I will appreciate if you expatiate or better still rationalize your statement: MAITEMA, you sound intelligent, but you sure have a very low self esteem ,  I demand clarification because as it stands your statement makes no sense under the context it was used. If you dont do as required I will conclude you have a low English comprehension ability and perhaps saw the statement somewhere and imagined you could use it here. More so if you have read my posts on this thread I originated, you would have seen my line of thought and understand that I do NOT hold that Mikel is the SOLE problem of Nigerian football but rather an integral part of it, and that the opposing posters started the personal attacks. chidichris called me a monkey etc. just because I aired my patriotic view on Nigerian football that I am a staunch fan of

@chidichris,
@maitema, if i get across to mr. ola at the embassy, who will i ask him of. i must know ur name to ask mr. ola about ur contributions. again forgive my bad english as i promise to improve with time.

May I have your name first? I promise to reciprocate the gesture

Maitema,
how come u did not wacth chelsea match as usual? did u watch nigeria against mozambique? someone said amodu played two defensive midfielders, is it true? if yes, who and who were involved? do u know that all the topics abt mikel have died down since yesterday because of his involvement in the chelsea match?

i come to terms that u are confussed in ur arguement. are u against mikel playing in the attacking midfield or playing at all? what is the statement about back passes? if mourinho, avant grant, scolari and hiddink all like mikel with his back passes including amodu, who are u to complain? by the way, u said everybody must not have the same calling, it is either u are called in drugs business or u are called in condeming others with ur mouth.

the last time u hosted galadimma and co, maybe soon u will host yar adua and obama afterwards.

mikel is the only nigerian in a very good club at the moment and a low life feels having access to internet is all life worth.

have u ever ask urself why the likes of etim cannot praise mikel when he does things rights? where are ur partners in this arguement? they have all disappeared in shame but u have proved how shameless u can be by this act of talking more.

i can see similarities between u and etim. such a man who was accused of stealling ordinary mobile phone among all other party attendants, wow! a normal person will ask himself why, stay away from the public for some time but what do we have here?

if i am mikel and martins, i will surely respond to etim atleast i will sk him to provide gthe nokia 3310 before he can slam me.

look at it this way, mikel snubs nigeria because of soar throat - did he? NO
mikel is going back to bench because essien is back - did he? No
mikel will ruin u - did he ruin chelsea? NO
Nokia 3310 slams mikel and martins but did their different clubs slam them? NO

when will good things come out of nigerians for men who have at least for once served this country honourably?
can u even compare the hatred nigerian show mikel to the ones they are showing to our politicians who have forced most of u into drugs and other vices?

like i said before, read through ur anti mikel posts and ask God for forgiveness becaue it is writen that those tongues that will rise against mikel in judgments shall be condemed. the decission is urs.
@ chidichris,
Why do I have to clarify elementary English for you every time? I said I DIDNT SEE THE CHELSEA GAME AS USUAL, by this sentence I mean that I do not usually watch Chelsea play. I could see a live Chelsea game when they play Arsenal, Liverpool or Man U or a Champions League quarter/semifinal/final match. Yesterday I was seeing the Arsenal Man City game!

If you are indeed interested in verifying the details of my contribution in hosting the Flying Eagles in 2005, you can contact the Nigerian Embassy in The Hague, Netherlands and ask for a Mr. Ola who will confirm to you if was the NFA or the Nigerian Community in The Netherlands that sponsored the farewell party for the Flying Eagles. Better still you can reach the then Ambassador designate Mrs. Lar.

The rest of your mumbo-jumbo does not deserve response as usual.

@ Romeo

What it has got to do with it is drive it into your light brain that I am doing well and have enough to contribute to host them including Mikel! since you assume that because Mikel is doing well financially, therefore I am not entitled to air my view!.

In your words; Mikel is good and earning his living and that of his family playing football. If you don't like it you can simply jump into the Lagoon and dine with mammy water. It's only a fool that will believe that the problems Nigerian football is undergoing is solely because of Mikel's inclusion in the team.

Furthermore, if I were to patronize cybercafes, would it be on a Sunday morning? DUNCE!

See you barking like a mongrel (local dog) named bingo. Next time you choose to display your mental mediocrity and and expose your idiocy, choose carefully where you do so.

This topic is NOT about Mikel earning a good living from his career and taking care of his family, I personally dont have a problem with that as I earn a VERY good living too! Everybody’s calling cannot be football. However, the last time I met Mikel in 2005 I contributed substantially for the hosting of the NFA delegation and the Flying Eagles team after the 2005 final in Utrecht, Holland. Ibrahim Galadinma (former NFA chairman), Rafiu Ladipo and Samson Siasia can confirm that.

@ FBS & Dotman
Good thing Mikel played 90mins. I didnt see the Chelsea game as usual. I am sure he played in his usual position which I dont have a problem with. My problem is that they play him in as Super Eagles attacking midfielder which is like putting a round peg in a square hole.

@ chidichris & FBS,
Regarding your question on a replacement for Mikel in the attacking midfield position for Super Eagles, as I have repeatedly said, albeit accepting that there isn’t a very good option, I opine that using Kanu or even Oruma and Obodo in that position is a better alternative to Mikel who slows the game and passes backwards.

You have jumped the gun and are commenting from a misinformed and biased perspective.

When you have time settle down and read this thread from the beginning and see the line of argument.

I have NOT singled out Mikel for the Maputo draw but beamed the searchlight on him because in his capacity as our playmaker we are entitled to expect a stroke of magic from him like you would naturally expect from a world-class playmaker.

I reiterate for emphasis sake that Mikel is too DOCILE to be the playmaker for Super Eagles, albeit conceding that there is no feasible alternative in the interim.

As for chidichris, you need to go back to school if he ever attended one in the first place. When you do, I strongly advice you to CONCENTRATE when English Comprehension and obviously Lexis & Structure is being taught!

@ azeezbaba & Dotman01

For the avoidance of doubt, find below my response to chidichris' question if I solely blame Mikel for the draw in Maputo.
His question: is this topic about mikel's inabilities or amodu's? did nigeria fail to do well in mozambique because mikel did not play well?
My answer: My topic focused on Mikel because under such an abysmal performance by the Super Eagles the onus normally is on the playmaker to produce one or two class-acts to win the game for the team. Mikel was out of sorts for a “Playmaker” and busy doing his defensive thing.

A Primary 3 pupil will discern that I do not COMPLETELY blame Mikel for Super Eagles' abysmal performance against Mozambique.

My problem is that each time I crystallize my point, chidichris comes up with another mumbo-jumbo

I accept you have chosen to adhere to your bigoted ideology and narrow mindedness. Your type dont acquire knowledge and I am certain of this having tutored wards at a stage. I give up on you!

F.Y.I, I am aware of the Lyn Oslo saga and referred to it ("court case"wink I am also aware of the brouhaha John Shittu came to cause in Rotterdam (Holland) between two local archrival clubs all in the name of managing (SELLING) Nigerian players. He sold to one club and then said no I meant to sell to the other club! This happened after Mikel’s Lyn-Man U-Chelsea debacle. If you are an authority in football as you claim you should have an inkling of what I am saying, the player and clubs in question. In any case, I strongly advice you not to bask in your self-acclaimed "authority in football" it is glaring you know nothing!

When next I run into Mikel if I do, I will notify him he has a "Voltron" you certainly deserve an award for defending him.
SportsRe: Mikel Obi Is Not A Super Eagle And Using Him Will Ruin Us by MAITEMA(op): 4:06pm On Apr 02, 2009
Well said deb.

In my opinion, Mikel's path to destruction started when for some strange reason/s he chose Chelsea over Man U after “allegedly” signing a contract for Man U. However that is history. We all know the imbroglio that ensued which was shameful; court case, him not playing for nearly a year etc. I suspect money, John Shittu's influence/greed and poor advice to Mikel were pivotal to his decision.

I strongly believe that if he had chosen Man U, Sir Alex would have allowed him continue his development on his righteous path as an attacking midfielder and ultimately replace Paul Scholes. After Man U lost out on Mikel they bought Hargreaves & Andersson afterwards to fill the void but as far as I am concerned they have not lived up to billing and stamped their authority and right to that position for Man U whereas Mikel would have easily excelled there based on his previous pedigree.

Instead Mourihno moulded him into what he wanted; a hard tackler, shield for his defence and a fighter. His footballing characteristics are now; slowing games and passing sideways and backwards. What happened to his pinpoint cross deliveries and passes? What happened to his attacking instincts? What happened to his ability to incessantly move forward, control a game and dictate its pace ? etc.

Almighty God I pray that you provide for Nigerian football another prospect that has HALF of the potential John Mikel Obi had in 2005, and deliver him from likes of John Shittu, Roman Ambramovic and Jose Mourihno instead guide him in the path of Siasias, Wengers, Fergusons, Rijkaards and their likes so that this footballer will develop his game and become a Messiah for Nigerian football.
I need Amen from believers!

As for the women's semis its V.Williams vs S. Williams for the 20th time in their career., V.Williams leads 10-9. I predict V.Williams to win and ultimately win the tournament.

@Tosinaded

For your benefit and that of those that judge a topic (book) by its cover, I have interpreted what I meant and still mean by the title of the topic previously, and I do so again for the last time!

Mikel Obi Is Not A Super Eagle And Using Him Will Ruin Us.

I imply that Mikel is playing below par in the position (no. 10) he is playing for the Super Eagles, therefore it will be in our best interest to either draft him to (no. 4) defensive midfield or bench him.

Take it or leave it.

@ dotman01, In response to your questions below, answers are contained herein;
1. Firstly, pls answer tosin's questn
Answer: tosinaded's question has been answered above.

2. u agreed dat mikel's a very gud defensive mid fielder dat shows dat he'snt d prob but amodu
Answer: Read my posts on this topic and find my answers therein

3. okocha would av made a difference on sunday? Why didnt 9ja qualify 4 d last wc(okocha was there against angola)
Answer: I recollect we failed to qualify for the last World cup because we lost 0-1 to Angola in Luanda. Do you mind checking the players that played Angola in that match? After which I am certain you will reverse your statement.

4. again messi's an attacker/winger so we all kno he has d potentials to shine dan a defensive midfielder, so pls dnt compare messi wit mikel.
Answer: I see you have little or no knowledge of football. How does Mikel's position as a defensive midfielder stop him from matching Messi's class?  There have been great players that have emerged from the no. 4 position. Patrick Vieira, Roy Keane, Paul Ince, Makelele etc. even defenders win world footballer of the year, like Fabio Cannavarro did recently

5. If u cant compare taiwo who was d 3rd best in d wyc wit mikel, i dnt see any reason why anyone shuld be comparin mikel wit messi.
Answer: Taiwo isnt doing badly but in my opinion he has not excelled because his attacking capabilities are still average. As I outlined in a previous post, the full backs the modern game of football have taken the role of wingers of the past, a full back has to posses blistering speed and be able to deliver tailored crosses into the opponents box or thereabout. Taiwo needs to up the ante and be in the class of Patrice Evra, Gael Clichy, Bosingwa etc to become great. Anyway I will not digress because this topic is not about Taiwo but Mikel.

6. rooney, ronaldo, viera also get redcarded 4 makin tackles, its nt a new thin in football.
Answer: I will assume you agree with my point that Mikel bags red cards. Well done!

7. lastly i didnt xpect anyone to single handedly pick mikel cos 9ja didnt play very well. Was he d only one dat didnt play very well.
Answer: Again I have answered this question previously, A playmaker brings in creative spark into his team, initiates attacking forays and wins important matches with a moment of brilliance or a class-act. The onus is on him to lift the game if his team plays below par (that is if he is world class though) I didnt see our playmaker (Mikel) do that on Sunday

8. martins lost a glarin one on one wit d goalkeeper nobody talk, was dat mikel's fault .
Answer: Yes Martins lost a sitter! How many chances did your playmaker (Mikel) create for himhuh

9. Our defenders could nt do dier job very wel on dat day, was dat mikel's fault also.
Answer: How many goals did they concedehuh

10. They win as a team, they draw as a team , dey loose as a team. Period.
Answer: Where the team fail as they did on Sunday, there might be a chance that a world class playmaker could create a moment of brilliance to win such game, just like Paul Scholes' wonder goal sent Man U into the Champions league final against Barcelona in the semi final last year, like Fabregas' wonder goal against AC Milan sent Arsenal into the quarter final last year do you want to hear more?!? .

Analysts like myself air our professional views on what could have made a difference I have rightly done on Nigeria and you Mikel sympathizers or maybe Chelsea fans wont let me be!

in an organised system, etim esin is not supposed to be a public commentator as he has a very bad record hence he cannot be a role model or someone to be listened to.
in him, i can only see ganja(Igbo - marijuana) speaking.
soon and very soon, i see nigeria and nigerians listening to normal people while abnormals will be shout down like wat happened to obj in london.
we can't continue lsitening to all these men as we will always end up their ways.
if we compare the qualities in etim and his achievements, we will all agree that he is an underachiever hence has no moral jurisdiction to direct the ways of others.
when it comes to football, we know who to listen to. etim has nothing to show for his football life and nothing to show for his life outside the pitch.
we can't continue listening to everybody. when next i hear etim condem any player, i will make it a point to get through him directly to remind him of his failures.
@ chidichris, Eastbay’s answer has flawed your post above. Maradona was a drug addict and is doing a good job managing Argentina. Why castigate Etim because of his past? I am not a fan of his character but that does not disqualify him from airing his view especially as it concerns his motherland.

As they say; Attack the idea, not the man.

@ HNIC

Yeah the equalizing goal was as result of Oliseh's poor clearance and weak tackle on Baggio because he was avoiding a second consecutive yellow card in order not to miss the quarter final we had not qualified for. The winning goal is what I described as the equalizer. It was a mix-up Secong goal for first goal. The match was 15yrs ago so a mix-up of that nature is understandable. However, I reiterate that Emenalo is an ingrate!

SportsRe: Mikel Obi Almost Fainted -emenalo by MAITEMA(m): 5:43pm On Apr 01, 2009
Who is Mike Emenalo? Is he not that boy that nobody knew? the same boy that was playing his oblivious football in the U.S. and from nowhere Westerhof imposed him on our U.S.A '94 team? Isnt he the infamous no.26? the incompetent central defender! Was is not his inability to cover for Cerezo (Eguavoen) properly that left Eguavoen with no option than no bring down Roberto Baggio in the 86th minute and then the Italians got a penalty that gave them the equalizer and then ultimately spur them to win the game and deny Nigeria of a historic quarterfinal place in the World cup? As far as I am concerned that is as far as his history as a Nigerian player goes. He should shut up! and look for better ways to protect his job as a Chelski scout rather than use Nigeria-Mikel issue as a leverage to get into good books of his employers.

Emmanueal Adebayor was injured and had not played for Arsenal for 5weeks yet rather than wait to to return to England to get an okay from his team’s medical staff and then start playing for Arsenal after a long layoff he opted to play for his country and scored the only goal that destroyed Cameroun.

Where is patriotism in this country? Why is an ingrate like Emenalo who wants our players to only serve their fatherland when extremely convenient for them a voice in our football? Emenalo is a nonentity and a bloody opportunist. I remember Nduka Ugbade was deprived of the opportunity to be in our U.S.A ’94 team and ultimately make history as the first player in the world to play in u-17, u-21 and senior world cup because his expected place was "dramatically" conceded to Emenalo, and this is how this scumbag pays Nigeria; putting Chelsea before Nigeria.
SportsRe: Mikel Obi Is Not A Super Eagle And Using Him Will Ruin Us by MAITEMA(op): 4:29pm On Apr 01, 2009
@ chidichris

It is still within my capacity as originator of this thread to properly explain the "real" meaning of this topic: Mikel Obi Is Not A Super Eagle And Using Him Will Ruin Us. Or better still I will put it in elementary English for you since that may make us understand each other. I mean Mikel is playing below par in the position he is playing for the National team, therefore it will be in our best interest to either draft him to defensive midfield or bench him.

Now to your questions:

Question: do u think with okocha or etim in the last match nigeria would have won?
Answer:  Yes an "Etim" or an "Okocha" would have made a difference in that match and most likely won it. If you follow football very well as I suspect you do, you will agree with me that the modern game of football is played in the middle of the pack and the cord (link up)from the midfield to the opponent's 18yard box is the life of the game and has to be controlled if you must win a football match. That is where football is played today! Little wonder wingers of the modern game (no. 7 & 11) 90% of the time drive-in from the wings rather than the orthodox crossing of the ball for a powerful no. 9 to finish as it was in the then days with wingers in the mould of Finidi, Elaho, Amuneke, Babangida et al. Instead it is the fullbacks (no. 2 & 3) that have taken over the role of the wingers and do the crossing when necessary. Back to the point, if there is no "Okocha" or an "Etim" in your team to pilot the midfield with a no. 4 as foil for them, then a football team has a 10% chance of winning games.

Question: whose role is it to choose playing position of a player?
Answer:  It is indeed the role of a coach to pick the players, and Amoudu naturally will play Mikel as Nigeria's playmaker because it is assumed that he can. My question is; when last did Mikel play in that position? Amoudu is technically and tactically inept as far as I am concerned. How can he comply with assumption? Just like England continually played Mihael Owen as top striker because on a good day in 2001 in Germany he destroyed the German Machine after his wonder goal against Argentina in France 98. For the records, I NEVER supported Amoudu's return as Eagles coach.

Question: were u aware that mikel have been sick and was not allowed to play that game by chelsea medics?
Answer: I do no know if Mikel was sick as I do not follow Chelski news. I wish him well.

Question: when did wright philips score his first chelsea goal?
Answer: Wright-Phillips should naturally have goals-drought in Chelski because Abramovich's billions lured him from a flourishing career with the Sky-Blues or Citizens (Man City). Against his father's wish he went to Chelski to play rugby-like football under Mourinho. The last time I checked he has started scoring for Man City again after doing the right thing by returning.

Question: how many cards have mikel gotten this season?
Answer: I know Mikel is now renowned for his woeful tackles in England and is always in the news for such and issues with refrees. As for the number of cards, count them and let me know.

Question: messi was silent in bacelona until ronaldinho's exit-true or false?
Answer: Messi has always been playing even when Ronaldinho was in Barca.

Question: if u can say the truth here, did u expect mikel to have played the number of games he has so far played for chelsea?
Answer: Yes I expected Mikel to have played the number of games he has played for Chelsea this season because he is a good defensive midfielder. I even prefer him to Essien in that position.

Question: mikel was not benched for essien rather he was sick that he could only train for 10 minutes hence he was not even on the sub list on the game against spurs.mikel at the moment is not sharing the same wing with essien rather he is on his own as esien is enjoying free role in chelsea now.
Answer: If Mikel's sickness was the reason for not playing against Spurs, then its just a matter of days for us non-Chelski fans to see that. When do you play Newcastle? Saturday or Sunday?

Question: is anyone talking about sam okwraji till now? the man who died playing for nigeria.
Answer: Sam Okwaraji is a National hero and was a great no. 10 nobody has forgotten him just like Cameroun still remembers Mac Vivien-Foe.

Question: pls confirm to me that mikel is the best player in nigeria at the moment.
Answer: I do not know your criteria for determining Nigeria's best player and personally will not pick Mikel ahead of 50% of what we manage to call Super Eagles today.

Question: do let me know if u are still interested in taking another picture with mikel.
Response: I took a picture with him, a co-player and his coach 4yrs ago because it seemed the proper thing to do at that time. I wonder why you are now making an issue of this.

Satisfied with my answers?

@ chidichris & Dotman 01, I assume that you are both sentimental because you are either Mikel sympathizers or Chelsea fans.

My problem with Mikel in my capacity as a staunch Nigerian football fan is that he is simply not ripe for our no. 10 position and that our coaches should play him as a defensive midfielder and draft a proper Palymaker/schemer to join him because he has deviated from what we saw in his junior days.

I dont hate him, as a matter of fact I know him. I had the opportunity to meet him during the FIFA u-21 in 2005 in Holland. I lost my voice chanting for the team most times and his mesmerizing display portended potentials. When we beat Morocco in the semis most of us survived grievous attacks from humiliated Moroccans and we proudly stood our grounds that night. When we lost the final I was sitting with Mummuni Alao (Complete football) and throughout the match we commended the boy, little wonder he seconded Lionel Messi as best player, little wonder Sir Alex and Chelski scrambled for his signature. Today can you compare Mikel to Messi? When Messi is being considered for World footballer of the year, Mikel is busy bagging red cards for awful tackles.

Back to my point, Mikel is far from the player the world envisaged him to become or better still he has developed into a very good defensive midfielder. Therefore Nigeria should use him as a defensive midfielder  and look for a natural replacement for Okocha. Maybe we should manage aged Kanu or even Oruma, Obodo until we find a real no. 10.

@ chidichris to your questions chronologically;

1. pls explain to me who a play maker is.
Answer: A playmaker is the man that brings in creative spark into his team, initiates attacking forays and wins important matches with moments of brilliance. Examples of players I consider such are Pele, Maradona, Michel Platini, Jay-Jay Okocha, Paul Scholes, Francesco Totti, Cesc Fabregas, Abedi Pele et al.

2. the last time nigeria won the african cup of nations, who was their play maker?
Answer: The last time we (Nigeria) won the Nations cup (Tunisia '94) Jay-Jay Okocha was our playmaker and we also had Thompson Oliha, who is capable and also played the role for the team.

3. is this topic about mikel's inabilities or amodu's?
My topic focused on Mikel because under such an abysmal performance by the Super Eagles the onus normally is on the playmaker to produce one or two class-acts to win the game for the team. Mikel was out of sorts for a “Playmaker” and busy doing his defensive thing.

4. did nigeria fail to do well in mozambique because mikel did not play well?
Answer: Same response as 3 above

5. from all posts here, mikel is not a good player, will it be right if i say mikel is either bribing all these coaches or using juju on them both at club levels and national team?
Answer: Mikel is a good player but has simply fallen below expectation as a Playmaker and metamorphosed into a great no. 4 (Oliseh) instead of becoming a Maradona he had potentials for.  You cannot expect Nigerians to accept less just because you are either sympathetic towards him or a Chelsea fan

6. what do u think is responsible for every commentator to talk about mikel at the end of every match including you?
Answer: If true as you have mentioned that every commentator talks about Mikel after a match, then it is simply because he mostly performs below expectation.

7. i will be happy to know who is the play maker of england at the moment.
Answer: I lived in England for a while and somewhat follow/support their National team (after Nigeria ). They suck!  and they have been so for many years. They couldn't even qualify for the last Euro Championship when all they had to do to qualify was draw against Croatia @ home. They lost!!! Do you know part of the reason they suck? Because in my opinion, they play Lampard & Gerrad (similar players) in their central midfield, no defensive/attacking balance. Also, they believe in established names rather than prospects. Capello is trying to change that and hasn’t even had his way on that.

8. what do you think is the problem of nigerian football - mikel?
Answer: I cannot ascertain the exact problem of Nigerian football but I hold that lack of leadership from a great player is part of it. A charismatic player that gives 100% every time and lifts morale when down. In the past we had leaders in the team like Keshi, Oliseh et al. Right now there isnt any in sight. Kanu should have taken that responsibility but he is too meek, although I respect him for his meekness and humility. Maybe if your Mikel was a world class playmaker by now he would have carried the team.

9. under normal circumstances, can't nigeria win in moputo even with 10 players?
Answer: NO simply because football has changed and they  are no more minnows. You cant expect Nigeria to beat Mozambique with 10 players simply because Nigeria is Nigeria and Mozambique is Mozambique.

10. is etim among ur list of successful players in nigeria? if yes, pls highlight his achievements.
Answer: I am not a fan of Etim Esin’s character but he was a great no. 10. If Mikel had half of his skills now, I (we) wont be complaining.

@ Dotman01, With all my heart I am not criticizing Mikel because I dont support Chelsea. I have met him and have a picture with him, Siasia and Ogbuke together in Holland. It is just that he has disappointed me or lets say Mourihno ruined him.

You are boasting that he is the only Nigerian sure of playing Champions league football and in the top 4 of English Premiership, but have you noticed that Hiddink has dropped him for Essien? Have you wondered why? I imagine its because Essien goes forward and has attacking instincts. Do you think it pleases me that Essien is benching Mikel? How many goals has Mikel scored in his Chelski career? I remember one "all body touch" goal. I dont even know if they awarded it in his name.

@ tosinaded

What I am saying is crystal clear! Every SUCCESSFUL team in the world that I know has a central playmaker. Maybe you should name one that doesnt. Regarding your claims of Ajilore & Keita partnership,I will not join issues with you on that matter because I do not recollect that. However I recollect that Odemwinge played the roving role for that team a couple of times and I know Siasia to be an advocate of delighful attacking football.

I am sure you are a Chelsea fan and indirectly defending Mikel.

Super Eagles will be doomed if we continually use Mikel as our playmaker. He has simply become a defensive midfielder. Mourihno ruined Nigeria’s opportunity to have a worldclass playmaker by destroying that boy's potential in my opinion. Amodu is technically inept to have made such a woeful decision as using Mikel as our playmaker. If we are to make any serious impact in world football, we need a playmaker in the mould of Okocha/Nwosu/Etim which Mikel is NOT!

With what I saw yesterday, I doubt we will qualify for the World cup, and if we do, we will not get past the preliminary stage. It was embarrassing the way the Mozambicans outplayed, outwitted and bombarded our Eagles for 90mins. We were even lucky the referee disallowed their goals which were disputable and most referees would have allowed.

If nothing serious is done about our central midfield, believe me, we will be doomed. Why on earth are we playing two defensive midfielders (Keita & Mikel) together? This ruined the game for us. A true playmaker/rover like Okocha would have given us creative spark to attack from the middle. In fact I even prefer we manage aged Kanu as playmaker until we find a new one soonest I hope.

Muscling each other I suppose, reminds me of Don Michael Corleone & Moe Green; "NO, YOU DON'T BUY ME OUT, I BUY YOU OUT!!!"

They are both billionaires in $ anyway, so why the animosity? I liken this their war to kiddies di.ck measuring contest. What a shame!

Kazuya M,

Be reminded that the so called deleted thread is related to this topic and you were the originator therefore if it was deleted for any anomaly I suppose it is because of the stolen gadgets you displayed for sale.

What scores are you talking about? You are obviously not in my league. I WILL NOT indulge in such inanity as creating a topic to settle "scores" with you. I am too busy trying to fortify my business in face of the global economic downturn and rising $ against Naira . Moreover, it is obvious that you do not have responsibilities. When you have mouths to feed I believe you will gear your energy towards constructive and logical critisisms.

Kazuya M, we meet again!

Why did you delete my response to your post? I bet you cant now since you didnt start this thread. Your action only confirmed by thoughts that you are a yahoo yahoo boy and that the wares you display for sale on Nairaland are bought online with stolen credit cards. Be wary as your doomsday for guillotining is nigh.

Talking about number of posts, its not the number that matters but the sense made per post after all most of your posts are just smileys.

I'm sure you will accuse me of being pro-Intercontinental bank, before you exude your infantile bravado; take a minute and go through my posts.

For the records, I am neither a customer nor a shareholder of the bank.

PoliticsRe: Did Blogger Dayo Coker Receive Death Threats From Intercontinental Bank? by MAITEMA(m): 3:49pm On Mar 24, 2009
Dayo Coker is obviously not alone. His statement ", they obviously do not understand how far we are willing to go with this crusade" confirms it. Personally I deduce conspiracy theory from his allegations.

I also went through his blog and noticed he quotes his sources as "I received an email from one of Nigeria’s most respected financial analysts", "She later sent me her assessment of Nigerian banks based on their stability", "A GM at UBA sent me a confidential email two days ago claiming that, ". To me, these are all preposterous. He even quoted a UBA boardroom rant by Suzanne Iroche saying “Tony, you can’t be serious” to Tony Elumelu, and then she resigns. Hmmm Dayo the Great. I am sure a UBA Director sent him an email/a text after the board meeting.

My point is: if this whole Intercontinental on the verge of collapse brouhaha is based on Dayo Coker's assertions then everyone firing the bank should rethink instead of wasting their time and effort.

In my opinion Dayo Coker wants popularity and he seems to be getting some with this.
