Webmasters / Re: Nairaland Is The #1 Nigerian Website by mambenanje(m): 10:42am On Oct 07, 2009 |
@baekdoosan You are saying thesame thing I have been discussing with Seun for like 2yrs. Well he has his own goals and try to chat with him, you might convince him in another way. This is what I was looking at when I said NAIRALAND IS NOT UP TO 10% OF WHAT IT IS SUPPOSE TO BE. |
Webmasters / Re: Nairaland Is The #1 Nigerian Website by mambenanje(m): 1:43pm On Oct 06, 2009 |
@Seun maybe I am putting it the wrong way but its no call for arguments. but you told me you dont believe in innovation and we were not talking of facebook clone we were talking of improving on the media aspects to get more products. but its ok boss. You will get there gradually. God be for us all and show ya sef regards |
Webmasters / Re: Nairaland Is The #1 Nigerian Website by mambenanje(m): 9:09am On Oct 06, 2009 |
We were once number 8 in Nigeria. Then Facebook and the spam problem struck and we fell. Did I read that well or my english is gone low. Did Seun say INNOVATE and REARCHITECT ? Men this is news. I remember him saying he doesnt believe in this same things. and why not do it yourself. well time is the best teacher. Nairaland is not 10% of what it is suppose to be. and I will say this anyday anytime. |
Webmasters / Re: Don't Piss Me Off! Fml by mambenanje(m): 2:29pm On Aug 30, 2009 |
@cactus Men this reminds me of three experiences I have had with female clients(paid jobs). Men I use to think its just me not knowhing hwo to work with women but I guess its a general issue. just be patient with them and do what they want. and be ready for changes because they will come back. In my case I warn that if you come later to do what I want, you will pay extra and for this first release, I DIDNT DO IT lol |
Webmasters / Re: Social Networking Dilema Feat Drupal Vs Joomla by mambenanje(m): 2:11pm On Aug 30, 2009 |

@inf8nity have you ever heard of BUSINESS ENTRY LEVEL ? and Business Advantage ?? I guess that will get you scared when you plan to base a big Business ontop of Joomla. if a client wants a basic social network, or something that Joomla can handle and their budget fits that. You can use Joomla so that you make the cash and give the client a solution but man if you want a big business, stay off Joomla or spend sometime rewriting the core like Google did with Apache |
Webmasters / Re: Social Networking Dilema Feat Drupal Vs Joomla by mambenanje(m): 2:34pm On Aug 29, 2009 |
Men it all depends on what you want to do and who you are doing it for if you are working on the next facebook, Google or Twitter, you wont want it to be easily copied would you ? so if thats the case think twice because any person can installl Joomla |
Webmasters / Re: Social Networking Dilema Feat Drupal Vs Joomla by mambenanje(m): 12:52pm On Aug 29, 2009 |

Webmasters / Re: Social Networking Dilema Feat Drupal Vs Joomla by mambenanje(m): 12:37pm On Aug 29, 2009 |
well its not a blanket statement its similar to saying everyone in USA is on facebook. not 100% but its a true statement. Yawa me and you again nah wa oh. I hope when naijaborn gets its developer API you will contribute your own applications lol |
Webmasters / Re: Help - Fontpage Mailto: Form by mambenanje(m): 12:34pm On Aug 29, 2009 |
you cannot make a form send an email without a server side application. hence you need php, java, C#, perl, python or any of the server side programming languages to makee even the frontpage form send a mail. unless you wish that it launches microsoft outlook or the default email client on the visitors computer good luck |
Webmasters / Re: Help - Fontpage Mailto: Form by mambenanje(m): 12:24pm On Aug 29, 2009 |

Guys relax this aratext.com site was built by a top Nigerian developer and a close pal to me, he did it in php using the symphony framework. I was chatting with him one day and he told me he was updating and if he is on nairaland I doubt his ID will be quadrillion. but something close to Takimbo or similar. So beware what you trust |
