It's beginning to get hot. Obi is calling for a truce. Why I like El-Rufai is that the dude takes no prisoners. |
gare:MalcolmX it is, not GavelSlam. Slam is a good comrade, only that he's tough with anyone he perceives as not being straight to the point. |
gare:Sister I am sorry if it cones to that. But like I said in the beginning, Omokri's penchant for divisive politics and misinformation is legendary. Take take the case where he accused El-Rufai about blaspheming Jesus. His only aim was to pitch the Christians against El-Rufai. What the retweet El-Rufai intended to do was to show the length at which Omokri and Co. could go should anyone go against their administration then. The worst is that Omokri knows that's not what the tweet was meant to convey, but he knew they were gullible who would take it as such. Not exposing such characters would be more dangerous to society than leaving them to their devices.
|
jmaine:At worst in the NC, it would be a split - 50/50. Now make something with that. |
jmaine:More like a North, East and South West elections to me. |
jmaine:You may take it lightly but it will come to haunt you. You don't win anybody over by being abusive or inconsiderate. And FYI, Omokri is Atiku/Obi's hatchet man. They all have loose mouths that come back to hurt them. |
jmaine:Then the Obi he's been depending since yesterday should stick to the SE non-parasites to make him VP. |
haladadon:I am not APC. What I am about is countering falsehood by conscienceless individuals bent on misleading people. |
This piece is revisited because of Omokri's attack on AGF Malami's press conference on the capture of Kanu. I am not here to defend Malami. The version of the interview I watched was in English and he he'd done an exclusive on Hausa it is wrong. But still, if it's a question and answer session and a journalist from either BBC Hausa, DW Hausa, VOA Hausa etc. was responded to in Hausa, I think he has no apologies. My concern is with Omokri's predilection to bigotry when the matter is northern Nigeria. As I said, if Malami had done an exclusive in Hausa it is wrong, but isn't Reno not doing what he's 'accusing' Malami when as a presidential aide to Jonathan he called northerners parasites. What moral authority has a man occupying such an office to have said this and turn around today to accuse Malami of similar crime. Let others point a finger here, but definitely not Reno Omokri. On the 20th of October 2011 Mr. Reno Omokri tweeted this to two of his followers: "If they need emergency action let them produce wealth. The North, pafticularly the core North are parasites.” "This presidential aide in question is known to operate multiple accounts on several social media platforms to present his opinion and also attack government opposition members. Wendell Simlim, might actually be a tip of the iceberg." "What we have seen is a serial sociopath, who would inevitably wreck President Jonathan’s government. Mr. Reno hatred for northerners is well established. Mr. Reno description of my northern brothers and sisters as parasites is not only disgusting, its sickening." https://www.premiumtimesng.com/opinion/156271-reno-must-sacked-kikiowo-ileowo.html On the same issue, a contributor on JJ Omojuwa blog wrote: "A statement as such is reckless and tantamount to create further tensions and animosity amongst the Nigerian people. Nigeria is at a very critical stage where regional tensions are rife. We need to all put our hands on deck to see that Nigeria continues to survive as a unified State. However Sven an appointed aide to the President makes such a statement, then we clearly have a very long way to go and some won’t be shocked to hear he speaks the mind and posturing of his boss." https://omojuwa.com/2011/10/the-s-a-to-president-jonathan-on-new-media-must-apologise-now/ |

Nobody needs to tell you anything. The good people of Nigeria, whose private and local economies were revamped and uplifted don't need any convincing on who is their man. Let me give you an example. A local roadside vulcanizer tells me that for all his time being in this menial work, he has never received any aid but from the government of Buhari. Notice that to him, nobody is mentioned but Buhari - not the Shagaris, the Objs, the Yaraduas or the Jonathans, but just Buhari. These are the types of endorsements (unsolicited) that some bankers may even consider as a collateral. And, need I tell you who this local man and his ilks would vote? |
SarkinYarki:People who think it is by false information, scare tactics, propaganda and divisive politics that they'll get leadership positions in the country must be exposed for who they are. They are fighting for nobody but themselves. Exposing them is what everyone one with conscience must do. |
Firefire:Nobody knows whether it would, but the point is to show you the manner of man calling others odious. |
Mr. Omokri has the reputation of being government’s online marksman Reno Omokiri, a close aide of Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan, is wound up in a massive scandal after the digital footprint of a slanderous write-up against the recently suspended governor of the Central Bank, Sanusi Lamido, was traced to his computer. Mr. Omokri, Special Assistant to the President on New Media, is believed to have used a pseudonym, Wendell Simlin, to circulate an article that tried to link the recent spike in Boko Haram attack to the suspension of the CBN governor, Lamido Sanusi. The article tried to use a purported historical framework to draw contextual relationship between the suspended CBN governor and Boko Haram attacks. “Given the quantum of funds that were appropriated by the Sanusi-led CBN on non banking related activities and donations, and the strong desire that he and Alhaji Umaru Abdul Mutallab have for proselytizing Islam as well as their circumstantial links to terror (Sanusi via Gideon Akaluka and Mutallab via his son) it is not such a leap for them to facilitate the activities of terrorists,” the article read in part. The article was circulated to bloggers and journalists on Wednesday with the third party email address, wendellsimlin@yahoo.com , but an analysis of the document’s metadata revealed that Reno Omokri authored it. The document’s digital signature shared a 100 percent resemblance with that of others PREMIUM TIMES had received from Mr. Omokri in the past. The document was created by Mr. Omokri or someone else who used his Hewlett Packard computer at 10:01 on Wednesday. Sixteen minutes after it was created, the document was printed and revised once before it was sent out at 11:54 using the Wendell Simlin’s email address. The email was sent out using the Nigerian government’s official internet service provider, Galaxy Backbone, from Abuja, Feyi Fawehimi who first investigated the mail told PREMIUM TIMES. The revelation of the potential scandal angered Nigerians on social media with many calling for his sack. Mr. Omokri who claims to be a pastor, often posting gospel tips on twitter, is criticized for failing morally and acting criminally by trying to blame Mr. Sanusi for terrorist milling less than 48 hours after members of the Boko Haram sect murdered young students in their hostels. “If it is true that this guy tried to capitalize on this tragedy by forging documents to implicate somebody else, pressure should be placed on the presidency to fire him,” Pius Adesanmi, a professor of English and respected social critic said on his Facebook page. Mr. Omokri has the reputation of being government’s online marksman. He is believed to be President Jonathan’s coordinator of internet trolls and leads the government’s social media onslaught on opposition parties and critics of the administration. “Some of us who know him know he establishes spurious online accounts to malign opposition,” Tolu Ogunlesi, a journalist, said. "It is something we know he does,” another blogger said. The “grave” attitudinal deficiency exposed by Mr. Reno’s email shows a great danger ahead of Nigeria’s 2015 elections, critics say, arguing that it is an indication that the President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration would rather reap politically from the killing than put an end to it. "Rather than solving the Boko Haram problem, he is using it for political gains,” Mr. Fawehimi said. “It is quite low and depressing.” Mr. Omokri is yet to respond to PREMIUM TIMES’ request for comments as at the time of publishing this report. Aso Rock spokespersons, Reuben Abati and Doyin Okupe, also did not answer or return calls made to them repeatedly by our reporter. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/155838-presidency-under-fire-for-cooking-up-document-linking-sanusi-to-boko-haram-insurgency.html

pek:Yes, they begged him, even with promises of juicy appointments but he refused. |
Ahead of 2019 general elections , about 2000 supporters of People Democratic Party in Gombe State have defected to the All Progressives Congress APC in the State including by the younger brother of Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo Buhari Dankwambo came after the failed efforts of his brother and some political bigwigs to convince to remain in remain in the PDP . Our correspondent learned that Buhari Dankwambo, until his defection, had been under pressure from different quarters to reverse his decision. It was gathered that he was given juicy offers but he rejected them. A source closed to the government said the efforts to stop Dankwambo from moving to APC was not because of his political relevance but because it will be embarrassing for the blood brother of a sitting governor who is aspiring to be the president of Nigeria to decamped to an opposition party. “Obviously something is wrong ; it shows that the governor is not capable of managing situations around him , ” the source said . “We felt we could manage the situation but unfortunately it was above our ability,” the source said, refusing to tell our correspondent details of what transpired, simply saying, “The governor takes the highest proportion of the blame in the whole act .” Our correspondent gathered that Dankwambo was formally presented with his membership card by the chairman of his Ajiya ward in Gombe North constituency after he registered. Our correspondent further learnt that his supporters will also join him in APC when he is formally presented to the state leadership of the party at a grand reception in Gombe , the state capital. In a telephone interview with newsmen Buhari Dankwambo, said that he decided to join APC because the PDP was not fair to him. “Some people in the PDP have decided not to be fair to me ,” he said . “Since PDP cannot accommodate me I decided to move to the APC to pursue my political ambition.” https://m.guardian.ng/politics/dankwambo-dumps-pdp-for-apc/ |
busky007:Parties try to rig in areas where they are powerful. It could either be one of the big two, but best practices from the umpire is likely to neutralize any effects of such actions. |
gurunlocker:Pragmatism entails looking out for yourself. A dislike for GEJ could be a factor, so also whose interest is being served best. Ask yourself: Why would a SWner go for GEJ and Sambo when he has Osinbajo in Buhari's radar? For the same reason, why would he still go for Atiku/Obi, when it's human nature that he'd best feel at home (even if it's just the feeling) with Osinbajo. |
busky007:Mark it, nothing could be further from this permutation, unless there's rigging. |
SarkinYarki:That's why I told you it's a permutation akin to the electoral college system. Whoever is likely to win a zone is given the 100 points for that region, and the points added for him. This is better than many systems, in that it's more real and balances itself since your opponent is also given 100% points where he's strong. |
SarkinYarki:How is this supporting Buhari? That's why I stated in the beginning that this isn't emotionally-laden. We all would want what we wished to be, but reality may be different. |
Wahala don catch big mouth be dat. |
busky007:"Men lie, women lie, but numbers don't " - Jay Z. |
A fair assessment of Buhari's and Atiku's chances in the 2019 elections This analysis is hypothetical, but akin to the electoral college system practiced in many countries. It may still consists of lapses but still better than emotional permutations which most people (especially here) are fond of doing. Here, Nigeria is divided into six (6) geopolitical regions and each region is allocated 100% which will later equate to 100 points. It does not mean you have all the votes in the region, but like the electoral college system you take all the points allocated to that region if you have higher presence/advantages or votes. And, in the event where there's a perception of a tight race, the votes or points are split 50/50 between contenders. Here we go: BUHARI North East: 100% North West: 100% North Central: 50% South West: 100% South East: 0% South South: 0% Total = 350 Points ATIKU North East: 0% North West: 0% North Central: 50% South West: 0% South East: 100% South South: 100% Total = 250 Points So, by this methodology, it could be seen that Atiku would have 250 points as against Buhari's 350 points, and therefore, by that Buhari is expected to trounce Atiku by as much as 100 points. As you BuhaRebuild and Atikulate, remember you first heard it here. |
escodotman:I am not far from the truth. Atiku's pikins may be staying for only what's in it for them. I stumbled upon this post which perfectly portrays to you the leanings of good people. NairaMaster1: |
Zehavi:Or, you are the one who didn't read it: "He then went on to explain that TraderMoni, which is part of the Federal Government’s Social Investment Programme (N-SIP), is designed to assist petty traders across the country expand their trade through the provision of collateral and interest-free loans from N10,000. The loans are repayable over a period of six months." |
“PDP are insulting Nigerians by suggesting that our people are for sale,” Akinloye stressed, “No amount is good enough, our people's right to choose their leaders is priceless, let PDP stand on their own record and stop this abuse of our collective identity,” he added. |
They trust Buhari more than you. But why can't they follow your steps? I can't see Yusuf, Fatima and Zahra doing to Buhari what your sons are doing to you. |
awelekiti:Some internal dynamics may reduce the APC votes at the governorship level (APC will still win), but when it comes to masses and their man, Buhari us the sure banker. |
9jakool:And for his information again, "Yorubawa" to a Hausa man simply translates to "Yoruba People." |
MeanChris:Make him no go take him leg enter wahala o! |
