Are you not aware that that this evil chant causes innocent people to be slaughtered in the North?
Don't mind them. They never lived in the North to witness the true nature of barbarism and terrorism in the region.
PoliticsRe: Even Boko Haram Are Afraid Of Buhari by major466(m):
What interest me about this post was the claim that Buhari destroyed Maitatsine sect.
The sect was never destroyed. They were rather suppressed from public view by the military government for reasons best known to them. Were the Sponsors and real masterminds of the sect brought to book? No.
Besides after the so called destruction of the Maitatsine sect, other deadly groups emerged right in full glare of the military government right from 1985-1999. Sara suker for instance were up shoot of the Maitatsine. The killing and destruction of Christians and their worship centres were majorly carried out by those sects. We all know the Bauchi crisis of 1993 were hundreds, if not thousands of lives and worship centres were destroyed. Who were those who carried out these attacks? It was the metamorphosed Maitatsine sect.
What was their goal? To Islamise Nigeria.
Thus, for anyone to come out and say Buhari destroyed Maitatsine sect is not only fallacious but completely misinformed about the intricacies of insurgency and Almajiri system in Northern Nigeria.

To further understand the crux of the matter, first examine how the Maitatsine sect itself was established.
There are many questions surrounding the emergence of the Maitatsine sect.

- Who are the Sponsors?
- What was the reason for their emergence?
- What was their major goal?

Answers to these questions will show a lot of similarities between the emergence of the Maitatsine sect and Boko Haram.

-The Maitatsine sect emerged after Nigeria became a Democracy in 1979.
-Boko Haram sect emerged immediately after the return to Democracy in 1999.

-The Maitatsine sect originated in the North East of Nigeria.
-Boko Haram also originated in the North East.

-The Maitatsine sect major aim was to Islamise Nigeria.
-Boko Haram sect major goal is to Islamise Nigeria.

-The so called leader of the sect (I believe was an imposter) was killed in controversial circumstances.
-Boko Haram leader too was killed in Controversial circumstances.

These and many more are some similarities surrounding the two groups.
Therefore, rather than say Buhari destroyed the Maitatsine sect, it would be save to say the general only played to the gallery by suppressing the group, only for a moment before they emerge at an appointed time.
That they did in 1999 through Boko Haram.

You're right. I remember the dominant story about Michael back in the day was that he got tired of being black so he bleached his skin to become a white super star. grin Funny enough, many African Americans held that view for years before they got to learn about Vitiligo.

Vitiligo is painless. smiley

Foreign AffairsRe: U.S Presidential Limo Goes Missing, Secret Service Scratching Their Heads by major466(m):
Just imagine if it were a Nigerian Presidential lemo that got missing, the media and their allies will have a swell time blaming and inventing insults of all kind that have never been heard before including ancient ones combined and heaped at GEJ like no man business. But because it is America, administrative lapses and clerical issues were put forward as possible cause of the missing lemo, thereby excusing Obama of the entire blame.
Indeed, GEJ is a Strong Man with a Big Heart.
PoliticsRe: Africa's Name Before Europeans Renamed It Africa by major466(m): 9:42pm On Oct 15, 2014
ROSSIKE:
Whose oral history gave you that name? That is an Arab sounding term and there is no way it can be the ''original'' name for Africa since Arabs only entered the continent a thousand years ago, while the continent has given rise to civilizations that are over 12,000 years old. So whatever the 'original' name for Africa was, we simply don't know.
Exactly my point. It sound so Arabic. The name itself is ridiculous because African Civilization predates Arab Civilization by thousands of years. As it is today, there's no record of the original name of Africa as far as archeology is concerned.

HealthVitiligo: How Do You Cope With It? by major466(op):
Was watching a movie last night when all of a sudden NEPA reduced the current by 90 percent huh The electricity left was so low not even enough to power my small radio. So I switched off everything.
Completely bored, I decided to browse the net and see what's going on around the world. I came across a publication about a very rare skin condition called Vitiligo.
For those of who may not know:
Vitiligo according to the National Institute of Athrities and Musculoskeletal and Skin Disease is a pigmentation disorder in which Melanocytes (the cell that make pigment) in the skin are destroyed. As a result, White patches appear on the skin in different parts of the body.
http://www.niams.nih.gov/Health_Info/Vitiligo/

As soon as I saw the word Vitiligo my mind flashed back to a program I watched last year I think, on NTA about People having this rare skin disorder. The program featured people who shared experiences about how they live with it.
A lady revealed how people stigmatized and discriminate against her because of her condition, how her boyfriend dumped her because of fear that he might catch it among other concerns. The testimony got me thinking, How do these guys cope with this rare condition? I know Michael Jackson among other people struggled with it through out his life. Remember the surgical mask? That was the early stage of his condition. Its not their fault they have it. As a matter of fact, Vitiligo can affect anyone at any time at anyplace. The cause of it is still a mystery.

Do you have this condition? How do you cope with it in this our society? Why don't you share your experience here and educate those of us who have no idea what it feels like to change color all of a sudden.
I think its time we show some love and care for people living with Vitiligo.
Guys if you have a girlfriend with it don't leave her, just marry her. Likewise ladies. People living with Vitiligo can still look beautiful.

When did we become like this? In trying to be "wise" we became "foolish" ( Romans 1:22 ESV Claiming to be wise, they became fools). How can we still allow a military man who simply dropped his khaki for agbada, who is OVER 70 YEARS OF AGE, who is bereft of ideas and creativity, to rule us and "Yorubas" (the hungry and compromised ones) are saying yes? undecided

WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY PEOPLE? ARE WE BLIND?
