first instance.
Some are called by God.
Others are called by men.
Some called themselves.

Issue of IDPs voting still largely unresolved till now as voting is to be done 'outside' the camps and Jega was insisting of feb 14th polls

40 per cent failure in trial will result in over 23 million voter failure in card readers.

It is too big a stake to experiment with potential failure of card reader in a presidential election.


Jega cannot afford to fail now.
