Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC) on Thursday faulted the leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) over the withdrawal of the invitation extended to Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai to speak at the event billed for next week.

The NBA had removed the name of El-Rufai from the list of speakers over protest from some lawyers who had threatened to boycott the event.

But speaking in a chat with Daily Independent, Sagay said the NBA should have allowed the governor to attend the conference so that the issues can be addressed on the spot.

According to him, banning the governor aside creating unnecessary hostility will also reduce the chances of making El Rufai change his ways if guilty of the allegations leveled against him.

“I don’t know the basis of the rejection of his presence at the conference but honestly, my humble view is that even if they have an objection like that, there is nothing wrong in stating it so that he can explain it. He should have been invited and then they ask him on the spot”.

“Even if there is truth in the allegations, the fact that a body like NBA will raise it with him, will make him have a rethink and improve on his philosophy of the problem”.

” But to alienate him completely and treat him like an outcast, I think that is not very wise because it eliminates dialogue, creates unnecessary hostility and reduces the chances of making him change his position which we are complaining about”.

Nairaland Car Gurus please help me find permanent solution to my golf 3 car(America spec) doing overheating barely every day

I started experiencing this over heating after the change of fuel pump and speedometer censor was changed by a recommended Rewire

I'm using this golf for commercial business, nothing give me any issue in the car than this over heating, is becoming embarrassing when I carry passengers and it started. the car is clean and engine is working fine

it's relay today, it's the water in the radiator boiling tomorrow, I'm becoming sick of this. my mechanic told me when it started this night that my gasket is damaged in the process. I put water in the radiator everyday because of this over heating

please what do you guys suggest as the permanent solution to this over heating gazzuzz Sienna royallord1 and others and I wouldn't mind a recommendation of good Rewire. I reside in Lagos.

1of these 4 things can be responsible .

Check ur radiator cover if it’s bad , change .
Check ur fan whether it’s rotating
Add coolant to ur radiator
Remove ur car thermostat
Check whether ur radiator body is dirty and block, it can prevent air from going into the engine.

The candidate of Labour Party in the September 19, 2020 gubernatorial election in Edo State, Isaiah Osifo, has advised former governor of Lagos State and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to get the full account of the events leading to the failed attempt to take over the Edo State House of Assembly from all the parties to the issue before jumping to make comments on national television.

Speaking in Benin City, the Edo State capital, on Sunday in reaction to comments attributed to the APC leader on the failed invasion of the Assembly by members of APC, Osifo advised Tinubu to refrain from trying to “impose his retrogressive politics on Edo people” because he cannot succeed.

“In Lagos State, Asiwaju Tinubu has succeeded in putting the destinies of over twenty million Lagosians in his pocket, who must go and prostrate in his Bourdillon residence before they can seek elective positions, buy property and even start a business,” Osifo said.

The Labour Party candidate said “Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has done in three years what Tinubu couldn’t do in eight years, and several years after, by his stooges occupying the seat of power in Lagos”.

“Whereas in Edo State, the illegal activities of area boys and land grabbers have been stamped out of our socio-economic space by Obaseki, but in Lagos, the reverse is the case.

“In Edo State the Geographic Information Service agency, set up by Governor Obaseki issues Certificate of Occupancy in a matter of weeks, and at affordable cost. But in Lagos, the issuance of C-of-Os is still largely influenced by Tinubu, several years after leaving office,” he said.

He alleged tgat it is this kind of culture that “Tinubu wants to foist on Edo people through his agents such as Adams Oshiomhole and the APC gubernatorial candidate”.

“But Edo people will not allow them,” Osifo said.
