Mobile11:The governors need to create the enabling atmosphere before expecting Igbos to move substantial portion of their investment home |
cumbak60:These are steps to be taken only to pressure the FG to agree to a referendum |
Decodedp:why do you keep worrying about the Nigeria Constitution When Yerima of Zamfara imposed Sharia Law, was that contained in the constitution? When Tinubu create 10 additional Local Government area , did he have the constituted powers to do it ? As long as there is a will, a bit of Authority and the people behind you .. forget the rest |
NtoAkwaIbom:I do not quite agree, because in as much as igbos identify as igbos, they are a collection of Clans, with many clans more related to Ibibio efik than Ika etc. I really dont think Igbos are that tribal. In FUTO, by my last check, many years ago, the University have produced more Akwa IBom SUG President that IGBO, despite Igbos dominating in the school. |
IPOB becoming a political party or becoming involved in politics will mean the end of them. IPOB'S legitimacy comes from people seeing it as a freedom fighting organisation. Once they let themselves be stained by Nigerian politics, that legitimacy is gone and they will become another PDP or APC that cannot be trusted. Kanu has been very wise to keep IPOB out of the muddy waters of Nigerian politics. Its a necessary evil. They could set up an Affiliate party. A political arm of the struggle. IPOB needs that structure and recognition. As it is, NK is IPOB and IPOB is NK, if he was for whatever reason not available the IPOB struggle dies, or goes into hybernation. That was evident when he was locked up. The radio station died. Hence why IPOB needs a political wing. |
If everybody remembers, it took just one 'sit at home' protest for Northern youths to support Biafra and ask the Igbos to go. This tells me that if IPOB piles enough pressure with boycotts (elections or otherwise), peaceful protest, mobilisation etc, a time will come when the political establishment of Nigeria will all come together and decide to give Biafrans a referendum. Unlike normal elections where voters vote for multiple candidates, referendums usually ask a single question which people vote YES or No to. Anyone planning to rig that hasnt been born yet.Arewa youth have no political authority, they can say what they want, they dont wedge power and are easily controlled and shepherd by their leaders. Just you know, come the oct 1st these Allakubar terrorist up North could kill igbos and burn igbo businesses in the North and nothing will happen. We will turn around and blame those Igbos for going to the North. We can protest as much as we want. Write to UN and everybody. Firstly, Federal government and Hausa leaders will deny any involvement and "vow " to bring to account the perpetuators- but we all know how it ends , dont we? What then can we do ? - Probably chase away or at stretch kill some hausas in the east, boycott and threaten heaven and earth. Still, IPOB having no Executive Authority can't do much. IPOB need Executive powers which they can only realistically get from winning the state elections. However, if they had executive powers and such killings were to happen: 1, They could impose levies on "non-state" vehicles entering the region 2. Impose steep fine for Muslims in the region- this could be counter-productive though as the other regions could easily retaliate. but heyhoh.. that what IPOB should want. If other regions retaliate- the igbos in those state might finally begin to feel uncomfortable and might just begin to repatriate their business and investment to Biafra. As well as begin to homogenise the country into regions. And create the anxiety in the country and for the governement as Sharia introduction by zamfara state did. 3. If IPOB have states under them, they could ban non-Biafran youth coppers in the states. same as above point to create a disunity and heat up the politics. 4. SET up Biafran Football League. and to run concurrent to NFA league. ( part of identity and nation building) 5. Have resources or better structure to organise and build monuments for Biafrans, the war, fallen heros in the struggle. 6. Ban Nigerian Military and police from the states- that could be done under relocation of the barracks. - organise a fire on the building and force a relocation. relocated them to a forest at the outskirt of town. 7. We might not want war- but we need a well equiped Israeli- trained "local vigilantee force" able to shoot and carry out reconnaissance deep into enemy territory. A force able to defend our new Biafra Mega farms from Fulani Heardmen and other sabouteurs. 8. Force National service operating in the states to have a regional office- the 5 Local telecoms. 9. Ban all Non-biafran affiliated banks- GTB !!!- if you cant ban them- organise successions of theft and burning of their offices to chase them out of the states. 10. Ban Dangote truck and services. 11. If FREEDOM PARTY ( Ipob political Arm) wins overwhelming in Rivers state. then the screwing can be a lot sweeter. BAN ALL NON BIAFRAN FROM THE OIL FIELDS and OIL JOBS within the region- YES INCLUDING YORuBAS . We then sit back and wait for Lagos to retaliate. |
Etogist:As long as the civil disobedience is not distrupting the flow of money to Government. Affect the commercial nerve of Nigeria - lagos or sit of power -Abuja, or distrupting the oil operations in Port harcourt, the Federal governement can afford to ignore the IPOB struggle for eternity. Would a prolong Civil disobedience of the North East Nigeria- a region double the size of Biafra affect the government ? Why then would IPOB's affect the country ? How long would it be before other Igbos not symphatetic to the struggle start an internal war with those in support. If there is no progress soon Nnamdi Kanu's aura would start to fade. The struggle would turn to MASSOB's. Becomes monotonous and flatter. |
modik:And you think mere demonstration and civil disobedience in a part of the country without, unfortunately, any significant National strategic importance will worry the Federal Government? |
9jabull:Have you heard of Catalonia ? Do you know how long they have been campaigning for separation ? Have you heard of Scotland? Do you know how long they have been campaigning for separation ? Have you heard of Kurds, do you know how long they have been campaigning for a Separate homeland? despite the chemical bombs used on them by Saddam, despite ISIS atrocity on them, they are still far from achieving it. I dont know why IPOB think by mere demostrations and civil disobedience they can achieve anything. Nigeria will never let the oil fields of Bright of Biafra go without a fight. However we dont have to fight. If IPOB can win elections in the Biafran states, they can then form a de facto- Autonomous region. will have a good footing to negotiate on behalf of the region. Can i ask you a question? what is the size of IPOD biggest rally ? Lets say 1 million? 2, 3? i will give you 4 million. even at 4million it is only a minute fraction of the total population of the region they portray to represent. IPOB need more legitimacy which only Election can offer them. Ojukwu was able to command and declare Biafra becos he had the authority of Eastern regional Assembly. What Authority does IPOB have ? Mob action. |
Nigeria has 2 options 1) Restructure along the path of Switzerland model 2) Disintegrate along the path of East Timor Time will prove that Igbos will get any of these two through prayers, civil protests, sit at homes, boycotts, etc as prescribed by United Nations Those ethnic groups that oppose us will live to regret for eternality their opposition to our desire. Our God will fight for us because we have presented our complains to Him Remove God from the struggle first, It only makes you complacent and live in a fool's paradise. Have you heard of Catalonia ? Do you know how long they have been campaigning for separation ? Have you heard of Scotland? Do you know how long they have been campaigning for separation ? Have you heard of Kurds, do you know how long they have been campaigning for a Separate homeland? despite the chemical bombs used on them by Saddam, despite ISIS atrocity on them, they are still far from achieving it. I dont know why IPOB think by mere demostrations and civil disobedience they can achieve anything. As long as the oil wells are flowing, government is making their money , THEY WILL NOT CARE!!! PARALYSE THE SOUTHEAST AND ALL OF SOUTHSOUTH, ADD THE MIDDLE BELT FOR EFFECT. AS LONG AS LAGOS , ABUJA, PORTHARCOURTH- - OIL OPERATIONS ARE NOT AFFECTED, FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WON'T CARE!!! ask yourself, Big chunk of the NorthEast - bigger than the proposed Biafra- has been paralyzed for years now, due to Boko Haram, in what way has it affected the rest of the country ? did many of us even notice ? The little attention and goodwill IPOB is enjoying currently from FG is becos Osinbanjo is actively trying to shoreup support and legitimacy for his presidency. |
nku5:IPOB doesnt need Federal law makers as such. The essense of the IPOB Federal law makers will be to embarrass the government, keep the Biafra discussion alive and ongoing with every opportunity they get. As well as to lobby other proposed Biafra stake holders from unfreed Biafran state within the zoo to align with the cause for Freedom. Wha'ts most important is the Executives in the Biafran states |
Warship:As long as he doesnt want to fight a war with Nigeria he will still need The Zoo to grant him a referendum for starts. |
Jonathan39:If IPOB was to have a party and participate in the election . with the expected mass grassroot support they will guard and protect their votes. As they did for rochas against incumbent PDP. with the current widespread appeal of IPOB undoubtedly there will be sympatisers within the recruited INEC officials who will ensure elections are not rigged. |
Agumbankembu:2019 will still be rigged and dont forget if IPOB dont start showing meaningful progress on the cause in time people will get get tired of the boycotts and demonstrations. Remember MASSOB |
attackgat:IPOB can not say they represent All of the territories the want for their biafra without a sort of factual electoral success. like Scottish National party did As catolonia is doing. Even if the FG were to give you a referendum as it is they will rig it. IPOB need to built the institution first. Get access to state machnism of media and structure to propagate her information. All the need is one state to state from. without the state mechanism , they can aggitate and demonstrate as long as they want. They federal government that is very irrational will ignore them forever. |
dudebuck:No matter how successful the boycott is, the FG and INEC will announce an inflated figure of turnout. people on ground may witness no vote no election but FG will still announce inflated figures of at least 50%. What will you then do? Challenge them in their "zoo" court? |
one thing i will add is; IPOB needs to form a political party . Election will be a good way to gauge their appeal |
very good points. |
Boycotting the election will only show how powerful Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB has become, it wont necessary force the FG to negotiate with him. Boycotting the election will possible give the incumbent an avenue to award massive votes to himself, with hausa led INEC - aiding and Abetting to prevent the embarrassment of the low turnout from the IPOB boycott. |
kettykin:The Yorubas and Hausas can NEVER agree to it. why shoud they? If you were in their shoes you probably won't agree to it. The restructuring won't favour them. especially the North. And they have the votes to stop it. what do you think they will do? |
sean1000x:Im not Yoruba |
First i must appreciate the new vigor Nnamdi Kanu has injected into the conscience of Nigerians in general about the way forward for the country. Restructuring Separation into fractions. As an Igbo man, and a pan African, i am not a strong supporter of Nnamdi Kanu and his aggitation. But when i see the way Lagos state and Abuja drains the resources of this country it annoys me to no end. Why does a trader in Aba have to import his shoe gum through lagos seaport, then cargo it 700km to Aba to use on his shoes. then having to cargo the finished product same 700 kilometers to lagos to export. Every business man will tell you it makes no economic sense. His profit margin is eroded greatly from the internal cargoing. At some point his patriotism to his state will run out and he moves his little business to lagos to save on the huge expenses incurred from internal cargoing plus bad road etc. Aba losses becomes Lagos gain. Similar is replicated across most businesses. Innocent motors will probably make a higher returns if his business was set up in lagos axis (including neighbouring Ogun state) Seaport is a gigantic costly project , not one to be easily built by a state. Hence why it is imperative that the FG put effort to build one on the Eastern coast. But they won't. They want that reliance on the rest of the country- west. Currently the planned Railway by this present administration has completely sidelined the southeast zone again, meaning this zone will for the foreseeable future be disadvantaged. The shoe manufacturer in Aba will for a long time have to rely on the states with the rail access to cargo his products to the National Seaport located in Lagos for export. How long will he endure the stress and additional cost incurred before he moves to the nearby state with the rail? or even lagos? Only to be abused by the yorubas he is running away from mud soil, erosion ravaged evil forest? The current situation favours the Yoruba man, with Lagos being in Yoruba land. proximity spreads the development to other nearby states. evident is the increase IGR of ogun state. That Aba manufacturer would probably end up in Ogun state- with ogun state having cheaper land and close enough to The national seaport in Lagos. Nnewi has lost the motor spare parts and electronics business to Lagos-that's tradefair complex, Idumota, Alaba international, Aspanda,. Thats over a million direct and indirect jobs - imagine the taxes? the ripple effects it would have had on Nnewi? from resturant, hotels, taxi, Housing... everythings would have been touched. As recent as 30 years ago these business were all firmly in Nnewi. Lagos traders went to Nnewi to buy motor spare parts. My uncles in Gabon, Congo, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea flew to Nnewi every wednesday through Portharcourt airport to buy spare parts. Now all those are history. ... It pains me to keep narrating our losses due to these unfair share of national infrastructure. And with the current adminstrator these marginization its not going to end anytime soon, rather it will be increased, with his 97%- 5%. And even if a Yoruba was to become next president, he will get pressured by his people not to build the necessary infrastructure in the east, as the status quo favours the Yoruba states with proximity to lagos. Probably why OBJ is canvassing for the assassination of Nnamdi kanu- Many Yorubas want the status quo firmly. The East had an opportunity with GEJ, but that was thrown away, primarily becos of the man GEJ was. Had no backbone , no vision. A president for 6 years and he couldnt construct the most important road for the South-south region - East-west road. He awarded the building of Egina FPSO build project to samsung group with a condition that it was assembled in Bayelsa - right under his slumber eyes - the yoruba led group that won it -(local content) switched the location to lagos. He stood and watch Sambo push out Nnaji -one of the few performing ministers under his administration. He sack Avaition woman- who was actively renovation over 6 airports same time- she didnt embezzle money, she misappropriated funds- bought official bullet proof car- which she shouldnt. That being a reason to sack an otherwise performing minister in a country where Pension fund is stolen by one person and he walks about freely. Oil block- national sovereignty is stolen and own by one person. One person gets 16% commission on taxes generated from the weathiest state. Just you know- after she was sacked- those 6 airports she was renovating stopped. not an inch of plaster, lick of paint have touched those airports since she was made to resign or sacked. This goes to tell you the kind of person GEJ was. A big disappointment to most people in the East- including Bayelsans. ( people still voted him at the election as there was no alternative) Hence for the East, especially the Igbos and also the Southsouth people who dont have any pipeline security contract, the odds and their future and children future is so bleak. when next will an Eastern (SE/SS) person become a president? By the way GEJ was sheer luck. when will such luck repeat itself again? Mathematically it will be difficult for an Igbo man to rule this country- Rochas keep deceiving yourself. The North has 19 states plus FTC, they will naturally oppose an Igbo man- who will undoubtedly nationalize the oil well for a start. They dont want that cos they own the oil wells. Then the Yorubas- why would they vote an Igbo man as a president? A man who would built a seaport in Port harcourt, Akwaibom. Mandate the oil companies to move to their states of operations. Complete Enugu and Portharcourt airport and make it actively functional international airports. These actions will cripple lagos- the yorubas would rather elect an illiterate aboki man than elect an igbo man who has the pedegree to move the nation forward- cos moving the nation forward in an igbo man's eyes is balancing the spread of national infrastructure. The current Lagos focussed allocation of national infrastructure develops Lagos and the nearby yoruba states. The odds are firmly against the Igbos. Hence why i think Separation is the only alternative for the Igbos. Better with our brothers and neighbours around us. However, if they would rather not join us, the Igbos should still pursue a separation with the igbos in rivers, delta, Benue and Kogi, and Edo. The unnegotiable issue we must insist on, is the access to sea through igbo communities in Rivers state. without this, the new country will be at the mercy of Rest of Nigeria. That we must strive to avoid. HOW DO WE ACHIEVE A SEPARATE COUNTRY? BIAFRA? I think Nnamdi kanu has done the big step which is create and raise the awareness, but he and the IPOBs need to think inward now. No matter how many demonstrations they carry out No matter how many election boycott he succeeds in No matter how many other countries support he gains Rest of Nigeria will not give him a referendum, if it was given will be rigged, surprisingly with the same Igbos. Money talks, firstly. And the support for Biafra is not absolutely. My own estimate there are a good 30% who are scared of uncertainty or heartedly will favour to remain in Nigeria. Hence they ONLY way will be through the ballot. restrategise the IPOB into regional party- like the SNP- Scottish National Party. Have achieving Biafra as a prime point in the manifesto. When the party wins elections in the states of interests that will be a good gauge of support. how much support. When a state is won, IPOB will have the state's apparatus and machineries to start a Biafran nation building while under Nigeria. Designating/planning / building for mass housing for the expected influx of returnees into the new Nation- Biafra. Securing food production for the new nation.- setting up massive farms - feed stock and live stock. Use the Fulani herdsmen menace as an opportunity to create 10,000 cattle farm that can feed a nation. Build four. Use the state media infrastructures to relay the IPOB message and get more people prepared for the eventual referendum. Lets not waste the opportunity of the upcoming Anambra election. IPOB should take over a party- there are hundreds of dead parties they can take over- Apply for a name change to something more relevant to the struggle like Freedom party, Independence party, Liberty, etc And start the campaign and mobilization. Biafran can be achieved without a gun shot or unnecessary death from demonstration. |
A si, agbara rakata nshi , agwa ya osisi echeri pia ya. ( sorry for my igbo ) |
eagleeye2:Who is the church ? who built the dioceses ? The church is the people, if they people for whatever reason reject a priest then so be it ? the pope should respect the people, or they will leave the church for him and his pedophile cohorts . the people built the church, did a penny of the pope and rome go into the building of the church? If the pope doesnt carry the people along , then maybe he should go built his own church and appoint who so ever he wants as bishop in the church. |
eagleeye2:... how come they Onitsha main market and all the markets in Anambra closed down on May 30th, just curious ? was it an Anambra man that gave the order ? |
eagleeye2:Imo has many more priests than Anambra, almost double , yet Anambra has5/6 of the bishops position in the south east. Firstly, its wrong to say its Anambra fault, majority of Anambras are Anglicans, the problem is the Devilish Cardinal Arinze, he is being nepotic , using his connect to push his brothers, not just brothers, but soley brother from SAME onitsha dioeses . This is no Anambra vs Imo fight. when ojukwu challenged why Gowon was made head of state, when he is not the most senoir, the most educated , the most in anything, simply becos someone favoured him. Let the selection team give us the criteria for this selection. The selected Bishop is a young man, there are other bishops who are far older, wiser, being in service longer etc criteria for selection. He next bishop could be another Anambra but not from this same Onitsha Dioceses. let him come from Nnewi or wherever, most catholics now believe Cardinal Arinze is manipulating the selection process. That's my 2 bits |
UNITED States of America’s most celebrated brand, Apple, has bought Nigeria’s Chinedu Echeruo’s HopStop.com. According to The Wall Street Journal’s publication, AllThingsDigital, it informed that though the term of the deal has not been disclosed officially, but HopStop has been compared to Israel’s Waze, which was recently acquired by Google for $1 billion. Founded in 2005, HopStop.com makes mobile applications for both iOS and Android that covers over 300 cities and that helps people get directions or find nearby subway stations and bus stops. Echeruo, formerly an analyst at investment banks and hedge funds, who founded HopStop, is now chairman of the Board for the app firm. The move, according to market intelligence, is seen as Apple’s plan to bolster its map offering especially given Google’s recent acquisition of Waze. A serial entrepreneur, Echeruo, grew up in Eastern Nigeria and attended Kings College, Lagos. He attended Syracuse University and the Harvard Business School in the United States and founded HopStop.com after working for several years in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Leveraged Finance groups of J.P Morgan Chase where he was involved in a broad range of M&A, financing and private equity transactions. He also worked at AM Investment Partners, a $500 million volatility-driven convertible bond arbitrage hedge fund. He founded and raised nearly $8 million for his two U.S. based Internet companies: Hopstop.com and Tripology.com. Tripology.com was acquired in 2010 by American travel and navigation information company, Rand McNally. True to form, Echeruo is working on yet another venture but this time, focused on small businesses in Africa. According to him, “there is no reason why every entrepreneur should have to reinvent the wheel every single time in all the countries in Africa. My idea is to essentially have one place where a budding entrepreneur can access a template for starting a business, and then customise it to suit their own situation; essentially, a business-in-a-box. Amarabae:I need to arm myself with this well written piece of history. Thank you Miss. |
JANK23H:Here is one of your links https://bonnykingdom.com.ng/history/ The journey to found Grand Bonny Kingdom was commenced by the three brothers (direct-blood descendants) of Ebeni, Opuamakuba, Alagbariye [Kala-beni] and Asimini. These three brothers of the migrated by land route from their Isedani Lineage of Kolokuma of ancestral Ijawland, in present-day Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, to the Eastern Niger Delta area of Rivers State. They left their Isedani Lineage of Kolokuma and migrated through several mainland areas to Ndoki, where they met some of their blood relatives among whom was the Crown Prince of Ndoki, Ndoli-Okpara, who joined them in their further migration to found Bonny Kingdom. Its obvious, at some point everybody migrated. Some freely, some in chains, some as slaves. The owners of whatever kingdom, are the current permanent residents/ Indigenes. |
JANK23H:Whether they are descendants of slave or not, that's now their land. Everybody migrated at some point. GABON, LIBERIA and EQUATORIAL G, are all descendants of slaves. so becos they are decendents of slaves means its nolonger their land ? using your argument, does that now mean Jamaicans dont own their land in Jamaica since most of jamaicans are descendants of slaves ?? Answer me please |
Biafra should be a coalition of the willing, The Igbos of out the 5 core states should be given a refenradum if they want to join Biafra. Yes . Biafra moves on. In ten years time, Biafra would have become a very powerful force both militarily and financially it can then by subversion pull-in her brothers and close allies; esp Ogoja, Igboid in Rivers: Ikwere, Etch. the 9 igbo speaking and culturally LGA in rovers, Bonny, & LGA in delta, @ in Edo and 2 in Kogi, 4 in Benue. People arguing about Igbos in River, Ikwere is not the only Igbo speaking in River, what of Etch and Egbema ? |
