Please can someone explain what's happening with groupon? Groupon, Inc. (NASDAQ: GRPN) ("Groupon" or the "Company" announced today that the Company’s board of directors has approved a reverse stock split of the Company’s common stock at a ratio of 1-for-20, following approval of the reverse stock split by the Company’s stockholders at the Annual Meeting of Stockholders held on June 9, 2020.The reverse stock split will become effective at 5:00 p.m. Eastern time on June 10, 2020. yes you're right......definitely not a rocket science......just need research time and staying informed.................... I'm glad i took the risk YerYer: |
OakPearl:Thanks for the advise brother.......i'm watching closely 3 eyes |
saydfact:Thanks you're the best...ahahah |
Just an update to this thread and a big thank you to @saydfact for the wonderful estimation So from your estimate, I realized it will cost around #3M - 3.5M for the 10 courses.... then I decided to kickstart it with #1M and see how far they will go with that as I'm not in the country at the moment.... So the job has been done and they were able to deliver 4 courses...this include #70k for digging and a few other settlements here and there....totalling around #50k....I believe another #1M will deliver 5 if not 6 courses as foundation wont be involved anymore. Its single gated.....wider than a regular one,as we want to keep enough entrance for trucks when construction begins Take note the person in charge is using direct labour and cutting the cost as he's experienced in this field. @Saydfact, Do u think he had delivered enough with the first #1M? Because our estimation was 3k blocks but not sure if this is upto that. Thanks for your time brother Cheers

I have to throw my hat for the men here.....you guys are the real deal @ @oakpearl, Yeryer and many others...unfortunately many youth come on this forum just to abuse and gossip.....why some are making real cash .... The word stock alone scares me....but this thread build my confident....been following quietly for some time now, although with my other moniker.... I usually invest in real estate, mutual funds and ETF... After following this thread for nearly a month, I decided to do some trial and error.. learning from my mistakes with my hard cash... But so far , in 3 weeks, I have turned $15k into $21k.....some days are red but the land is mostly green. I think this thread will be my new tv ahahah.....it feels so good to watch ur money grow like grass.... I use Yahoo finance, fool.com and investors place for guidance and information......I dont know much but I always read their conversations instead of boring myself with too much. Thank u guys |
Hi fellows, Please how can I investigate a land properly before making payments.... The land in question is within an estate in Ota....specifically Ado-Odo local government...the land seems genuine but my suspicions arose when I noticed theres no major project going on..... Please is there any legal or professional way to verify.. Thanks in advance |
EgunMogaji2:great. .yea since its temporary, I'm gonna go with one big gate for now, then maybe another one in future....yea its eye popping.....not a tiny project Thanks for your comment bro. |
Ifie2000:what state are u? I'm not sure he's around anymore....he's just a friend |
saydfact:I dont think it's under government acquisition because the person in charge knows a alot about land and he's my dad. I dont even know the address....I'm not around at the moment....but you've been very helpful brotherly.... You're the best |
saydfact:Yes I will, but my confusion now is that, after going through a few thread I realised I may have to do more documentation ....because the person in charge only got a family receipt from the owner of the land......now I'm wondering if it's better to get C of O and any necessary documents before Investing such amounts on fencing....I'm new to real estate....so pardon my ignorance. |
saydfact:Wow, thanks so much for this amazing job... You've done an excellent job breaking it into pieces...I really appreciate your time and effort...will print this out and archive it. I'm assuming this project will easily take between 3M - 3.5M from this breakdown. Once again thanks Best Regards |
saydfact:Ahahha fair enough......thanks so much for you time and please mention me when u do. |
saydfact:thanks I have just confirmed the dimension.....its the first one in your diagram and its 18x36. Thanks alot |

This is an amazing thread..... Pls can anyone help with a rough estimate for fencing a 6 plots of land close to Abeokuta Ogun state....I'm considering 10 coaches including foundation It's a flat and dry land. Estimation would include granite for any stone related job needed for the job if any. Also, which is advisable between single and double gated fencing, considering the size of the land. P.s I dont have any major plan for the land at the moment. But I want the fencing done asap after lockdown. Thanks in advance |
Most painful words said to me 11 years ago still echoes till today. It was in a JAMB tutorial class, my closest friend said to me in public "ko ri tajé shè" meaning " I was so destitute ". Then I only had 2 trousers and a few shirts to go through the week. But God listened and wiped my tears.....before the end of that year my story changed, he would beg for money whenever he visits. 11 yrs on, I've bought atleast 4 cars with my own money, and I've made millions while he's still worth less than 100k. I bet he's forgotten..... but I will never forget.... what he said didn't affect our friendship till today. Make peace with all men and Let God fight your battle . |
tropaz:ahahahhahahahahahhahahahhahahahhqhqhqhqh olooofooooo |
7thLemonLOVER:well, I don't think u were in a relationship with the guy as he never really asked u out.....it would have been a betrayal if he had left u to marry ur sister after you've established a relationship with him. |
worworbabe:Thanks .....already talked to him and I've zeroed my mind about him paying back .....but no more lavish support for family and projects on hold indefinitely....Jah bless everyone for your matured advice .... like the adage in yoruba... I go keep all ur words of wisdom for my left hand....make I no take am chop |
Gynn:thanks for that ... that stingy is the key word now.... |
ImaIma1:how I wish some of those parents could see how kids in Western countries don't give a f***k about their parents once they move out....also see how they dump them at the Nursing homes once they aged.... only then will they appreciate what they have. |
zmpp:thanks .....its all good |
Thanks for all the contributions......they're really helpful.... |
Please pardon the epistle, I'm a family guy who put my family first in all my decisions due to my upbringing and position in the family....my father single handedly provided and trained the 4 of us through school as my mum never had a job due to recurring illness......I moved overseas few years ago and settling down wasn't easy. But one thing my father kept telling me even before I got my first job was to invest back home.....after paying up all the loans I incurred from funding my travel, I saved hard and invested all my savings in a few plots of land running into millions. To secure the land I was advised to do the fencing just to mark my territory as Im not ready to develop it yet. I respect and love my immediate family so much that I can't go a week without talking or skyping them. Dad is a senior pastor in one of the Pentecostal churches that preaches holiness and righteousness which was the basis of my trusting him....but he completely betrayed my trust when I sent some money to commence the fencing.... P.s I've not been selfish to my family. I spent close to a million on gift and their welfare that same year...and even promised to get them a car as soon as I can afford it... Instead of commencing the project, he decided to spend the money on a car just because he couldn't wait. The worst part of it was that he warned my 3 younger siblings not to tell me about it until he's able to get back the money. Which they knew might never happen....But I got to know from an outsider after 6 months. Whenever I asked my dad about the project, his excuse had always been the rain stopping them from commencing, not knowing the money was gone. When I confronted my siblings, they confessed he had warned them not to tell me. Then I confronted my mom who later confessed and apologized....till today my father hasn't call to explain anything to me. Instead he chose to be mad at his wife for confessing to it and even raised his voice when I questioned him. Since that incident few months ago, the relationship between us has gone so cold and we barely talk anymore....he hardly call and I don't call him either....I had forgiven him but I can't forget. I'm so discouraged now that I don't see myself sending any more money in the nearest future. I don't even care about the land safety anymore...this is affecting me mentally, I wish to just let go but I can't....I feel taken advantage of by someone I trusted the most in this world. Please for those who had been in this situation before what would u advise.......I feel like the strong and priceless connection I had with my parent is gone due to one person's decision. |

AkataWoman:Really ![]() ?? |
Onyinyechiakata:Ok listen @Oyinyechiakata, I don’t know if u are the lady in question or not. But if u are, I will love to clear something for u and your lover. I don’t know u or your lover but I was once in his shoe. But now happily married to my partner for some years now. Firstly this is a faceless forum and I will advise you to be a little bit more respectful of people’s opinions, either ‘good’ or ‘bad’ , not take critics too seriously and also generally direct your anger towards your lover if u have to do so. People here don’t take side as u can see some have showed so much concern about you and even questioned his love for you. The question of if it’s ‘true’ or ‘not’ is between the two of you. When it comes to making life decisions, people generally have worries and concerns. Some deal with this all by themselves while some seek for public opinions. His concerns were more of money, life and migration. Ain’t saying this is right, but has bitter as this may sound, every intending migrant will ask about these three things before uprooting their own life for anyone. It’s not unusual for people in developed countries to quickly see themselves as the victims. So I will advise you stay calm for now. think about it this way. he knows you are not rich but you are doing everything you could to have a better future. Which is the best thing and I must commend you for that. In the course of this, you’ve incurred some personal debt and you still planning to have more. A potential partner is not wrong for having concerns about it. If anything, it shows he’s not planning to dump you so fast and he’s concerned that once you’re married, your problem becomes his. Which is generally true because you will end up sharing bills and other household expenses. And if u can’t afford a lot due to your repayment then he has to step up for you. Nigerians are not so exposed to living on debt as we do in developed countries and our orientation about debt is completely different. Nigerians grow up being told to stay away from debts and we have no government or institutions financial support. When I migrated myself, I will get mad at my partner for acquiring new loans or credit cards. I thought her about finances and how to live on a budget (not the easiest job anyway). But you know what? 2 years later I realised having debt is even a good thing for myself if I wanna go far in this countries. As long as they’re for the right reasons. My Orientation changed even though I was still very careful with my finances. All over the world, Nigerians are making history and working their ass off to have a better life. Your partner is planning to migrate and also work his ass off but he’s concerned if he would be responsible for your loan. That’s for you to know he’s inexperience about how things works out there. The same way your family is concerned about you falling in love with a scammer, he is also concerned about being used considering the news we’ve been told as African growing up that our men have been used and abused by foreign women just the same way some people around you think all Nigerians are scammers. I’m not encouraging you to continue or end your relationship, but just telling you’ve got heaps to learn about each other if you truely wanna be together. |
Without any legitimate job or business ?Shameless scammers |
Thanks but I’m not around at the moment so can’t Whatsapp..... a close family is in charge. Just tryna do a rough comparison. goldcorn: |
Please gurus in the house... I need help in calculating how many concrete blocks I will potentially need to have for a 5 coaches fence around my 1 acre of land. And also what the whole rough project estimate might be. And also current price of 6 inches block. Thanks P.s: Land is Ogun state |
