Are smartphones halal? It's a serious question; for comparison, not all Christian denominations tolerate their use.

Another comment from a Facebook friend, since Nairalanders won't touch this "meme".

"Africans people born on the continent are victims of an equally poor education system. Thus, they are ignorant, arrogant, and are unwilling to be taught. African people born outside of the continent are ignorant, willing to be taught, and very knowledgeable of the devil who spoiled them. Africans born and socialized on the continent are in no position to teach anybody anything about Africa -- which they know nothing about. (All of the knowledge on Africans in the past several centuries have come from her diaspora) Ms. Fatima Diouf is promoting arrogance and false pride ("proud for nothing"wink -- both tools of the devil to maintain division. But, upon closer inspection, the message of this "meme" is slickly packaged and is within the conceptual parameters of Western feminist philosophy (an anti-African phenomenon)"
Hom many "Africans people born on the continent" has this person ever met? Three? Four? Africa is a big continent; too big to be subjected to such generalizations.

What do you mean "his" ancestor's doings? Don't you mean our ancestors?
I meant everyone's ancestors. Africans', African-Americans', and even whites', to a degree.
Culture / Re: If You Support A Separate Section For Black Americans Come On In Here. by makahlj2: 9:50am On Jul 10, 2013
souldust: i asked if we should have a separate section for the AAs and the moderator said i should create a thread to see if people will support it.

I want us to have a separate section for them. Maybe a subsection in the culture section. This is to enable us here in Africa know more about people we have never known anything about except that which is thrown to our face by the media.

My idea of the typical Black american is the one who knows how to sing, people who attend no other church but the baptist church and to whom the baptist church plays a big part in entire life. Also, people who wear multiple chains in their neck and can be found in prisons etc.

I may be right or wrong but i think they are an interesting people and would like to know one personally
Yeah, they also love soul food, watermelons, fried chicken, chitterlings and kool-aid, are angry and loud and most are on welfare... undecided or at least some people think they do. Stereotyping a whole ethnic group of people this way in a public forum is counter-productive. Don't we have enough problems with the Somali trolls?

yorubaamerican: You need to reclaim your kidnapped (and betrayed) brethren because WE HOLD THE KEY to your salvation.
How so? Nobody should be held responsible for his ancestors' doings. And should I mention that there are WHITE SLAVEOWNERS among the ancestors of African-Americans?

lol. so u would much prefer military rule? u already miss ABACHA?
I didn't say what I'd prefer. Actually, it depends on the circumstances. Blind faith in a "democracy" can be no less harmful than a military junta.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Latest Craze In China: Human Breast Milk For Adult by makahlj2: 1:45pm On Jul 05, 2013
Fools. Lactose intolerance is extremely frequent in China, which means that the adult Chinese should not consume any kind of milk at all, including human. Else they risk falling sick, with nausea, vomiting, flatulence, diarrhea and other unpleasant symptoms.

99cent: BAD. duh
a millitary ousting a democratically elected govt is BAD.why are you even asking this question?
if people don't like Morsi, he only has 4 yrs before another person can be democratically elected. that is a DEMOCRACY.

A COUP is never a good thing. you should know that as a NIgerian. Tough luck to Egypt because they may never smell democracy again for many decades.
Yes, but only if we are sure that democracy is always a good thing. Which is far from proven, especially for countries such as Egypt (and Nigeria too).

GboyegaD:

I have a question though. Does it mean after ferterlization, the ferterlized ovum travels to the stomach or is it that the ferterlization occurs outside the uterus? Just trying to understand how such happens.
The already fertilized ovum travels to the abdominal cavity. Fertilization itself usually occurs in the tubes, and it cannot occur anywhere outside the female reproductive system (barring the obvious exception of IVF).

I read somewhere that the male Y chromosome is terminally ill and will go extinct in no more than few thousand years. Therefore, 100000 years from today, all humans will be female.

I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke like a dragon. He causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slave, to be given marks on their right hands, or on their foreheads; and that no one would be able to buy or to sell, unless he has that mark, the name of the beast or the number of his name. His number is six hundred sixty-six.

Exactly. I can imagine most of the solar radiation captured in space and converted to electricity. Only a small part reaches the Earth surface and as a result, humans become lighter. Maybe these folks on the pic are black, and Oyinbos of the future look like Albinos smiley

martinseme: with large portruding eyes as such i believe all humans will go blind as soon as they are born as a result of dangereous objects and dusts which will get into those eyes.why will it be only the eyes which will expand and leave every parts of the body.since this people said we evolved from monkeys i was expecting by such a long time we would have evolved to some other wierd looking creature....peop le should basically stop being ignorant and accept the truth that human are so much advanced creatures that couldnt have evolved from chimps but we created by God almighty.

These monkeys are not blind. In fact, they have excellent vision.

No. Your Willamette/Northwood CPU cannot do 64 bits. Only later revisions, such as Prescott, can.
