Politics / Re: Rate/describe Jonathan's Reply To Obasanjo by MackDealer: 3:48pm On Dec 23, 2013 |
That popular saying that a government is a reflection of the people that puts it in place always holds true....going by most of the response here not sure why we all wonder why Nigeria won't progress...too many on here this is a OBJ vs GEJ issue....OBJ was corrupt therefore it's okay for GEJ to be corrupt also....people are not focusing on the issues....are the issues raise in Obj's letter true? And did Gej's response actually address those issues? I think that should be the focus of our discussion not who landed a blow better For Me, I think Obsanjo was a disaster as leader but GEJ is even worst....unless we want to lie to ourselves corruption is the no 1 issue in Nigeria...and as disastrous as OBJ's regime was no sane person can tell me GEJ has done better in the fight against corruption |
Islam for Muslims / Re: Can A Muslim Work In An Interest-seeking Bank by MackDealer: 5:31pm On Oct 11, 2013 |
tpia@: right, but I was made to understand that from an islamic perspective both are the same...if it's tagged a loan then you can't charge interest. I just think we should all understand the context...am sure there is a reason why the quoran does not what muslims to charge interest and I want to believe it's not just because the borrower might commit suicide if they can't pay the loan back. |

Islam for Muslims / Re: Can A Muslim Work In An Interest-seeking Bank by MackDealer: 11:58am On Oct 11, 2013 |
abusumaya: So again understand this not try to question ur faith or compare just want to know....so does the Quran highlight why I should not charge interest in a the dangote senerio? Because when I go through my bible it talk about not taking interest from the poor...but actually encourage charging interest in a business scenario. Maybe to other faith this could be wrong...but am a believe of a saying in the bible that my people perish for lack of knowledge so I always want to know why I should or should not do something? |
Islam for Muslims / Re: Can A Muslim Work In An Interest-seeking Bank by MackDealer: 11:22am On Oct 11, 2013 |
I am a Christian...so I just need some enlightenment here...when we say the Quran instructed us to stay away from usury, is there a context to this? And here is what I mean by this....if a widow comes to me for loan to feed her family vs dangote comes to me for a loan to build another cement factory....should I consider them both the same and just give the money without charging interest? |
Business / Re: NLNG Headquarter Relocates From Lagos To Port Harcourt by MackDealer: 1:27pm On Oct 02, 2011 |
So let me get this, NLNG a company formed in 1989 with about 400 employees in Lagos a city of 15million people is moving it's headquarters to PH and all of a sudden the economy of Lagos will be crippled, am I missing something? If most people on Nairaland is what Nigeria has to offer, it will never develop, it's not a curse, it's a fact, everybody seems to just think out of their behind |
Politics / Re: The Role Of Churches In Nigerian Politics by MackDealer: 6:01pm On Jul 14, 2011 |
@obowunmi I have no issues with your question and I think it's a fair question to ask, my problem is this, take this thread for example https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-713435.0.html I can assure you if that thread were to be comparing Pastors with some other group it will make the front page. |
Politics / Re: The Role Of Churches In Nigerian Politics by MackDealer: 2:41am On Jul 14, 2011 |
I don't comment much on this site but I noticed on a daily basis there is something on the frontpage that attacks Christianity, Is this just because Christians in Nigeria are that bad? Is it because other religions are better and holier? Is it just because topics about Christianity draws a lot participation or is just down right bias on the part of the moderators? |
Business / Re: Share Your Story - Have You Made Money From Nigerian Crude Oil by MackDealer: 11:20am On Nov 15, 2010 |
K2: K2, am also inthe US and have a genuine buyer, the deal am working on presently the POP has been the roadblock, so if your seller can provide all you've listed lets get together offline to see if we can work something out. My email is in my profile. |
Business / Re: Share Your Story - Have You Made Money From Nigerian Crude Oil by MackDealer: 12:23pm On Nov 14, 2010 |
ok guys, am a little new to this and I belong to the school of thought that anything crude oil is 419 but that change a few months a ago when a trusted friend introduced to a geniue buyer thats represents a refinery in the US who I have been working with for a couple of months now but most sellers out of Nigeria are complete frauds. So my question for any experienced person here that have represented a seller before is this, What is an acceptable procedure for CIF, at what stage should an SPA be signed? I have this seller that seems to be ok but am about to walk away from the deal because they keep pushing for SPA to be signed before we can move forward yet they have not provided anything remotely close to POP, my simple analogy is though oil seems to be a seller's market but if you are going to ask someone for $300m you should be able to provide some proof of what you want to sell. |

Religion / Re: The Biblical Meaning Of Tithe by MackDealer: 5:58pm On Aug 23, 2010 |
kokoye: You are right forums like this is the right place to ask your kinda question and also the front page thing no vex me was just a honest observation(just like your question), the meat of my post was tithe(if you are a christian) is a personal thing, everybody should decide on what works for them. Somebody just posted he does not pay it and God still bless him why try to convince that person otherwise, and for those who pay and God also bless them why try to convince them to stop. |
Religion / Re: The Biblical Meaning Of Tithe by MackDealer: 3:47pm On Aug 23, 2010 |
ogajim: Ogajim, no vex I don't mean to abuse anyone, I just think as christians we should be carefully at what is happening around us, also am not a techy, I don't know what makes front page is automated my guess is that someone decides what topics make front page if thats not the case then I stand corrected. But if you frequent NL don't you think this issue of tithe needs to be put to rest and let people just do what works for them? |
Religion / Re: The Biblical Meaning Of Tithe by MackDealer: 1:11pm On Aug 23, 2010 |
This title thing again!!!!!!!! First some controversy loving, non christian administrator thought this over flogged topic should be on the front page. Dumb Christians who can't see beyond their nose takes the bate and continue to bash each other. Guys why don't you all think about this seriously, there is already many threads about this issue of tithes on NL so why do any admin think kokoye's new thread needs to be on the front page, simple all the non Christians love to see you guys make a fool of yourselves. This whole tithe thing is very simple, if you give your tithe faithfully regardless of how or where you pay it to and it works for you or at least you believe it works for you then please continue to do it and for those who don't tithe and have not seen any side effects to it then continue not to. I mean for how long will you guys continue this am right you are wrong thing, Faith is a personal thing but all I see here are people who thinks people who don't believe what I believe are fools!!!! The tithemongers wants everybody to believe if you don't pay the devourer will come into your finances, the tithephobia wants everybody to believe tithe payers are mugus Guys y'all should give it a rest and let people do whatever works for them, shikena!!!! |

Religion / Re: What Is The Difference Between General Overseers And The Pope? by MackDealer: 4:34pm On Aug 03, 2010 |
I really don't know the criteria used by the admins to place topics on the front page, as wonderful as NL is, I see this trend of putting controversial topics(especially about religion and mostly something that pitch christians against one another) on the front page and maybe it's just me but I really don't see how a lot of these topics are beneficial. Admins, I think NL should be a site to promote unity not more divide than we already have in Nigeria while I understand you can't or should not control topics people post on here I think you should do your own bit by not helping to but focus on controversial topics like this one, what can people possible gain by trying to compare the Pope to GOs except to try and prove which is Godly and which is not. It's just best to leave some topics in their respective sections. Seun and other admins you guys are doing a wonderful job with this site but please try as much as possible to review topics you put on the front page to make sure they align with what you want this site to represent |
Religion / Re: Is Rccg And Pastor Adeboye Obliged To Return Akingbola Looted Offering? by MackDealer: 4:03pm On Jul 27, 2010 |
Tudór: Tudor! Tudor!! Tudor!!! - You just have to be right abi, you know what I will let you decide on what is stupid on not, since you are too intelligent to understand my comments. |
Religion / Re: Is Rccg And Pastor Adeboye Obliged To Return Akingbola Looted Offering? by MackDealer: 2:08pm On Jul 27, 2010 |
Tudór: Madam Tudor, I know you really like people to think you are smart and thats ok, but I think you should take a little bit of time to read through and understand the reason behind a comment before throwing around words like stupid. So let me explain the reason for my comments to you maybe this time you will get it. I asked a question if there is anybody in this forum who has lost money (deposit of any type not money you invested in shares) in Intercontinental and have not been able to collect, somebody now responded that he invested money in 2006 that is worth way less than that today and I was pointing out that his investment thing was not just because of Akingbola stealing money but a market wide thing, AIICO, AP, Mobil, Chervon stocks are all down significantly so is this because Akingbola and Ibru stole money or maybe it's also because all these CEOs were making bad decisions too like you suggested? And it's so funny how you simply can not make your point without calling people names and yet you are the Mrs Perfect thats is always quick to condemn others. |
Religion / Re: Is Rccg And Pastor Adeboye Obliged To Return Akingbola Looted Offering? by MackDealer: 12:37am On Jul 27, 2010 |
Tudór: lord Tudor, Ms Smarty pants, maybe if you can see beyond your nose and think a little b4 you start responding you might be able to make sensible comments. Go back and read the reason for my comment. |
Religion / Re: Is Rccg And Pastor Adeboye Obliged To Return Akingbola Looted Offering? by MackDealer: 8:24pm On Jul 26, 2010 |
Gidtruth: I invested 500k in companies like AIICO, CILEASING and the money is now worth about 100K, I guess Akingbola stole that too and part of that 400K I lost must have been donated to RCCG abi? |
Religion / Re: Is Rccg And Pastor Adeboye Obliged To Return Akingbola Looted Offering? by MackDealer: 2:03pm On Jul 23, 2010 |
debosky, You about the only reasonable person on this thread in my opnion, for people like dayokanu and Tudor this thread is not about Akingbola being a thief, there main focus is RCCG and in hence Adeboye. Tudor supports her points with quotes from a bible she does not believe in, she knows what God wants and what he doesn't want yet she says that same God does not exist. Dayokanu just have a personal thing agains RCCG So I think it's just a complete waste of time trying to argure with these guys. |
Religion / Re: Is Rccg And Pastor Adeboye Obliged To Return Akingbola Looted Offering? by MackDealer: 7:09pm On Jul 22, 2010 |
Can I ask a rather silly question here, Do we have anybody on this forum who has money deposited at Intercontinetal and Oceanic and have not been able to get their money out? I keep hearing this Akingbola and Ibru stole people's deposit, do we have anyone here who have not been able to get their money out of these banks? |
Religion / Re: Is Rccg And Pastor Adeboye Obliged To Return Akingbola Looted Offering? by MackDealer: 1:22pm On Jul 22, 2010 |
You know it's so funny how Akingbola is the culprit but RCCG and Pastor Adeboye are the guilty parties here, and also funny how Dayokanu, Tudor and their cohorts seems so comfortable quoting hearsay as if they are facts(lying) and yet they are very quick to condenm others. You know the bible in Matt 7:3 have a good answer to most of you guys 3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. |

Celebrities / Re: Meet The Four Richest Nigerian Pastors. by MackDealer: 4:27pm On Jul 17, 2010 |
I thought you are the advocate of intelligent conversation? Why is it you have to resort to name calling or always have some words to discribe people before you can make your point. You are preaching to the choir here, you don't need to start a church but if you really want do something about these con men you refer to, this forum is not the right place because I can tell you the gullible christians you are trying to preach to are not here on forum. So if you really want to make a difference go to streets of lagos and other cities in nigeria. Also before you label people don't you think you should have more facts to back up your claim? So because Oyedepo has a gulfstream and his congregation is living in porverty(according to you and your cohorts) that makes him a con artist right? |
Celebrities / Re: Meet The Four Richest Nigerian Pastors. by MackDealer: 3:43pm On Jul 17, 2010 |
@Tudor I never said I wanted to help anybody, you the holier than thou that the needy have contacted to save them from con men called pastors hence my advise for you to start your own movement to help them. Put your name out there rather than hide behind a stupid id called Tudor. Since you are smarter than most of the gullible christians in Nigeria that is been conned by these pastors please be bold enough to do something thangible about it under your own real name where the real audience that actually needs the education will get it from, not in a forum made up of 80% of people who don't even live in Nigeria |
Celebrities / Re: Meet The Four Richest Nigerian Pastors. by MackDealer: 2:33pm On Jul 17, 2010 |
@Tudor, I have asked you twice now, what efforts have you made or making to educate Nigerians? What have you done to better the life of anybody around you? Again it's easy for some of you to hide behind a simple user name in a forum and call people you don't even know all sorts of names. If you are as smart as you are trying to show on this forum why not go form your own movement to educate people. The irony I see in this thread is that most of the people that tries to sound smart and actually the dumbest including crptic and the other guy trying to defend these men. Again it's simple if you don't like what is going on in the church in Nigeria DO SOMETHING THANGIBLE ABOUT IT OR JUST SHUT THE HELL UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Celebrities / Re: Meet The Four Richest Nigerian Pastors. by MackDealer: 2:03pm On Jul 16, 2010 |
@Tudor and company, since you guys are this smart, what are you doing about educating the gullible christians in Nigeria? Look it's one thing to hide behind your computer and blow out air it's another to actually do something about it. Tudor, I know you sound like someone who do not believe in God, so what have you done to actually educate other people whatever it is you believe in besides sitting behind one faceless user id on NL I don't agree with a lot of things men of God that I know personally does and it boils down to if it's something I can't change I find another church to attend simple. A lot of us on here are very quick to judge these people despite the fact that all we know about them is what we read or hear in the news, I was one of the people who thought Pastor Adeboye don't need a jet even if he can afford one which I later found out the said jet was not his and not even the church's Look again this is simple, all the men of God mentioned in this article trive because people go to their churches, if you guys ranting on this thread believes they are all phoneys then start your own real ministry and preach the truth. simple as ABC |
Celebrities / Re: Meet The Four Richest Nigerian Pastors. by MackDealer: 8:45pm On Jul 15, 2010 |
To all those who think Pastors in Nigeria are rogues and christianity is for the dumb, this is thing is very simple form your own type of religion/way of life or whatever you might want to call it to teach people what you believe and while at it you should be able to attend to the needy in Nigeria and you know what I can assure you you will get followers. Infact Tudor already has followers because of this tread. We don't need to fight about this!!!!! |
Celebrities / Re: Meet The Four Richest Nigerian Pastors. by MackDealer: 2:01pm On Jul 15, 2010 |
Why are some people so quick to run their mouth anytime there is a topic about men of God. I believe in freedom of speech but I also believe in freedom of association, freedom of believe and I don't expect people to condenm me because of my believe, If I believe paying my title makes God bless me and it works for me why should that be anybody's problem. Tudor and her cohorts, I think ignorance is the keyword for you guys and I know people like you likes to take paracetamol for other peopl's headache. if you so much believe in the taking care of the needy why not just form your own church or a ministry for whatever it is you belive in so you can attend to the needy, i mean it's a free world. You know it's so easy for some of you people that have not achieve anything in life to hide behind the internet to say things about people who have actually done something. Faith is a personal thing, if you believe Oyedepo is fake don't go to his church, simple. if it's that simple and most of you are as smart as you want the gullible christians to believe then go form your own ministry to preach and do whatever you think is right and lets see how many followers you will get. |
