you have to be very careful when typing the affidavit and make it convincing that no matter what finacialy sutuiation he finds himsefl he wont back up from sponsoring you .

According to the school, the best 5 applicants for 2016 will be giving scholarship by August when the decision will be made. For now, just got the international grant of 3,200. The good part is that one can pay tuition in three installments which is always due on the first week of the semester.

Finally, na visa be the koko oooh, no be school profile lol.

What's these terms TRV, PGC, SOE, Soa, LoE etc
is IElts required?

TRV = Temporary Resident Visa
PGC = Post Graduate Certificate
SOE= Statement of Explanation Also known as Statement of intent or purpose
LOE = Letter of explanation A.K.A Statement of explanation

No Ielts isn't required. On the recommendation form it will be stated by your lecturer or supervisor that you were taught in English.

Masters in lib & inf. studies. Meanwhile hope u are a good statement of purpose writer? l had to respond to three sets of questions with specific word limit, its part of the application process. Good CGPA is also needed.

ln a nutshell, l prayed for the grace and favour of God as l only applied to UBC. God's grace is always sufficient so l got it.

yes, you will have to apply online with your unofficial transcript. UBC will request that you ask your alma mata to send your official transcript after issuing u a conditional offer of admission.

Osemigho:
UofT and UofVic plus any other schools that can offer full ride. My choice of school in canada is determined by level of international funding provided for MA courses, not name of school or location. It is left for them to determine if am compatible with them, while I fulfill requirements which may include getting a supervisor.

Please, who applied to UBC recently? Is their application fee waiver for Nigerians still on?

I applied in june and didn't pay a dime. All the best of luck.

No u wont need to get any supervisor before and after applying. you will be assigned an advisor about two months to the begining of your class.

That was the reply l got from the school when l asked about getting a supervisor after l was admitted.

on IELTS: l didnt write any. the recommendation form to be filled by your lecturer or supervisor will take care of that. They will specify on your English capability.

Sorry for the late reply.
For the tuition, since it's stated in your admission letter then it's OK. However, you must show that you can pay the first year tuition by having sufficient funds in your account. You might as well decide to pay the fees if the terms and conditions are favourable.

The best bet would be for your sponsor to transfer the funds into your account and write a letter to that effect. Your sponsor must state why he wants to sponsor you and must provide an affidavit to that effect. The sponsor been a 3rd person must ensure that sufficient funds are indeed available at least putting into consideration funds for the immediate family.

Indeed the best bet remains transferring the funds to your own account. 3rd person sponsorship requires absolute definition of genuineness.

2. My 1st sponsor is my cousin in law, l and his wife do not bear the same surname. We (I and her) grew up together. I have their(my sponsor and wife: my cousin) 6 years old wedding picture with me as ashoebi, her (my cousin) matriculation with me and her other siblings present, and marriage certificate where her family location, LGA and state of origin is written which is the same as mine. Its better the business is registered but if its not, then you have a great deal of explanation to do in ur sop. U can add ur complimentary card, but u need more convincing proofs. U know say people no dey easily trust Nigerians.

I am new hear but l appreciate all u guys have been doing.

Feb 2nd 2016, l was delayed. Course of intended study was Public Relations and Corporate Communication (PGD) Fanshawe College. I was refused for this reasons : Purpose of visit, close ties to country of residence and Canada, Personal Financial situation and assets, travel history.

Presently l have gotten a Masters admission from Univ. Of British Columbia for January 2017 in line with my UG Studies. Although l intend deferring to Sept 2017 soon.

I travelled to Ghana in May to clear the travel history issue.

My uncle stays in Canada and his wife who was my sponsor stays in (US) but uncle is leaving Canada before December this year. My new sponsor is my counsin- in- law.

I bought a land few months ago which is less than a million while my last account statement was 500k.


My wedding is next month.

I don't work with my previous employer. I am self employed at the moment. My university librarian gave me a letter stating his willing to absorb me as a digital librarian ( field of study: MLIS with focus on Digital Resource Management)

My questions are:
1. how do l tackle my previous reasons of denial Purpose of visit, close ties to country of residence and Canada, Personal Financial situation and assets, travel history?
2. Explain to the visa officer why l am self employed?
3. Convince the visa officer that l don't intend to stay back at my uncle's house in Toronto?
4. Can anyone who is a good SOP writer help me go through my SOP?
