You are so dumb, must you pray on a public road before your god answer your prayer?

My first SUV is Toyota Highlander '05,I can't really say I enjoyed driving this vehicle. It came with a 13 pin gear and anytime I change the shaft the gear has to be reprogramed. The gear started having issue to the extent that my mechanic advised me to change the gear box to a 10 pin.

I really want Nairalanders to suggest the brand of a mid range SUV that doesn't give much issue.

The summary of what was written here is :-

1) you can open an e wallet either with NIN or your existing bvn linked account
2) you can send e naira from one wallet to another FREE of charge

Emphasis on the second point which is you can send naira from one account to another.

In other words imagine doing bank transfer with no charges, no atm fees, no pos fees nothing like how most countries operate.

This is the summary of what the e naira offers you

This ain’t cryptocurrency neither is it a new currency or a currency backed by naira.

It’s just the CBN telling you from the 1st of Oct 2021 you can now send naira electocnically free or charge
This is just the summary, nothing special.

The number of PoS operators and bank tellers will reduce drastically since there won't be much need for physical cash, even to buy tomatoes in the market the seller will prefer you transfer to his e_Naira account because it attracts no extra charges.
It's practically not different from the existing online banking platforms like Carbon, Kuda and others.

We need a need to know if we can use a it to buy stuffs from online stores in Nigeria and outside Nigeria.
We need to know if we can use it to buy power, pay bills, etc.

Lol what is the significance of rack-centre to CBN's digital currency?

You think CBN will host such government asset on a private server?

Do you have any idea how much megawatts of electricity the so called rack-centre data centre consumes?

Do they rely on the national power grid or they use generators?

When you comprehend how huge that electricity demand is, then do you slowly now realise how much damage feul generators of that large size is doing to environment?

Why do you think Tesla and many US support pulled the plug in bitcoin? Is power generation/requirement of data centre a joke to you? grin

Well hopefully you have answers to these questions. grin

All you have done is to tell me Lagos has a data centre and you are jubilating grin
We have data centres scatterd all over Nigeria Bro,running and maintaining data centres isn't an issue in Nigeria anymore. We have IPPs that powers these data centres backed up by solar grids in Megawatts.Nobody rely on PHCN to run a data centre.I agree the capital required is huge but it's duable.

Fantastic, this sound like a good news to me. Maybe by this time next year 1 E-Naira will be equal to 10USD.

Update on the e-Naira 30th August,2021.

e-Naira: CBN sets N50,000 maximum transfer limits for non-account holders

The detailed presentation sent to Nigerian banks on the e-Naira project mentioned that it will have a transaction limit for customers, non-interest-bearing CBDC status, and an account value limit.

There are three levels to the CBN “Speed wallet” issued primarily to meet the October 1st deadline.

As a means to transact value, the wallet doesn’t compete with existing banks, but is awaiting the creation of wallets by banks and other innovators.

With the first tier, Speed Wallet can be used by anyone who does not have a bank account. However, users will have to submit a passport photo, a name, birth date and place, a phone number, and their address.

A fifty-thousand-naira limit is in place for Send & Receive, the minimum requirement is the individual’s National Identity Number (NIN), which will be validated. A cumulative balance of three hundred thousand naira is fixed each day.

An account with an existing bank is required for users of Tier Two wallets. The user is limited to sending and receiving two hundred thousand naira per day with a Cumulative Balance of half a million naira daily. A Bank Verification Number (BVN) is the minimum requirement for this level.

Tier three allows daily transactions of a million naira, with daily cumulative balances of five million naira. In order to qualify, you need to have at least a BVN.

Those who possess this merchant level can send or receive a million naira daily. A merchant can move as much money as they want into their bank accounts, however.

In context, the Central Bank further disclosed, neither Merchants nor Customers using the wallet will be charged a fee.

The report stated that the e-Naira is a legal tender for the entire country. It also mentioned that it will have non-interest-bearing CBDC status, a transaction limit for customers, and a value-based transaction limit.

The CBN also outlined that:

Nigerian banks will be allowed to invite all their customers to register for the e-Naira. Besides pre-generated codes, the banks can send invitation codes for onboarding to a specific list of selected customers. Onboarding will be done for customers who have a code assigned by their banks. The banks have already validated and verified these customers.

The wallet provided by its institution was merely a stop-gap measure for meeting the deadline, given that banks and other licensed operators may provide their own wallets since it didn’t intend to compete against the banks.

As a National Critical Infrastructure, the e-naira system will be subject to comprehensive security checks, all data and personally identifiable information (PII) will be kept off the ledger and will not be stored on the ledger.

Breaking: CBN drafts guidelines to Nigerian banks on e-Naira

The CBN recently sent a presentation to Nigerian banks about the eNaira project, revealing more details about its design and operational module. As seen by Nairametrics, the presentation described how the new currency would be designed and operated.

In fact, the report states that the e-Naira is a legal tender for the entire country. The report also mentions that it will have non-interest-bearing CBDC status, a transaction limit for customers, and a value-based transaction limit.

Participants in the e-Naira program are featured in five stages, including:

Monetary Authority Suite; The Central Bank will be handing the first product component that includes issue, distribute, redeem and destroy the currency. Store data on a cloud server, monitor and analyse currency transactions.

Financial Institution Suite; licensed financial institution will be able to request currency or issue stablecoins, manage digital currency across branches, KYC, identify and AML compliance capability.

eGovernment Suite; the government will b able to efficiently process digital payments sent to and received from citizens and businesses.

Merchants will provide low-cost payment and business management software, POS, remote payment solutions, online capabilities, transaction analysis and reconciliation.

Retail Consumer Suite; features user-centred designs for a great user experience. The architecture will be expandable to enable innovation; features advanced privacy and security.

Consequently, the proposed transaction cost for the e-Naira wallet was also outlined by the Nigerian Central Bank.

The digital currency infrastructure does not charge for user-to-merchant transactions and P2P wallet transactions.

It shall be the responsibility of Nigerian banks to promote and market the centrally issued digital currency as a cash alternative to existing and potential customers in support of the Nigerian apex bank’s goal for financial inclusion.

In order to catalyse the adoption of the e-naira, banks will facilitate onboarding and provide world-class customer service.

Moreover, the Central Bank stated the wallet provided by its institution was merely a stop-gap measure for meeting the deadline, given that banks and other licensed operators may provide their own wallets since it didn’t intend to compete against the banks.

As part of the digital currency initiative, Nigeria’s central bank has made clear that NIBSS and other switching platforms will still be relevant, existing infrastructure can be integrated and leveraged in the e-Naira implementation.

As a National Critical Infrastructure, the e-naira system will be subject to comprehensive security checks, all data and personally identifiable information (PII) will be kept off the ledger and will not be stored on the ledger.

STATEMENT CONCERNING SAMUEL ORTOM, THE GOVERNOR OF BENUE STATE

Governor Samuel Ortom has few political principles. We can see this from the fact that he has changed political party five times during his undistinguished career.

Every time he feels the wind may be blowing in a certain direction, he follows it.

Unfortunately, for the good citizens of Benue State, the most dangerous direction he blows in today is that of sectarianism and ethnicity.

In an attempt to boost his sinking political fortunes, Ortom takes the cheapest and lowest route possible by playing on ethnic themes – and in doing so knowingly causes deaths of innocent Nigerians by inciting farmers against herders, and Christians against Muslims.

Specifically, Ortom stirs up hatred by targeting one single ethnic group in Nigeria – using language reminiscent of the Rwandan genocide.

As was the case in Rwanda where the then Hutu leaders of the country incited their countrymen against each other, claiming there was a “secret Tutsi agenda” over the Hutu, Ortom claims there is a “secret Fulanization agenda” over other ethnic groups in his state and in Nigeria. This is a copy of the language of Hutu Power - which falsely, and intentionally, accused the Rwandan Tutsi of plans to dominate the country.

This wicked talk is aimed at giving cover to his so-called “policy” on the Ranches Establishment Law – which in reality is purely an act of denial of the law - intended to withhold rights and freedoms from one ethnic group alone, whilst inciting race hatred against them amongst all others.

These are not the actions of a man who should be trusted with running public services or holding public office.

For the governor of a major state in Nigeria to be politically driven by ethnic hatred is a stain on our country.

The good, and fair-minded people of Benue State deserve more than this, and we look forward to the next elections when they have an opportunity to restore its greatness.

Peace is all we want in our nation.
Not anything that will invoke more deaths and violence against any citizen of Nigeria.
Peace shall reign in our nation.
And the enemies of this country will all die painful las las.
They can NEVER escape the brutal and Total judgment coming their way.
A normal, sane Nigerian that doesn’t support violence and killings have no problem in saying AMEN to the below prayer.
But the hypocritical ones will always run away from the prayers, cos they know themselves.
Y'all will never end well in life as long as you keep supporting evil and bloodshed being sponsored by the evil and wicked politicians Y'all wanted back in power.

There was so much revenue and following the civil war lockdown in the South East- an oil boom!!!
