Amedino99:I've always loved Dutch football from my first World Cup in 1998. I expect at lest a semis. The quality isn't there like in the past but it's still a team to watch if you want to enjoy good footie |
Na Cameroon useless pass, theirs is just to qualify for the World Cup. They wouldn't do play anything. |
andrewbaba44:I don hear you. Till then. |
Amedino99:It's not easy for Ghana. It's not a walk over for them oo. Don't get me wrong. What I'm saying is I just substitute Ghana for Nigeria and I know if Nigeria plays Korea and Uruguay it's an even contest. I know it's not empirical analysis but subjective. So since Nigeria can match those teams Ghana should be able to match them too |
andrewbaba44:Nigeria will match Uruguay. Nothing special about them. Even at confederations cup na gambo way keshi carry go mess us up |
andrewbaba44:It will be tight for Uruguay against Ghana because Uruguay isn't the same team of 12 years ago. Plus Ghana can play with the similar spirit they played against Nigeria to revenge their 2010 World Cup exit where Suarez handled the ball on the touch line |
Only Senegal and Ghana looks likely to qualify |
Funny enough ghana's group looks good for them. With Portugal, Korea and a chance to get their revenge against Uruguay |
Obviously Tunisia can't make it out of that group with France and denmark Morocco can't make it with Belgium and Croatia |
do4luv14:Yes I'm aware of AFCON qualifiers omonh up soon. The World Cup starts November. 2006 was easier for me to accept even though I cried as I was much younger hoping Angola will at least play a draw in their final match to allow us qualify. |
How do one really overcome hurt of not qualifying for the World Cup for the next 8 months. It's gonna be hard. Today is World Cup draw. Very soon European league will end and then gbam we are talking World Cup matter again. Congratulations to others who are supporting the other African teams on the spirit of African sportsmanship. Because I can't have another African team qualifying to the knockout and not my own Eagles |
How much did davido pay to get that Qatar World Cup song |
I kind of understand why Rohr never thought of his team as having superstars and why he always sounded modest about them. As a matter of fact they are very much average, and we failed to wake up on this thought. My dissatisfaction with Rohr was that he allowed his knowledge of the averageness of the team to simmer into his selections and overall cautious game plan. And and the latter point this didn't work especially with teams we should not be average against. CAR at home but he redeemed himself with a win on a neutral ground. Then seira Leone at home and away. Then CV. He was no longer playing like we were average , he was setting us up like we were coequal of below average teams |
semid4lyfe:Those advocating for the closure of this thread do not mean it in that sense of it. They are only still smarting from the loss. And we can understand their grievances. Anyone who is passionate about Nigerian football will find a way to channel his or her displeasures. Unlike those who invaded the pitch after yesterday's game to loot and create commotion as a way of channeling their grievance everyone |
I'm watching metro tv ghana now. And they are having their sport discussion where they are talking about the eagles. They saiyng; we were overconfident and complacent before the match but Prior to game we were intimidated by the fans at the stadium. Moses Simon was nowhere to be found and that he switched wings early on with chukwueze but still there was no result. They also spoke about the nature of our arrival at kotoka airport. That we had sent our protocol team to warn everyone not to take picture of our players as they arrived. And that when we got to the stadium in Kumasi, we asked the security to send out everybody including the media team and GFA members. After that we asked that the security in the stadium excuse us from the stadium as well. One of the anchor got pissed and said they the Ghanaian contingent couldn't even try all these when they get to Nigeria. And that it is because they Ghanaian are too nice on foreigners. |
Camp update oo. Possible line up. Who is impressing the most in camp. We didn't even see lookman and 2 by 2 initiation to GWG. |
Etebo helped stabilize the midfield , he is naturally built for African football. But I thought I didn't understand why a professional like him should pick up an unnecessary yellow card. He was up and down on the referee when he had canceled the penalty. Perhaps he was our penalty taker for the game. No one fed osimhen. It's so painful that he had half chances he couldn't convert but barring that, osimhen did not get chances clear cut chances. This begs the questions of Moses Simon and Chukwueze. They both were rather wobbly. I had loved Simon play and rejuvenation from the AFCON as I had expected him to pick up from where he left. I hope chukwueze's injury is not so serious In fact I thought the reason why chukwueze struggled at AFCON was due to the absence of osimhen who he understands his play patter due to their many years of playing together. But I'm fast doubting the potency of such link. We have emphasized on the need to have someone who can deliver better on chukwueze's wing and doesn't stifle the right back from moving or crossing the ball for the striker. I think chukwueze if fit can play from the bench. Zaidu on the left back looks comfortable with his pace. He was much fitter than the right back Ola Aina who hasn't seen game time at Torino since AFCON. With his experience he was able to adjust to the physicality of the game on the wings. On the other hand Bassey brought in a thorough sturdity. He became the bully. He impressed me with his little minute. Yes , bassey was faked and by the Ghanaian attacker later on. But all that has to do with adjustment of him into the game. Barring that moment where his opponent got him lost he was able to stand up to every thing thrown at him. Balogun is essentially a beast. He is super intelligent, he is built for this defense. At many times in the second half Ekong began to play erratic and this affected the balance between them. But overall Ekong can step up in the return leg as he can shake off his match rustiness with this first leg and get better in the return leg. Ekong was average. Uzoho is what a goalkeeper should feel like. I'm happy he kept another clean sheet. And this is his 9th for the national team. He got tested more than fine boy no pimples was tested throughout his 3 AFCON matches. For a goalkeeper that hasn't seen much game time at his club, uzoho was decent and commanding. Aina's match rustiness was obvious early on. Ekong had to constantly remind him and talk to him. As the game wore on and the Ghanaian started to take their feet off the gas pedal, Aina was able to discover his mojo and held his ground decently. I expect that he will give a better performance in the return leg. He seemed match rusty too. Aribo plays a shouldering role. Defensive and offensive wise. He is supporting when we attack behind Nacho. And he is supporting in the defense to stabilize Bonke. But as beautiful as he does this job I feel it has not given us the best of what we can have of him. Perhaps , I still hold him from his opening debut game and the game against Brazil. Rather than having Aribo play this role it will be a big gamble having Onyeka do this box to box job. As onyeka can be erratic while defending. Aribo gives the conservative stability for that role. But then I certainly hope that with Bonke injured there is the room for the necessary evil of finding a fix to the midfield in which Ndidi's absence was easily noticeable from the onset. |
Ppogbae:It's the African problem with patronage politics, cronyism, padi-padi. Obviously a poor decision by Samuel Eto and the result are yielding. Rigobert song's record with the B team of Cameroon is equally unimpressive and yet he is deemed fit for the first team. Perhaps Eto might be trying to replicate Nigeria's experiment with Eguavone or Senegal success with their former player turn coach too |
Danielnino00:I wished he never left Marseille for AC Milan. But the truth was he had conquered French league and established himself bigger than the team when he left. It was only necessary he dared for a new challenge. And that was it. |
Pot B teams are really struggling |
Mali way no play anything for AFCON. Even Tunisia way no play anything for AFCON still beat super eagles |
scanning through the Euro playoffs and two matches that look enjoyable so far are Italy vs Macedonia and Sweden vs Czech. Portugal vs turkey has been more tactical and cagey so far. Wales vs Austria is like watching komekn chamiponship teams |
do4luv14:Nigerian or Ghanaian time |
Africa's VAR seems wack to me. Especially at the last AFCON. The replay or playback always looked so brash. This one in Kumasi I hope it will not be facing the sun when the match starts that the referee will not see it clearly due to the reflection of sunlight |
abeg make una give us pictures , I hear say dem don land. How is the reception at kotoka airport Accra |
Gertyman:Russia economy has two challenges , locally the people in Russia are complaining about inflation. And that's central for Putin. Secondly much of Russia's foreign reserves is frozen as they cannot access the dollars in which they have saved them in foreign countries. Russia understands that it's not an import economy, where by it will need the dollars to buy foreign goods. Plus with the demand for Rouble inflation rate is bound to drop over time for its people |
MT:If you pay for an air flight with your card the payment is simply converted to the dollar rate and not because your CBN has dollar to pay them. If I'm buying from Amazon at the rate of one dollar. Then I expect roughly 500 Naira deduction using my debit card. |
PurpleHouse:No vex but if you get small retentive memory you just quoted me about telling him to cutoff from engaging you. And I still plead with you to develop some semblance of reasoning in the heat of your craziness to takedown that last post. It's the only reasonable thing you can do now. It's more rational than coming to apologize two day time about how upset you are. The ball is always in your court. Life treats everyone the same but we choose to react differently. I'm not telling you to calm down Do you but to involve another man's most troubled time he chose to share here for our simplest of condolences and make use of it to taunt him is the worst you could have done. I was laughing at every jargon you wrote about other people which didn't necessarily reflect their life. I felt it was okay but perhaps I was wrong to look away , I forgot how inhuman you are. Not all sins can be forgiven but asking for forgiveness later |
PurpleHouse:You see am now. I can't even blame you purplehouse I blame those who engage you. I blame myself in expectation of your abuse too. But this one is wrong pls take it down in Jesus name |
Andrew everyone has cut off from this guy. You sef stop engaging him. Na wetin na. Person use the past three pages dey read curse back and forth and you still dey engage am |
Maduka okoye out of Ghana clash sites illness as reasons. Hmm |
Nacho has greatly improved lately. His work rate and all round play has been impressive lately. The Nacho I've watched since socoring against Rennes hasn't scored in three subsequent games but his hold up play and link up play are much more better to watch lately. The goals will come sooner |
