Too many adults behaving like kids cos of elections. For una information the same massive crowd that followed Buhari was the same massive crowd that followed GEJ. I was in kano live and direct. Why can't we all stop this Jonathan and Buhari did this or that, and wait till February 14th to do the needful. Am getting really tired of TeamGEJ behaving like the minority and opposition, where as they are the majority and currently the largest party in the world of Africa (in Obasanjo voice). Meanwhile TeamBuhari leave GEJ alone and tell us what to expect from your goverment, if you are fortunate to get to Aso rock. Meanwhile my summation PDP=APC. If only the salary of the President can be reduced to 100k per month, Vice President 85k, Governors 70k, NASS members 60k etc. Lemme see who would kill himself to get there. People are rich not because the own companies but because they are politicians, stealing and embezzling our collective wealth and we are all here killing ourselves to support them. |
Guess op is the confused one here, because the message is very straight forward. HiV is just a virus, so being infected with the virus it's not the end of the world, but what kills is loneliness. The whole point is trying to encourage victims of virus to come out of their shell and live normal life. |
I thought you have sold this car? Is this another or the buyer didn't pay again? |
As far as am concern the only mistake PTBJ made was to offer the cash himself. Why are we behaving as if we don't know what transpires in the journalistic trade. It is very difficult to see a pen pusher that rejects a brown envelope. Pen pushers and brown envelopes go hand in hand or side by side. It depends on the beat you are in whether financial, sports, auto, politics, telecommunications etc etc. Some of these beats are usually more lucrative than others. Handling of brown envelopes are usually done by the press officers or corporate affairs, so am still at loss why Prophet even mentioned it. So fellow nairalanders don't act surprised and stop castigating the prophet. I wonder what axe the dude that leaked the press conference have to settle with him by doing that. If there is any journalist in this house, let him come forward to deny that brown envelopes are not a normal or daily occurrence. When I say journalist I mean correspondence those whom usually go out for assignment. But that doesn't mean am saying it's okay but truth be told it is where we have found the profession today. |
Hi Abujaniv, Thank you for your assistance here, but please I asked a question that I would really appreciate your opinion. I asked some days back s regarding your earlier post as indicated below : (abujaniv: Applicants are welcome to reapply 90 days or more after their last interview, but we encourage applicants to research the section of the law under which they were refused (most commonly 214(b)), and assess whether or not anything has significantly changed in their situation that would make them more qualified to receive a visa. As to your specific chances, we cannot and will not speculate as to anyone's chances to be issued a visa). My question is still same as indicated before- I recently appled for a visa for a group study visit but 16 of us were denied and only 2 granted a visa. The executive leadership program was slated for september and november. So we were advised by the facilitators to re-apply for the november edition since we weren't successful to join the september edition. But looking at your response above as par 90days stuff, is it advisable to re-apply again for the november edition or wait out out the 90days. Talking about the section 214(b) which you advised that we should research is as indicated below and didn't really or couldn't understand why I was refused. Is the 90days a standard that MUST be adhere to or just an advise? My job is still the same with an excellent end of month take home, am still married for more than 8years with 2 kids, CAN NEVER stay an extra day more than the 5 intending days for the training etc etc. |

As to your specific chances, we cannot and will not speculate as to anyone's chances to be issued a visa.Good day to you, I recently apply for a visa for a group study visit but 16 of us were denied and only 2 granted a visa. So Wats your assessment. One part of me is saying I forget the visa stuff for now but the facilitators are pushing for us to re-apply. What does a visa denial under INA section 214(b) mean? This law applies only to nonimmigrant visa categories. If you are refused a visa under section 214(b), it means that you: Did not sufficiently demonstrate to the consular officer that you qualify for the nonimmigrant visa category you applied for; and/or Did not overcome the presumption of immigrant intent, required by law, by sufficiently demonstrating that you have strong ties to your home country that will compel you to leave the United States at the end of your temporary stay. (H-1B and L visa applicants, along with their spouse and any minor children, are excluded from this requirement.) What are considered strong ties to my home country? Ties are the various aspects of your life that bind you to your home country. Strong ties vary from country to country, city to city, and person to person, but examples include: Your job; Your home; and/or Your relationships with family and friends. While conducting visa interviews, consular officers look at each application individually and consider the applicant's circumstances, travel plans, financial resources, and ties outside of the United States that will ensure the applicant’s departure after a temporary visit. Is a refusal under section 214(b) permanent? No. A refusal, or ineligibility, under section 214(b) is for that specific application, so once a case is closed, the consular section cannot take any further action. There is no appeal process. If you feel there is additional information that should be considered related to the visa decision, or there are significant changes in your circumstances since your last application, you may reapply for a visa. To reapply, you must complete a new application form, pay the application fee, and schedule an appointment for a new interview. Review the website of the U.S. Embassy or Consulate where you plan to reapply to learn about any reapplication procedures. |
At times am really ashamed at the level of childishness in nairaland, op asked a very simple question that demands simple answers but most of us are complicating it. At op, don't listen to all you read or hear in the media, lot of them media folks are just writing without basic facts. As par your visit it depends on how long you are staying and when? But visiting during the election period because you said next year 2015 is not advisable if you are in nigeria to have fun. But after the elections Abuja is recommended: the various parks, gardens, gurara falls is just like 30mins drive away, you can also see some of the surrounding mountains( if I would call them that). Calabar you can visit Obudu resort and spend close to 3 or 4 days it depends on your budget, it's an experience you can't forget. Lagos: there are just too many places to visit in Lagos especially on the island. The beaches, the cultural centers, conservation centers etc. Too numerous in Lagos, just check online. Being stuck in traffic in lagos is part of the fun. Am about stories that nigeria ain't safe, shit happens sometimes and it's like that all over the world. The north is battling with insurgency, the west crime rate and the east kidnappings but that doesn't mean people I mean foreigners (oyibo) don't live there. Lots of folks in nairaland do not even know the tourist attractions they have in their location or environment. If not for the security issue the north is the best place to visit. But definitely you can't have the mind to do that. But like I said stick to Abuja,Lagos and calabar and mind you these places are not cheap o. The cheapest room in obudu is like 25k (do your conversion of 167usd to one naira). In Abuja inside not outskirt good hotels goes for same rate too. But if you have a street smart relative your expenses would definitely be low if not ready to pay fire. As for the other kids here please grow up. |
@justwise I can see you are here pls your input would be highly appreciated. Thanks. |
@mofella and keni It was later I heard that 2 amongst us were successful and I don't know them that much to start asking for a transcript. But I was told one already had a visa for US and the other basically have travel experiences to SA,Dubai and maybe two other schengen countries. But amongst those refused some of us also had same travel experiences SA, Dubai and europe too. The truth of the matter was that during the interview it went very well, just normal questions and answer section. No unnecessary explanations or calls for clarifications. Infact I was so sure of having d visa only to be handed the blue slip and my passport. Meanwhile it was that elderly Chinese man (I often read here that he is very good at refusing applicants) that interviewed me. But he wasn't the one that refused the other applicants anyway. But I did mentioned that I have two passport that wasn't attached together and it was the other passport that have my travel history. The passport that was submitted had just a visit to a west African country and a schengen refusal in 2011. But in my application form I did stated all my travel history. Please Tze-tze am still waiting for your comment as regards the last question asked in my previous post. Is it advisable to re-apply in Abuja for the november edition of the course or just forget it for now and ask for a refund, because I really do not want to them to see me as one desperate for a visa because am really not. |
Thank you tzetze, your input is highly appreciated. But with respect to your reply my job is sales related/business development and the training is sales related, negotiations, leadership etc. It's an executive leadership program. Just like other short executive courses run by other business school in nigeria and all over the world. But anyway my main concern like I stated above, is it wise to re-apply again after 2 or 3 weeks as advised by the facilitators in Abuja embassy for the november edition, because all payments made by me viz course fee, airfare, accomodation, feeding etc etc are still with the facilitators or I should just ask for a refund and wait it out till another time sometimes in the future. My main headache is I don't want to be seem as being desperate and that is a ground for another refusal, because to be honest with you I don't understand how this US visa thingy works hence my throwing it to you tze-tze for your expert opinion. |
Thanks tze-tzefly. Yeah I was amongst those refused and the interview went very well in my own opinion anyways. Just normal questions like: Where are you going? I told him. Why are you going? I told him. What courses are you going for? I listed the courses. Have you ever being out of the country before? I answered yes both SA and Dubai.(although the passport I submitted had just a travel history an African country and a stamp of refusal by a schengen country way back in 2011) my other passport with my travel history of SA, Dubai and ghana was in my hands and he didn't asked to see it. Are you married? I answered yes about 8years ago. How many kids? I told him and also showed him my kids pix. How much is my salary? I told him the basic salary about 300k plus commissions and bonus making about 600k monthly. He didn't ask to see payslips or bank statement. Why was I refused by the schengen visa? I told him I had wanted to go for vacation with my wife in 2011 but they had had other opinion. Then he asked why the African country I visited in 2013? I told him that country was part of my sales territory and so I went there to see if my company could do business but found out that the place is not viable hence we had to drop the country. I think that's about all. To be honest I thought the interview went well and was expecting to be issued the visa. Only for my passport and a blue slip be handed over and the rest is history. So my question still remain since the date of training is september and november, is it advisable to re-apply because the facilitators suggested we do so at the Abuja consular office. Would it be interpreted as being desperate to re-apply after 2 or 3 weeks after refusal? The only reason am listening to them is because I don't want to be forward in asking for a refund of all payments made. As for the other 16 refused like they also stated theirs went well without much questions but they were refused. The refusal is like in two phases those married got blue slip while those unmarried got white slips. So tze-tzefly what's your assessment of this whole scenario? |
Please I need advice from the gurus in the house. We are a groups of about 18 people recently applied for an entry visa to the US to attend a short program. Only 2 of us were successful and d remaining 16 were denied. The fact is that the remaining 16 in my own opinion are very qualified as as they are responsible family men and women and have very comfortable jobs. The course is supposed to be in September and also in November. The first application was Done in Lagos but the groups intending applying again in Abuja. Do you guys think it would be an issue to apply in Abuja instead of Lagos where we first applied and moreover we intend re-applying in a space of two or three weeks from the date of earlier denial. Would the group be seen as desperate of its just a normal thing. I really do not understand how this US visa thingy works, because the course fees, flight, hotels, feedings etc have been fully paid and the Institute which is a popular business school equally send an IV letter to the embassy stating all these. But yet it was mass denial for the applicants which cuts across bankers, owners of flourishing business, highly placed executives in pharma coy, etc. So please tze-tze what's your opinion? |

ANY-PEN :You are the one that is the BLOCK HEAD (in capital letter). if not for our dysnfunctional educational and rampact illiteracy the message is very clear. That bill board like the poster before you said is just someone trying to be creative and that is exectly what is missing in your life. Dont our politicians spend more on items of less importance and how have they affected our lives positively. This is exactly why our country is in so deep a mess, because we like chaasing shadows instead of substance. If Pastor Chris has not affected your live then look for whoever has and appreciate that person when he is alive than eulogising them when they die. Afterall GEJ,IBB,Inyanya,2face,Dbanj etc are all there and if they have changed your live positively, why not erect a massive billboard for them and leave those that pastor chris have to appreciate him. |
Hope you no dey watch ur Tv upside down o na the president of their olympic committee dem kidnap o |
of the accredited 600,000 voters ACN garnered a total of 431,536 over PDP 125,437 thus winning 16 of the 17 local goverment areas. I want to say a big thumb up to the vigilant electorate, INEC and the security operatives. Also to Mr President too and Governor Oshiomole hope you can now stop bitching and get to work. |
Congrat to Oshiomole and good governance! DailyPost Nigeria @DailyPostNgrhttps://twitter.com/DailyPostNgr/status/224393973412790273 |
Can anyone confirm a this just saw it on my twitter that he was assassinated with two of his aides today. |
Must it be for employment purpose? But anyway if you have the time and money but I don't think any importance is attached to it by employers of labour. |
Honestly I feel like crying just like the General for Nigeria. Is it that I can't comprehend simple english or everybody is just hypocritical just like PDP,Abati,Reno etal. No wonder Nigeria is really in a deep shyte today if lots of us could respond in this manner. The way PDP is running this country do we need a soothsayer to tell us the country is at its brink? Are we not so tired of everything that if not for the cowardly strains in our blood we would have all stood up to demand for a change either violently or peacefully? Does the general need to drum up any war story before one know one is inpending except God intervened. If everybody could come out and castigate Buhari for this statement then Nigerians do not deserve any better. Nobody prays for war,I for one certainly do not wish for even civil unrest because like every cowardly Nigeria and good christian I believe one day e go better. But the way the politicians are running the country is making war inevitable. |
Am so so sick and tired of people saying goverment didn't do this or that! For Christ sake there are over 160million people in Nigeria amd you would be amaze at the talents of some folks, but lot of them died with this natural talents. Yekini was lucky he had talents and God took him to the height of his career, is it too much for him save money or impact the lives of others favourably that would have been there for him? When he had so much money how many people did he sent to school, how many did he assist in startin a trade, how many seeds or tree did he plant that he would have rested under their shade. That should be the question we should be asking and not whather goverment or NFF abandoned him or not. In my own opinion this question is very irrelevant. |
Infact this morning attack was something else, machine guns rattling away and explosions from bombs. I have been up since 4:30am when I belive it started. Please anybody with adequate details should not hesitate to post it here o. This town don tire person o. |
I saw on someone facebook page that he would be out in 2years time that is 2014. Is that the situation? |
Na wah so many folks looking for avenue to bash Pastor Chris and Pastor Chris played right into their hands (not that he cared anyway) .to be quoted out of content was the same reason Pastor Chris didn't really gave an answer during the last Q and A section about the the folk from pakistan or so asking if he doesn't want to disvorce his wife despite the fact that she cheats on him viz adultery. People tend to classify stuff as sin as a result of their side effect wen abused. If so then I guess Salt, sugar, meat, egg etc are also sin because thhey are detrimental to our health when abused. What about cough medicine that is taken as a cheap intoxicant in the north, so anybody that genuinely has cough and took cough medicine has altomatically committed sin because someone somewhere is abusing its usage? Comon guys we should draw a line between dirty habits and what is considered as a sin before God. Like someone said so because its not sinful to eat pounded yam so you would start swallowing big balls of pounded in the church of infront of your boss in the office when it is not a party? That's where decency comes to bear. To laugh is not a sin but please when next you are outside start laughing uncontrollablly and confronted by people just respond that laughing is not a sin. Or better still try defeacating in full glare of the public or did the bible day passing out of feaces is a SIN? |
Abeg thank u jare no mind those two olodos when dey spew wetin person no sabi.Like I said I wonder why Nigerians always like focussing on the negative? |
