murphyibiam15:
You are 100% correct....Ebonyi has by far the least dialect in Igbo states ....am from Ebonyi...u can see two LGAs in Ebonyi speaking same dialect eg is Ohaozara and Onicha LGA
Nxt is Afikpo-Edda-Amasiri-Uwanna-Apkoha-Enohia who speak an hear same "jokwa' dialects

Down to Ezza-izzi-ikwo who hear and speak same dialect

unlike in Enugu where same LGA like 'Udi' speak diferent dialect e.g Ngwo,UDI town, abor, egede, okpatu, eke all have different dialects

As for Anambra they have lost their dialects to central Igbo probably bc they have more trade involvement which involves using central igbo
I think Ivo and ohazara speak the same/similar dialect
Travel › Re: Honesty and Contentment: My Experience In Zimbabwe. by mabea: 6:31pm On Aug 18, 2020
Opexzy:
I have met honest people in Nigeria too, with even a more convincing test.

I was in computer village, ikeja Lagos state to fix my phone's screen that broke. It was on a Thursday and all shops were meant to be closed due to lockdown restrictions.
Just like you know, some of them will surely still be by the roadside to hustle for customers. I was there explaining to the technician that want to fix my phone, when a car pulled over and the driver stretched out his hand and handed over his phone, (an iPhone for that matter) to the same guy to help add screen protector and a silicone case.
He paid right there and told the guy he is in a hurry to pick up someone at the airport that he would collect it when he his returning. He dropped his contact card and didn't even bother to collect the guys contact before he drove off.

Everyone was surprised including the guy, because he has never met the man before and there was no traceable location because everywhere was locked.

I think it's better you thank your star that you met a good Zimbabwean.
Just like I use to pray to always encounter good Nigerians

Bad people are everywhere likewise good people.

MODIFIED:
To those asking me if the guy ever returned his phone.
When the guy was done, he called the man and he left us in his shop to wait for him by the road side.
I would not have narrated the story if I didn't know how it ended.

I am sure at one point in time we have all met at least one good and honest Nigerian.

Reading through people's comments and some of my mentions makes it look like I am the only Nigerian on this forum. Ask yourself what would you have done if you were the Zimbabwean, it is that simple. If you are not sure, then na your body the mess dey smell.

I can boldly say this, If I were the the Zimbabwean in the OP's story I would not have done it differently.
I love your post

Christianity Etc › Re: Can God Blame Me For Not Telling A Church Member What God Told Me As A Pastor? by mabea: 5:38pm On Aug 16, 2020
Kobojunkie:
Remember the church of God does not refer fo individuals who claim to be saved. The Church refers to all followers of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ did not tell us about the gift but He did provide examples of it's use. From God's specifications for His Prophets in His Old Covenant, it is safe to assume that in the New Covenant, it is also not for personal gratification, nor is it for the providing of individual oracles, nor fortune-telling(what many people now erroneously call prophecy).

In all the examples from Jesus Christ of the use of the gift, even in His use of it on telling the Samarian woman about her life, it was to the glory of His Church. In that particular case, by telling the Samarithan woman about her past, Jesus Christ message not only reached the woman but many in her town through her testimony of What He had told her of herself(note no fortune telling took place there).
You can't rule out the fact that prophecy is not just for the edification of an individual but for the body of Chrit even though some people today abuse it.

It says there that the prophet might try introduce you to another god. Of course that is an issue too, but so is the first act of the prophet.

According to God's design in Deuteronomy 18, His prophets were mediators between Himself and His people, and acted on behalf of the Nation of Israel, not individuals.
Let me ask you. Why did God give the gift of prophecy and other spiritual gifts? Is it for your personal edification or for the church?
Christianity Etc › Re: Can God Blame Me For Not Telling A Church Member What God Told Me As A Pastor? by mabea: 12:24pm On Aug 16, 2020
Kobojunkie:
Ezekiel 33 does not apply to you or anyone who is not a descendant of Jacob. Ezekiel's message was rightly to the nation of Israel, not to individuals. Only false prophets in the old covenant gave private oracles, fortune telling, dream interpretation and the lot. The punishment for such persons was death as decreed by God. Deuteronomy 13.

Those who are followers of Jesus Christ listen to the lead of the Spirit of God and the teachings of Jesus Christ.

If you read Acts 23, compare the actions of the prophets there to what God said in Deuteronomy 13 vs 1-6, to see what could have been if those prophets had been under the old covenant.
In that case why then are you a Christian if actually you're one? Remember Jesus came for the Jews

They should be thanking the present government.

People like you are the reason why Nigeria is where it is today. Your brains are always like: Igbo VS Yoruba. Tribalism is bad. No nation can grow with it but it's ironic how everybody wants a developed country yet no one actually wants it.

Keep deceiving yourself. The only crime Jonathan committed was that he appointed more Igbo people in key sectors than he did the Yorubas as well as taking the northern tenor. Also not being an opposition to some power hungry cabals.

And they just pushed this post to front page hurriedly.
This must be a paid advertisement.
My own advice is that we should not consider doctrines but read our Bible to ascertain if the doctrines of our denomination is in tandem with biblical principles.
True worshippers according to Jesus worship God in spirit and in truth. The spirit here means cultivating the fruitage of the spirit as outlined in Galatians 5:21 -23. The truth here has to do with abiding by the word of God as stated in the Bible.
Christianity is supposed to be a very simple religion. But people tend to complicate it with spurious doctrines as if each one trying to give their denomination a brand.
If I attend church A and you attend church B. There must be differences in doctrines, yet we all claim to be reading the same Bible. Is our God a God of division? Just like some worshippers in the first century were alligning with Paul and some with Appolos. Paul promptly rebuked them. Our God is one God.

Only Yoroubas talk about igbos loosing 3m in the war cos that was the last feat of their hero Awolowo but that was Our triumph..igbo land beat many likes Nigerian states that never witness the war .
