Properties › Do You Consider Letting A Good Form Of Investment? by macanakii(op): 12:25am On Jun 05, 2023 |
I am considering starting this type of investment in the next couple of months. I have been thinking about this particular one because I want an investment that will give me a lot of free time for some personal things. However based on my research so far and my calculation, the estimated return doesn't seem to commensurate the estimated capital. Are there ways to get the best out of one's capital in this type of investment? Thanks

Hello everyone, I have a brother that's trying to study in Germany but we are confused about the visa part.
Considering it currently takes more than a year to get a visa appointment, how are we supposed to proceed ? Should we try and get an admission first, then defer it until we are able to secure a visa? Or is it possible to apply for visa already while searching/applying to schools? |
Travel › Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by macanakii: 11:26am On Oct 26, 2022 |
fkj950ax: The Embassy doesn't receive invitation letters. Your relative (brother) - what exactly is he to you? - inviting you to the US will not be the primary reason for approving your application. You have to convince the embassy YOU want to visit the US and YOU will return to Nigeria after your visit. The embassy wants you to change its opinion because you have the resources to pay your bills (or support from others); you have strong ties (family, career, business, social equity) that will drive you to return to Nigeria.
You have to (1) fill an application form, (2) pay the visa fees (3) book an interview using the numbers from 1 & 2 where you meet a consular officer who will interview you. If you have an invitation letter, you may go to the interview with it, but chances of the letter being asked for is about 5%. And also note that there are no available interview dates until 2024. Hi @fkj950ax / anyone that might have an answer for me. Does this 2024 thing apply to all types of visas? I am going to be invited by the company I work for (a US based company) for an offsite, is this an exemption? By the way, I saw this and I am not sure which case is mine, the first or the last?

As many people have said, it's modern slavery. Most of the proprietors are wicked and greedy. If you have your way to change your career path, please try and do that unless you're so passionate about it. I used to be a private school and I didn't like what I was becoming, I had to change my path through rigorous learning and a lot of sacrifice.
Back to you question. I would prefer a small school that will give me time for other things, to a big school where I won't have time for myself. It's usually like that in big schools. Self development is very important, and you need to have time for that |

Whatever situation you're passing through is just a matter of time. If you believe this, you won't think of commiting suicide. And you think your situation is the worst?? It's not! You will always be in the middle. If you think very well, you will see a reason to say Alhamdulillah. |

showafrica: This work of a thing is over rated. Ask her how is her take home, you will hear 45k or highest 80k. Less than 200$ in the name of i dont want to be a house wife. My brothers, hustle oo, make them no use ur pikin gamble. Marry a house wife... Who is ready to take care of ur children during the first 6 yrs of marriage at least and open a side business for her. After nursing all your children, she can then look for a work of her choice and work for fun. Why should I marry someone who is always rushing out every morning and coming back late, taking orders from one idiot as boss? It doesn't make sense to me. I rather keep numerous baby mamas I like this, minus the baby mamas part. |

I don't know why Nigerian companies are so wicked. I was given 4-months as paternity leave, it's the same period for women in my company. I had to just go back to work after about 6/7 weeks when I was already tired of it.
A company that cannot give you at least 4 months maternity leave, is not worth working for. |

rolams: I love computer and I want to go beyond microsoft word. That sounds good. I honestly usually find it difficult to advise what a beginner should start with, maybe because of my rough start. But you should definitely start with whatever you find interesting and enjoyable... something that doesn't feel like stress to you. But how do you know without even trying? That's where the problem lies. I scratched the surface of so many languages/areas before settling for one... I did HTML and CSS, then after that I started jumping between Javascript, PHP, Python and Java. I found both JS and Python more interesting, and Python even more interesting. I remember I could do most Andela algorithm questions easily with Python, but then I was thinking of projects I could build and use to show off my skills but I found it difficult to come up with something meaningful. I tried Tkinter, Kivy and Django, but they didn't really make sense to me. I had to go back to JavaScript, and then I came across FreeCodeCamp and that was where things started to make sense. I shared that little epistle maybe you will learn one or two things from it. So try and do some Google search, spend a few days on anything that seems interesting to you, if it bores you try something else. I believe you will find your way before you try 4/5 things. Do reach out if you need more help. |

airsaylongcome: You just mentioned some not so long ago vets!. I remember having a run-in with with dhtml18 or DanieltheGeek under my real moniker. Good days when remote work never "spoil" Nigerian techs. But there was (and there still is) too much bragging You're right bro. I guess it's the bragging that made it interesting for me. Always amazed at those guys' confidence with their tech skills, and I just wanted to be like them. Dhtml would be like "talk is cheap, show us some code". Yeah I agree, nothing like remote work back then, or maybe very minimal if there was any. The common remote work would be through companies like Andela. Many developers have been seeing lately joined solely because of money, and when you check very well, the quality is not always there. |

Do u think if it was not of concern she would sick for help in an puplic forum? I'm not sure u re married, but when u do, only then you'll understand the impact of sex in marriage.
Just so u don't know, sex life in marriage contributes 70% to 80% of successful marriages u are seeing today because it goes beyond bond.
So shut up and learn.! Smiles... I did not come to NL to argue, and there's no need to explain to you whether I'm married or not. So I will shut up as you've said. Just one request from you, Can you pls link me to the publication of the research you did that gave you the 70-80% you mentioned ? |

Court for 20yrs, if you will buy market, you will still buy it. Sex is not the only problem people encounter in marriages |

Nairaland came to the rescue when I was jobless and almost became useless to myself.
I started from the NYSC section, had interesting conversations, that kept me busy. I later moved to the Job section after nysc, discovered a thread about a trainee position, got in and eventually built my career from there.
So NL has done a lot in my life, providing me with necessary information at the right time. I don't have much time to come here anymore though as I am usually very busy these days. |

Choilila: I’m in love with a wonderful woman and we have been together for over a year. We started living together a few months ago and my six-year-old son also lives with us. It wasn’t until we started living together that I found out how bad her financial situation is. On payday, she is left with nothing because she has to service debit orders. This means I have to pay for everything, including food, her cosmetics, rent and electricity. The worst part is that I even have to send maintenance money to my baby mama to avoid drama. I love this woman, but she is just terrible with money. It doesn’t help that she is uneducated so she probably won’t be able to find a better job soon. Is love enough to live with a broke man? I know she will never afford lobola for me, let alone a wedding. - WORRIED PARTNER Can you set her up? I mean establish a business for her. |
