PoliticsRe: Revealed: Why Obasanjo Is Fighting Jonathan by major466(m): 7:17pm On Dec 02, 2014
OBJ of all people should know that leaders don't like being dictated upon and controlled like some servant. This is pure disrespect and very uncivilized. *Sips Tea to repel the cold*
He can give brotherly advice and share experiences as a former President to a fellow colleague President (GEJ) on national issues, at least this is what happens in sane societies. He can't go around dishing out instructions on a daily basis to GEJ as if he works for him. Is Goodluck Jonathan his house boy? Just because he was instrumental to GEJ rising to power doesn't mean he can interfere with his government at will. GEJ is the President of Nigeria elected by Nigerians in 2011 and so deserve respect from everyone including OBJ.
Of all the leaders we have had in this country, two have control issues. look at these guys, Yakubu Gowon, Shehu Shagari, IBB, and Abdulsalam Abubakar. None of them are as intrusive and stubborn as OBJ.
OBJ and the other one are just too obsessed with power. Who is the other one? Your guess is as good as mine.

Truckpusher:
These are the things that most gullible Nigerians don't know about in the polity.
The call to drop Sambo is being pioneered by the core North and Obasanjo for an unfriendly bedfellow whose loyalty lies with the old political heavy weights and order, but Jonathan is finding it very hard to boot out a man that has remained loyal and respectful despite the rhetoric coming out from the North for just no excuse and he knew that these could cost him a reasonable portion of voters confidence considering the fact that sentiments for Sambo would grow if he decides to dump the party and join the another party or even the APC.

The North's and the old order's constant call to drop Sambo has been one of Jonathan's too many sins against Obasanjo and his band of strange bedfellows mostly from the North and their promise was an absolute victory against every opposition, deliver the North to Jonathan and a clear road map in helping him to rein in boko haram by involving all the major stakeholders that knew who and who is running the real and the political boko haram, but Jonathan so far have refused to be blackmailed, hence the chaos and those that knew about how to solve the boko haram problem kept their plans to themselves and watch while the country spiral out of control under Jonathan.I guess they still have their plan B but we are waiting.

Do you think that people like Asari and co are just making threats over nothing - There are people in this country that wants to decide what policies the President can make and the ones he dare not touch because to them Nigeria is their farm and everyone else their slave.

People might be asking why would they want to change Sambo and replace him with somebody like Lamido?
The reasons are simple; Sambo is independent of the old bloc and has refused them to use his office as a launching pad in controlling the policies of Jonathan hence he is not loyal and they needed to boot him out and put in their own man that would serve as their mouth, eyes and ear - Everything boils down to greed and personal selfish interest.

The old bloc wants Nigeria back at all cost and in their quest to achieve this they are doing everything possible to frustrate this administration but God is watching.
You deserve a Gold Medal.

Buhari was not President but Military Head of State. The Supreme Military Council take charge of the Day-to-Day affairs of a Military Government because the Constitution was suspended. Buhari was the face of government as at then
You seem to have this nag of defining situations to suit your needs. A military government is a totalitarian government with the Head of State serving as head of the Supreme Military Council. Was Buhari not the head of the Supreme Military Council when he was head of State?

GEJ will definitely carry the day. He's more experienced and knows the in and out of all the sectors in the country and the challenges facing them unlike Buhari who knows nothing except corruption. Watch for Buhari, cos out of five words that comes out of his mouth, three will be corruption.

The only place where people wash with warm water (Those not used to the cold)
The only place where jackets and thick gowns rocks as fashion garments.
The only place where boys and girls, young and old wear socks like slippers for warmth against the chilly cold day and night. Jos City Rocks.

The APC party symbol represents their avergae members psychic which is to get into power for the sake of sweeping out their opponents first and then clearing the treasury with Tinubu as the dustbin
You said it all.
The broom represent the Stone Age, which APC stands for via Tinubu's comments about using charms and voodoo. APC's wish for this country is that Nigeria goes back to the dark ages.
The umbrella represent modernity for Nigeria in the 21st century.

Don't mind them. The north mostly voted for CPC in 2011.
As a matter of fact, the north have this penchant attitude of cheating in competitions. Take a look at the 2006 national census. Animals were counted as human beings.

barcanista:
if you can't get the message then I pity for you. Whatever spent on the masses is CAPITAL project. QED
As far as am concerned anything welfare is a recurrent expenditure. Pumping huge amount of cash without a corresponding increase in value and productivity cannot be termed a capital expenditure.
Compare GEJ's Plan - Youwin Project (Capital Expenditure) that gives out loans to over a thousand Nigerian youths to establish their own business. Let's say out of 1000 youths, 800 became very success and were able to employ at least 4 people after 1 year, these will translate to 3200 jobs (800*4). Again in the second year they were able to expand and increase their workforce from 4 to 8 people. By the time you multiply 800 by 8, you will get 6400 jobs. That means a simple loan to 800 youths through Youwin was able to generate 6400 jobs in the Nigerian economy within two years. This is what productivity is all about. By the time you factored the multiplier effect after ten years, as much as 40,000 job would have been created. The more jobs are created the more value is added to Nigeria's economy, and the more value added to the economy the more it grows. That's way much better compared to your APC's welfare scheme of N5,000 each to 25 million youths which by the way will not result in any increase in value nor productivity to the Nigerian economy. This is pure waste of money.

Their next line of defense would be about corruption , the rot in the system and the fat allowances the lawmakers and the senators are taking home , as if the whole shameless act is a PDP thing alone we thank God that their members are equally in the same house and has never proposed a bill neither raised a motion to reduce their jumbo pay by at least 40%.
Exactly. The major problem with the Nigerian budget is the bogus political allowances of political office holders especially the National Assembly. That has been the problem since 1999
APC is bereft of ideology and party orientation, what they are only after is to grab power at all cost and of course I guess we all know what happens when a clueless party without manifesto like the APC with too many unreal promises takes over power - Economic chaos becomes the order of the day.
I tell you if APC wins 2015 presidential election (God forbid) by mistake Nigeria is finished.

Bro no de fall your hand. Recurrent means all monies to be spend on running government. Eg stationeries, salaries and allowances of government officials and civil servants, pensions and gratuity, and other sundary expenses acrued to "AN office".

Capital expenditure includes all those monies that goes to the public, like infrastructure, social services, educational projects etc but not salaries and allowances or pensions.

In simple definition: whatever goes to the public is capital. Whatever is used to run government and parastatals is recurrent
What. Are you saying the planned APC N5,000 stipends to 25 million Nigerian youths is a capital expenditure?

You are very correct thank you for joining this conversation. All we want is what is right for our country. Let us think and reason as you have done now like intelligent adults, to come up with real solutions not empty promises from empty heads. I truly think that APC does not realize the mistakes they are making, hopefully this will better prepare them for 2019. You can no longer fool us we know who is working and who is just posing.
You know, it's easy to roll out fantastic looking plans that sounds excellent to the ears. But there's a big difference between rolling out good looking plans and feasibility. PDP knows better now because OBJ made the same mistake with the power sector during his time.
