Amen to all your prayers and thank you for the comforting kind words.

@motic2
had brown spotting with terrible sharp painful cramps one night went for scan the following day and was told no heartbeat and my baby was measuring 3 weeks behind, that was my first scan, first time of seeing the life growing in me and also the same scan that gave me the bad news no woman should ever hear, but who am i to question God?

Was told it was a missed miscarriage and had to go for evacuation. Ha, that was the darkest period of my life, 4 long years, all that pain, all the expectation, just like that my joy was snatched, like i said who am i to question God?

Even though sorrow may endure for a night i know joy will come in the morning, ha God must come through for me, HE cannot live me hanging, HE cannot disappoint me.

I am so sorry, just needed to pour out my heart
No mama. Don’t be sorry for pouring your heart out! This is a safe space for you to vent. I experienced what you just went through and even though I already had one child, it was the most devastating time of my life.

Please cry, cry and cry some more. Rid your heart and soul of all the grief and anguish. But believe me sincerely, the door of your fertility has been opened indefinitely and you will be back on this thread in no time. I’m really sorry you’re going through this right now. May you find peace.

Sorry to cut you short, What kind of Visa were you granted that had one 1 Year validity?( or probably your passport was to expire by 1 year)?

Canada won't Grant you another Visa if you applied for Visa and didn't travel!

This can only fall within the business / Tourist Trip anyway.

Cancelled business meeting could arise and all that, Leisure trip is already planned out in your application and you were sure of travelling, thus you applied, Then You come up with a reason for not using it?

Though i doubt your experience to an extent, I know 4 different people who didn't and have not been given again till this minute

1 Estate surveyor
1 Business man

This is ABSOLUTELY FALSE!!! I had an unused Canadian and had no problem getting a new one where did you obtain this information? From the Canadian Consulate or people who just tell things? Do you work for them?

Let’s be 100% sure of the information that we spread here Abeg. FYI: my trip was for leisure.

Part 4

The guy understood me and told me he will try and avoid that situation this time around. But he poked around my back so much that I cried like a baby. Eventually he was able to get the epidural in and I felt some relief. He then gave me a pump and told me to make sure to pump it and give myself another boost once the effects start wearing out. This was around 9pm. I then requested for my nurse to get the on-call OB so he can break my water. That was the beginning of my frustration. They said he was in 2 back to back C-Sections and he will show up after he’s done with them. He never showed up until 4:30am. Maybe he was hiding from me, who knew? I was so pissed and between 9pm - 4:30am, I only dilated another .5cm. That meant I dilated 1.5cm in 16 hours. I started panicking and thinking I will have to need an emergency c-Section. Eventually the doctor showed up and he broke my bag of water around 4:45am. After he broke the water, the nurse said she will check me in 2 hours cos they don’t want to run the risk of checking too frequently and introducing bacteria into my cervix. Lo and behold, I went from a 5.5cm to 8cm in 2 hours! I was soo happy! She said she was gonna step outside and inform the OB and get the team ready for me. In 15 minutes before she had the chance to come back, I started feeling intense pressure in my vagina, butt, back and lower extremities. It was agony! I woke up my husband and my family friend who were with me in the room and informed them that my body was wanting to push. They thought I was joking but we Sha paged the nurse to come and check the me again and I was indeed completely dilated to a 10 in 15 minutes and ready to have this baby! The doctor ran into the room and they pushed my bed up and everywhere became a beehive of activities.

Side note, because of my earlier traumatic birth experience in 2016, I had been researching ways to make labor easier this time around and the generally accepted consensus was to drink red raspberry leaf tea, eat dates and eat pineapples. I got the red raspberry leaf tea on amazon and started drinking it at 31 weeks. I also got the capsules on amazon and I will drink one cup/teabag of the tea in the morning, take 3 capsules of the red raspberry leaf tea in the afternoon and another 3 at night. I continued like that until I got induced at 39 weeks. I also ate 6 giant medjool dates everyday starting at 33weeks. Research said I needed 71g at least everyday for it to have any effect. Those things I did with diligence because I was afraid of a repeat of my first experience.

I’d like to think that my trifecta worked and God also decided to be merciful to me because my epidural worked perfectly and I was able to feel exactly where and when to push. I started pushing at 7:15am and as the first contraction hit, I pushed through that and the head slipped out, second contraction hit and his whole body slipped out! He was born 7:19am and we’re so in love. The attending OB pressed on my belly and Placenta came out immediately after. No pains and I just felt it slip out of me. Best of all, I didn’t even tear or bruise and the baby was 8.9lbs! Alhamdulilah, for all His Mercies.
So it was my superstitious self that decided not to jinx myself and report for roll call or announce the pregnancy o. My teammates make una no vex.

Part 3.
I got pregnant again in June and was my due date was February 13th 2019. It was a run of the mill pregnancy and even though I was sick, it wasn’t too bad that I couldn’t cope with the sickness. I changed jobs in between and while pregnant and I was so nervous but it was the best decision ever. One of the best places I’ve ever worked for. Along the line, I think during my late 2nd trimester, my doctor ordered for a full CBC and there it was discovered that I had low platelets. If the platelets keep going down, it’s dangerous for me during childbirth because my blood might not clot and I could hemorrhage to death. Plus if it got below a certain level, I won’t be able to get an epidural because of blood clotting issues. Plus I was Group B Strep+. We kept monitoring it and while it never decreased significantly it also never increased as well. When I went for my appointment at 38.5weeks my OB suggested induction once I hit 39weeks which was in 2 days and I said yes.

I got to the birth center on Wednesday and I was booked into a room. I got started on penicillin IV for the Group B Strep and after that was done, got started on oxytocin. It was upped every 30 minutes and at level 12 the nurse checked me and said I was 7cm dilated. Mind you, I was 4cm dilated and 60% effaced on my own before the induction started. My OB came and he wanted to break my water to but I said since I was doing good and progressing with my water intact he should leave it and let it break on it’s own.

I didn’t know the nurse was deceiving me saying I was 7cm dilated. About 30 minutes later, they changed shifts and a new nurse came for the night shift. The new nurse came checked my cervix and told me I was actually 5cm dilated. And this was at 8pm. That meant I only dilated 1cm in 9 or 10 hours because my induction started around 11am. I don buy market! Loool. I jejelly just requested for my epidural because they told me the anesthesiologist was going into a C-Section in about 20 minutes and might be stuck in there for hours. The guy came and I explained my situation to him. On 2016 when I had my first child, my epidural was so strong! Strong to the extent that I was paralyzed from the waist down. I didn’t feel any pain but never felt my contractions either (I was supposed to feel the pressure from the contractions and not the pain). That meant that when it was time for me to push, I didn’t have any sensation. I didn’t know where to push. I was stuck pushing for over 2 hours and eventually they had to vacuum him out because he was just stuck in my cervix.

Part 2.
6 weeks came and gone. No period. I started testing with the pregnancy tests I had at home and Lo and behold, I was still a very clear positive. I called my OB with the news and I was told it will go down with time and clear out. This was what I was on, and for two months, HCG never cleared from my system. Nightmare all over again. I was at work one afternoon when I just felt a warm gush. Wishing seconds, I was soaked front to back, top to bottom in thick blood. Confused, I got into my car, called my OB and drove straight to his office. He sent me to the lab to have blood drawn and between 2 hours I had soaked through 5 maxi pads. It was like a tap had been opened, no kidding. I will sit on the toilet and blood will be coming out of me like I was peeing.

The test revealed I still had a very large amount of HCG in me. I did another transvaginal ultrasound and boom! Remnants of the fetus was still smiling at me. Who did I offend? Lmao. I was scheduled for another D&C o. But before they could schedule the surgery, the EMR system at my OBs office went down. So they couldn’t pick a date for me. I started researching on how to get this tissue out of me naturally and found out about some herbal supplements I could buy on Amazon. It was a tea of sorts. I Sha bought it, drank it, half expecting it not to work. Eventually the EMR system came back up and I was scheduled for the D&C. The day of the D&C I woke up to take a bath and within seconds I started feeling labor pains. But this time, it was crazy. I screamed and screamed and screamed. It was crazy. Eventually I took Norco and it became bearable. I went to the hospital for my surgery after notifying them of the new developments. I got there, I was prepped for surgery and my OB decided to put it hands in my cervix to see if there was anything in there and Lo and behold he pulled out some sort of tissue. Not too small or large. He sent it immediately to the lab to get tested and I was wheeled again to get ultrasound done again. Alhamdulilah, the tissue he pulled out was the remnants that was still making my body think it was pregnant and still emitting HCG into my body. That was how I escaped another D&C and God being who he is and will always be, I got my period two days after that episode! Alhamdulilah again.

That experience really traumatized me and I got so superstitious after I got pregnant again, hence the reason why I didn’t announce it on here or join any team. I was so superstitious that even a bunch of my friends and family never knew I was pregnant until I gave birth yesterday.

Birth Story
I was initially supposed to be TeamJune2018. I got pregnant in October 2017 shortly after my first son turned 1 in September. I was so mad and sad that I got pregnant again. I swore so hard at my husband saying he had derailed my career plans and all that, because I thought I had my career and family plans figured out and was just not ready for another one. The man was just laughing at me. Eventually after a few days I came to terms with the pregnancy and I apologized for being so bitchy, apologized to the baby for being letting him/her think it was unwanted and apologized to God for looking a gift horse in the mouth. After all, this was a gift that I was given freely that some people will kill to have.

Morning sickness started shortly after. I was sick as a dog but I kept managing to go to work and not be too sick. Eventually, the morning sickness gradually decreased and I thought nothing of it. I was even happy that this child didn’t come to give me issues. This was around the 12/13th week.
I was going to join my team here on Nairaland and the next week, I went for my routine OB appointment and they doctor tried to use the Doppler to find the heartbeat. For where? It was dead silent. No heartbeat. I didn’t really think much about it, thinking his Doppler was faulty until he went out and got the portable ultrasound machine. No heartbeat again.

Long story short, baby had stopped developing around week 10 or 11 but my body refused to leg go and miscarry up until week 14 at my appointment. I was given an option of D&C or Cytotec to induce the miscarriage. I opted for cytotec and there began round two of my ordeal. I bled and bled and bled all night long, passing big balls of clotted blood. In the morning, I went back to his office and we did ultrasound, Lo and behold, the fetus is still clinging to my uterine wall, not detaching fully. I eventually opted for a D&C which was carried out about 1hr later. I was put under and the procedure went well. My OB told me I should expect my period in 2-6 weeks.
