tchidi:With what I am seeing, he can't reach Otuoke. |
lalasticlala:And the girl is fine oo. But come oo, if he gets to the creeks how would he cross it? |
Don't worry. Anything that is noticed by Buhari and his team not to be done in the national interest will be reversed. |
d61073:Bros don't waste your time. All those you see here hauling invectives have a history of sharing Geller's views. Somebody is calling the shooter mad, but is Geller any different? This is a woman who believes Islam is taking over America; that Obama is out to Islamize America; that a few aides of the Obama administration (who are Muslims) are members of the Muslim Brotherhood, and are therefore working for Jihadi movements. Another is saying that he's worried his brothers in the north may take up this. He doesn't have to do that. Geller got not some northerners trailing her but a 'looney' (as they call him) at her backyard. The subject matter itself – "Anti-Mohammed" is bad enough, but watch out how Gellerized Nigerians will soon turn it into a regional fight in their country. |
The moment I saw Geller's name, I said hmm – it's Islamophobia. |
Shortyy:Thanks lady. I don't engage in obscene exchanges. |
noblezone:I would follow you to call this feat a scam if I can prove it's a scam. But you don't put a hole in a data without doing the same experiment or quoting an authority reporting on similar event. |
noblezone:I don't have the facts to disprove your or the trekker's claim, but what I am certain of is, there are people who can walk a 10 km distance in an hour. |
luvinhubby:You mean it cannot be done? |
luvinhubby:Is it possible walk from Lagos to Abuja on the number of days he claimed? And, is noblezone's experiment standard enough to discredit what was put forward by the Trekker? If you can call for volunteers and reach Abuja in double the time that the fellow claimed, then you too have done what he did – only that you're not the first. |
noblezone:It's difficult but not entirely impossible. That's my point. At every time in human history, many things were thought to be impossible, but humans have broken those myths. As an example, there were beliefs even in the scientific community that the human body can never run 100 meters in under 10 seconds, or that nobody can run the mile under four minutes. As at June 2013, 86 sprinters have broken the 10 minute-barrier, and the same year that Roger Bannister ran the mile under 4 minutes had many athletes achieving the same. For one, the first walker (Lagos – Abuja) is a pacesetter. This feat wouldn't have been imaginable if the dude hasn't put it to test. And since then, we've had 4 –5 following suit - people who wouldn't, if not by the example set, have the guts to trek to the next village. | Point is: It's not entirely impossible as human endeavours have shown, and your questions shouldn't just be dismissed since they're looking for empirical evidence. The problem you'll begin to encounter is lack of adequate record, most of which are exaggerated estimates. If you feel there's a missing link, it is good to continually challenge the trekker to prove, or be sufficiently imbued to call for volunteers to test his results. |
Shortyy:It may not necessarily be so. Some focus on what they think will advance their lives and humanity, and any other thing that does not contribute to that is relegated as unimportant. So, owning or not owning a TV won't tell you so much about a person. 1986 Nobel Laureate and Holocaust Survivor Elie Wiesel was once interviewed by Oprah and she was surprised Wiesel said he didn't know her. Oprah said she's all over the TV and everybody knows her, to which Wiesel replied that he doesn't have a TV. It's not being mean that Wiesel didn't know Oprah or for lack of money that he didn't own a TV. What is so important to you may be totally unnecessary or even useless to another person. |
130 kilometers by Google Walk is 27 hours. But know that this is the average speed. It's difficult but not entirely impossible. 1. I researched and found out that some authorities claim you can reach a speed of 6 to 8 hours per hour, which reduces the distance to about 16 hours. 2. Also some authorities say you can reach a speed of 14 hours per hour if you fastwalk or racewalk. Here, your 130 kilometers can be covered in just about 9 hours. My conclusion is, it's difficult to achieve the feat going by the average speed, but average is just a mean. You can add or subtract depending on other factors. If other authorities are claiming up to 8 hours, then know that few people can reach 10 – 12 kilometers per hour. I think they call it "outliers" in statistics. This group usually has their performance masked by the mass. |
Isn't it better you leave the incoming admin to sort out who it wants to work with? You appointed this man barely four weeks to your departure, and if he's kicked out he becomes a permanent enemy of the incoming government. People don't learn: You wouldn't have lost out if divide and rule was an effective strategy. |
Abuja - President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday sacked Mallam Habib Abdullahi as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority. He has also named Sanusi Bayero as his replacement. In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, the President said Bayero’s appointment would take effect from Thursday. No reason was given for Abdullahi’s sack. The statement partly read, “President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has approved the appointment of Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Ado Bayero as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority. http://m.news24.com/nigeria/National/News/Jonathan-sacks-NPA-boss-20150430 |
ilugunboy:Well, it's possible. But Kashamu called OBJ his 'father' and Tinubu his role model only to get more kicks. We will only hope the best for him, with no any pity. |
ilugunboy:ilugunboy, it's not going to be as easy as that. How could you, if you were Dokpesi warm yourself to those in the APC camp, and how could you, if you were Buhari, Osinbajo, or Tinubu view Dokpesi's any moves to be closer? These people will hardly forgive Dokpesi. This current crisis with Buhari, I think is the unofficial signal to Dokpesi of the leprous treatment he'll receive from them. The man is shameless to have started ingratiating himself back so soon. |
jmaine:"Right" is the word, but you forgot their their antecedents. They will, on their own, self-destruct. |
jmaine:AIT is on its way down already, with dwindling viewership and the impending possible zero patronage hanging on their head. APC realized this and is quick to douse any conflict with it that may offer it some relevance. APC is only protecting its honour – not to be seen beating a man who's already biting the dust. |
jmaine:It's on the surface. What you're seeing is the nimbleness of APC's crisis management team. They'll lull AIT into letting their guards down only to be rejected like a leper. AIT will be lucky if they're able to stay afloat. |
NgeneUkwenu:Well done. One of the many relentless fighters here. You've kept the faith and paid your dues. Peace and God bless. |
NgeneUkwenu:It's like you've not been around for some days. Welcome. |
superstar1:Buhari sef is too lenient. He should take them to court and run them aground for alleging that he killed his wife and daughter. |
Sunnybobo3:Will you call the koboko in the hands of the guards a public property too? |
Hmmm, sometimes one misses the great Abacha. If you want to be unethical, he employs the same tactics with you. Nigerians lined up and prayed for him and his businesses way back when the banks (possibly on Abacha's prompting) forced him to close for failure to honour loan obligations. The man no get shame. If him get shame, he no suppose send any of his people to APC or Buhari event. |
To Arthur Eze: You don't abandon your friends suddenly, when they're down. A fair weather friend is no friend. Buhari should better be careful now that everybody wants to be his friend. But I trust he's philosophic and discerning, and can see through their shenanigans. |
fagbalex:The lion of the delta. A trendsetting political strategist who can forever be hailed as one of the few to have destroyed the oppressive cabalistic PDP. Jonah will forever regret that day he stepped on your toes. |
olatunji21:OP well done. Your concerns are valid. God will see him through, having passed through all those preelection machinations. Only the enemies of Nigeria don't want Buhari. Just be faithful. What's happening is beyond the powers of mortals. It's a spiritual fight. If it's what they want, he wouldn't have won the elections or even be here today. God news: From news coming out today, the Chibok girls may be delivered to us in our living rooms - all thanks to cleanups before Buhari takes control. |
I refer you to an earlier post. The board should provide answers to the House Committee bordering on the allegations that the exercise is flawed. 1. The board cannot produce advertisement for the program. 2. They refuse to provide list of all applicants. 3. The list of board members that selected the beneficiaries cannot be provided. 4. No evidence of where the board members sat to deliberate on proceedings. |
babilicious:You are confused. I didn't mention Ojukwu in any discussion on this thread. |

I have done my "Pro bono" for the amiable general! Now is the time to walk the talk, as we are eagerly waiting for him.
