I'm currently watching the match between Morocco and Nigeria again. I'm looking at Ayinde's red card and I'm more convinced that it's not a redcard. Ayinde stood her ground while the Moroccan player ran in to intercept the ball, at that point Ayinde's leg was up in the air it was only natural that she finds the ground to place her leg as her eyes were on the ball which was in possession of another Moroccan player. She didn't run in to stamp her feet like Ajibade's redcard or the over looked Moroccan redcard that was reduced to a yellow card. She was simply stand having her leg raised and the morrocan ran into her space. |
Does this mean the beginning of an end to our dynasty's reign in women football. We failed to qualify for the female soccer Olympics and here we are now , though we qulified for the World Cup , but we wouldn't be champions of Africa to console us for missing out of Olympic female football. This is how trends starts and the earlier we nip this in the bud the better for us. We may not have lived up to expectations on the world stage but we are a dominant team on the African continent. Sadly, this tournament put me at the edge of my sit watching our beautiful super falcons. The girls have tried they have done their best. They held their nerve playing with 9 ladies for over seventy minutes including overtime. I'd recommend that we host the next women competition to give our team a fresh sense of balance and understanding of the true Nigerian spirit, ruthlessness, mastery that has over the years characteristized our female team |
Today's loss drained me. |
Plumptre's energy in that defense cannot be overemphasized. Uchiebu has been a monster in the midfield though lucky not to have received a second yellowacard plus a handball in the box which the referee overlooked Our goalkeeper, chiamaka has been impressive though she could have done better to parry the ball further. Ohale at the back is rock solid |
You see my plight is not with anyone but that lady running the commentary. I'm guessing she is a former falcon player. She is having this vibes of silent joy that the team is playing the way they are. When Morocco equalized she went like "this is what we want to enjoy from a semifinals game" she was excited and happy She falls into that class who believes their set was the best. I remember when Asisat was to win her fourth African player of the year title and perpetual nwokocha didn't vote for her simply because she didn't want asisat to match her record. |
We've been robbed.another redcard to ajibade |
Morocco pulled one back. 1-1 |
We have scored Goooooooaaaaal Kanu scores |
I expect onumonu to switch her mindet here , you've not been a goal scoring striker in this tournament. Your team is a player down all you do is have a good hold up play and the rest will carry on. It's her first competition |
Redcard for Nigeria at the start of the second half. Ayinde the midfield engine. |
Onumonu hasn't clicked rightly in this tournament. But I'd expect her to still get the goal in this match. Moroccan defense hasn't been convincing. They goof but we haven't seized those chances from their blunder. I believe the Moroccan defense will commit more blunders in the second half but i hope this time around we bury those chances. It could be an easy tap in for onumonu |
That vAR penalty awarded to South Africa in the 93minute is highly controversial |
TheSuperNerd:Looks like he added some weight |
Watching sone Aluko play for Ipswich against Crystal Palace now. He is bossing the midfield playing as a centra midfielder. He made one assist and has just scored a goal. Though Palace are leading 4-2 |
Is there a thread for our upcoming match against Morocco |
Curtisaxel10:I remember her many years ago playing under 17 or so. She was slender but had technical gift amongst her peers. Same with ordega. They've come a long way |
Well, pastor Tunde Bakare did speak well for me. He should have recognized both pastors for speaking well. Was that a remiss or ? |
TheLoneCitizen:This reminds me about a certain Yakubu Aiyebgeni in the Israeli league scoring a CL hat trick. I read that on complete sports back then |
charlesemeka85:Lol. He looks like he has been through a lot here |
When you play with players like onoma Ebi at the Centre Back, Rita Chikwelu at the midfield and an half fit Azeezat Oshoala as a CF this is what you get. We are down by two goal and even if we weren't these were obvious deficit in the team. We playing one pattern of getting the ball to oshoala who cant do much. Obviously they'd come back in the next two games to stat pad and all but this isn't just good |
Finally some bandage for oshoala's knees. I hope it help her through the half. But if she can't continue they shouldn't force her. |
Oshoala is not comfortable with the ball on her feet. I feel she might have picked up a knock. They should take her out the earlier the better. She is conscious of how much she commits to 50/50 balls |
Too many speculations , rumors , player linked , etc. Pls what's the latest in the super falcons camp p |
TheGoodJoe:It's not the same baba. Nunez left Almeria when they were playing in the second division. Sadiq will be playing with Almeria in the Spanish top division, he is largely responsible for bringing them here. All he needs is just to score 15 goals in his first season. Then he can move to wherever |
BascoVanVeli:Are those lines , I mean the green and darker grass lines 100% straight |
What a game. End to end. Breath taking. This game could be a FIFA under 17 finals. Only hitch was the pitch. Both teams showed potential. Our midfield was compact and sturdy till the end. Our center backs were exceptional. Our goalkeeper was adjudged the man of the match I will not be surprised if both teams meet again at the nations cup knockout. |
This is befitting of a final. |
Nigeria and burkinfaso's jersey really looks similar. |
eddie7:It is an offsided goal to me. The only thing that blew this matter wasn't even the attack on the AR by the Kano pillar official. But it was the referee's statement where he said he disallowed the goal because his life was threatened. That got me laughing seriously |
Honestly speaking, burkinafaso have got very young looking players. |
yinkeys:Relax we are as average as Serbia, Poland and Switzerland. We are pure average with them. We may edge Komekn British teams excluding England. But we are slightly better than Wales, Scotland, michael obafemi's Ireland and North Ireland |
Danielnino00:Wow. |
