Why am I a Nigerian? This is what leadership is all about unlike a particular leader that's afraid to die.

Obiagelli:
We can judge Buhari's mental capability/capacity at the town hall meetings. The pdp is looking for an error they can capitalize on, just as they made the certificate the focal point of their campaign. Didn't you see Sambo reading from a script during the debates last weekend?
The more reason APC should have come out to show off.

@barcanista, thanks for that link. I'll go through it when I get home.

God Bless you too! I voiced my opinion and some section of the NL "progressives" criticised me like I'm a black sheep. I am 200% sure that GMB will triumph and will more fans in the debate. I don't know the arrogance and overconfidence of APC.
Though a PDP fan, Publisher sent this to me and it really got me thinking.
I wish that I can have your confidence. APC is hiding something from us.

You still don't get the point, the pdp needs something to boost their failing campaign, they could find it in that debate, just one mistake and the pdp would ride it to heaven, remember Obama lost his first debate woefully but he had a second chance, that second chance buhari might not get.
Haba! Obiagelli we are not talking of a president that's an intellectual giant. APC refused to debate with Jonathan! a walking encyclopedia of talking ypside down.

I'm beginning to think APC is hiding something from Nigerians.

From my point of view, the Buhari handlers know they are far ahead of Jonathan in their internal polls. This is the reason why they are getting cocky and they don't see why they should give room for an error. This is a case of playing safe. They are running a flawless campaign.

On the other hand, the Jonathan camp needs this debate and it is showing from far away that Jonathan camp is desperate for a gotcha moment. Conventional wisdom tells me Buhari camp knows more than what we know. There was intelligence report last week that Jonathan was given questions ahead of debate. Someone from Jonathan camp leaked it to Buhari campaign organization. Jonathan camp is filled with mole from APC. I still believe FFK is in Jonathan camp to hurt him. An intelligent person should know that FFK brings nothing positive to GEJ's campaign other than to hurt him. Feelers say OBJ planted FFK in Jonathan's camp and I don't have a single reason to doubt it.
This is just an excuse, If indeed the questions were leaked, they should also find a way to get access to the leaked questions.

Why can't he do both? This is beyond APC Or PDP......I thought APC is all about positive change.

Good job by GMB. I would have loved to see him in a debate with Jonathan. There is no doubt in my mind that Jonathan stands no chance against Buhari in a debate. Buhari has leadership skills written all over him. His poise and charisma is second to non. Buhari cannot be compared with Jonathan in every aspect of life. Jonathan would never had become a president in 200 years if he wasn't chosen by Obasanjo to run with Yar'Adua. Jonathan is an accidental president. He had absolutely no intention or leadership skill for the seat of presidency. People like Jonathan are born to follow.

Whoever advised Buhari to stay away from Channels debate has taken away extra 4% points he would gain from debating Jonathan. Standing side by side with Jonathan alone would have shown who the boss is.........
God bless you. I still can't believe he pulled out of the debate...... APC have not gotten to power, they are already arrogant.

For me, tyrant and dictator aptly descirbes Buhari to an extent.....whether he is loved or not. Hitler was also loved by many, FW Declerk was loved by many.

Definitions of tyrant and dictator describe Buhari to me, even if he may have had a few positives in the eyes of some.

ty·rant
(tī′rənt)
n.
1. An extremely oppressive, unjust, or cruel ruler.
2. An absolute ruler who governs without restrictions, especially one who seized power illegally.
3. An oppressive, harsh, arbitrary person: My boss is a tyrant.

tyrant
(ˈtaɪrənt)
n
1. (Government, Politics & Diplomacy) a person who governs oppressively, unjustly, and arbitrarily; despot
2. any person who exercises authority in a tyrannical manner
3. anything that exercises tyrannical influence
4. (Historical Terms) (esp in ancient Greece) a ruler whose authority lacked the sanction of law or custom; usurper

dictator
(dɪkˈteɪtə)
n
1. (Government, Politics & Diplomacy)
a. a ruler who is not effectively restricted by a constitution, laws, recognized opposition, etc
b. an absolute, esp tyrannical, ruler
2. (Historical Terms) (in ancient Rome) a person appointed during a crisis to exercise supreme authority
3. (Government, Politics & Diplomacy) (in ancient Rome) a person appointed during a crisis to exercise supreme authority
4. a person who makes pronouncements, as on conduct, fashion, etc, which are regarded as authoritative
5. a person who behaves in an authoritarian or tyrannical manner
dictatress dictatrix fem n

2. dictator - a ruler who is unconstrained by law

If the shoes fits..............................
You are entitled to your opinion but haba! I still don't understand on what basis you are comparing him to Hitler. The definition you gave reinforced my point that he was in a position to enriched himself, a position where there was no check and balance but he still refused to take the bite. I still believe his positivity outweigh his negativity, he may not be the best but he's far far better than Jonathan.

If that was what he meant, would he not have said," it was the miitary era, I would not do the same today?"

He simply justified it and did not distance himslf from it today, and this was the prime opportunity to do so.

This man's ego and arrogance is a MAJOR worry.

He stops a train contract for Lagos , in the past.....he can not admit that in hindsight it may have been the wrong decision.

He is caught in a small issue over his certificates, he replies that he does not need to provide it to anyone.

He justifies his killing of young men in the past, without trial and one for a crime that did not carry a death sentence at the time......again his reply is an arrogant justification.

This man is a dictator and a tyrant.........
I will agree to a smaller extent that he's arrogant but I totally disagree that he's a dictator and a tyrant.

This is a man no one has accused of being corrupt..... I won't call that dictatorial, I will called it discipline. This is a man that's loved by millions of his people.... I won't call that tyranny, I will call him a self assured man . This is a man that has been in a position to enriched himself but he never did....... I won't call that arrogant, I will say he's a man of conviction.

In defense of Buhari, the crack down on the press happened during the military era. so all what he said was in defense of his past action. But I will love to know his presence policy, thought or action towards press freedom. I also want to know how he's going to adapt his thinking towards the democratic process .

Politics › Re: What Exactly Is PDP Scared Of? by luvmijeje(f): 4:40am On Jan 30, 2015
I also think that the choice of assassinating the character of a competitor is born only when you've tried all possible methods and not succeed; it's a strategy you implore when you feel really threatened by his current position in the minds of the public and you've run out of innovations. This strategy seem to be the final resort for them PDP people
In addition, the public are not buying into it, the timing and sequencing of those lies makes it unbelievable.

Buhari may not be an eloquent speaker but no matter how many questions was leaked to Jonathan, I'm ready to bet with everything that he still can't beat Buhari. This debate is an opportunity by the candidates to discussed issues . APC should rethink their stance.

Nigerians deserve to see the presidential candidates debate with each other. It's totally wrong for APC to throw out the water with the baby......... They should have find a way to fine tune it to their their own interest. I've been waiting so long for this debate.

Politics › Re: An Unconfirmed Report: Buhari's Principal Killed Few Hours Ago by luvmijeje(f): 10:24am On Jan 25, 2015
PassingShot:
Very wrong analysis!

How is the first possibility "unlikely" when you clearly wrote "It is either he was killed by the President's foot soldiers so as to "teach him a lesson". Just because there are other ways a government or its agents can deal with enemies does not make this option less preferable especially if it is carried out by GEJ's sympathizers/foot soldiers.

Funny enough, the 2nd possibility which is highly unlikely is what you call "very possible". How easy it is for an anti-Jonathan element to decide to kill the principal just to win sympathy for Buhari or blackmail Jonathan in a campaign that clearly shows that Buhari is ahead?
How callous does it appear, that a man who released Buhari's result and saved him from ridicule will be killed by a friend of APC/GMB? Does it make any logical sense to you?

Your 3rd point needs no counter. However, it's better not to comment sometimes instead of contradicting yourself just so you appear neutral about an issue.

Barcanista, you come across as a mole in the camp of progressives.
Barcanista is not a mole....... He's just a guy between the devil and the blue deep sea...... He has to choose between the love for this country and his love for Ijawland.

He's far sighted..... He understands the repercussions if this news is true and it goes viral. He understands why every sane Nigerians must kicked Jonathan out of that seat.
Politics › Re: Buhari's Permission Required For Confirmation Of Results - Cambridge by luvmijeje(f): 6:20pm On Jan 23, 2015
Buhari must not bend any further. The school didn't need to show us his result but they did..... all they could have done was to tell us that he's a product of the school........ His classmates has come out to testify that he's a product of that school. So what else?

For crying out loud, this is less than two weeks to election and APC is playing defensive. It's high time APC increases the heat on Jonathan ass.

Get off my mention, you're just a foolish scumbag and I have advise you on what to do, go to Kano or sokoto and lead the riot, I'm sure there is freedom of gathering there.

What exactly are you saying? You're unhappy that the riot held in Niger republic and not in Northern Nigeria amd you stupidly saying innocent civilians killed by Boko Haram, and you're calling someone a hypocrite, who is more hypocritical if not you piece of human waste.

Sorry they disappoint you by not rioting, but it is not too late, carry all members of your family and head to Kano to start the riot.

Foolish lowlifer, so you wanted a riot to improve the chances of JonaTAN winning, how about promoting all the achievements of his government in 6years rather than the spilling of blood to gather votes.
OP I hope you can read. Take all your family to the north and start rioting. Honestly, you guys are psychologically not alright. I don't understand how a right thinking human being will wake up in the morning and start opening foolish thread.

You have no brain. Were the "one or two Americans" not referring to the generality of the troops? Were US lives not lost as a result of their poor equipment? Did thousands of Americans not die in those campaigns? Why did CNN not highlight the problem? Is that not blatant hypocrisy and double standards? Better stick in the kitchen where you belong.
Excuse me? Do l look like your wife or your daughter?
