Safeguard The Word In Your Heart – Sunday May 29, 2011 – Pastor Chris Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life (Proverbs 4:23). In Mark chapter 4, Jesus tells us the parable of the sower: “…there went out a sower to sow: And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up…” While explaining the parable, He revealed that the seeds that fell by the wayside represented those who heard the Word and didn’t understand it; hence satan came immediately and stole the Word from their hearts (Mark 4:3-4, 14-15). The first time I read this portion of Scripture, I was amazed that satan could steal the Word of God. But then I realized that satan could steal it from those who don’t understand it. Also, many lose the Word in their heart through fear, which is a manipulative tool of the enemy. Never give room to fear in your heart, for fear chokes the Word. Rather, through faith, receive the engrafted Word of God into your spirit and safeguard it therei Everything in life stems from the Word of God. God’s Word, which encapsulates prosperity, health, success and victory is in your heart, and the devil is bent on stealing it from you. Therefore, you’re to mount guard over your heart and safeguard the Word in your spirit. The way to do this is through prayer and meditation. Meditation drives the Word deep into your spirit, causing your understanding to be broadened and as such the Word you’ve received stays. Prayer, on the other hand, concretizes it! Through prayer your spirit is positioned and conditioned rightly to receive and retain God’s Word. So, when you hear the Word, as you’ve done even now, don’t neglect to drive it deep into your heart by meditation, and then concretize it with prayer! Otherwise, you could be creating an inroad for the enemy to steal it from you. Never let that happen. Prayer Heavenly Father, thank you for granting me the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you, and for enlightening the eyes of my understanding to know your will and walk in your ways! I declare that your Word takes root in my spirit today, bringing forth the fruits of what it talks about it, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Further Study Psalm 119:98-99 Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Wisdom Positions You In The Place Of Opportunity – Friday May 27, 2011 – Pastor Anita I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all (Ecclesiastes 9:11). Sometimes in a sporting tournament, we find the athletes or club sides touted to win or set a new record loose out to the underdog. Often times, favourites and more skilled teams fall by the wayside in football tournaments. This same scenario plays out in other games too, and in the game of life itself, showing that there’s more to life than training to be the best. There’s more to life than being the “most qualified or smartest” person around. The Living Bible renders our opening scripture thus: “the swiftest person does not always win the race, nor the strongest man the battle, and that wise men are often poor, and skillful men the battle, and that wise men are often poor, and skillful men are not necessarily famous; but it is all by chance, by happening to be at the right place at the right time” (Ecclesiastes 9:1 TLB). Here, the Scriptures reveal the importance of being positioned in the place of opportunity; it’s a positioning by grace, where you’re in the right place, in God’s time! It’s a place where things work out for you without you having to struggle. As you function in the wisdom of God, you’re positioned in His place of opportunity where you’re propelled to do the right thing, at the right time, in God’s way. And thanks be unto God, Christ has been made unto you wisdom from God (1 Corinthians 1:30); so you don’t lack wisdom. The wisdom of God in you will guide and lead you in the path of God’s destiny for your life. So declare always that divine wisdom is functioning in you, and thus you’re positioned in the place of opportunity at all times. Confession I’m rightly positioned today, in God’s place of opportunity for me. Wisdom guides me and moves me from within to take the right steps that are consistent with God’s purpose and calling for my life. I will never lose my way. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (Philippians 4: ![]() God’s Word has the ability to produce in you and for you what it talks about. Therefore, when you think on the Word; when you inundate your thought processes with the Word of God, ideas and pictures of success, possibilities and victories will brew in your mind. This is the reason you must consciously have Word-based thoughts at all times. Jesus said in John 6:63: “…the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life.” Thus you’d have to meditate on the Word for it to produce life in you. Remember, you’re the character of your thoughts, so when your thoughts are consistent with the provisions of God’s Word, your life will be a reflection of what God has said concerning you. The Word is God’s an agent of transformation: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:2). When you continually flood your spirit with the Word, the thoughts that emanate from you will be quality thoughts – the high thoughts of God that the ordinary mind cannot fathom. Each time your inner man receives the Word, God’s thoughts begin to bombard your mind, thereby propelling His opinions and ideas to well up inside you. Proverbs 23:7 says as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. So if you’re going to live an unending life of victory and success, your thoughts must be in sync with God’s Word. Those thoughts must be pictures of the mind created by the Word of God. Pastor Chris teaches on the power of thoughts; they have constructive and destructive potentials. So if you’d let the Word which is quick, powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12), dominate your thought processes, then nothing will be too difficult for you. You’ll walk in victory, success and dominion all through as your actions will be guided by the Spirit, producing for you Word-based results. Word-based thoughts produce Word-based actions, which in turn produce Word-based results |

At times, we should just study the scriptures for ourselves 1Th 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. (KJV) |
eyzhvntsn:This is simple english now the first reason of the existence of the church is preaching the gospel and soul winning while helps and the others comes later like a secondary reason |
