     MY ex bf was very upset when I told him I would  feel uneasy taking a gift of a car from him, he said my refusal hurt his feelings.

     Some men try to entice girls with money,if you try to refuse or side step there macho show they end up turning the tables on us.
     
     If a guy gives a girl a gift it should be given with a open mind and heart, it should not mean he's purchased her.

     I'am with @topup and the @Poster,  50 50  most times. I do not want to be forced to pay  the bill in kind at the end of the night.
