There are people in all tribes who believe in this kind of evil madness. They should all be brought to justice. This just should not be going on in 2017! All these tribalistic comments about every topic are so simplistic and tedious. They are just used to detract from the suffering in most people's lives. There are a lot of Nigerians suffering, Yoruba, Itsekiri, Hausa, Efik, Ibibio, Ijaw, Urhobo, Igbo, Edo, you name it. They all have good and evil people. We sound less than smart when we attack each other based on tribe. We need to do better! |
Why is all this kind of crap always news? African men wear suits and all kinds of ridiculous oyinbo outfits, even in the scorching sun of Africa. I've never seen it make any of the papers, blogs etc in the USA or Europe. We'll be here, smiling and laughing like mumus as if it is something great. We have a long way to go! |
Can we leave tribe out of it, please! All tribes in Nigeria do good and evil. Everything shouldn't have to be about tribe. It doesn't matter what tribe she belongs to. If she is actually changing the expiration date, wrong is wrong. A close up of the changed expiration date would have been nice though. |

VARIOUS PLANTAIN DISHES IN THIS THREAD Stuffed Plantains: If you love dodo, boiled plantain, boli and are looking for another way to satisfy your plantain craving, try STUFFED plantains. You can basically stuff your plantain with whatever you like. In the picture below, I have bacon wrapped roasted plantain stuffed with spinach (efo) and topped with shrimp and crispy bacon. Delicious!!! Be creative and use your imagination - beans, rice and beans, beans and fish, suya, you name it. If you like it, you can try stuffing your plantains with it. Tip: slice off a little bit from the curve of the plantain, to give it a flat base so it can sit. More info about this dish on my IG: https://www.instagram.com/p/BVhUqq-hvUo/?taken-by=mainocooks

Spaghetti is healthier, so I'll go for that. Both can be equally satisfying and spaghetti only takes a few more minutes to prepare. |
These are the kinds of business stories I like hearing about. Not all these get rick quick schemes. A real, viable business. Wish you all the success in the world! |
Some of you take things so literally and believe everything you read. The track is by Jenifa, not Funke Akindele, which means it's part of the character and supposed to be funny! |
gift01:Wow! Some of these replies are amazing. It is the brand's responsibility to maintain a pest free environment (as long as the bread was purchased directly from them). Returning it is not a viable option and there is absolutely nothing wrong with posting it on social media. Social media has helped a lot of brands improve their service and standards. Any responsible brand will want to eradicate a rodent problem. Rats can give you a host of diseases, including Salmonella Poisoning & Leptospirosis (Weil's disease), which can both be fatal. When kids get sick or die "mysteriously", we'll be quick to point to someone in the village. My 4 yr old niece just died from one of the above. Thank you for sharing. Knowledge is power. |

Does anyone know if fresh cod (whole or fillet) is available in Lagos? If so, what is it called? Moving back to Naija soon and I want to make my own saltfish (which is salted cod). If not, is there haddock, pollack or South African hake? Or is saltfish itself available (also called bacalhau or bacalao) Been trying to research this and can't seem to find anything. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |
Yunisa001:What is it - as in what kind of animal? |
Senseless. That's a little too close to humans to eat. No more goats, cows, chicken and fish? |
The water in that river is so clear. I wonder which village it's in. ![]() |
A failed generation. Very sad. The nation has failed them, so it's not surprising so many think like this. |
Some will say it is jazz ![]() She didn't even have to eat, they could also have blown a powder in her face and she would have given them every penny. |

Tokziby:This is the problem we have in Nigerian marriages. Men treating their wives like kids. There is a HUGE difference between a woman and a little kid. If your wive acts like a little kid, then you married a girl and not a WOMAN. A husband is a spouse not a parent. If women are just like little kids, how come 9 times out of 10 they are the ones who raise the kids? I guess kids are raising kids now. Not sure where this logic comes from. If it is from personal experience, my apologies. You should have chosen a bit more wisely. Why choose someone who "will always test ur patience and act abnormally"? If it works for you, more power to you, but that sounds like a dysfunctional relationship, not a healthy relationship between two adults. A little more respect for women goes a long way. |
Na your behind? As long as the owner of the behind aka the bride is fine with it, who am I to judge? I'd rather see this than Nigerian couples that act as if they are not attracted to each other and sex is for procreation only. Wish them all the best in their marriage. Keep grabbing for years to come! |

Clearly an allergic reaction. Hope he is okay! |
It's his money, he is entitled to spend it on what he pleases. However, I would be more impressed if the money were spent at a Nigerian or African establishment. Black people all over the world need to learn that in order for our communities to grow and thrive, we must support our own businesses. $1 million on jewelry for his crew seems a bit excessive. I hope he has great investments and financial advisers. |
Only in Africa! |
This only applies to bisexual and straight/curious chicks. A true lesbian is and always will be a lesbian. She is not looking for mind-blowing sex from dudes. A man just doesn't do it for her. |
Depression is very REAL and shouldn't be made light of. There is a difference between feeling a little down and clinical depression. Depression can totally paralyze you. Kudos to her for bringing more awareness to mental illness. Never dismiss depression and suicidal thoughts in a loved one. Get them the help they need (professional, not just church or some pastor), love them and support them before it is too late. |
Nollywood in the church. It's all a marketing strategy. First of all, what kind of man of God prays for someone to go mad? That's not what Jesus would do. The problem with most Nigerian churches is that they are not Christ-like. Before we follow churches, pastors and religion blindly, we need to ask: what would Jesus do? That is if you claim to be a Christian. |
You just want him to smash. Lust not love! |
