akanni: So, how would you interprete the link i sent on renewing your TRV? On the link you sent, why would i extend my study permit that is still valid? Let's just stop further exchanges on this topic ok? thanks and enjoy the rest of your day. You are very correct bro, you only need a visa to enter or re enter Canada as long as you have a legal reason to be Canada i. e study permit or work permit no one cares if you have a visa as long as you are not leaving the country... Visa can't be renewed it can only be re-applied for. |

Bro you are confusing things here. Nothing like being legitimate when you are holding an expired visa/TRV. In any country the moment your visa expires you becomes an illegal immigrant. Visa extension is done while you still have valid visa in that country else you leave and reapply from your home country. Not correct for Canada |

loladeoye: @ luvly3 God bless ypu. I have applied to all those 3 provinces. Hoping to get admission soon. Thanks and God bless you too... Though it's easier to get PNP when you school in those provinces, eg if you school in Manitoba or Saskatchewan you are only required to work for 6months and den apply for PNP, if you schooled in other provinces and relocate to MB, you need to work for 1 year then apply for PNP or for SK you need to work for 2 years, BC is the only one that doesn't really require work experience for PNP application, you can still relocate there after your studies just ensure you get updated info because rules Keep changing . You can always check PNP requirements for different provinces as a guide.. Oh I forgot to mention that CEC which is a federal program for immigration( which most students in ontario previously use for PR where you can work for one year in your field of study and apply for PR) has changed, now you would require a positive LMIA for your experience to be awarded points in the EE system and it's not so easy to get a LMIA approved. Note if you going for a Master or Phd student in Ontario or BC you can also be nominated for PNP without having a job offer or work experience... Though Ontario PNP has caps for each year. |

@LOBOFC here is a report from the first round of draws they did on EE...
Express Entry rounds of invitations Under Express Entry, candidates who meet the criteria will be accepted into a pool of possible candidates for immigration to Canada.
Candidates will be ranked against others in the pool using a point-based system called the Comprehensive Ranking System. CIC will regularly select the highest-ranking candidates from the pool by inviting them to apply to immigrate to Canada as permanent residents.
Note: Entry into the Express Entry pool does not guarantee a candidate will be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence. Invited candidates still have to meet eligibility and admissibility requirements under Canada’s immigration law (Immigration and Refugee Protection Act). CIC will invite candidates from the Express Entry pool to apply on a regular basis. Every round of invitations will have a set of instructions the electronic system will use to invite candidates from the pool. These instructions will be posted on the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website before each round of invitations..
These instructions will include:
the date and time of the round of invitations, the number of candidates that will get an ITA, and if it applies, which specific immigration program(s) will be included. If the instructions do not specify which immigration program the candidates must be eligible for, the invitations will be based solely on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.
Rounds of invitations Ministerial Instructions respecting invitations to apply for permanent residence under the Express Entry system #1 – January 31, 2015 11:59:48 UTC
No program specified
See full text of Ministerial Instruction
Number of invitations issued-779
CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate invited-886 points
Footnotes. This round of invitations included Express Entry candidates from the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class and Provincial Nominee Program. |

LOBOFC: Hello people,
I just applied under EE. My score was 432. However, my status is blank. it is saying i need to register under the job bank which i have done but can't seem to link the two together.
I have registered under the job bank but CIC profile is still showing not yet register.
Please i need answers to the following...
1. Is my 432 score ok? Do i stand any chance? 2. How do I link the job account i created to my CIC application? 3. What do I do next after this?
Thank you for your assistance.
Regards, From what I read that score is too low, they just completed the first round of PR invitations through EE, and the least score was 886pts... EE has made things real difficult to get PR even for international students.. In order to get that kind of score one has to go through PNP... So guys a piece of advice go to provinces where they have PNP like Manitoba, BC and Saskatchewan.. All the best. |

jaylinaaa: Hola mi amigos, como estas?
Like Tsola said, school here is quite demanding. But I trust my naija people. It's in our blood. Nothing is too big for us. Lol.
Anyway, Victoria is great so far. The weather is amazing. The coldest it gets is 7degrees which is a piece of cake compared to other places. And University of Victoria is another story. Campus is beautiful, serene and just really nice and it also has a good ranking in Canada so you might want to check it out.
Ain't nobody gat time for -28degrees weather. That being said, I hail all of you in those places. You guys are the strongest!
Just stopped by to say hello and if you need information on the awesomeness that is Victoria or B.C in general, send me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Mas tarde. Thats nice, I envy you so much the weather here in sudbury Ontario is crazy, today was the height when I had a field class for 2 hours in - 22°C weather and felt like - 35°C, I could barely feel my feet... That been said I am actually thinking of relocating to BC next year though, read that BC PNP is great plus the weather is awesome, but not sure about jobs though. |

Inkblood: hello guys. please i need help on getting a course. my initial application was rejected for some reasons which i am trying to tackle. one of those reasons was my course. i have a beng in electrical engineering, and i applied for graduate certificate in projects management. now i want to get admission in electrical engineering and its seeming impossible. i have a 2"2 so cant do masters, i have to apply for a pgd in electrical engineering. however despite all the search i have been doing for about 7 weeks now, i could only find one school that does pgd in electrical engineering(i dont know if i am doing it wrong), and that is uni of saskatchewan. i applied with their prequalilfication form and havent heard from them for over 6 weeks now. what i need is to know a school that does pgd in electrical engineering so i can apply before i run out of time as most schools seem to be ending application in march. i would really appreciate any help please. i have checked so many schools, even used that university finder. only seen saskatchewan so far. any info that could be helpful please. thanks guys. . Check Concordia University, they have lots of pgd programs |

nkechima: Got delayed d second time the reasons given are travel history purpose of visit and personal assets N financial status
other reason will be unable to take care of my family without working in Canada and two similar reasons like DAT tho i did not include my family in my application. i stated it clearly in my SOP dat my hubby , mother and nephew staying in our home will take care of my children while away and also ticked NO in the family form after writing dia names.
the above reason makes me feel like some of the VO's do not really go tru some application b4 ticking some boxes or dia are always eager to delay people going to colleges or somtin Or perhaps they don't read the SOPs... |

Inkblood: Please and please, people, just reading throught the thread now and it seems I'm not the only one going for pgd first. Please can anybody assist with a search for schools? The school I had in my previous application was a bit expensive. About $15000, although it was 1year. Went ahead with it as I did not have enough time then. Well now seeing as I am looking at september, I won't mind something cheaper. And if it is possible to get admission for may that would be the best. Help would be highly appreciated as I have been googling all day and can find anythingx reasonable. Thanks in advance. What program do you intend taking... Check Selkirk college and college of North Atlantic, they have tuition of less than 10k... |
