frankiekinase: A group under the umbrella of Coalition of Northern Groups, CNG has launched a Northern Nigeria security outfit known as "Operation Shege-Ka-Fasa".
PARADISE NEWS learnt that the security outfit which means "I dare you to attack or surrender" in Hausa is believed to be a Northern version of the South Western regional security initiative known as "Operation Amotekun" which is literally translated in Yoruba as 'Leopard'.
The spokesperson of the group, Abdullazeez Suleiman, while addressing newsmen on Wednesday said "the security outfit is the vanguard of northerners irrespective of ethnic and religious affiliation."
He added that, "In the prevailing circumstances, the only option is to resort to voluntary self-defence mechanisms in line with initiatives taken by other regions that are even least affected in comparison to what is obtained in the North."
Suleiman also said the CNG has resolved to formalise this request by writing to the governors through the Northern Governors Forum and to the leaderships of traditional, religious and cultural institutions in the region.
Recall that Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has disclosed that the South East Governors have completed plans to create a South Eastern security outfit code-named "Neighbourhood Watch".
