maestro2000:Thank You and may God bless you! Nobody in LA will accept 0% downpayment when they’re a tons of people willing to drop 20-50%! Heck, even 80%. Houses sell within hours and a house like that in LA, the owner will go for the highest bidder. No time! |
linearity:Oh. Okay. Gotcha. |
Yoshy:Ha. Oga. $96K a month In this America? Him be Jay-Z ni? Even most of the highest paid professionals (excluding some in the medical field) earn about $150,000 -250,000 a year. |
linearity:And he has a million dollars just laying around? Okay sir/ma |
manny4life:If your point was trying to correct the $180K which btw is 20% thereabout you could have pointed that out or asked me to explain, instead of telling me I’m posting rubbish. Anyways, we agree to disagree. Have a great afternoon. |
manny4life:Is that all you’ve got? Lmfao. Of course I live in CA. Central Valley to be precise. I don’t need to prove to you if I do or not. Yes, FHA requires a down payment of 3.5%. But they do have a ceiling. I mean, the max they can loan you. Any other purchase above that, you have to come up with the difference. Conventional does accept 0% down payment. But that’s with excellent credit. 800+. You’re telling me he has that? And let’s assume he has the stellar credit. He also has to have a steady verifiable job that provides you with income that is sufficient enough to pay your mortgage every month. Google Loan to Value calculations. Nope. I am not confusing it with PMI. PMI cancels after you’ve made payments that’s puts you at 20% of the total loan value. For FHA, it’s for the life of that loan. Let’s say he did FHA. And he got the most FHA will finance for LA county which is 680K, he has to come up with $320K out of pocket. If he did conventional, which we both agree is very hard to qualify for and he put down 5% that puts him at $50000. But one thing I am very sure of is: LA housing is very hot. Houses sell within hours and you must Times have 5-6 people fighting for the same house. He house goes to people with the highest down payment. And some people have 50% to put down oo. We just bought a house last year, and no. It’s not in LA. We def cannot afford it. |
manny4life:Uncle. STFU. I live in CA. I know what’s up. If that house is indeed in LA, it will be valued nothing less than $1M. To get a mortgage, you need between 5-20% downpayment depending on your credit and income and the kind of loan you’re looking to finanace the house with (FHA or conventional). FHA loan ceiling for a single home like that in Los Angeles county is around $680K which means for you to buy a $1M home, you have to come up with the rest of the $320K out of pocket. Conventional requires 5-20% and with how hot the LA market is, they will sell to the person with the highest down payment. All this is minus escrow fees, closing costs, appraisal fees, agents fees, insurance and all that. Please do the math. We are not all stupid. |
zika1:Point me to one job he’s done for the UN. Yes r you think the UN is like the Nigerian house of reps or Senate where they share Ghana must go of money? All of them are government employees and salary earners. |
mamatwiny:You do realize the down payment for such house will be around $180,000 right? |
CaptainJeffry:Thank you oo. I was even being economical with the price ni o. |
CaptainJeffry:Exactamente! He’s probably renting. I live in California and even people with steady income and all find it hard to buy houses in Los Angeles. They would move inwards into SoCal and buy. Most people in LA rent. |
Good for him. Bloggers Sha. That house is probably on mortgage or something. He might even be renting. That house in LA will not be less than $900,000. How was he able to pass the escrow process and fork over that amount of cash to buy the house outright? Escrow process is a pain and they will question every single dollar you’re using as payment. |
OP: may God bless you as you’ve put smiles, joy and laughter on someone’s/a family’s face. Infertility is hard and using donor eggs is rather unheard of in Nigeria. I’ll say this tho. You get mind! I would love to help families who have issues with producing eggs out but the thought of having my Offspring, a child of mine out there will drive me nuts. Kudos! And once again, God bless you. |
Liftedhands:Interior decorator says “Good afternoon ma’am. Here I am. I am pleased to inform your that I have graduated this opening doors, mixing rice, beans and Garri together in the pantry and smearing aquaphor on everything in the house(including my mommy’s bra)” ![]() |
Liftedhands:Koste onirin! my own Olympus has died, not fallen alone. Hahaha. I was a 32G prior to breastfeeding so you can imagine my dilemma. I don still lose a lot of weight Join, the breast sef lose weight! I dey pity my husband sef. Dude must be traumatized The good side is, I have heard my insurance covers breast reduction and reconstruction so Na to lie give my family physician say back dey pain me, cos I heard that’s the only way they will cover the procedure. But until I am ready, koste onirin to the rescue. ![]() |
Omodadi2:Something is up here. Methinks the first VO that interviewed you either noted something contradictory on your interview transcript, or maybe you made some mistake filling your DS-160 somewhere. If you have copies of the previous DS-160s, I’ll suggest checking and comparing them carefully to see if you made any mistake. Another angle might be at the POE. Did you say anything that might have contradicted your story at the embassy? How far along are you? If you still have time, apply to Canada. Cross your fingers and pray. Cos both countries have come out to declare that they now share information. If you’re gonna be applying for a Canadian visa tho, do it fast. Those guys are notoriously slow. The UK IMO is not worth the money, except you’re going there for the superb medical services. No chance at citizenship. Pele, this is really confusing. |
ubunja:I updated my earlier post. Check it out. |
ubunja:Say what you know sir. It is done in America. When you’re pregnant too. And like someone said, blacks have a much much higher rate of sickle cell, so it is especially encouraged for us. And if you’re from sub-Saharan Africa, you have a even greater risk. My OB wouldn’t even commence any pre-Batals on me until my genotype testing result was out. And mind you, my OB isn’t black. Cystic fibrosis testing is usually done for whites, cos they have a much higher percentage of having it. |
LaudableXX:It’s actually possible to test for Down’s syndrome and other defects before the baby is born as well. There is this thing called the “Nuchal Translucency Test” which is a combination of blood tests and an ultrasound. It is done in the second trimester of pregnancy.... 20 weeks or thereabouts. It tests the amount of fluid behind the fetus’ neck and it gives the odds of the baby having Down’s syndrome. If there is a high risk, the might do additional testing where they insert a needle and collect sample of the amniotic fluid to be certain the baby ha Down’s syndrome or some other stuff. And if it’s indeed true, they tell the parents and give them a chance to decide if they want to keep the baby or not. |
dubolog:Not all states allow this. Each state with their own set of rules. Best bet will be google. |
Infiosa:Sorry about your denial. But I would point something out here for you..... applying through your employer has zilch to do with future approvals or denials. As in...zero, nada. Your employers cannot secure you future visa apprOvals. Even people with approved H visa petition from the USCIS get denied by the consulate. You have to qualify for a visa on your own and based on merit and not through your employers. It would be best to try for a Canadian visa, like some people said and then try applying for a US visa again. But again, going through an employer guarantees nothing. #JustSaying |
Omodadi2:Oh wow. I rarely comment on these things but I a so sorry for the denials. I just can’t seem to place my finger in why you keep getting denied. Honestly. How far along are you? If not too far along, maybe try Canada and hope they are not going to be as crazy as the US? This is indeed frustrating. |
chidi4sam:First thing you should ask yourself is: Can you afford it? This journey for those who undertake it is not a cheap one. It’s an average of $12K or more. And why is your brother-in-law mandating you to check things? IMO, you’re the head of your family and should be the one making the decisions and all. If you feel this is what you want and have the funds, please by all means. Go ahead. The time is now, her EDD is in 2 months. She would need a passport (if she doesn’t have one yet) will need to get an appointment at the US embassy, attend her interview and if visa is granted, wait for her passport. That’s almost a month (if we are being economical). She will be 8 months at that point and a lot of airlines won’t fly her. Like I said, if you have the funds and are ready to commit to this endeavor totally, start the process ASAP. Like right now. All the best, sir. |
ozymes:No ma’am. Not true. You don’t need to prove custody if the birth certificate has no father indicated on it. The only time you might need court papers proving custody is when there is a father listed on the birth certificate. |
franklynx:I give up! Smh. A lie is a lie, no matter what! Haba?! And we wonder why Nigeria is the way it is. We curse our leaders but given that same opportunity some people will do worse. Lord have mercy on that nation and her people. SMH |
franklynx:Lies, no matter how minute will always find a way to catch up with you. If you do not know, lies are so hard to maintain, you have to keep telling lies over lies to cover up for one lie. It’s on here that I read about someone that was denied renewal of a visa based on a lie that they told around 10years prior. People have been stripped of citizenships because they lied on their application or somewhere along the line. Before you lie, ask yourself “Is it worth it? Will I be okay suffering the consequences if I am eventually found out?” Peace. |
ladeonas:I hope the hospital hasn't passed the bill to MEdicaid already. Cos they are always quick to do that. |
EsotericMonk:I wager you will also curse me out for what I am about to write. But I will write it nonetheless. You said you do not want to ask for asylum yet you asked the question, asking for someone creo? Anyways, to answer your question: Asylum heh? Asylum in the US is no beans. It's not like those kwe-kwe countries that will grant people asylum at the drop of a hat just by cooking cock&bull stories. First, your stories must be LEGIT!. Cos they WILL VERIFY!. So whatever stories you or whoever is applying for it must be water tight and correct. I know someone who had been in the process since 2013 and only just got their green card like early this year. They had been in the US since 2011 or so and overstayed then applied for asylum. They had a legit story tho. The person confided in my husband and told him they wish they had not gone the asylum route. It was hell. They had their interview since late 2016 and never got a green card in the mail until 2018. So go figure. They haven't stepped out of the US since 2011, I beleive. Like I said, make sure whoever is applying for the asylum is a genuine asylum seeker. And like Twoods posted, I do not think there is a situation in Nigeria that warrants asylum right now. Coupled with the fact that you're from a shithole country, plus our present commander in chief, good luck seeking with asylum and and goodluck with the USCIS too. ![]() |
Akaraiwe:A lot of people have actually went in when one or more of their relatives have been turned back because of one issue or the other and have gotten the visa. Likewise, countless of people have gone in with their families and got denied. Him going in without his family played no part in his denial. |
Happy Birthday Baby Ilan, may your days on earthbe long, fruitful and worth it's while |
sugah:My dear, twins fall on you this year! You are too mouthed. How would anybody advise someone to misuse visa "If they want to?" Yet we cry and wail that we are treated like lepers cos we are Nigerians? I do not understand Nigerians, everybody wants to leave the country by all means possible, legally or illegally. And he was talking about VOs not being condescending and courteous.. who cares? The "Don't hurt my feelings with your words" toga that Nigerians wear. despite being in the obvious wrong is what got us to where we are as a nation. Oshisko le bien ![]() |
LadyGuinivere:Exactly! All those people with sketchy info on their DS-160 will just mess things up for others in the group. Guilty by virtue of association. Some visa applicants are lied to by their visa agents that a group interview will increase chances of approval. My cousin was telling me that the people that wanted to "package" the US visa runs for him said they will be going in a group with a King that wants to attend a Yoruba summit in NYC. I told him point blank, "Bros, na scam" He didn't believe me until they scammed him of 300K and he still did not get the visa. SMH |
