Dry powder is effective on any kind of fire while Co2 is more effective on electrical fire. Pls understand the sentence. Hence you are correct on the foam aspect. Foam type fire extinguisher is for highly inflammable liquid like petrol, diesel etc. Water type fire extinguisher is for combustible materials like wood, paper, cotton etc. But since the emergence of fire hydrant, people no longer use the water type fire extinguisher as such, since the fire hydrant can do the work of a water type fire extinguisher more effectively. There is more to fire and fire equipment people don't know. Am currently carrying out a research on fire incidences. In this research, i try to create a nexus between fire and criminality. Hence, most fire incidences you see are not natural as they are fabricated by people in other to commit crime such as arson, destroying vital documents as well evidences. There was one time when auditors were about to visit the benue state central bank and just a week to their arrival, the benue state central bank caught fire and some vital records and some documents got burnt. If proper investigation is been done on such incidence, you will see that such fire wasn't natural but rather engineered.

They didn't use the appropriate fire extinguisher. The fire extinguisher used for that fire is Co2 fire extinguisher which is more effective on electrical fire. They should have used a D.C.P (Dry Chemical Powder) fire extinguisher otherwise known as ABC as it covers all classes of fire. Hence, am not saying the Co2 fire extinguisher isn't effective, it is but more effective on electrical fire.
