This man is a bush meat, the suit and tie you are putting on, are they made in Nigeria? Why not lead by example or Nigeria do now make suit! uote author=Dorischuks post=80167226]The Central Bank of Nigeria has warned Nigerians to restrain from defacing the Naira, describing such act as criminal and an affront on national pride.

According to the apex bank, the Naira, like the National flag remains a symbol of Nigeria’s nationhood and sovereignty, hence the need to respect and preserve it.

The bank disclosed this on Thursday in Osogbo, the Osun State capital during a programme tagged ” CBN Fair” with the theme : Promoting Financial and Economic Stability ” which was specifically organised to sanitise the residents on some of CBN policies and programmes.

Speaking at the event, the Director, Corporate Communications Department of the bank, Mr Isaac Okorafor, who was represented by the Assistant Director in the department, Mr Samuel Okogbue said spraying of notes, squeezing and writing on it constitute grievous offences that attract penalty in the face of law.

He, however, emphasised the need to develop the local manufacturing industries and create employment for the teeming youths, as he implored residents to be conscious of indigenous goods and be patriotic enough to patronise it.
“We cannot continue to patronise foreign goods and expect the economy to grow to the extent of accommodating our teeming unemployed youths; we must start making our indigenous goods a priority in our choice of demand”.

shogotermies:
Hello everyone.Am a guy in in early twenties,.
I wanted a better life for myself, without the help of anyone,.

So I collected a loan from a friend, he lent me a 100k to start the organic skincare business, two months ago.
Which we agreed on an interest of 13.5%, and had it on papers too.

So I was able to make production in two weeks,.
Fast forward.

So I was unable to pay the interest rate of 13.5%, so Iwas able to pay 10%, which is 10,000.

The guy got mad, he was really angry.
But due to d fact my skincare products is just still new, sales was just so poor.

Now I am to pay him, today for the interest unlucky for me I fell into the hands of some fraudsters, I lost my money. But the issue is, I can't pay the interest now, my business isn't showing any positivity. Am frustrated, I need advice on what next to do.

He is now sending me message and insults, thinking am doing this on purpose..

Please mind my grammar and punctuations
pls where do you base maybe if we can rub minds together and if possible, call me so we can talk over the phone

Business / Re: Did The ATM In Computer Village Scam Me? by Madu100t(m): 9:23pm On Jun 07, 2018
[Dear press on for i had similar issue twice, one was reversed but d other didnt, i went to my bank, i got same reply but i insist that they must querry d bank and refund me or i ll contact cbn, so my bank finally gave me 6 days that things ll be fix, five days latter, my money was returned quote author=Blazing99 post=68269653]On the 5th of June, 2018. I went to fix my phone in computer village. To pay for the phone parts, I went to the nearest ATM, at Stanbic IBTC Bank in Computer Village.

There were two ATMs, one outside facing the gate and the other by the side of the bank. While queuing on the one facing outside, a guy came to my front. I was about to tell him to join the queue but he told me that he wants N1000 notes and the ATM by the side is paying in N500 notes, that I should try there and it was free. The security man there also told me to try there.

As I was in a haste, I went to the ATM machine by the side, I tried to withdraw N10,000. The machine started taking like 5 minutes to dispense. After a while, it told me "My transaction has been completed". My card was discharged. As I was complaining, the security man told me not to worry, it would be reversed.

I had to borrow money from a friend to pay for the services. Once I got home I made a complaint via GTBank Internet Banking. The next day, I went to a GTBank nearby to make a compliant too. As at this evening, I got a response on my mail

I am now questioning, what the hell happened. The ploy for me to use that ATM seemed 90% like a setup. The ATM machine told me "Transaction completed" but did not pay my money. The security man immediately gave me hope in reversal. Now while trying to get a refund, I am being told that I was actually paid.

I am going to go on pushing GTBank so I can retrieve my money. But in the meanwhile, can someone with a similar experience or some knowledge tell me what is going on. Right here, I am feeling bloody scammed.

IN THE MEANWHILE, DO NOT USE THE STANBI IBTC ATM IN COMPUTER VILLAGE.
Health / Re: Speech Therapist In Owerri Needed For My Son by Madu100t(m): 6:55am On Mar 07, 2018
[My neighbour had similar issue with her son and this is his five years, i think he can speak well now. But what d hospital didnt tell u is the meaning of ok and if he is a late developer and possible cause. Thank you quote author=Callmemike post=65616888]I will try to be very brief. My son is some months shy of 4 years old. However he has not started talking. When he was almost 2 years we took him to FMC owerri for examination. The result said he was ok. Unsatisfied we went after some months. They referred us to the International Speech and Hearing Centre Enugu.

There the result was that his hearing is limited. They said we should come for a reevaluation when he is past 3 years to see if his hearing has improved or if he needs a hearing aid. But we were advised to enroll him into a school to increase his interactions. The problem with this then was his repeated bouts of illness after each two weeks in school. We tried homeschooling him for a term and half afterwards. This term we have enrolled him into a new, regular school and he has adapted just fine.

Between this period, we have visited other hospitals for evaluation and they said it is ok. That he is just a late developer.

We just went for a reevaluation and they said he does not need a hearing aid and that his hearing is very OK now. They recommended a professional speech therapist to help him pronounce words, since all he does is just babbles. He captures things fast and can act out a full cartoon movie.

So please if any info is available about a speech therapist in Owerri, it will be appreciated. Other advices are also welcome.

Mods, please help me push this to the front page. A child needs your help and i believe in your epatant care. Thank you

During the 2nd semester,a lecturer friend of mine I had been doing 'runs' with told me there's an elective course I should 'run' in order to grad and they'll use it to replace any other I fail, which I did at 25k per course(all final year courses).Only for me to hear from people later on that they weren't using that course to replace any.On calling him,he told me he din't tell me they were using the course to replace any.I felt bad and used but I still had faith.I sowed seeds and prayed like never before, telling God I can't be having a 2nd spilling year.I remember clearly when a woman made a prayer point in Church saying 'I shall not end this year in shame'.i prayed like I was about to die and sowed seeds to the prayer as well.i kept telling God that it was better I died than to go through what 2016 will offer me if I don't grad this year cos certainly,i will now have to tell my dad,who is already proudly telling people he now has 3 graduates at home.

Just last week, the results were released. You guessed it.My name was in the list of spillover students again,my final chance of being a graduate.

I seriously do not know how to go about it now cos i'm just confused. Its too big a burden for me to bear. Please I need the wise advises of my fellow nairalanders as  it will help me on what to do this coming year and above all, although i've practically given up on prayers,i still need your prayers as well.If you're looking for who to pray for in your 31st night prayer, please let it be me cos God might answer yours, even if He dint answer mine.

Politics / Re: Naira Rain As PDP Raises Billions For Jonathan. by Madu100t(m): 7:37am On Dec 21, 2014
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last night flexed its financial muscle ahead of next year’s polls as stakeholders poured in money for the prosecution of the elections.

Donors at the fund raising ceremony held in Abuja included the various sectors of the economy, PDP governors, businessmen/women and organizations.

A prominent business woman Bola Shagaya and her friends donated N5billion. An equal amount of N5billion came from friends of Professor Jerry Gana, chairman of the funds raising committee while the 21 PDP governors gave N1.05billion, while those who called themselves friends donated N3 billion.

Other high profile donors were construction sector with N310m, transport N1 billion, real estate N4b, the energy sector-N500million, PDP Rivers State stakeholders-N50million.

Others were food and agriculture N5b, Cifex N10m, power sector N500m , Shelter Development Limited N250m, Emzor N50m, the NDDC governing board N15m, auto sector N450m and PDP youth group N50m.

Present at the event were President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice President Namadi Sambo, Senate President David Mark, House of Representatives Deputy Speaker Emeka Ihedioha, PDP governors, Ministers, PDP National Chairman Adamu Muazu and the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the PDP, Chief Antony Anenih.

The ceremony was still in progress at press time. The huge donation according to the Electoral Act runs foul of the law. Section 221 of the 1999 Constitution prohibits a State Government from contributing to the election expenses of any candidate or aspirant.

The Electoral Act Section 91 (90 of the Code of conduct for Political Parties and Elections limits individual donations and contributions to a maximum of N1m.

Electoral Act, Section 91 of the Act criminalizes contravention of limitation on election expenses. A Presidential Candidate who knowingly contravenes it is liable to a maximum fine of N1, 000,000.00 or imprisonment for a period of12 months or both.

How can we progress as a nation wen one person is givn N5billion for just election even state treasury included

fijiano202: I believe this is more attributed to religion than reality cos in nigeria and the world itself culture and religion works hand in glove..Biblically the right hand is regarded as a sign of strength and honor and also sitting at the right hand side of someone means u are highly honoured..like the christains believes that Jesus sits at the right hand of God which makes him next to God,Although the bible never mentioned left handed people as lesser people but people still believe the right hand is more honored..left handed people are not much in the bible, the most popular left-handed person in the bible is Ehud Judges chapter 3 and also Judges 20:16...the bible refers to left hand as an advantage cos people with left hand are mostly warriors....the left means plenty things in diff language - in latin left means sinister which means evil ,in french left is gauche which means awkward...in Local /traditional belief Right hand is called hand of peace
this is awesome i must say, deep insight, need nothing more to learn frm this. Kudos

So unfortunate that we Igbos are yet to trace where we come frm, while others has done, who do we beliv? Are we nw frm Isreal, Egypt of Jews as always referd? Igbo orign is still a mystry to me.
ICHINONYE: [b] Jacob wrestled with one of the angels and the angel told Jacob that from now, you are Israel. So, Israel – the children of Jacob – were subjected to slavery and they prayed to God. God answered their prayer and then, there was an exodus.

They left Egypt and these children of Eri, Gad were part of the exodus. They arrived at a big sea and when Moses struck the water, the sea divided into two and they were able to pass through. Though, there was a calamity as the Pharaoh of Egypt at the time used his chariot to chase them so as to take them back. You know fully well that God did not allow Moses to enter the Promised Land.

When they came to River Jordan, that was where Moses handed the covenant over to Joshua. Now, the responsibility of guiding the Israelites was then on Joshua. That covenant placed in the River Jordan was very significant because God told Joshua to remove 12 stones from that river and those 12 stones represented the 12 tribes of Israel.

Now we are talking about the 12 tribes, we are talking about the tribe of Eri because Gad was the tribe that begat Eri. After suffering, some of them went back to Egypt and they were so tempted by the difficult position those Islamic Jihadists pulled on them.

The children of Eri refused to be converted to Islam and they ran away from Egypt to Nnubia and to other places. Each area they went, these jihadists kept on conquering the places. Nnubia was another parallel empire to Egypt as they had Nnubian Pharaohs and Egyptian Pharaohs that fought several wars. After the wars, Nnubia became extinct and later turned to the present Sudan nation.

That was the area where Eri and his devotees stayed and after the fall of Nnubia, they had to take off again and started moving down south, looking at a place where those jihadists won’t attack them. They became refugees and the children of Eri later arrived at a placed called Jutkom, southern part of Kaduna but presently in Taraba State.

Again, the jihadists visited them and conquered the place and they kept moving towards the Nile basin. They preferred moving on the river basin where they could always get food and water.

They later arrived at the first confluence of River Niger and Benue and wanted to see whether they could live there, but the jihadists came and conquered the place.

In their movement towards the southern side, they arrived at another confluence. This confluence was the tributary of River Niger and Benue known as ‘Ezu na Omambala’. When Eri and his devotees arrived at this place, dressed in Usman Dan fodio kind of regalia and were so tired, they tried to settle there.

Though this area was every small and there were no commercial activities there, they decided to stay there. But they did not settle at the front water because of their previous experiences of attacks. They moved five miles inside the region of the confluence and settled in the interior.

They were only four in number and they cleared a small space and started life there. They named the place Eriaka, meaning the home of Eri. Eri begat children there and assimilated the people living around despite their civilised exposure.

Already, the first question posed to Eri by the people living there was: “Who are you?” Actually, there was difficulty in language but when the question was thrown, Eri answered them, ‘We are Igbos’.
