Yeah, I got that same error too, but clicking OK and continuing granted me access to the TEMP folder still. Na wa o...this your issue sha. By the way, why do you need access explicitly to this TEMP folder? Perhaps if we knew what you trying to achieve, there just may be another way around it. |

Looks to me you are a member of the Administrator group. Lets do this. It may seem long, but the steps are easy: 1. Right click My Computer and select properties. Then select "Advanced system settings" 2. Click the "Advanced" tab and click the "Environment variables" 3. In the "System Variable" section, scroll down to the "TEMP" variable and note the location shown. In case, TEMP = C:\Windows\Temp 4. Close all open dialogs/windows, and navigate to the "C:\Windows\" and right click on the "TEMP" folder, select "Properties" . Next click the "Security" tab 5. Click "Continue" to bring up the screen below. Click "Add" next 6. Clicking "Add" from step 5 above would open the dialog below. The field "Enter the Object Name" , enter "User" ...this is your username as you've indicated in the previous post output 7. Click on "Check Names" to confirm the account is valid. The computer name is automatically appended to the username you entered confirming its is valid. Once its valid, click "OK" to proceed to step 8 8. You should now see your username added to the list as indicated below. Under the "Allow" checkboxes, click "Full Control" 9. Full control has been granted to your user. Click OK next 10. Accept the warning and click "OK" on any open dialog left. 11. You should be granted access to the folder. Cheers! |

Computers / Re: Can Someone Help Me Access The "Temp" Folder Of My Laptop by Maleeq(m): 2:28pm On Nov 12, 2015 |
mday:Does the user your are currently logged on with have administrative privileges? The "Continue" button, when click, would implicitly grant you access to the said folder ONLY if your current user is a member of the "Administrator" group on your PC. To confirm this: 1. Open command prompt (cmd) 2. Type the following command net localgroup "Administrators" The output should be sometime like this: Note: The highlighted name is my own currently logged on username. 3. Is your currently logged on user name displayed? If no, then you will have to log on with an account/user that has administrative rights to assign your user to the Administrator group. Try these first, and let me know so we know where to proceed from. Regards. |

Politics / Re: Dogara Has Declared War Against Buhari, Party, Says Pro-gbajabiamila Group by Maleeq(m): 11:20am On Nov 10, 2015 |
I tire for this people. If Dogara gives all the head ships of house committees to APC, una go complain say they are imposing one party rule. Now, they share the positions with you, you call it war on APC leadership. Frankly, these guys aren't for the good of the country. What should be of focus is how to drive the country forward and not bickering back and forth like a bunch of deprived kids! |

Action taken: @USATrucks has been banned, forum wide, for one year. Intending buyers should always be cautious when getting stuff online. Advance fee/payment is a NO-NO if its not with a reputable/established eCommerce firm online. Best advice is to meet with the seller in a neutral place and conduct your trade. Regards. 1 Like |

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Submitting CV Manually: How To Prepare & Package Your File by Maleeq(m): 8:45am On Jul 30, 2015 |
@Martins301 Further to what @MarvellousGod and @Prinzofparis said, I would only differ in one point: Sending the letter to the HR Manager. In my opinion (experience), HR managers don't make the call for vacancies. The unit/department in need of a skill places the request to the HR manager. If the HRM gets your letter, he/she may chose to send it out to the perceived department you best fit or simply look through the vacancy listing and if none exists, dumps your letter in KIV (keep in view) hopefully. However, I'd add that you take time out and research the company you are sending it to. Find out the department you are interested in, and then send your letter (CV and cover letter) to the head of the department. He/she may not exactly have an opening, but seeing your well packaged letter can make him/her think you'd fit in well and then he/she would send a requirement to the HRM. Thats just how I feel...and that's what worked for me. Cheers. 6 Likes |

sosiqdude:The idea of an online lesson would be incomplete without an outline. Computing is too vast to be catered for on a thread/forum without laid down schedules. If you have any specific field(s) you'd like to cover, sure we can sticky or move the thread to front page. 2 Likes |

Please, if you spot any tech thread you find interesting, kindly suggest it to me or other moderators, and we'd have it queued up for the front page soonest. |
